M1 Carbine

Hi, as far as I can tell it is an M1 carabine, albeit modified. The en Wikipedia page for the weapon on the right en:Cristóbal Carbine says in the description that the weapon on the left is a modified M1, though I don't know who wrote that. Nonsense. Template:{{PD-OpenClipart}} says "You can copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission". Inkscape-small.svg is such a modification.

@Magog the Ogre: tags Vektor-PDF without graphic data, with {{BadPDF}}

This file was uploaded in PDF, despite containing only graphic data. If possible, please upload an (extracted) image version of this file instead. See Commons:File types for more information.

But there in many cases there are no images to extract.

For example:

• File:Addition Demonstration.pdf, contains real Text (can be copy-Pasted) and one black line
• File:Heartbeat Concept Map.pdf, contains only vector data (path&text) but no embedded picture (not even a tiny one)

In my opinion this is a misuse of the Template.

I told him/her, but (s)he thinks (s)he knows it better: User_talk:Magog_the_Ogre/Archive_27#{{BadPDF}} (I know (s)he has much more knowledge and has a better reputation then me, but I still think I'm right in this specific part.)

I see three possible solutions/explanations:

1. {{BadPDF}} should get another text (That is clear to everyone what is ment)
2. We should inform User:Magog the Ogre that (s)he tags the images wrong.
3. I'm stupid/ We don't understand each other

I'm not sure if Magog the Ogre fully understands the difference between Raster and Vektor. At least I think adding {{Vva}} to Vector-Version is misleading. (Special:Diff/336572586) I think in such cases {{Superseded}} should be preferred.

Maybe you can help me,

1. to explain this Admin, that there is a huge difference between
   1. Category:VectorPDF that can be converted to SVG, which can be converted to SVG
   2. Category:Fake PDF, which can be extracted to PNG or JPEG

   and Category:Files with inappropriate PDF format should not contain any files, since converting and extracting are two completely different tasks. (Where I use different software.)

2. or maybe you can tell me where I'm wrong

It's probably a language thing, but I really don't understand what "position" is in this context (and I suspect other English speakers might be similarly confused). Can you explain just what you are trying to denote there, because there might be a more easily understandable term for it. I mean, sure, it's the element's position in the periodic table - but I never heard a graphic described as a "position", and to me it looks rather odd. Also, the graphic denotes a fair bit more detail than just "position", if that was what you were aiming for. Off the top of my head I can't come up with a single word, but "periodic summary" might just about work, although I don't really like it... Thanks. -- Begoon 03:38, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

@Begoon: thank you; I would be glad if you tell me an idea how to call that, with a term more precise than "diagram" (or "image"), that will describe better what is shown there. Standard names, as "diagram", would be internationalized, non-standard ones should be in very neutral English that can be understood, more or less, untranslated. That name will also serve for a subcategory name - which should be English and short. A category "Invalid SVG created with Inkscape:Image of an element position in the periodic table" is definitely to long. I can use the rather neutral "diagram"? Other possibilities would be "periodic table position" (the main category name) or "table image" {from the file names). Yeah, as I said, I can't, off the top of my head, come up with a single word better than "diagram". It's quite possible something will spring into my mind in the next few days, because that's how my brain seems to work... . If three words is not a problem, and works with the categories, then "periodic table position" would certainly be better than just "position", at least until/if we come up with something better. I've never seen the multiple x-values thing for text positioning work in any of the SVG files I've edited and re-uploaded, so I'm not sure why you want to mess with it... @Begoon: thank you, I know that and use it always; what I tried to explain some lines above: there is so much told ("// Editing SVG source code using User:Rillke/SVGedit.js; upload handled by User:Rillke/MwJSBot.js") that my short summary text "simplified" almost vanishes.

subcats for CoA

Hello, have you noticed that the subcategories are not properly displayed for the coat of arms? There is an example at: File:Blason_de_la_ville_de_Alvignac_(Lot).svg (see the "SVG development" line). @大诺史: Such a category exists, SVG files to be drawn by hand, and with {{Igen|..|..|×}} files are assigned to it. As long you need not some very special treatment, this cat may help you. Why just these three files? There are hundred in Red numbers in blue circles. I would do it with embedded text, but then it may look different at different browsers which should not be. Compared to the colors of other flags, it seems a bit too dark! Lighter colors are Flag of Azerbaijan.svg or National flag of Azerbaijan.svg while the green of the mentioned picture is quite a complete other one, more like     .

