Deletion of notable people's cats

Hi. Would you mind bringing back the cats Category:Belgin Doruk and Category:Ayhan Işık which were deleted by you? I would like to ask you not to delete empty artist cats; with the passage of time it is more and more probable to find images for those cats. Let away their own images, street signs with their names etc may already be somewhere within this ocean called Commons and we can find them at any time; so no need to delete those cats with a hurry, indeed... Categories here are generally in latin script. The english translations would be Category:Tamil Icons, Category:Icons, Category:Valluvar Vallalar Circle. And please: When you create new categories please find and use suitable parent cats for them. --JuTa 13:57, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

Hi Taurus Littrow, belonging the images does not neccessarily mean owning the copyright of the photos. And "reproduce" is not enough, they must be modifyable as well. As the was {{OTRS received}} on the file description pages please ask at Commons:OTRS noticeboard for your case. Hallo JuTa. Am 28. Januar hast du diverse Fotos gelöscht, bei denen das OTRS-Team einen Wartungsbaustein eingefügt hatte, wonach sie am abklären sind, ob die eingegangen Informationen für eine Freigabe genügen. Wird das OTRS-Team diese Fotos wieder hervorholen, wenn sie zum Schluss kommen, dass eine Freigabe in Ordnung ist? Oder wie geht das weiter? Hallo Hadi, da waren die OTRS-Freigaben länger als einen Monat ohne Bestätigung. Solche Fälle können und sollen gelöscht werden. Falls die Freigabe noch bestätigt wird, sorgt OTRS für die Wiederherstellung.´Du kannst auch auf Commons:OTRS noticeboard nachfragen was den das Problem war/ist. Hi JuTa,

I added a photo yesterday, but wasn't sure about all the copyright options. It's about a football club. The original photographer is unknown, but since the photograph was taken around 1918, I don't think we're able to ask him (or her) anymore.

As far as I know, the original photo is know in posession of the club itself. I'm a member of the management of this club, that is why I thought it would be ok to place it here.

What is the right procedure to use this photograph on Wikipedia?

Hi Jelto88, if the image is free enough for Commons depend of when the author Gilbert Timmermans died. If before 1951 {{PD-old-70}} can be applied. If not, the inage is still copyrighted sand should be deleted from Commons. regards --JuTa 16:57, 31 January 2021 (UTC)

Fortunately, he is still alive :-), but he is not the photographer. He is also a memeber of the clubmanagement and wrote a book about the club. He is not the owner of the photograph, he merely featured it in his book. The original owner as of this date is the club. If necessary, I can vouch for the club to give this permission (I am vice-president of the club). Sincerly, Jelto88

I'm afraid we don't know who took the picture. This picture was found in a very old archive with no trace whatsoever about the photographer. So it's better to use the license-template {{Anonymous-EU}} then? Jelto88

Hallo JuTa, ich möchte Dich um Hilfe bitten. Nachdem ich einige Bilder hochgeladen hatte, tauchte bei den Bildern plötzlich die Category:Maint:locdec auf. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, wie es dazu kam. Ich habe diese Category nicht erstellt. Trotzdem befinden sich 4 Bilder darin. Ich kann den Eintrag auch nicht entfernen. You need to find out the forographer and ask him if he agrees to publish it under a free license of his choice (see Commons:Copyright tags). If he agrees he has to send a confirming mail to the commons support team - see Commons:OTRS. Well, a museum normaly does not own the copyright of photos they own, but if the photographer is anonymous and the photo is created in 1923 the license {{Anonymous-EU}} likely applies. I fixed the description page now. regards --JuTa 11:39, 14 February 2021 (UTC)

Und überhaupt: wieso kann man die Uploader nicht informieren, wenn dieser Textbaustein "könnte gelöscht werden" (automatisch?) hinzugefügt wird? Da wird man erst benachrichtigt, wenn schon "gelöscht" (naja, wohl eher versteckt) wurde. Zufällig hatte ich das heute morgen noch gesehen. Hi, I went through the official process to release the document contained in the image File:Covenant between William & Mary’s Catholic Student Association and Canterbury, 1977.jpg and sent the relevant email. Nobody processed that release and this deletion occurred erroneously. Please advise about how to approach the situation. Well, you didnt created that document yourself as claimed on the description page. The question is: Who designed it and the wrote the text on it. This person is lilely the copyright owner, and this person has to confirm the relase by the process documeted on Commons:OTRS. If allready done, you might like to ask on Commons:OTRS noticeboard for this case. Next time please indicate the sent releasing mail by adding {{subst:OP}} to the description page. Bonsoir, Depuis dimanche dernier, j'erre sur Commons sans comprendre dans quelle case je peux déposer ma déclaration sur l'honneur que je suis bien dépositaire des droits d'auteur sur les publications de mon père Nicolas Théobald, décédé le 10 Mai 1981. Je suis sa fille Mireille Théobald, née le 6 Février 1939 à Obernai (Bas-Rhin), épouse Darmois. Pendant quelques années après son décès, j'ai touché des droits d'auteur des éditeurs des ouvrages de mon père. On m'avertit en plus qu'une tierce personne prétend être l'auteur des fichiers. J'ai déposé successivement 2 fois 3 fichiers sur Commons: Une première série de 3 fichiers: Nicolas Théobald, Aquisextana Irenaei ; Terrasses emboîtées ou étagées, M. Darmois-Théobald et Y. Rangheard ; Thèse de Nicolas Théobald, pl. II, Insectes du Sannoisien du Gard. Comme mon tuteur sur Wikipédia trouvait les fonds de ces photocopies trop gris, j'ai ensuite déposé sur le site de Commons une nouvelle série de photocopies scannées dont le fond était blanc: Terrasses alluviales Fig. 1 et 2, T. emboîtées Fig. 3, T. étagées ; N. THEOBALD, Fig. 4 Fac-similé Pl. II Thèse 1937 ; N. THEOBALD, Fig. 5 Aquisextana Irenaei. Je vous prie d'excuser ma maladresse. The author should be changed from your yusername to the name and lifespan of your father included a note that you are his daughter. Speedy deletions

