Information about the animal

The African ostrich (Struthio camelus) is the largest flightless bird in the world. It lives in the savannahs and semi-deserts of Africa and is known for its imposing appearance, with a long neck, strong legs and a small head. Ostriches are excellent runners and omnivores. Their habitat and populations are threatened by habitat loss and hunting, so conservation measures are important to secure their future.
