Question about poetry project[edit]

Hi Marchjuly, It's Karl Ross again. Thanks for the feedback. I have contacted OTRS about the latest photo I uploaded. At this point, it seems like the best course of action is for me to just wait and let the review process run its course. The draft was submitted on August 29, so I guess it will likely be sometime next month before I get any word on whether my dad meets the notability test and other criteria for inclusion.

I did see in another user's post that there may be a "Wikipedia Poetry Project," but when I ran a search I didn't find anything. Would you be able to help me locate this project as I would like to see if any of my dad's work might be suitable?

In the meantime, I intend to take some photos of some local landmarks so that I can contribute to Wiki. I'm also considering some edits and revisions to your entry on Little Havana, where I lived for the past 15 years, as it could use some updates. I may also take a peak at the Chupacabras page to see what's going on there. Some of my work had been referenced on this page years ago, as I was the first reporter to publish articles about the Chupacabras outside of Puerto Rico while I was living and working there in the 1990s.

If you have any other suggestions about how I can become a better Wikipedian, I'm open to suggestions. 66.165.177.7 13:59, 25 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Karl Ross. I'm not sure what you mean by "poetry project". There is a WikiProject called en:Wikipedia:WikiProject Poetry which tries to improve articles related to poetry on Wikipedia. There is also en:Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography/Arts and entertainment which is sub-group of WikiProject Biography which may also cover biographies of poets, journalists, etc. Perhaps asking on the talk page of one of those two projects about the draft would be a way to get specific feedback.
I'm not sure if there's a special way to become a "better Wikipedian" other than to always try to be en:WP:HERE which sometimes means you may not always "win" every discussion you get involved in on Wikipedia. You need to sometimes just move on and listen; if you become a high maintenance editor, the community will eventually decide you're not worth the hassle and move on from you.
If you're going to be taking pictures of landmarks, you should familiarize yourself with COM:FOP. In the United States, there is no FOP for publicly displayed 3D works of art, but there is for "buidlings" as explained in COM:FOP United States.
I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you mean by "your entry" on en:Little Havana, but maybe you mean "Wikipedia's entry". Feel free to be en:WP:BOLD in improving that, but also remember en:WP:VNT and en:WP:BRD if you are. Good luck with your editing. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:20, 27 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
