  • Hello, I'm not the person who deleted the images, but it's indeed me who tagged the files for speedy deletion. I've not the right nor the possibility to undelete your images. I did that simply because a quick search with google make appears non free prior publications in the web. In this kind of case our rules require that the copyright holder, even if it is you, send a permission to OTRS where you can read how to proceed. This is done in order to protect the rights of the copyright holder. You can also read our policies com:Licensing but also com:scope in order to understand what kind of content is accepted here.     • Continued work on merging Lexemes. Merging via the SpecialPage is done and will be rolled out soon. Merging via the API is still being worked on. (phabricator:T189129)
    • Long Lemmas in Lexemes look bad because they are not flowing to the next line and instead break the layout. Working on a fix. (phabricator:T195367)
    • Improving the validity of the HTML of the Lexeme headers. (phabricator:T196228)
    • Worked on showing the Lemma(s) or Representation(s) when Lexemes or Forms are mentioned in constraint reports. (phabricator:T195315)
    • Got a new beta feature ready for deployment that will improve the suggestions for properties like sex/gender by first suggesting the values defined in the one-of constraint. (phabricator:T202712)

Oui bien sur avec plaisir. La première chose étant d'essayer d'éliminer les "PF". Est-ce que tu as un fichier RAW à m'envoyer par mail? ça serait le top, c'est beaucoup mieux pour apporter des modifications. Hello, je ne suis pas encore converti à la secte RAW (même si cet appareil le permet). Un jour, peut-être, mais je tiens trop à la capacité de ma carte mémoire quand je vais à l'eau...   • ✓ Done @FredD: bonjour, ça y est, j'ai téléchargé une version améliorée. Plusieurs choses:
La version que j'ai reçus par mail avait un problème, je ne sais pas si cela venait de la verion stockée sur ton PC, ou si cela est s'est produit lors du transfert. Bref la partie supérieure de l'image n'était pas aligné avec le bas. Mais pas de problème je me suis débrouillé avec la version de Commons.
J'ai téléchargé ma version par dessus ta version, tu peux toujours revenir en arrière si la mienne ne te plais pas.
Si tu as des souhaits particuliers, par exemple des ajustements supplémentaires de de couleur ou contraste, ou quoi que ce soit... tu peux toujours demander
Si tu veux le détail précis de ce que j'ai fais tu peux aussi demander.

  • For me the main thing is that its very hard to afford a home in Vancouver as you see in this story by the CBC, by the Government of Canada's news site. As I told you the price of living, real estate is very high here since the weather is moderate in winter. So more people come to Vancouver and home prices go even higher. Life is hard here.   • PS: The City of Vancouver is a very beautiful city as this photos shows: but since everything (food, homes, rent) is so expensive many young people just go to other Canadian provinces with good quality cities like Calgary or other smaller suburbs of Metro Vancouver. In the story I mentioned people have to spend 88% of their income to buy a house in the City of Vancouver...which is not realistic. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 10:04, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
✓ Done yes it seems to be a very very nice city, though I personally prefer the tranquillity. Yes I read a little, where I live in southern France near the sea, it is already a bit more expensive than lands far from the shores, but as far I can see Vancouver is more than seven or eight times more expensive than where I live. I mean a very old and small house at 100-160 000 euros will be at around.... 1 000 000 dollars... in Vancouver, ouch!! don't you sometimes think about moving?   • I do think of moving but the truth is many people who can't live in the City of Vancouver are moving to the smaller suburbs of Metro Vancouver and pushing their house prices up too. Commons galleries from Wikidata

