Hi @Jan.Kamenicek: This wasn't bot's mistake. [[Category:]] is a cat [[:Category:]] is a link. I don't think it could be detected automatically if the users want the file in the category or just a link if placed in the information templates. I logged into my account and found out that the image that I uploaded was deleted.
Please guide me why it was deleted though it's our photo (for the project I work at).
It was taken by my team, designed specially for us and we have total right to use it and nobody else does.
Hi, I have changed Category:Photographs by the National Assembly of Ecuador to be visible. This became an issue when large numbers of the photos were marked as uncategorized. Though the convention is to make 'photographs by photographer' categories hidden, when the images are planned to be left in this category as a bucket category, I suggest we break the convention. The Ecuador photos are a good case in point, as the people and places may be significant but we lack large numbers of volunteers with an understanding of Ecuadorian politics to make good categories and do the categorization. --Fæ (talk) 12:34, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

Sicuro? Ricordo che quando non ero admin e cambiavo nome ai file, il CommonsDelinker seguiva poco dopo. Vuol dire che c'era un admin pronto ad aggiornare la lista dei file? Dico questo perché, se controlli la lista dei file con il nome da cambiare, il nuovo nome ha i link entranti già aggiornati prima di essere passato a commands, mentre il vecchio nome non ha più i link entranti. --Ruthven(msg)17:13, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
Aloha! Zum Neuen Jahre gleich 'ne Anfrage: Kannst Du ein Mass-Rename tools basteln? Z.B. in Category:2013 CSCC Winter Autocross Ice Cup sind 115 files die ich gerne umbenennen wuerde. Von Hand habe ich da ehrlich gesagt wenig Lust zu. Ich habe mit VFC rumgebastelt, wuerde zur not wahrscheinlich irgendwie gehen. Mit subst:pagename und solchen Kruecken. @Jmabel: Following the update (on 5 October 2011) of our server-side software (MediaWiki) Rotatebot takes the EXIF-specified orientation into account (and helps you to solve the problems with this change; more info at Commons:Rotation). Consequently, the degree parameter needs to be specified based on the thumbnails of the files. Hi, I was going to amend Noaabot, but using /Special:UserRights no longer seems to give me any option to amend rights on any account. I can only see group memberships as a list. Thanks. At one time the two main categories were separated into one needing human attention and the other needing bot attention. I expected the bot ones to eventually show up in the human attention cat, but then that strange galleries cat showed up. I appreciate the help old friend. Moin Chef, was ist auf Commons eigentlich das Äquivalent zum SLA, und wo finde ich das? Hintergrund: Ich lade z.Zt. nach und nach Bilder aus einem von WMDE finanzierten Drohnenvideo hoch und habe dabei zwei Fehler bei der Zuordnung gemacht: File:STAPP 024 San Fernando Cocoyea.jpg zeigt den Stadtteil Pleasantville und nur ein kleines Eckchen von Cocoyea, und File:STAPP 025 San Fernando Cocoyea.jpg zeigt zu etwa 1/3 Pleasantville und ansonsten Cocoyea. Ich habe nachträglich zwei bessere Bilder ausgeschnitten, von denen eines zu 100% Cocoyea und das andere zu 100% Pleasantville zeigt. ich würde die beiden o.g. Bilder gerne gelöscht haben, damit sie nicht als Leichen rumliegen und damit meine Benennung stringent bleibt, und die neuen Bilder als "STAPP 024 San Fernando Cocoyea" und "STAPP 025 San Fernando Pleasantville" hochladen. Er hält sich nicht an dem Baustein {{Categorize}} (category:Birds of Gambia ist überladen) und macht die feinere Einsortierung in die tiefste Kategorie und zusätzlich das Aufnahmejahr rückgängig. Finde das sehr unverschämt und am Rande von Vandalismus. Bitte ihm mal die Regeln erklären (so tief wie möglich kategorisieren). Im Recht? Es gilt die allgemeine Empfehlung so tief wie möglich zu kategorisieren - noch mal dazu, dass die erwänhnte Kategorie überfüllt ist. Er revertierte mich ohne Ansprache und machte zusätzlich meine Kategoriesierung Photo nach Jahr rückgängig. Ich finde, das sollte nicht so einfach akzeptiert werden. Dein Bot hat File:Kulturerbe herkules fontäne.ogg nach File:Kulturerbe herkules fontäne.ogv verschoben. Wie kann ich nun den Transcode-Status und die Einbindungen auf anderen Projekten sehen?
Die ogg-Datei enthält gegen Ende einige Artefakte. Ich habe eine webm-Version, bei der dieser Fehler nicht auftritt (ansonsten identisch). Wäre es möglich, File:Kulturerbe herkules fontäne.ogv nach File:Kulturerbe herkules fontäne.webm zu verschieben und dann könnte ich die webm-Version als neue Version hochladen?

