- well, it was years ago if I remember correctly. But we'll see the other comments. By the time we decide, maybe it is even more time.--Alexmar983 (talk) 09:50, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
- Support Commons:Photo challenge/2019 - June - Geology has almost no fossils, Commons:Photo challenge/2015 - September - Fossils was sufficiently long ago, and this is easily repeatable. @El Grafo: do you still oppose this? – b_jonas 19:00, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
- No, but I wonder why the addition "and sediments" was chosen. Pictures of sediments without fossils would probably not stand a chance against the fossils in the vote. --El Grafo (talk) 11:12, 1 November 2019 (UTC)

Baby related equipment
See Category:Baby-related equipment. Proposed by Alexmar983 We can do better. Few pictures have a high definition, for example. Compared to other categories, images from museums or archives are more than usual, basically because we lack some pictures of current equipment, at least pictures centered on the equipment, not on the baby using it. I guess that people prefer to take pictures of their children than of the baby-related objects they use, that's where the "gap" comes from. So there's a lot to improve: strollers, baby carriages, cribs, walkers, bassinets, high chairs, playpens, feeding bottles, baby slings...

- Support not especially thrilling at first sight, but let's see what people make of it. A solid, straight-forward theme that would make sense to run along something more fancy that might not be for everyone. --El Grafo (talk) 11:00, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

- Oppose quite difficult if you don't know any babies, and there'd be too many pictures of moulded plastic --Shillings1005 (talk) 13:30, 12 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support I cite from above "... basically because we lack some pictures of current equipment, at least pictures centered on the equipment, not on the baby using it." and give full merit to the suggestion. This challenge could turn out to be very fruitful for wikimedia's unimpeded search for images of new and ingenious artefacts. - Support It's an important part of everyday life and should be adequately documented both for current times and future historians. What did taking care of a baby look like in the 2020s? Also, it would be incredibly helpful for Wiktionary. Languageseeker (talk) 18:22, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

- Comment Unless one lives in a family with a baby, this challenge will mostly require participants to venture out indoors, which is probably not something we should encourage people to do until the pandemic subsides. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 05:39, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

It was: flags and coat of arms Proposed by Alexmar983
We have many drawings or schemes, but seeing the symbol in its environment makes it more "real".--Alexmar983 (talk) 18:19, 30 July 2016 (UTC) Comment What is it: Flags or COA's? This is 2 challenges in 1. To make it a real challenge, maybe it should be "COA on flags". --P 1 9 9 ✉ 14:11, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
- COAs existed before flags, but it is more a continuum. In many countries of the "third world" COAs are less common, and I wanted a theme sufficiently global. To me they don't sound too different but you can propose to split it.--Alexmar983 (talk) 18:37, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
- Support -- Jarekt (talk) 15:39, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
Now that we currently have two-months challenge, I reshape this proposal as just "coat of arms". Flags are common, so it is not my main target of the two. This way is closer to a classical "architectural" challenge. Coat of arms are often like obelisks or balconies or similar, a detail.--Alexmar983 (talk) 11:27, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

- Oppose coats of arms are very Eurocentric. While many countries outside of Europe have a national emblem or coat of arms, such as w:Armorial of Asia, they are seen comparatively rarely. Furthermore, many emblems or coats of arms have usage restrictions or copyrights, that preclude the uploading of reproductions of the official one. For example, there is a note on File:Coat of arms of Singapore.svg to this effect. dllu (t,c) 08:13, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- A lot of challenges exclude something, that's why there are two of them every month. It's like saying that I cannot propose "sea" because some countries are landlocked...--Alexmar983 (talk) 00:04, 20 August 2019 (UTC)