Hi Christian. I saw your ping at VP/P - it's a bit off-topic there, so maybe here's a better place to talk about it. I've put together User:Mike Peel/Dytaster using Wikidata, as a demo of what's currently possible. You have to have a Wikidata item for each item, so it's not useful e.g. for galleries of images of a specific person, but for navigation galleries it's more useful. See User:Mike Peel/Radio telescopes by country for an example for a wider topic. As more info's added to Wikidata, they'll automatically update, although they aren't currently multilingual, and they need some formatting improvements so that they look better. But it's possible. @Mike Peel: can you help me to create {{Wikidata Taxon Gallery}} that will contains :
at top right: the Wikidata Infobox (or a similar infobox) with the infos coming from Wikidata and that display all the taxonomic ranks, and the authority (as for Wikipedia)
at top : a similar thing as {{VN}} (note that this template has already infos coming from Wikidata)
directly below : the list of the identifiers coming from Wikidata
directly below : a gallery automatically generated as you did in User:Mike Peel/Dytaster
a few suggestion for the gallery, I think red links are useful, as I did in Dytaster (firstly to have easily a red link at disposal to create a potential thing, secondly that show what exist currently and what is not yet created), therefore the little issue I see in User:Mike Peel/Dytaster is that there is only one link below the images. Is it not possible to have 3 links (to the category, to the gallery and to the item) even if two links are red. Or at least to have at disposal all the links that are available, and not one link in place of the other.
Of course if you do not have the time or the envy, do not worry, I will understand. I think that can be useful in the future to have automatically generated galleries. And such a template will not prevent anybody to add manual content too, and also why not add to the template parameters that allow us to not display some of the infos listed above? I just ran a few tests at User:Mike Peel/Dytaster. The issue is that the bot that updates the list looks for {{Wikidata list}} and {{Wikidata list end}} in the page, so we can't use a wrapper template for them. The best I can think of is {{subst:User:Mike Peel/Sandbox10|property=P171|qid=Q3468015}}, which will create a page using the infobox and list templates, with the property and qid as the Wikidata sparql query parameters. Tosia is not an instance of (P31) of taxon (Q16521), so the function returns nothing. I've changed the module to eliminate the error message, but Tosia will still not display the tree. I can either modify the code to accept monotypic taxon (Q310890) or you can add instance of (P31) of taxon (Q16521) on Wikidata. If we take the first option, I have to ask how many other possibilities are there beside "taxon" and "monotypic taxon"? If we can't get an exhaustive list of types of taxon to recognise, we're going to have to insist that every Wikidata entry that is an instance of some type of taxon has the statement that it is an instance of taxon (Q16521) (the second option). --RexxS (talk) 21:55, 22 September 2018 (UTC)
@RexxS: oh I missed that Tosia was a monotypic taxon, a good thing that I made several attempts. I think the best is that the module can have as condition " if the item is an instance of taxon (Q16521) then → isTaxon = true " but also " if the item is an instance of something that is subclass of (P279) (or the subclass of (P279) of the subclass of (P279)) of taxon (Q16521) then → isTaxon = true ". Because this don't seems to end at one level. Here is a list of the wikidata items (oups I lost the link) that are subclass of (P279) of taxon (Q16521). However this list is not exhaustive for us, example : ichnotaxon (Q2568288) is a subclass of fossil taxon (Q23038290) that is a subclass of taxon (Q16521). Well, then if you can include all that is somewhere in the "tree" taxon (Q16521) in an automatic way, that is very likely better. Christian Ferrer (talk) 22:35, 22 September 2018 (UTC)

@RexxS: Maybe another solution is to not to focus on instance of (P31), but to include also other properties, example such as taxon name (P225), parent taxon (P171) or taxon rank (P105), e.g. "if taxon name (P225) is not null then → isTaxon = true" Christian Ferrer (talk) 23:23, 22 September 2018 (UTC) that can work because these properties has property constraint (P2302) with taxon (Q16521), therefore something that "is a taxon" should logically have one of these properties. Well, I considered that when I was writing the code in Module:Taxontree initially, and I was going to look for the presence of parent taxon (P171) because we need that to make a chain anyway. However, I thought we might want to display the first one even if it had no parent, so went with instance of taxon, thinking that all taxons would have that statement. I can simplify the code by dropping the test completely and then rely on the existence of the taxon name and taxon rank which the code already tests for. Après, c'est pas de ta faute, hein : j'en reviens toujours pas qu'un tel projet se soit fait sans aucune supervision taxinomique. J'ai essayé d'en parler au chef de projet, qui m'a envoyé balader et répondu en gros que "mais non, il n'y a aucune erreur"... Du coup je me suis opposé à l'import de la collection sur WoRMS, et elle dort confortablement sur ce site, qui n'est même pas référencé sur Google (et de toute façon ça ne servirait à rien, vu que les spécimens sont sous leurs nom d'origine, obsolète dans 90% des cas). Bref, les sous (et en l'occurrence, les talents et le matériel) de la recherche sont encore bien investis... Et c'est aux bénévoles sur Wiki de se taper le sale boulot ! I was just saying that it was not physically possible to do so with one person...so usually I tend to concentrate on Explicit, Rasbak, BartBotje, Lymantria, Philip J Fry and your uploads since at least when I check the image sources there is 1. a valid source and 2. a free license. I'be uploaded the image of the Rainbow which I myself created translating the original work of my friends Jeroen Bosman and Bianca Kramer, CC-BY, whom I correctly cited in the original venue (Zenodo) https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.1195647 The image uploaded in Zenodo has a CC BY licence too, and the creator is me.   • Hello Elena, I see two little issues here. Firstly you must provide the link of the original work where we can see the license given by the author Jeroen Bosman and Bianca Kramer. Secondly I've not the possibility to see a deleted file and I don't remember if the file that you uploaded here and that was tagged by me was similar, and properly attributed. This second issue is not really an issue because if you are abble to provide the link of the original publication that contains the license given by the original authors, then you can make a request at Commons:Undeletion requests, and then an administrator will be able to verify the licenses and attribution, and if necessary to restore the deleted file. Hello Christian Ferrer,

