Please explain why you so like this file that you want it's undeletion in 2036? Poor quality, blurred and dark. Юрий Д.К 06:00, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I still see so architectural details if I darken the image. But I won't oppose if you wish to delete it due to poor quality. --A1Cafel (talk) 09:53, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

File:VISITA A LA ESTACIÓN Y PARQUE NACIONAL GALÁPAGOS. GALÁPAGOS, 15 DE DICIEMBRE DE 2024 (54206744275).jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

FOP/copyright checks

[edit]

Hi, as you're an expert with FOP and copyright of sculptures, would you be able to have a look at File:At Sardinia 2024 061.jpg and Category:John Witherspoon memorial (Princeton University), please, as I'm not too sure about them? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 21:12, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Checked. I can't say I'm an expert of FOP issues, just nominated those obvious cases to avoid "bad" deletion requests as much as possible. --A1Cafel (talk) 05:33, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for checking them, you found out more about them than I did. :) Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 15:48, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

As freedom of panorama seems to be your interest (per Napranum), then you may wish to go through all the grain silo mural photographs throughout Australia. For instance:

I do not deal in this area of law, and will let you police all this.–Q8682 (talk) 04:59, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I stick well away (photographing) from the water tower(s)/silos. Some of them it is hard to focus on the structure while keeping the artwork to a minimum (de minimis). They are certainly a FOP issue but also seems odd that rates/tax payer funds is being spent so people can photograph them without having a cause to make them less copyright restrictive.
I know that there was one grain company (GrainCorp) that put commercial restrictions use of silo artwork on its sites. Bidgee (talk) 06:54, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Another one I'm not sure about (but suspect not OK...): Category:OR Tambo International Airport - Statue of Oliver Reginald Tambo. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 19:18, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Also Category:Statue of Nelson Mandela (Sandton), and possibly others I just added to Category:Nelson Mandela Square... Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 21:12, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
And maybe Category:A. H. Tammsaare Memorial. :-/ thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 22:00, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You are adding category, "Files from Flickr with bad file names" to uploaded files whose "good" names you can create.

[edit]

Why don't give files with "bad names"- good names, just before you upload these files? As you already know from 10+ years experience, the Flickr2Commons (F2C) tool allows users to add use "prefix selected names" which says, adds a "string to put in front of file name." Adding your files with bad file names, just pushes that name change work to another volunteer. You only get 10 uploads a day. Why not make all those 10 files each day have "good" names?

Ooligan (talk) 00:49, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Because it can avoid potential duplicate uploads that might occur in the future if the files were uploaded en masse using Flickr2Commons. If the identifiers provided by Flickr2Commons are not being used, the likelihood of duplicates increases. To prevent that without uploading new files, using original names helps minimize the occurrence of duplicate, especially when uploading from an album. --A1Cafel (talk) 02:46, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
So keep the parenthetical number, and change the rest of the name. - Jmabel ! talk 18:18, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please, stop interrupting my edits again.

[edit]

Your are starting to closely follow and mimic my sequential edits, again. In fact you just interrupted me adding an appropriate PD license to my own recently uploaded files. You have done this repeatedly in the past. I respectfully request that stop this behavior. -- Ooligan (talk) 09:51, 18 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I respect your request, but I just trace those files in the cat Flickr public domain images needing specific copyright tags. You uploaded those files a few days ago, it is not "closely follow" IMO. Also, Tim Landy and Adeletron 3030 also fix the license, why don't you ask these two users to stop interrupt your uploads? --A1Cafel (talk) 09:54, 18 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