Meanwhile Great Wall is an automobile produced by the Great Wall Motors Company Limited, which is a Chinese company.

wenn ich jetzt über die svgs schaue, finde ich oft deinen namen und mit vergnügen und respekt beobachte ich wie ihr euch um die einfachheit und somit um die bytes 'battled'

nutze z.b. das nun in inkscape integrierte scour (optimiertes svg)

aber wenn man sich eure svgs ansieht, sieht man sofort: die sind handgemacht

bei euch z.b. sind immer ganze zahlen, wenn ich mit scour auf nur zwei kommastellen runde, entsteht ein wackliges und schiefes bild

es gäbe die option pixelschnapp in inkscape - und ich glaube auch in euren bildern unterschiedliche art der pfadangabe wahrgenommen zu haben, also der weg, der diktiert wird

Es ist sehr zu unterscheiden, ob es sich um eine sehr einfache Grafik handelt, oder/und eine grobe Skizze (bei der die exakten Dimensionen unwichtig sind), oder ob es etwas genauer sein soll. Komplizierte Kurven sind aufwendig zu zeichnen, und mit Rundungen kann es leicht daneben gehen. Leider kenne ich die Werkzeuge wie Inkscape immer noch nicht, und was nicht offensichtlich manuell gemacht werden soll (nach meinem Verständnis) überlasse ich gerne anderen; jede Methode hat ihre Berechtigung!

Manchen offizielle Embleme sind genaue Konstruktionsregeln vorgegeben; andrerseits gibt es Skizzen, die gerne auch grob sein dürfen um ihrem Zweck zu genügen, da sind Kommastellen ohne tieferen Sinn. Die von dir erwähnte Beispielfahne hatte die Strichstärke mit stroke-width:3.96000004, also 4, angegeben; bei anderen Dimensionen hätte es auch 3 oder 5 sein konnen, und bei 240 × 160 statt 900 × 600 kann die Strichstärke 1 verwendet werden, also der Defaultwert der nicht definiert werden muss. Wenn dann genauer nachgesehen wird zeigt sich dass

• stroke-linejoin:round
• stroke-miterlimit:4
• stroke-dasharray:none
  • stroke-dashoffset:0
• stroke-opacity:1

spezifiziert wird – bei stroke:none, also alle Attribute (auch defaults) für eine abgeschaltete Option gesetzt werden! Inkscape macht es gerne so.

SVG Validation Plugin einfügen

Hallo Sarang, ich habe bezüglich des Skripts User:Perhelion/simpleSVGcheck.js ein Problem. Und zwar benutze ich dieses schon sehr lange, doch heute scheint es nicht mehr zu funktionieren! Könntest du mir zeigen, wie ich die neueste Version richtig hier einfügen kann? AKtuell ist es so, dass der Button, um die SVG-Datei zu überprüfen und die Vorlage "Image generation" einzufügen, irgendwie nicht mehr funktioniert bei mir! Ich bedanke mich schonmal für die Hilfe! Merkwurdig - die version vom 28.10. 06:32 war infunktionell (so wie du es beschreibst), daraufhin hat Perhelion am 29. 12:26 revertiert, und seither ging wieder alles. Ich wurd mal sagen wenn es davor funktioniert hat sollte es jetzt auch ohne Anderung bei dir tun. 1. meines wissens ist 'date' nicht das hochlade- oder erstelldatum, weil das ohnehin aus der history ersichtlich ist, meines wissens soll es nur verwendet werden wenn es echte infos zum inhalt wiedergibt, zb. seit wann es das logo gibt, und andernfalls soll das datum leer bleiben - grad noch mal nachgeschaut - die doku unterscheidet sich in der hinsicht deutlich in de und commons

