Hello there. It seems that there is a lil problem with this image you uploaded. This image was not created by you, as you wrote in the description. Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thank you for your contributions to Commons. I noticed you blanked Category:New Taipei on Commons. I asume you meant for the page to be deleted, but blanking the page is not the right way to do this. I'd like to strongly recommend to use {{speedy| type reason here }} and add it on top of the page you would like to have deleted; This way it will be placed on a special list that administrators check regularly for deletion. TRTC_Songshan_Line_route_map

I uploaded a vector version of the Songshan Line map

I hope my tracing of the Chinese characters did not deform them too much (I do not know Chinese and cannot write the characters even if i had a font installed :-[).

Vector images are very much better than pixel-based images because they can be scaled up or down and still retain absolutely sharp edges (no "antialiasing"). If you submit more images like this, generate them as .svg 8Inkscape is a great program that works across many platforms).

Comment There is, like Hurricanehink said, nothing special about this image. The subject of the image is a bit unclear, are we focused on the China Sea or the weak depression covering it. I may upload the one with border lines as another file when the gallery provides. Again: I very disagree with self-made tropical cyclone pictures destroyed by border lines. Thank you for your contributions to Commons. I noticed you blanked Category:Tropical Storm Mangkhut (2018) on Commons. If you meant for the page to be deleted, blanking the page is not the right way to do this. A simple real-world comparison to illustrate: You removed the entire text of a page from a thick folder, but the then empty, useless page itself remained in the folder.

Please use {{speedy| type reason here }} and add it on top of the page you would like to have deleted; This way it will be placed on a special list that administrators check regularly for deletion. Without this it might take a long time before it's noticed.

Hello Meow, I noticed that you have uploaded several good-resolution images from the RAMBB slider site. I am trying to do the same, but the files I end up with are too small. Important message for file movers

Southwest Indian ocean tropical systems name

Hi:

I had to rename a few of the sub-category you created. For instance, Diane never became a tropical cyclone (wind >64 knots), its maximum was "Severe Tropical Storm" and I had to move the category from Category:Cyclone Diane to Category:Severe Tropical Storm Diane. Please remember that the name of the category is "Depression", "Storm" or "Cyclone/Typhoon/Hurricane" according to its maximum strength.

No, "Cyclone" is used from for all intensities of tropical systems in the Indian Ocean above 64 knots like "Hurricane" is, without the category, for the Atlantic bassin. It is the "Storm" level that can use either Tropical Storm or the sub-levels. Pierre cb (talk) 14:02, 13 February 2020 (UTC)

Best Track

hi Meow, I have noticed a lot of your best track maps for different tropical cyclones. Just a little question, we often use ssd.noaa.gov best track data to create those maps, but it seems like your map have some "extra" points from the best track data (e.g. doksuri in 2023). Would I be correct in assuming that it's the gale near 171ºW and 44ºN? If so, it might cause some kind of impact to the Aleutian Islands. Hurricane Noah (talk) 14:58, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