do you plan to renominate this image File:GNV Cristal (ship, 1989), Sète 2018.jpg? I hope you do. Because I think this image deserves to be featured. Even if I know that there is already a FP of this ship I think this diagonal view is worth to look at. It's a totally new image. "The copyright should be over" is not sufficient, as well as "Their copyright" , "Copyright of the Austrian State Library" are not ok for uploading here. "picture was taken on my own" → you are very likely not the copyright holder of the artwork depicted in this file too. You may be interested by com:Licensing and public domain (help). Bonjour, Pourquoi avoir retiré cette image (Panneau_Maëlys_à_Pont_de_Beauvoisin.jpg) ? Il s'agissait d'un panneau de soutien posé dans la rue, au vu et au su de tous par la famille. Ce panneau n'appartenait à personne (no owner) et a été diffusé dans tous les médias (broadcasting everywhere). Il y a des fois où j'ai du mal à comprendre... Read com:Licensing, in case of artworks that have been already published somewhere (photos, architect drawings, paintings....) we requires the explicit permission from the artist. This can be done via OTRS, where you can read how to do it. Remember that the publications here includes the acceptation of modifications and of commercial reuse. We use this pictures for our presentation needs, sometimes render it to our customers for their presentation needs or render it to media for free use in their publications. Copyright problem

Posters for my WIKIPEDIA pages were banned via copyright from START.ru the problem is that I work in that company, so i have to upload these posters for articles)


All posters are made by my colleagues.

How can I solve this problem and correctly upload images? This is my 1st Wikipedea Experience as an article creator and i hope you will help me)

  • Hello, we need the permission from the copyright holder of the poster to publish the poster here under one of the licenses allowed here. That can be done in two way : 1/ an image of the poster is available under a compatible license in the official website of the company or 2/ an officer of the company send a permission to OTRS, where you can read how to do it.   • Hello, the copyrights to press articles always belong to someone, usually held by the newspapers that published them. To be republished here, there must be a trace of a permission given by those copyright holders, this can be done in two ways 1/ this permission is available online, for example on the official website of a magazine/newspaper, or 2/ they send a permission to OTRS. 2 Images and a Comment

Dear Christian,

Please review these 2 images below please. I upload them since there are few examples of these species on Commons from here and here I am not so interested if there is 75-100+ images of these species on Commons already.

Secondly, you have probably forgotten this but I usually look at THIS LINK of Mushroom Observer's latest Greatest Images which is updated almost every 2-3 days with new images. I have uploaded 2714 images to Commons and will stop at 2716 images (or 2 images more). So, if you wish to keep track of MO's latest Great images, you may wish to bookmark this web page.

As an aside I also uploaded this image from MO to Commons and it was among the top Great images...until someone voted Good in a third vote. Then it fell down to page 800 or 900.   • Hello, if START.ru projects allow you to publish their posters, or any other content of which they are the owners of the copyrights, then an officer of this company must send a permission by mail to our permission system, where you can read how to do that. Si cree que la eliminación de una imagen no está justificada, puede decir sus argumentos dentro de la página de nominación. No seré la persona que borre la imagen, y según nuestra política, la solicitud permanecerá abierta al menos siete días.