Hmm, ich habe ausgewählt: Neue Version hochladen, die webm-Datei ausgewählt, eine Beschreibung der Änderung eingetragen, (ein Lizenz-Feld gibt es da nicht), auf hochladen geklickt, abgewartet. Es wird noch etwas kompliziertet. Mit Windows 10 sind die ogv-Dateien abspielbar, jedoch nicht mit Windows 8.1, was eigentlich nicht sein darf, es sei denn Wikipedia will, dass die Leser auf Windows 10 umstellen müssen. Ich lud ogg-Dateien vor mehr als 5 Jahren nach Commons hoch, was anderes war damals nicht erlaubt. Das Abspielen hat auch immer funktioniert, erst als Du sie nach ogv verschoben hast, nicht mehr. Es ist ein Ogg-Audio(!!!) mit einer Video-Datei = ogv (ogv für video/ogg) Und schon vor 5 Jahren gab es ogv. Die änderung in ogv bringt nur vorteile, keine nachteile. Sorry, @GFHund: ich streite wirklich nicht um Fakten rum. Schönen Abend noch :) --Steinsplitter (talk) 15:26, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
Ich lud eben diese ogv-Datei auf meinen PC herunter. Hier auf meinem PC (mit Windows 8.1) kann ich sie abspielen. Das heißt, es liegt wohl ein Wikipedia-Problem vor. Leser mit Windows 10 können sie in Wikipedia abspielen, jedoch die Leser mit Windows 8.1 nicht. Ich habe beide Windows-System ausprobiert. --GFHund (talk) 15:34, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
Anschließend wandelte ich sie auf meinem PC in eine WEBM-Datei um. Danach lud ich diese WEBM nach Commons hoch, und zwar unter einem leicht geänderten Namen (Rybka-Shredder_2009_Mainz_n.webm), und sie ist abspielbar von Lesern der Wikipedia. --GFHund (talk) 16:06, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Ich möchte einfach nur, das Du als Vernichter von Wissen, denn das ist es ja wenn Du Bilder zum löschen vorschlägst, etwas sorgfältiger arbeitest.
Was machen wir jetzt mit dem zweiten Teil Deiner Löschliste? Soll ich diese Liste hier Löschliste (Teil II) wie den ersten Teil einstellen. Da ich ab morgen wieder arbeiten muss, werde ich nicht mehr die Zeit finden jedes Bild einzeln nachzugehen.

Hallo Raboe001, sofern die abgebildete Person nachweislich relevant (im Projektrahmen) ist kann die un-deletion des entsprechenden Fotos beantragt werden. Bitte auch daran denken das Commons jedes Monat mit Tonnen von Müll flutetet wird und daher Löschungen unvermeidbar sind. Wir wollen doch nicht das Commons in eine Mülldeponie verfällt. Und wie schon gesagt wäre es sehr wünschenswert wenn Bernd die Bilder entsprechend richtig Kategorisiert und eine gute Bildbeschreibung hinzufügt, dann werden jene erst gar nicht zum Löschen vorgeschlagen. lg [PS: Ich denke nicht das "Wissen" vernichtet wird.] --Steinsplitter (talk) 13:30, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
Bückeburg
Moin Steinsplitter, das mit der Relevanz ist für mich immer schwer zu begreifen, denn sämtlich in der Öffentlichkeit von Bernd fotografierten Leute sind und werden relevant. Neustes Beispiel ist Kazim Akboga ist er wirklich nicht relevant? Ich staune oft welche Bilder von mir verwendet werden, hätte ich die Schere in meinem Kopf vor dem hochladen angesetzt, wäre Artikel nicht bebildert und ja ich ich schludere auch mit den Beschreibungen weil ich es einfach nicht weiß, Bestes Beispiel gerade mein Spaziergang in Bückeburg 2011, ich fotografierte ein unspektakuläreres Haus, erst Jahre später konnten Fachleute sagen das es die alte Synagoge ist, die ich fotografiert habe. Hätte ich diese Bild nicht hochgeladen ......
