Man performing autofellatio

[edit]

Hello and thank you for taking the time to consider the deletion request for the "man performing autofellatio" picture. I would like you to reconsider your decision to delete. The picture is used on many sites but I had released it to the public domain a long while back. None of those sites or wikipedia are in copyright violation as it is and has been in the public domain. I believe it is very informative on the different ways that this practice is done. could you please rethink your decision? Mstinner (talk)

Hi Mstinner. The image is a clear copyright violation (See sources at DR). Wikimedia's rules and Laws does not permit it use without permission of the author.
If you are disagree, you can do a formal request for restoration in Commons:Undeletion requests. Regards. Alan (talk) 19:30, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Alan I understand your reasoning and appreciate you making sure that these copyrights are looked after. I am the author of this content and had signed it over to public domain years ago which is why it is widely used now. Does this clear up confusion? Mstinner (talk)
Hi Mstinner, if you are the author, send an email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org following COM:OTRS instructions indicating the desired license. Alan (talk) 20:20, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
To clear up any confusion in the future, I had thought that I had given the correct licensing approval for public domain when I first uploaded. Did I do this incorrectly? Is there a reason it can't be undeleted easily with the addition of this new information? Mstinner (talk)

Pregunta

[edit]

Hola.

--Alan (talk) 10:41, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
File:Manuel Lanzini.jpg Reparada. --Alan (talk) 10:45, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Y File:Jonathan Maidana.jpg también. En principio ya está todo correcto. Revísalo y me dices. --Alan (talk) 10:48, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Todo solucionado. Gracias. AS-W (talk) 17:06, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
De nada :-) --Alan (talk) 22:55, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Re: rumboalsud.com.ar y Todo Trenes

[edit]

Hola Alan.

--Hispalois (talk) 02:23, 11 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

SUL at et.wiki

[edit]

I wrote to et.wiki user Alan. For now, I'll wait his answer. You can contact me at my et.wiki talk page. --Jaan513 (talk) 08:59, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! --Alan (talk) 09:57, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry. User is still alive and would not like to give up his username. But user has registered with an e-mail, one option would be that you write him yourself (he should understand English). Best wishes, Jaan513 (talk) 12:50, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Made mistake with rename of Soviet flag image

[edit]

I made a mistake in requesting the rename of the Soviet flag image here. The document the schematic is from, includes materials dated from 1938 to 1956, not that the schematic was created in 1938. The original title stating 1955 as the start date is correct. Sorry for the mishap.--184.145.64.67 22:45, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done. Renamed to File:Flag of the Soviet Union (1955-1980).svg. Alan (talk) 00:06, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hola Alan, espero te encuentres bien.

Quiero saber si esta imagen se puede subir a Commons, saludos--Inefable001 (talk) 03:59, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hola.
Saludos--Inefable001 (talk) 14:03, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Content that looks off.

[edit]

You seem to have some experence with the contributions by Special:Contributions/Cornhorn File:DY-STM-Road-Marking-Machine-Working-in-Bahrain.jpg. All of his images are watermarked and seem non-free to me, but you checked out the images and seem to think they are ok. Would it be ok for me to go through and crop out the watermarks? CombatWombat42 (talk) 20:19, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi CombatWombat42! I see your deletion request. Original source for some images is http://www.dyroad.com/ or road-marking-machine.com. This webpage have CC license, see footer. We need to review and modify the rest if is required. Cheers, --Alan (talk) 20:28, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
So we should be good to not delete(great) and modify(crop watermark) instead? CombatWombat42 (talk) 20:34, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Of course! . Can you mark with {{Watermarked}} all images?. --Alan (talk) 20:39, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Will, do, and when I get more free time I will crop out all the watermarks and re-upload, thanks for the advice. CombatWombat42 (talk) 21:25, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Picture of the Year 2013 R2 Announcement

[edit]

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2013 is open!

[edit]
2012 Picture of the Year: A pair of European Bee-eaters in Ariège, France.

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 7 March 2014. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Commons:Picture_of_the_Year/2013/Introduction/en Click here to learn more and vote »]

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee

Dear Alan,

Please feel free to mark some of the Korean images in license review if you have some free time. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 06:06, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
