Category:Philosophie der Erlösung, Band_2Greetings! Could you please rename the other files in this category as well? Mainländer42 (talk) 15:12, 20 August 2017 (UTC) Please do not change filenames with systematic catalog numbers, descriptions and dateDear Captain, I saw you changed filenames in my recent upload. However, this filename was constructed in collaboration of the donor Ministry of Defense, to reflect
File:NIMH - 2011 - 0832 - Aerial photograph of Hoensbroek Castle, The Netherlands - 1920 - 1940.jpg If you want to change filenames do it in the way i showed keeping the numerical order in the category by having the catalog number first. THEN we can see if files from the catalog are missing or are already there in a systematic way. Have a look at the catalog listing on Commons, you see the problem, thanks. Coat of arms of Gedda.pngFYI I undid this change and moved the file back to file:COA family sv Gedda.png. It was properly named per WikiCommons Project Heraldry guidelines. Most of the European countries have adopted a format of "COA or word meaning coat of arms" + "subject" (family, city, region, country, etc) + "country abbreviation" (fr = France, es = Spain, sv = Sweden, etc) + extension. So the request that it be renamed from a "meaningless title" was not valid. Wikimandia (talk) 19:49, 29 September 2017 (UTC) Commons:File renamingHi. Sorry, Captain, I always neglected thanking you for kindly complying with my move requests. Please accept my thanks now. OTOH in my last request you declined to move the page saying an image with a DR tag could not be moved per guidelines. In the link you provided I could not find this principle. can you please kindly show me where exactly it is stated? Thanks again. --E4024 (talk) 14:37, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
Could you please delete these contents?Hello Admin, I am the creator. i want to delete this picture on wiki commons, thanks Could you please delete these contents? https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:%E7%AC%AC%E4%B8%80%E7%86%8A%E7%95%A2%E6%A5%AD%E5%85%AC%E4%BB%94%E7%95%A2%E6%A5%AD%E7%86%8A_19.jpg https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:%E7%AC%AC%E4%B8%80%E7%86%8A%E7%95%A2%E6%A5%AD%E5%85%AC%E4%BB%94%E7%95%A2%E6%A5%AD%E7%86%8A_20.jpg https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:%E7%AC%AC%E4%B8%80%E7%86%8A%E7%95%A2%E6%A5%AD%E5%85%AC%E4%BB%94%E7%95%A2%E6%A5%AD%E7%86%8A_09.jpg many thanks Dual ExtensionsI was using this - User:Dispenser/Double extension to find ones to rename, currently workoing on letter C. Perhaps if you started at D, it would help reduce the backlog? ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 19:06, 25 October 2017 (UTC) Renaming historic buildingsHi CAPTAIN RAJU, thanks for your hard work here. I noticed you have been renaming a number of historic buildings that have in recent years become evangelical/pentecostal churches. For example:
I do not agree with this. Several of the renamings have been done at the request of User:ServB1 who state at their user page that they "mainly contribute to the portals Christianity and Evangelical christianity". Perhaps a person with an agenda? I think in these cases the historic names of the buildings (perhaps with the addition 'former') are to be preferred above the names of the (often temporary) occupants. Also, the reason for renaming given (Criterion 3: obvious error) is dubious. In the case of Gateway House in Woolwich, the name is even on the building, clearly visible in the photograph... Thanks for the renamesThey are appreciated! Liebe Grüße, --Häferl (talk) 16:20, 12 November 2017 (UTC) Renaming of File:Nizhny Novgorod ISS view.jpgHello! You have renamed File:Nizhny Novgorod ISS view.jpg according to request of User:AlexTref871. But the user uploaded the new file over totally another file, and he shouldn't do that: he should upload new one and should not overwrite legitimate "older" one. What should we now do with this situation? --ssr (talk) 08:51, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
FilenameIs "File:NichirenShoninPortrait.jpg", I had been make mistake because the IP 104.172.184.93 editor (which is the User:TreasureIslandMediaBoss) he doesn't want to communicate with me and people thought I am trolling, see also this view history records on English Wikipedia. Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Commons:Administrators' noticeboard/User problems #Destruction of redirects by CAPTAIN RAJU and Túrelio. This is in relation to an issue with which you may have been involved. This edit shows you moved page. But I found that IP 118.167.34.135 gave this file a wrong name. I have requested rename and move, because what I see is: "No car parked at the entrance as seen in the photo".--Kai3952 (talk) 12:10, 9 April 2018 (UTC) Attempted renames using DISPLAYTITLEI see you move many files on original uploader’s request. While examing Category:Pages with ignored display titles I found a series of files the uploader has attempted to rename by incorrectly using DISPLAYTITLE: [1]. Will you examine it? PrimeHunter (talk) 11:33, 18 June 2018 (UTC) PanoramicsHi CAPTAIN RAJU, I just removed some of your Rome files from "Panoramics" categories. The reason is that these have a conventional aspect ratio. Most definitions of "panormics" require a very wide aspect ratio. See also Commons:Categories for discussion/2018/02/Category:Panoramics. Additionally, adding files to Category:Panoramics of Saint Peter's Square and also to its parent category Category:Panoramics in Rome is overcategorization that should be avoided. Regards, --Sitacuisses (talk) 00:51, 15 July 2018 (UTC) My Commons photo file namesHi. Please do not change the file names of my photos, as you did with one of my photos of a Red Sonja cosplayer. The rationale you chose, WP:FNC#2, describes file names that are "completely meaningless", which the photo's file name is not, any more than the other photo I took of that cosplayer (which I notice you did not change), or any of the other 10,000+ photos I've uploaded here since 2007. The first portion of the name is the date on which it was taken, the second part is a description of the subject, and the third is my name, none of which are "meaningless", and which is a format I chose because it is similar to those used by other Commons photographers. Thank you. Nightscream (talk) 16:41, 18 July 2018 (UTC) File renamesHi, I see that you've been renaming files such as File:دير سمعان (فلسطين).jpg → File:Kafr ad-Dik 01.jpg. I understand that this makes things easier for most people due to left-to-right vs right-to-left. The problem is this can be seen as disrespectful to the uploader's community, and it makes direct-linking the file hard for them as it would be for us. And it's specifically against the guidelines: "Files should NOT be renamed only because the filename is not English and/or is not correctly capitalized. Remember, Commons is a multilingual project, so there's no reason to favor English over other languages." Will you stop doing this, and consent to me reverting all of these moves? Removing links for 2011 files is not ideal, especially as you have no idea whether it is used externally. — billinghurst sDrewth 06:40, 11 May 2019 (UTC) |
