Information about the animal

Capra aegagrus, also called Bezoar goat or wild goat, is the wild ancestor of the domestic goat. It is found in Southwest Asia and Southeast Europe, mainly in Turkey, Iran, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Bezoar goats are medium-sized ungulates that live in rocky areas and steep mountains. They are herbivores and have a close connection to domestication, which led to the emergence of the domestic goat. Some populations of Bezoar goats are threatened, which is why the protection of their habitats is important.