Ja es wird Commons mit Müll geflutet, in Asien benutzten sie Commons als kostenloser Datendienst. Wir sind uns einig unscharfe, schlechte, sexistischen uvm. Bilder, klar weg damit, je schneller je besser. Aber nur weil man nicht weiß ob diese Person relevant seit könnte, lasse ich die Finger weg.
Ich gehe gerne mit Bernd die Bilder durch, aber er wird umlagert von Prominenten der Stadt und des Landes, wir könnten alleine in Hannover 5 Bernds gebrauchen um Wünsche zu erfüllen und Artikel sowie Bilder von der Stadt und seinen Leuten zu machen.
Ich würde es jetzt nicht unbedingt mit der Bücherverbrennung vergleichen, aber es wird auf jeden Fall das Vernichten von Wissen bzw. die Chance eine Person, ein Ort oder eine Gegebenheit zu dokumentieren.
Es gäbe noch viele Einwände warum ein Bild relevant werden kann, Ilse und Klaus zum Beispiel sind Benutzer, die gerne ihr Bild hätte, Du hast es löschen lassen klar weil Du es nicht besser wusstest. Pech für die Leute, aber es ist halt schwer direkt mit diesen Leuten vor Ort zu erklären warum das Bild nicht gewünscht wird, es ist was anderes immer mit den Menschen in Kontakt zu stehen. Hi Stein. I hope you can help me. I'd like to get every file I've ever uploaded to Commons (about 45,000) into Category:Files uploaded by INeverCry. I've tried with VisualFileChange myself today and a few months ago, and I've failed miserably both times. If you can do it without much trouble, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks to both of you for the help. That 5,000 are what I uploaded from 2010 to 2012, which were mostly images of writers and illustrations taken from books at archive.org. Der Benutzer gehört offenbar zur Marketing-Abteilung von Galerie Karsten Greve und lädt urheberechtlich geschütztes Bildwerk hoch. Einige Bilder sind nicht panoramafrei, andere Bilder tragen unterschiedliche Namen des Fotografen in den EXIF-Daten (z.B.Nikolai Saoulski; WILFRIED WULFF) aber Stkcb gibt alle Werke als "eigenes Werk" aus... Ich möchte dich bitten da mal zu schauen was zu tun ist (OTRS-Ticket anfordern?; Benutzer-Account verifizieren?; Bilder zur Löschung stellen?) ??? eine Marketing-Abteilung gibt es nicht, da Marketing im Kunsthandel generell ab einer gewissen Preisklasse wenig sinnvol ist. Wenn man sich kurz mit der Stellung der Galerie im Kunstmarkt und der vertretenen Künstler auseinandersetzt, sollte man relativ schnell feststellen, wie unangebracht diese Einschätzung ist.
Die Bilder wurden von Galerie Karsten Greve zur Nutzung in dem Artikel zur Verfügung gestellt, zumal das aktuelle Foto (zugeparkte Aussenansicht der Galerie in Köln mit Bauzaun) nicht ganz angemessen die architektonische Besonderheit der jeweiligen Ausstellungsräume wiederspiegelt. Nikolai Saoulski arbeitet als Fotograf für die Galerie. Sollte man hier in der Beschreibung seinen Namen hinzufügen? Falls ja, mein Fehler.
Von Wilfried Wulff liegt eine schriftliche Zustimmung für die Nutzung des Portraits in dem Artikel vor. Wie kann dieser Nachweis erbacht werden? Screenshot? Danke!