Guten Nachmittag. I noticed you deleted some categories that were empty at the moment with the c2 tag. I'd like you to notice that this reason to delete is linked to empty and (...) obviously unusable, unlikely to be ever meaningfully used (categories). I'd love to know how you can tell a category named XXXX works in YYY or Built in YYY in XXXX is unusable and unlikely to be ever used. When creating (filled) categories, I encountered notices that you already deleted them before. Cleaning is good and necesary, overcleaning is just useless, a loss of time and can even be stupid as some categories will obviously be filled one day. Hallo JuTa! Ist diese Zurücksetzung, weil nicht weiter in die DR geschrieben wurde? Ich habe dutzende Schnelllöschanträge bekommen und nicht die Zeit diese innerhalb von 7 Tagen abzuarbeiten. Da die Bilder definitiv aus Regierungsquellen stammen und nur die URL nachgereicht werden muss, was erfolgen wird, bitte ich um entsprechende Geduld. Angesichts der Schwemme wird das wohl einen Monat dauern. Wenn Du wünschst, kann ich Dich direkt informieren, wenn URLs in einzelnen Bildern eingetragen sind, um den Vorgang dort abzuschließen. Ich verstehe absolut nicht, was Du meinst. Ich habe die Schaltfläche für den Einspruch geegn Schnelllöschung gedrückt und die Seite erstellt. Man kann ja nicht mal hieredirekt einen Kommentar ergänzen. Die LA von A1Cafel machen durch ihre Zahl eine weitere Bearbeitung auch absolut unmöglich. Das beste wäre, wenn man alle gesammelt in einen LA vereinen und ich dort entsprechend der Abarbeitung den Vollzug melden könnte. So ist das Ganze für mich von der Durchführung unverständlich und in der Übersichtlichkeit ungenügend. Wie gesagt, es geht nur um eine Ergänzung der Informationen. Eine URV liegt hier nicht vor und ist auch nicht zu erwarten. Dem Projekt droht kein Schaden, wenn die Bilder einige Wochen noch keine URL haben.

Well, you claimed that the photos are your own work, that means you yourself sot them. This is not true. Thanks, OK, you're right, that compilation is dubious. But for the other images we should have the assumption of innocence. A photographer could make pictures of the same occasion as the video. Then those other images are legal and should not be deleted. We should not exaggerate the hunt for extreme copyright of innocent school pictures? The uploaders "Bmrgirls" on Commons and "BMRMM SDIMS" on YouTube do not have to be identical/different. So i would give them the benefit of the doubt until protests arise, good Dutch legal practice. I added now two lines hoping they make it clear. For clarity: The photo was taken by my father (Wilhelm Fricke) 1940 in Cherbourg. It was a color slide handed over to me, so I have the copyright. The point is: when asking a person who took a selfie to upload it to commons, what should I do? Because if they crop it themselves, the metadata might be removed and it may look like the image was taken from the internet. Copyright calim for Hungaryan state issued coins?

Can you explain what was the legal basis with the removal of those pictures? As I understand, the copyright owner is the Hungaryan National Bank ( MNB in short ) in the case of Hungaryan State issued Forint coins. The MNB gives a general authorization by Law for online publication of the pictures of the Forint coins.

The MNB states that there is no need for special authorisation for imitation of forint coins made available by electronic means, on a website, by wired or wireless means. In Hungaryan: "elektronikus eszköz útján, internetes honlapon, vezetékes vagy vezeték nélküli eszközzel hozzáférhetővé tett forintérme-utánzathoz." I can understand that you dont speak Hungaryan. It isn't an international language. What I can not understand is that what is the basis of your decision if you can not understand Hungaryan Law becaouse of language barriers? Please can you cancel this unfair "redirect to duplicated file", and try to find original file and restore it? Deleting media that *have* all the required permissions for use on Wikipedia

Hello!

You have already deleted a photo that had an explicit permission for use on Wikipedia.

You are now threatening to delete another one - again, a photo that has an explicit permission from the holder of the rights published on its info page. I believe that you might be confused because the permission is not in a language you understand, but this can hardly be a reason for deleting.

Please refrain from such zealous performative "cleaning" and try to gather as much information as you can *before* you act.

Hi B15563T5. The image does not need a permission to use on wikipedia, but a permission for anybody in the world for any purpose, including commercial ones. The copyright holder has to confirm an accepted free license of his choice by sending a mail to the commons supportteam - see Commons:Licensing and Commons:OTRS. Okay because I stumbled upon logos from Albanian universities that were uploaded 4 years ago and recently, it has be tagged as copyvio just recently. Around the same year, that user (who I am talking about) had uploaded Albanian football logos in the past which were deleted possibly because of copyright.