1. die datei hast du doch sicher gestern gebastelt, also ist der 31. das erstellungsdatum - wenn auch identisch mit dem hochladedatum. da die "ursprungsdatei" oft genug verlinkt ist, halte ich (IMHO !) es fur redundant, hier auch deren datum anzugeben. da (im gegensatz zu anderen parametern) "date" immer angezeigt wird, auch wenn es leer ist, tendiere ich dazu diese info auch zu versorgen. manche machen den fehler bei "permission" immer was reinzuschreiben – hier soll das unterbleiben, wenn es eine int:license gibt. von einer adaquaten regel fur datum weiss ich nicht.
2. die "other versions" habe ich entfernt weil die datei bereits zweimal referenziert ist (source, und author) - ich finde das reicht, ein drittes mal bringt keine weitere information. dort kann auch gesehen werden, dass die datei zwar 2013 nach commons kam, die verschollene Giel-version aber vom marz 2005 stammt. somit halte ich es fur uberflussig, im svg die jahre 2005 und 2013 zu erwahnen.

ganz generell: es kann viel angegeben werden, auch dinge die nur einen link entfernt sind. ich hingegen finde, es muss nicht jede beschreibung vollgestopft werden mit infos die 1) kaum so brennend interessieren und 2) leicht zuganglich sind, wenn jemand forschen will. aber da gibt es unterschiedliche ansichten, und das kann jeder halten wie er meint. ich werde das normalerweise auch nicht andern.
das P-script kann vieles vereinfachen, oft werden descriptions mehrere hundert byte kurzer und besser lesbar. wenn ich bei der gelegenheit etwas aus einer komplizierten beschreibung in das "AutVec" andere, mit datei-link, werfe ich normalerweise die "other versions" weg; vor allem, wenn die datei auch noch im "own based" ohnehin bereits redundant referenziert ist. ich sehe auch einen gewissen semantischen unterschied, ob etwas die grundlage darstellt, oder einfach eine andere version ist. gruss -- sarang♥사랑 08:56, 1 November 2019 (UTC)

gerne - nochmals, ganz langsam: Immanuel Giel hat (offensichtlich am 11 Marz 2005) in die German Wikipedia dieses rasterbild hochgeladen. weil es oft (sogar meist) sinvoller ist, dateien statt in einer der lokalen wikipedias zentral in den commons zu halten, hat Sarang sie am 5. August 2013 in eben diese commons transferiert; da gibt es verschiedene moglichkeiten, am schnellsten geht runter- und wieder hochladen, und die beschreibung angepasst neu erstellen. soweit so gut? irgendwann nach diesem august 2013 hat irgendjemand mit adminrechten in der de:WP diese nun uberflussige datei aus der de.Wp geloscht. das ist durchaus das ubliche vorgehen: transferieren und dann loschen. es gibt infos und anleitungen in der de.Wp und zB in Commons:Moving files to Commons. wenn in der de:Wp eine datei abgebildet werden soll, wird sie erst in der de:Wp gesucht, und wenn dort nicht vorhanden wird sie aus dem commons geladen. viele logos durfen aus rechtlichen grunden nicht in die commons, dann stehen sie nur in lokelan Wp's wie der de:Wp. manchmal ist die commonsfahigkeit unsicher, wie bei Kaiserkrone Rot.gif.

die 'others' bezogen sich nicht auf eine geloschte datei, sondern auf eine existente rastergrafik. man kann naturlich noch ein drittes mal referenzieren, wenn man will - die entfernung war ein vorschlag von mir, um auf die redundanz hinzuweisen. so ein redundanter hinweis kann irritieren, weil man da etwas zusatzliches vermutet, und dann entdeckt dass es nur eine wiederholung von weiter oben ist. sagen wir mal so: wenn 'own based' kein bild anzeigt, kann das unten geschehen; aber besser ist es oben, sonst steht der text dort alleine. und in 'AutVec' ist nur ein sehr diskreter link (wenn angegeben) dessen redundanz nicht storen kann. es kann naturlich auch gut sein, dass in 'own based' eine datei steht, und es noch andere version(s) gibt - dann hat 'other versions' seine berechtigung.
es bestehen viele freiheiten wie etwas gestaltet wird, und auch unterschiedliche ansichten. wenn man bisschen uberlegt entsteht eine vorstellung was nutzlich und sinnvoll ist, oder was eher storender ballast sein kann. und wenn du ideen hast wie etwas besser gestaltet werden soll lassen sich vorlagen entwickeln oder anpassen an neue aufgaben. -- sarang♥사랑 18:03, 1 November 2019 (UTC)