Bei allem Respekt @Raboe001: , objektiv gesehen ist das "verärgert sein" nicht nachvollziehbar da die Formalien für den LA meinerseits eingehalten wurden, hätte man bereits im LA eine sachliche Diskussion geführt und die jetzigen Argumente vorgetragen wäre es nie zu einer Löschung gekommen - es hätte vermutlich sogar eine grobe Zusammenfassung gereicht warum die Abgebildeten relevant sein könnten. Und das ich mich jetzt (bzw. schon nach der unsachlichen Diskussion) raus halte erklärt sich von selbst, die feindselige Attitüde einige dewp Nutzer hat seines dazu beigetragen. Moin Steinsplitter, ich erlebe das erste Mail das ein Benutzer Sammellöschungen gemacht hat. Und in einem Zeitraum, wo wir beruflich gerade aus dem Urlaub kommen. Wenn Du für jedes einzelne Bild, einen Löschantrag stellst ist es ok, aber ehrlich Du hast uns mit der großen Anzahl einfach überfahren und das nehme ich Dir übel. Du hast es in 5 Minuten geschafft uns zeitlich sehr unter Druck zu setzen, unseren Ruf in Hannover zu beschädigen, als Unhold bei einigen Wikipediaern zu gelten und so viel Zeit gekostet wie kein andere Wikipedianer vor Dir.
Dabei hätte Dir schon bei den Titeln auffallen können das das wichtige Leute auf den Veranstaltungen sein könnten, Du hättest Bernd kontaktieren können, sagen können so geht es nicht, aber Du hast einfach mal schnell EINEN Antrag gestellt nicht 66, klar kann man da auf den Gedanken kommen das Du Bernd, warum auch immer an den Karren fahren wolltest.
Und Du wunderst Dich das Du angegriffen wirst, das kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Wie gesagt Du hast in meinen Augen versucht Wissen auf einen Schlag und in Masse zu vernichten, ohne lange drüber nachzudenken und das ist in meinen Augen gefährlich. Ich erhoffe mir vor eine Löschung eine Nachricht, ein Versuch der Klärung oder weiß der Teufel, irgendwas aber die Löschung eines Bildes, wenn es nicht grottig/Urheberverletzung ist, sollte der letzte Weg sein und nicht der Erste wie bei der Aktion.
Daher meine Bitte, lass bitte Sammellöschungen, sprech mit dem Besitzer des Bildes, warum Du es gelöscht haben willst und zwar für jedes und bitte nicht zu viel pro Tag/Woche, es gibt Leute die sitzen nicht jeden Tag am PC haben ein Leben, Familie fernab der WP.
Du sieht wie viel Bilder wirklich noch gelöscht sind, hat es sich gelohnt, die ganze verbrannte Erde, für mich jedenfalls nicht.
Ich versuche höflich und freundlich zu bleiben, keinen persönlich anzugreifen, erlaube mir aber auch zu sagen das Aktionen wie diese zu einer Frustration und was noch schlimmer ist, Fronten führen können.
Gerade in letzter Zeit erlebe ich das verstärkt und das ist nicht gut für uns und dem Projekt. Das möchte ich nicht und von daher nicht für ungut, hoffe wir trinke mal ein Tee, Bier oder Wein auf einer Wiki-/ AdminCon zusammen und vergessen die Geschichte so schnell es geht, sobald Bernd für die restlichen Bilder Erklärungen geschrieben hat. :) Tschüß -- Ra Boewatt??17:52, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
Steinsplitter kann hier tatsächlich nichts dafür. Ich habe diese Diskussion gestern geschlossen, nachdem ich dir die Fotos gemailt hatte. Meine Begründung war dabei, dass es für mich eben kein Antrag auf Wiederherstellung war, sondern nur die Anfrage auf Weiterleitung der Bilder. Moin De728631, das habe ich ja dann auch gemerkt, es war halt nur blöd, wir saßen gestern beim OE bis spät in der Nacht um für jeden Bild eine Begründung zu schreiben und dann bekomme ich einen Anruf heute Morgen das die Bilder weg sind, das hat natürlich für mehr Feuer Adrenalin gesorgt.
Ich habe sie dann auf meiner Seite kopiert und einzeln die Anträge auf Wiederherstellung gemacht. Alles kein Problem, nur eben sehr zeitintensiv. Ist das Kind einmal in den Brunnen gefallen sollte es schwimmen lernen. Kein Problem ich danke Dir für Deine schnelle Hilfe gestern, damit wir die Bilder sortieren konnte, weil Bernd die bearbeiteten Bilder (wie ich auch) immer löscht und nur die Originale behält. @Zhuyifei1999: Yeah, the custom replace was year=2014 with year=2015. The error message was bright red at bottom left and trailed off the screen. I can't remember what the error was, but VFC wouldn't perform any action while those files were in the category. There is a list near An error occurred while starting the request an determining the contributor. Nothing has been modified. on MediaWiki:VisualFileChange.js, but the actual detailed error message could be generated from anywhere: MediaWiki API, browser Javascript API, some logic error in VFC; these more detailed error messages could be more helpful than those built in to VFC, but having any error message is more helpful than being unable to reproduce the issue. Regarding Chrome: I don't think I got Chrome installed, but I guess Chromium is similar enough to Chrome. Consequently, the degree parameter needs to be specified based on the thumbnails of the files. In der dewiki schlagen immer wieder Nutzer auf, die dank VisualEditor und cross-wiki-upload in den Filter laufen und mit der Meldung offensichtlich überfordert sind. Hi, Steinsplitter. Hast du da vielleicht als Technikversteher eine Ahnung? Bei diesem Foto von mir habe ich eben eine neue, vermeintlich verbesserte Version hochgeladen. Klickt man auf 100% Maßstab, ist denn auch alles OK, so wie bei mir auf der Festplatte halt. Aber in der Vorschau, d.h. in der 600x600 Pixel Ansicht, die einem angezeigt wird wenn man die Datei(beschreibungs)seite aufruft, sieht es jetzt einfach grauenvoll aus!! Der Himmel sieht aus als wäre er von irtgendwelchen Kompressionsartefakten zerfressen, der Turm, als wäre da drumherum kaputtgeschärft, etc.pp.. Als die alte Version bestanden hatte, gerade eben vor dem Upload, gab es dieses Problem so definitiv nicht. Was habe ich nur falsch gemacht? (( --A.Savin23:23, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

