Goodies, tips, and tricks

To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.

Regarding that file, it's a useful view of that vehicle. The uniforms of the people inside it are not military uniforms. One of them has the same cloth badge shown here File:Joint base law enforcement undergo tough training to maintain readiness 151027-A-DZ999-019.jpg That means that one of those people must be a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Department_of_Defense_police officer and the other is a DOD Security Officer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Department_of_Defense_police#DoD_Security

The van in that file also does not include the word MILITARY before the word POLICE. Because of that and the uniforms, I think that the van is not a military police vehicle, but a Department of Defense police vehicle. @Dreddmoto: Thank you. Well, there's a distinction between military police units (of all services, e.g. Military Police Corps of the Army, or USAF SF), which only has jurisdiction over military personnel, and subsidiary civilian police services (e.g. Joint Base Myer Henderson Hall Police), which has jurisdiction over civilians on base premises. These files are originally categorized into "Military police automobiles", as they are indeed operated by the military (although indirectly). I think it's a good idea to create a new category for DoD civilian police automobiles, although we might need a concise, and if possible official name for that new category, regards.廣九直通車 (talk) 14:46, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

廣九直通車 thanks for your comment. That's a good idea. I suggest calling the new category Department of Defense police vehicles. That's because it includes more than just automobiles (cars), as the van in that photograph shows. @Arrow Air charter: I reviewed the permission given by the photographer, it should be fine. I also proposed a better file name, and created the corresponding category for N321BA.