Sehr gut - die strukturen sind optimal! nur mehr winzige kleinigkeiten konnen optimiert werden:

1. es soll nur oben die version="1.0" angegeben werden, aber nicht unten version="1.1" (-14 byte)
2. nach dem schluss-</svg> braucht es keinen vorschub mehr (-2 byte)
3. zeilende: unix (LF) ist ausreichend, windows (CR+LF) ist nicht notwendig (-10 byte)
4. mit path statt rect sind solche strukturen sparsamer zu zeichnen (-6-12-12) wenn auch nicht so deutlich
   aber da braucht es kein explizites y=
5. in diesem fall kann das fill="#fff" generalisiert werden (-12 byte)
   jetzt habe ich 486 statt 554 byte
6. die einruckungen will ich dir nicht nehmen - das waren nochmals 10 byte

ach ja, du solltest die indentions mit dem ":" nicht beim eroffen einer disku verwenden. ist zwar praktischer als mit <br> auf neue zeilen zu gehen, aber sicher wird dir bald jemand eine ruge verpassen weil es nicht dem usus entspricht

die beschreibung: du hast 2mal "easy border" (es ware auch mit ° im "igen" gegangen) gezeigt, ist beide male unnotig weil kein weisser rand vorhanden ist.

ich bin zwar kein perfektionist, will sachen aber gut machen - ich schau mir svgs an (darunter auch die, mit denen ich gestartet bin) die mbs statt kbs haben und wir feilschen um bytes in vorschub und zeilenumbruch

nicht falsch verstehen, danke, aber wenn ich das level so auch bei anderen svgs erreiche, bin ich zufrieden

ähnlich ist es mit der beschreibungsseite - welchen tieferen grund hat es, die farbinfos ins igen zu schieben? in meinen augen unleserlich ohne für mich erkennbaren vorteil

wieso wird bei attrib ein topic angegeben? bewirkt das was? angezeigt wird es doch wohl nicht - finde es unnötig den author dort anzugeben, wen das wirklich interessiert sieht es wenn er dem link folgt

wer soll mich für was rügen? wenn ich mir teilweise ansehe wie hier kommunziert wird und miteinander umgesprungen wird, denke ich, sind meine einrückungen das kleinste problem oder?

wer stört sich daran - stört es dich? manche stören sich an meiner kleinschreibung - ist auch nicht usus - kann man in artikeln nicht bringen - stört es auf diskussionsseiten?

die einrückung ist ein effektiver workaround für zeilenumbruch - den ich zwingend brauche um lesbarkeit zu schaffen

es bleibt deine sache wie weit du gehen willst; ich zeige dir alternativen aber du entscheidest was dir gut erscheint.
die farbinfos mit ColorString konnen auch ausserhalb/vor dem igen stehen, in den 'other fields', geht genau so gut. auch geschmacksache.
das topic wird im attrib sehr wohl angezeigt! alle vom igen aufgerufenenen vorlagen ubernehmen topics, das war viel arbeit aber es tut jetzt. doch attrib steht bei 'source', und ich habe noch keinen zugang zu ubergreifender parameterweitergabe. den auhor - dann kann man setzen, oder nicht.
fur mich sind deine ":"-einruckungen kein problem, wundere dich aber nicht wenn irgendjemand mal meckert. eigentlich sollte die wiki-software imstande sein, damit umzugehen.
eben habe ich noch ein abschreckendes beispiel entdeckt zu transformationen - diese datei transformiert jeden svg-befehl! es gibt sogar ein transform="translate(0, 0)"!

farbangaben sind generell schwer lesbar, ganz besonders bei TBC. ich denke, so ist es ein wenig leserlicher

Proposal typing aid

I closed Commons:Village pump/Proposals#Proposal typing aid and CAT: is already working.