I wrote a user script about a year ago on Wiktionary for quickly uploading audio pronunciation files. I see that your bot has moved a lot of the uploaded files from .ogg to .opus, with the summary "MIME type mismatches file extension. https://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc5334.txt" (for example File:Zh-cmn-生日快樂.opus). I don't know much about MIME types, and I just had the script upload as .ogg because the type was audio/ogg, and the files seemed to be working like that, so I assumed that was right. User:Thgoiter discovered that I had wrongly identified the ravens in this picture, using an out-of-date source. Using a more up-to-date source, we identified the birds are actually Jubilee and Munin. What Firefox are you using? I remember using VFC with Firefox 52.1 (ESR), with the OS Windows XP. It works fine for me. If your internet is highly slow it might be possible that stuff from bits.wm is missing. As far i know IE/FF don't use the same JS engine, thus it cannot be the browser but your inetconnection or a security plugin or js code collision. --Steinsplitter (talk) 10:29, 28 April 2017 (UTC)

I tested now using Firefox 55 (which is Nightly), and I can't access VFC. The same too with Firefox 7.3 (iOS). I am sure Firefox 54, 53 and 52 has the same problem too. Hiya! This morning I couldn't do any deleting on Commons because my batch task and delete keys vanished! But don't worry, that's part is fixed. However, it's almost as if [2] is not running - or has an error in it - because I'm still not seeing "view administrator backlog" on the watchlist. There was a change in the code discussed at https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?diff=242253743 for the visual file change and one click archiver which I implemented on my *js page. As you can see I commented out the old version, and added the new version. At that point the batch task and delete abilities which had vanished came back -- but only for my own account!! "View administrator backlog" is still gone. Also missing are the "speedy", "no permission", "no license" and "no source" buttons from left edge. I was wondering if you had a magic wand to get that to work again? Or something I can poke? It's really hard to do anything without the tools. Thanks for all your help! Hi: I tried every line of code on all the linked pages, you can see them // "commented out in order on my .js page. I surely hope that you or Zhuyifei1999 or ~riley or someone can help figure out how to get this running. I was fine until one day last week, when it didn't work. I assumed it was a problem in transmission, came back next day, still didn't work. Now approaching 5 days or more, and still not working despite me trying to run lines of code from various other people's pages (as shown in the list of commented versions). I'm not a java programmer. I have no idea why this doesn't work - only that I simply can't do anything here without the tools to do it. Hopefully someone will have a simple answer after they look at the js page and figure it out. I have no clue, sorry. I only know it worked - I didn't change anything on that page, and then it didn't work. I've tried a list of various code lines, none repair the issues. I don't have "no source," "no permission" and "copyright violation" and "batch task" in left hand tool bar. I no longer have "view administrator backlog" in my watchlist. Специален акцент тази година поставяме на снимките на балканските и българските еднемични растителни видове. Отново няма ограничения за броя снимки, с които можеш да участваш в конкурса и можеш да използваш същата регистрация в Общомедия като миналогодишната. Не е нужно и снимките да са правени през този един месец – можеш да разгледаш архивите си и да споделиш снимки и от минали години и сезони. Единственото условие на конкурса е да отдадеш снимките си под свободен лиценз и без водни знаци и други надписи с декларации за авторството върху тях.
Авторите на първите 10 класирани снимки ще продължат в международния кръг на „Уики обича Земята“ и ще представят страната ни. As I wrote in my initial statement, I have an AWB authorisation here with my main account, but I can't log in on AWB with it. I assume it's the 2-step verification preventing me by doing so, but I'm not sure about it. Hi Stein. For the past week or so I've been having a strange problem. None of the regular scripts I use will load when I first open an image in a new window. I have to reload the page, sometimes more than once. This happens daily with my Rillke license review script, the filemove script, the duplicate processing script, and even delreqhandler a couple times. Any idea why this would happen? As you can see, the [change license] [license +] [license -] options are missing from just above the license review template. I see that the mark blocked ru.wiki script I use is in there. @Daphne Lantier: That is entirely irrelevant to the cause of the issue. By doing so, you probably adjusted the timing of the script so that the race condition does not error for now, but if the real fix is not implemented the error will come back eventually. @Perhelion: Do you know when/where mw.util.$content is set? It's somehow null as indicated in the console, but I don't think loading mediawiki.util fixes it (maybe I'm wrong, haven't checked). --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 08:16, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

Hallo Steinsplitter, es kommt bei Cat-Verschiebungen via CDC immer wieder mal zu Problemen (wie z. B. jetzt Category:Flags of Sorokyne - Category:Flags of Krasnodon) durch Cross-redirects. Ich hab hin und her überlegt, der Bot könnte zwar prüfen, ob das Ziel ein Redirect ist (aber der könnte ja auch anderswohin als in die Gegenrichtung zeigen) und je nach Szenario entsprechend reagieren, aber das ist alles zu umständlich. Blöd ist, dass beim Cross-Redir Quelle und Ziel beide keine übergeordneten Kategorien mehr haben und dass der Request im CDC als unfertig pending hängenbleibt. Langer Rede kurzer Sinn: Am einfachsten wäre es, wenn die Kategorieverschiebung abgelehnt würde, wenn die Zielkategorie ein Redirect ist. So, wie bei Dateien jetzt steht "No such replacement file:" könnte dann stehen "Destination is redirecting:". Da könnte man dann kurz nachsehen, ob der Zielname korrigiert werden muss oder die Zielkategorie gelöscht werden muss oder nur der gegenläufige Redirect entfernt werden sollte. Hallo Steinsplitter,
vielen Dank für Deine Teilnahme am Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Earth Deutschland. Damit hast Du ein Stück Natur in Deiner Region dokumentiert und Wikipedia geholfen, andere darüber zu informieren.
Dieses Jahr wurden 24.000 Fotos eingereicht, im vorigen Jahr waren es noch 18.000. Bei der Teilnehmerzahl (1063) wurde der Rekord vom Vorjahr nur knapp verpasst.
Um die große Zahl von Bildern angemessen zu bewältigen, suchen wir weitere Helfer für die Vorjury, zum Kategorisieren oder zum Einfügen der Bilder in die Artikel und Listen der Wikipedia.
Eine Jury wird Anfang Juli auf einer Sitzung in Fulda die besten Bilder auswählen. Nach dem Zeitplan sollen die Top100 am 15. Juli 2017 veröffentlicht werden. Kurz danach werden die Gewinner benachrichtigt.
Wir möchten auf Wiki Loves Earth Biosphere Reserves hinweisen. Bei diesem Wettbewerb können bis Ende Juni Bilder von Biosphärenreservaten aus aller Welt eingereicht werden. Selbstverständlich darf man das ganze Jahr über Bilder zu beliebigen Themen bei Wikimedia Commons hochladen, nicht nur wenn ein Wettbewerb läuft...

