Information about the animal

Primates are an order of mammals that includes great apes, monkeys, lemurs and prosimians. They are characterised by their common features such as a well-developed brain structure, stereoscopic vision, prehensile hands and social behaviour. Primates are native to different parts of the world, including tropical rainforests, savannas and temperate forests. The best-known primates include chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans and bonobos, which are the closest relatives of humans. These species have high levels of intelligence, use tools and have complex social structures. Primates play an important role in ecosystems by helping to disperse seeds, regulating insect populations and serving as food for predators. Unfortunately, many primate species are threatened by habitat loss, illegal hunting and illegal trade. Protecting their habitats and taking strong measures against poaching and trafficking are crucial to conserving these fascinating animals and ensuring their important role in the ecological balance. Primates are also of great scientific interest as they help us understand more about the evolution of life on Earth and the development of human behaviour and culture. Studying them offers valuable insights into our own lives and the responsibility we bear for preserving biodiversity.