Pinging @4nn1l2, Jeff G.. While technically possible, the nightmare scenario I see is that we enable F: as a shorthand for file, it gets used on millions of pages and then WMF launches a project that uses F: as the interwiki shorthand and we're screwed. It may not happen, but if it does it won't be pretty. Perhaps if a bot replaces F: links whenever they occur so there will be at least no internal links like that.. (but external links would still be screwed)

Two letter shorthands are a bad idea for anything that is a valid ISO 639-1 code because de:Wikpedia goes to German Wikipedia. Either way, please create new proposal(s) in which it's clear what shorthands can be voted on. - Alexis Jazz ^{ping plz} 21:33, 24 October 2019 (UTC)

May be that two different things are mixed up? I asked for a shorter typing in the "search" field, where I have to type many many times a day namespaces like "Template:" or "Category:"; "Module:" is a little bit shorter, and the other namespaces like "user" or "file" are not too bad.

When such an input possibility will be changed, nothing happens, it just does not work any more – no bot can replace a typed input!

Another thing are templates; link templates exist for the most frequent namespaces, internal and interwiki. When a shorthand template like C, F, G, M, T, U, W needs to be revoked, a bot can change all occurencies of e.g. {{ M | … }} to the long form {{ Module | … }}, or to [[:Module:…]]. Some of these templates are very heavily used, up to 2.6 Mio times.

Hi Alexis, to me my proposal had been clear, I did not expect that misunderstanding. I read now the phab:T185126 and think it will be a good idea. Personally I would rather prefer e.g. T: instead of T/, but if UT/ is seen preferential I can enjoy to use it instead of UT:. I did not know it before but now I detected that there exists such a namespace abbreviation, cat: works when typed in the search field! But for template: i could not find a similar shortcut. As suggested in phab, {{ would also be an acceptable solution; but depending on the keyboard, some alternatives need the shift key for input, or even the alt key, which may make it less desirable.

I did not understand which interwiki conflicts may result with t:; yes, c: is used for commons, so the use of the colon may cause conflicts, even though it seems more logical. @Alexis Jazz: , sure you can create such a proposal better, so I'm relieved when you will do it. -- sarang♥사랑 16:47, 26 October 2019 (UTC)

cat: did not exist until 2 days ago. For the search field, t: and h: are actually possible, but by using / instead of : the difference between namespace redirects and search shorthands is more clear. I just created a proposal for TEM: and MOD: full namespace redirects. There already is a procedure for creating these, unlike the search box stuff. Thank you @Alexis Jazz: "file:" is not too long, therefore an abbreviation is not so urgent. But tem: (saving 5 keystrokes) will be fine. Whether mod: (saving 3) is worth it may just depend on a universal aspekt that it fits to the other "xxx:" abbreviations. Belonging to this, I have no idea whether "user" and "user talk" should also fit, besides of "file" or "help". To remember: my first proposal just thought about "category" and "template", each 8 keystrokes in original.

I do not quite understand your above mentioning "...if F: works in the search box, but not as a link" ? A link template {{F}} exists since many years, capable also for interwiki. hi, ich möchte direkt auf commons weitergeleitet werden wenn die bilder tatsächlich dort liegen

verstehe ich nicht. zwar hab ich gelernt dass croppings von panoramafreien aufnahmen die freiheit verlieren konnen, weil ein detail was andres ist als der gesamteindruck... aber hier liegt das nicht vor. ich blicke nicht durch bei schwierigen lizenzen! vieleicht kann dir jemand bei Commons:Village pump/Copyright weiterhelfen? guten erfolg -- sarang♥사랑 14:29, 8 November 2019 (UTC)

ja, beide enthalten viel code. die vorlage muss nur parameter interpretieren und unter berucksichtigung von wechselwirkungen umsetzen; das script hat es viel schwerer, weil es mit den abstrusesten texteingaben zurechtkommen soll, und alle fehlerhaften eingaben und falsch versorgten parameter richtigstellen will. da muss naturlich sehr viel analysiert und abgeglichen werden. die ublichen standardfehler (oder oft eher: ungeschicklichkeiten) mit missverstandenen parametrierungen, oder langst uberholte aufwendige schreibweisen sind bekannt, doch es gibt immer wieder uberraschungen. wenn du das script anwendest musst du immer dessen vorschlage prufen und ggf. erganzen, du bleibst trotz dieser unterstutzung (die dir viel lastige codierung abnimmt) der editor und fur deine anderungen verantwortlich.