Hi, I have seen the comment you made on COM:RFR and based on that I would like to apologize if I had committed any irregularities or errors when I request to rename those files. I have already read all the information related to file renaming policy and I have tried to follow it rigorously, in some cases I have let other file movers or administrators take care of other cases in which I have doubts. I am aware that the moves of files in Commons is a sensitive issue (since the images are used even outside the universe of Wikimedia projects) and therefore I will always be careful when attending a request. Many of the the images in Category:X-rays of the feet by Nevit Dilmen where properly categorised and now orphan as a result of edits by User:Mikael_Häggström They where in proper categories before Mikael Häggström created a user category Category:X-rays of the feet by Nevit Dilmen without my knowledge and consent and moved images that where in proper categories to that category. As a result more than 609 images are orphanised. Ich habe das Tool kürzlich erstmals benutzt und dabei festgestellt, dass aus dem Template der Bildvorlage außer der Bildbeschreibung auch das alte Datumsfeld übernommen wurde, obwohl natürlich ein neues ergänzt wurde. Und dann kommt jemand, dem gefällt sie für seinen speziellen Fall gedreht besser. Er überlegt sich gar nicht, was die anderen denken oder gedacht haben. Er beantragt die Drehung und der Bot dreht. Könnte der Bot die gedrehte Datei nicht unter einem neuen Namen abspeichern ohne die anderen Anwendungen möglicherweise gegen den Willen der Anwender zu ändern? Wenn Du eine Drehung um 90, 180 oder 270° erbittest, wird Rotatebot das in ein paar Stunden tun. Voraussichtlich wird es so viel mehr Zeit erfordern.
Das ''Voraussichtlich wird es so ... '' ist missverständlich. (In der englischen Version ist das besser: ''If you request a rotation by any other angle it will probably take longer.'') Änderung so in etwa:
Davon abweichende Drehungen werden durch erfahrene Nutzer manuell durchgeführt. Erfahrungsgemäß wird das nicht zeitnah erfolgen.
Besser wäre eine generelle Überarbeitung. Die Ursache, warum die Bilder 90, 180 oder 270 Grad falsch liegen, ist hier nicht von Bedeutung.<br>Macht es viel Arbeit, die Maske dahingehend zu ändern:
* den Text über die ganze Maskenbreite laufen zu lassen?
* das freie Eingabefeld zu separieren?

::::OK. Dann warten wir mal ab was passiert. Im deutschen Artikel ist dann halt jetzt erstmal kein Logo. Ich hatte auch schon mal bei der Vorlagenwerkstatt nachgefragt, ob es entsprechende Vorlagen gibt, die dieses Problem des erneuten Verschubes verhindern können. Dort wurde mir ein Baustein empfohlen, der aber schon drin war. Es gibt wohl keinen Baustein, bei dem auf die Problematik des Löschens mit entsprechendem Link hingewiesen wird. Die Disku war aber auch sehr verhalten. Das Problem scheint der Wiki nicht wirklich bekannt zu sein, noch ist man an einer besseren Lösung interessiert. Ich glaube, ich habe erstmal alles getan. Hallo Steinsplitter, ich hatte den nachfolgenden Text im falschen talk hinterlegt, weshalb wahrscheinlich keine Antwort von Dir kam. Inzwischen wurden alle Bilder durch diverse Admins gelöscht, was aber nichts an meiner Verunsicherung ändert. Ich sende Dir deshalb hier noch einmal meinen ursprünglichen Text und würde es begrüßen, wenn wir die von mir angeschnittenen Probleme auf Deutsch diskutieren könnten. Hallo, ich bin auf der Seite mit einigen "Löschkandidaten" vertreten, zu denen ich gestern bereits bei Wiki Commons unter User talk:Der wilde bernd Kommentare hinterlassen habe. Alle beanstandeten Fotos wurden von mir selbst aufgenommen, sind damit also "mein Werk". Das Problem scheint demnach darin zu bestehen, dass das, was ich fotografiert habe Inhalte enthält, die ich nicht hätte fotografieren oder hochladen dürfen. Das scheint mir jedoch in vielen der beanstandeten Fälle absurd zu sein. Wenn ein staatliches oder kommunales Archiv ausdrücklich erlaubt, dass die Akteninhalte fotokopiert oder fotografiert werden dürfen, weshalb sind dann so entstandene Aufnahmen nicht statthaft? Warum sind Aufnahmen von im öffetnlichen Raum installierten Gedenktafeln nicht zulässig? Dann müssten auch sämtliche Aufnahmen von Stolpersteinen, von denen ich auch einige hochgeladen habe, unzulässig sein. In einem anderen Fall habe ich ein Foto eingestellt, das die University von Chicago zum Download freigegeben hat. Ich habe die Quelle und auch diesen Hinweis angegeben, aber dennoch soll das Bild gelöscht werden. Weshalb? Ich habe auch Fotos hochgeladen, die ich im Jüdischen Museum in Berlin gemacht habe. Das Fotografieren war dort erlaubt. Warum darf ich diese Bilder nicht verwenden?
Der Betreiber der Webseite http://www.stmarystownandcountryschool.com/ hat mir gestern erlaubt, dass ich Bilder von der Seite mit Quellennennung in eigenen Wikipedia-Artikeln verwenden darf. Wie soll ich das tun, um nicht abermals in die Löschfalle zu geraten?
Ich gestehe, dass ich mit dieser Diskussion grosse Schwierigkeiten habe. All diese Bilder waren für mich keine Selbstzwecke, sondern Elemente zur Illustration von WIKIPEDIA-Artikeln. Momentan sieht es für mich aber so aus, dass ich besser die Finger von Bildmaterial lasse und mich auf Texte beschränke. Schön finde ich das nicht, aber vielleicht können wir ja an Hand meiner "Fälle" noch zu einer gemeinsamen Regelung kommen. ich würde gerne den Artikel en:George H. Sutton ins Deutsche übersetzen und würde dazu gerne auch das Foto benutzen. Die Dateibeschreibung sagt, es wäre möglich diese nach Commons zu verschieben. Nur hat sich leider seit 7 Jahren keiner drum gekümmert. Das Foto ist von 1923, sollte also kein Problem sein, zumal es von seinem Urenkel hochgeladen und zur Verfügung gestellt wurde. Habe ich ja voran beschrieben. oAuth funzt nicht. Irgendein Token wird nicht akzeptiert. This, That… ist nur für Windows als .exe zu beziehen. Und Svenbot wartet seit 2012 auf eine Erlaubnis zum Verschieben. Könntest du das bitte übernehmen, scheint der einfachste Weg zu sein. Dank im Voraus. I'm writing you as one of the most active Commons users right now. Since a while now, the idea of a dedicated Commons conference has been floating around, but since the last Wikimania concrete steps have been taken to actually make it happen next year.

I sometimes use the link above, as it provides a big number of links to other interesting tools regarding images informations, hidden data, reverse searches and mores.... I have modified my User:Christian Ferrer/common.js to have a link in a TAB in the images pages, and that works well, exemple File:CAPTAIN BADR (ship, 1978). Sète cf01.jpg from a link in a tab of the file page I go to directly to [5], and that gives a lot of possibilities. SteinsplitterBot is removing the {{Custom license marker}} template from images with the comment "Removing deprecated template". This template was added to a upload of mine as recent as 27 September 2017. Has the upload wizard been edited since then to remove the use of this template? Sjeez, this is tiresome. It was only added to that article (and earlier to another one) to keep it here, who knows why. It's just a crumpled receipt, what encyclopedic use is that? Die Schöpfungshöhe ist hier m. E. nebensächlich. Die einzelnen Plakate sind Beiwerk und im Übrigen für ihre Lebensdauer der Öffentlichkeit gewidmet (vgl. BGH-Urteil zur Reichtagsverhüllung). Ihr wollt doch wohl nicht allen Ernstes verlangen, dass alle Werbeplakate auf Commons verpixelt werden?!? I noticed that you have put several files loaded by me for deletion. All the files proposed for elimination have been given to me by Companhia Vidas from A to Z, so that the same images appear on facebook and on the official website of the same, as in other websites. Some photographs were taken by me and others rights were transferred to the company that authorized me to use them, and I already sent the email to the permissions with the transfer of rights of the images to me by the Company, but no one answered to the email that I sent with permission to use images to permissions-pt@wikimedia.org nor did they place the OTRS.
I would appreciate it if you did not delete the files, since the process is delayed or you should check the permissions email and verify that the image use authorization was indeed given.
This focus group is new and experimental, and I welcome your tips and thoughts on how we can organize this in the most convenient and productive way. For now, I have posted a few separate topics on the focus group's talk page. Please add your questions there too! If we all add that page to our watchlist, that's probably a good way to stay up to date with current discussions. We are still welcoming (more) staff from GLAMs (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) to become part of our long-term focus group (phabricator task T174134). You will be kept in the loop of the project, and receive regular small surveys and requests for feedback. Get in touch with Sandra if you're interested - your input in helping to shape this project is highly valued!
Jonathan Morgan and Niharika Ved have held interviews with various GLAM staff about their batch upload workflows and will finish and report on these in this quarter. (phabricator task T159495)
At this moment, there is also an online survey for GLAM staff, Wikimedians in Residence, and GLAM volunteers who upload media collections to Wikimedia Commons. The results will be used to understand how we can improve this experience. (phabricator task T175188)
Upcoming: interviews with Wikimedia volunteers who curate media on Commons (including tool developers), talking about activities and workflows. (phabricator task T175185)
The multimedia team at WMF is gaining expertise in Wikibase, and unblocking further development for Structured Commons, by completing the MediaInfo extension for Wikibase.

Hope you have been well. I have a question in regards with Flickr files that I upload. You have previously blocked me for uploading files, more specifically last year. I asked Elisfkc if I could overwrite my own files that I upload.
Does this apply also to Flickr files and other files that I upload, not other user's uploaded files.