Important message for file movers

A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.

Possible acceptable uses of this ability:

• To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
• To perform file name swaps.
• When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)

Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.

The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. Du meinst die Strukturierten Daten? an dem wird dauernd rumgeschraubt, und das display geandert. lange zeit war es viel zu sehr im vordergrund, und die dateibeschreibung im hintergrund; nun kann ich nur einen winzigen teil des links sehen, die unteren 5% des textes, das meiste wird uberdeckt. . sieht mir nach fehler aus. weiss nicht ob das nur bei meiner speziellen konstellation so ist.

Hey Sarang, in der Tat schrecke ich vor dieser Löschung zurück. Aus zwei Gründen 1. ist ein Speedydelete nicht unbedingt gegeben, 2. Müssen alte Versionen von Templates und Übersetzungen aus copyright-rechtlichen Gründen erhalten bleiben. Daher würde ich erstmal einen regulären LA stellen (und dann die Liste ggf posten).

@Perhelion: Wenn das so kompliziert und reglementiert ist, dann ziehe ich meinen LA zuruck. Es gibt ohnehin keinerlei aktiven Link mehr auf eine dieser Vorlagen, und der Inhalt/die Codierung ist (zumindest tw.) uberschrieben, weil ich sie in einer Kategorie gesammelt habe; aber die Versionsgeschichten enthalten noch alles. Eigentlich liegt es mir mehr, nach dem Abschluss dieser Sache alles aufzuraumen; aber wenn irgendwelche Regeln verlangen dass diese Leichen weiterhin herumliegen, soll es mir recht sein. Frage zu mass delete

Hallo, erstmal vielen Dank für das prompte Ändern der 100 "Location". Schon seit einiger Zeit habe ich die Absicht eine Frage loszuwerden, an jemanden, der sowohl Admin ist als auch einen bot dirigiert: Auf Grund einer von mir im vorigen Jahr vorgenommenen Designänderung sind über tausend Untervorlagen obsolet geworden; seither liegen diese Leichen hier in den Commons rum.
IMHO wäre es sinnvoll, sich ihrer zu entledigen. In meiner Naivität glaube ich, dass es hier keiner Löschdiskussion bedarf - die Dinger wurden durch etwas besseres ersetzt und werden nie wieder mehr benötigt, auch wenn sie vor 2017 sehr frequentiert waren. Irgenwo ist mir aber gesagt worden, das aus rechtlichen Gründen, oder sonst einer Rücksicht die ich nicht verstehen konnte, solche ehemaligen Untervorlagen auf ewig erhalten bleiben müssen. Dazu merke ich an, dass es sich nicht vielleicht um Lizenzvorlagen handelt, sondern lediglich um Hilfsvorlagen für Übersetzungstools aus dem Bereich "Created with" (zB Inkscape) und "Taken with" (zb. Nikon FM2).
Nun meine Frage an dich als Admin: dürfen die Dinger endlich weg?
Falls ja, sie sind in einer Kategorie gesammelt. Da ich über keinen bot verfüge, kann ich nur einzeln darauf zugreifen, was ich bei weit über tausend tunlichst nicht mal in Erwägung ziehe...

@Sarang: AWB macht kurzen Prozess mit 100 Dateien, kein Problem.

Grundsätzlich kann alles weg, was nicht mehr gebraucht wird und nirgendwo genutzt wird. Die eine oder andere Einbindung auf einer alten Disku zählt da (m.M.n) nicht. Hast Du ein Beispiel parat? --Hedwig in Washington ^(mail?) 20:00, 2 December 2019 (UTC)

Soweit ich es sehe, ist für AWB eine spezielle Berechtigung erforderlich, und es sieht auch eher kompliziert aus.