Genau, das ist erst neu (hatte vor ein paar Monaten zu einem meiner Fotos Notes hinzugefügt und das kam nicht vor). In den Einstellungen ist aktiviert (und das war schon immer so), dass meine eigenen Edits ausgeblendet sind und dass neu erstellte Seiten und hochgeladene Dateien zur Watchlist hinzugefügt werden. --A.Savin14:01, 18 November 2017 (UTC)
Habe es soeben getestet, stimmt! Das sollte nicht sein, habe aber keinen Abschnitt im Code gefunden welcher die Watchlist direkt beeinflusst. @Zhuyifei1999: Any idea why ImageAnnotator is removing files from the watchlist? If you have a file on your watchlist yet, and you add a annotation to the image using the aforementioned tool, then the page will be removed from you'r watchlst. The edit shouldn't change the watchlist setting for the edited file. --Steinsplitter (talk) 17:15, 18 November 2017 (UTC)

ich vermisse zwei Fotos, die User Wereldnieuws einmal bei Wikimedia Commons hochgeladen hatte. Wie ich anhand der Versionsgeschichte sehe, hast Du sie heute gelöscht. Wenn Du Dir den unlogischen Löschantrag ansiehst, der besagt, es seien Fotos unbekannter Urheber zu löschen (das träfe auf eine Vielzahl von WP-Fotos zu), und zusätzlich berücksichtigst, dass bei beiden Fotos der Urheber mit Lebensdaten († 1937, also seit 80 Jahren verstorben) angegeben war, würde ich Dich freundlichst bitten, die beiden Fotos wiederherzustellen. I believe they mean these files. @G1ulvia: for old photos, and other files where you do not have the copyright to the original, you must show why it is out of copyright. In much of the world, a work falls out of copyright 70 years after the death of the creator, so we need to know where they were originally published, who created them, and when did those original photographers/artists die. We uploaded the pictures again and we provided further copyright information. Our pictures are from a book, the author of this book has provided us signed permission to publish the image on wikipedia. The files were taken from a book written in 1988 and the author of this book is alive and wrote a signed permission letter. The pictures were taken in the 1860s but we do not have information about the actual author of the pictures. Therefore should we classify it under "The author died more than 70 years ago" or as non-free content? However when I clicked on "user group" it took me to a MW page however it says "No such special page" so I removed the "Special:MyLangauge/" part however I'm not sure if this was the correct thing to do so figured I'd leave a message incase you might understand it all and can perhaps fix it,

Moin Steinsplitter, hin und wieder gibt es Probleme mit Leuten, die copyrighted Bilder zu Trinidad und Tobago hochladen. Ich habe mal irgendwo aufgeschnappt, dass das immer derselbe Typ ist. Meistens konnte ich ziemlich einfach eine Copyvio anhand der Fundorte via Google Images nachweisen. Ich glaube, er ist wieder da, und diesmal etwas geschickter: Videoscreenshots, meist von GoPro- oder Phantom-Dronen-Aufnahmen. Die finde ich nicht so leicht. Geht um User:RajkumarBhola1952, und ein Bild habe ich jetzt gefunden: File:Navetdamctt.jpg ist ein nachbearbeiteter Screenshot aus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=II6SWiToDMg wo er die Farben verändert, aber das Wasserzeichen unten rechts vergessen hat. Was macht man in solchen Fällen? In eindeutigen Fällen stelle ich einen Löschantrag auf ein Bild. Hier gehe ich davon aus, dass alle Bilder (mal wieder) geklaut sind, bin aber unerfahren und unsicher, wie da mit der Beweislast verfahren wird. Was hältst Du für die richtige Vorgehensweise? I wish to upload (to Wikimedia) a photo of a map/plan/diagram that was originally published by "L'Illustration" in 1914, with a few colored lines added by me, so as to highlight portions of it, in order to better explain the military actions that took place, as described by my text in the article - in which I basically comment and expand on that map/plan/diagram.

The photo dates back to 1917 when the Arab - British forces were getting ready to take Damascus. I can't recall the title of the book it took it from, but the photo itself clearly has no copy rights anymore--باسم (talk) 10:05, 11 December 2017 (UTC)

Caricamento Video per la WIKI SCIENCE COMPETITION 2017 (entro il 15 Dicembre)
Buongiorno,
sto provando a caricare da un paio di giorni il video che abbiamo scelto per partecipare alla WIKI SCIENCE COMPETITION 2017 nella categoria "multimedia". Purtroppo il sistema continua a bloccare l'upload dei file sia in formato webm che ogg. Ho parlato con Bodhan Melnychuk e Nicolas Tamargo (non riesco a contattare il sig. Alessandro Marchetti) che mi hanno consigliato di parlare con gli admin per disattivare (a quanto pare) questi filtri che bloccano la procedura. Come da oggetto, l'invio del file per partecipare al contest deve essere effettuato entro il 15 Dicembre.
Resto in attesa di un suo cortese riscontro.

Research
Research findings from interviews and surveys of GLAM project participants are being published to the research page. Check back over the next few weeks as additional details (notes, quotes, charts, blog posts, and slide decks) will be added to or linked from that page.
The team has started working on designs for changes to the upload wizard (T182019).
We started preliminary work to prototype changes for file info pages.
Work on the MediaInfo extension is ongoing (T176012).
The team is continuing its work on baseline metrics on Commons, in order to be able to measure the effectiveness of structured data on Commons. (T174519)
Upcoming: in the first half of 2018, the first prototypes and design sketches for file pages, the UploadWizard, and for search will be published for discussion and feedback!
What's going on here?[7] No incoming links, no upload or change of that page for the last three years.