Doch finde ich gut, dass meine Aufräumaktion beendet werden wird und die alten Dinger entsorgt werden können. Ich weiss nicht, wie tief du einsteigen willst; eine eher kurze Erläuterung um was es ging, oder eine viel umfangreichere (mit noch weiteren links)? Ich vermute eher dass es genügt, wenn ich dir die Kategorie nenne, in der ich diesen Altballast gesammelt habe. Ich werde noch heute die letzten ~100 überflüssig gewordenen Vorlagen reinstellen, dann kann alles auf einen Schlag weg. Nun bin ich damit fertig, ich glaube kaum dass ich noch etwas übersehen habe. Die Situation ist folgende: Vor langem hatte ich die Category:Experimental templates angelegt und darin nicht mehr benötigte Vorlagen gesammelt, um sie für Vorlagentests zu verwenden. Einige möchte ich nach wie vor behalten, aber die grosse Masse unter [[Category:Experimental templates|B]], [[Category:Experimental templates|I]] und [[Category:Experimental templates|T]] kann und soll weg. Diese Selektion von B+I+T kann AWB doch locker bewältigen? Ist leider unnötig kompliziert, aber um es zu begradigen müsste ich jede Vorlage einzeln editieren. @Sarang: B-I-T  Done AWB macht es ein wenig einfacher, leider keine Massenlöschungen möglich, zwei Klicks pro Vorlage. Pywikipediabot kann auch keine Vorlagen löschen. Egal, ging fix. Zwei Klicks je Vorlage? Bei 1300 Stück – du liebe Güte! Ich dachte ein bot macht das "mit links", wenn es ihm entsprechend aufbereitet serviert wird. Mittlerweile kann ich zwar fast alle Vorlagen editieren, aber Löschen bleibt nun mal den Admins vorbehalten. So gerne und bereitwillig ich das finale Aufräumen erledigt hätte (alleine zur Kategorisierung waren mehr als zwei Klicks notwendig...), da musste ein anderer ran. Zumindest konntest du mir vertrauen und musstest nicht jede einzelne Vorlage prüfen. Danke für deine grosse Mühe, nun ist wieder etwas erledigt! Mit vereinter Anstrengung, wie es sich in einem Gemeinschaftsprojekt ziemt. Du kannst mit AWB allerdings nichts machen, ohne den Eintrag in der whitelist Kleine Sicherheit gegen Massenvandalismus, ist in AWB so eingebaut. Die Hilfe ist allerdings zum Heulen. Antworten gibt es auch nur für Eingeweihte Das Tool selbst ist nicht übel. Etwas anderes, nicht-dringendes: die beiden Vorlagen Created with Inkscape/sandbox und Created with Adobe Illustrator/sandbox enthalten verbesserten Code, mit dem einiges einfacher ermittelt wird und eine bessere Textausgabe bei den SVG files without W3C-specification erfolgt. Wie gesagt, das ist nicht dringend, es handelt sich im Wesentlichen "nur" um die Textausgabe. Also eine Art halber edit request - ich stelle dir anheim ob du die Vorlagen ubertragen willst oder nicht.

Bezuglich der redirects habe ich in meta:Talk:Don't_delete_redirects#Another_exception einen Beitrag gepostet; was meinst du, sollte er in den Artikel? Gruss -- sarang♥사랑 12:44, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

It is the old known wikitable problem; it would work with an additional {{-}}, e.g. T={{clr}}{{Translate|switch=yes}}, but normally the script inserts automatically the %s shortcode. Postscript template

Others have uploaded images with a PostScript-relevant program included in the workflow, but I'm pretty much the only one who codes raw PostScript from scratch. I don't necessarily have any theoretical objection to the existence of such a template, but I would prefer that the hundreds of image description pages of PostScript-generated images that I've uploaded not be edited to include the template -- especially if the PostScript code display mode that we discussed earlier hasn't been substantially enhanced from what it was then... @AnonMoos: Thank you; nobody intends to change file descriptions just because of that – but when SVG files don't have a validity tag, it will be added, and it could be done using such a template.
