Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Made a mistake?

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Wikimedia Commons has a specific scope[edit]

Thank you for your contributions. Your image or other content was recently deleted, or will soon be deleted, in accordance with our process and policies, because it was not, or is not, within our scope. Please review our project scope, but in short, Commons is targeted at media files including photographs, diagrams, animations, music, spoken text and video clips. Wikimedia Commons does not contain text articles like encyclopedia articles, textbooks, news, word definitions and such. Each of these other kinds of content have their own projects: Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikinews, Wiktionary and Wikiquote.

If the content seems to fit the scope of one of those other projects, please consider contributing it there. If you think that the deletion was in error because the contribution really was in scope, you can appeal it at Commons:Undeletion requests, giving a reason why it fits our scope to help others evaluate the matter. To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.

You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.

The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Llotja[edit]

Imagino que vols dir la pàgina Category:Llotja de la Seda. Això és una categoria on s'inclouen automàticament totes les imatges classificades en aquesta categoria. Una altra cosa diferent és una galeria, com Llotja de Palma, on es pot fer una selecció d'imatges, es poden comentar amb un peu d'imatge i es poden classificar en seccions. --V.Riullop (talk) 12:58, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't blank pages[edit]

Hi Joanbanjo,
Thank you for your contributions to Commons. I noticed you blanked Category:Teulada on Commons. I asume you meant for the page to be deleted, but blanking the page is not the right way to do this. I'd like to strongly recommend to use {{speedy| type reason here }} and add it on top of the page you would like to have deleted; This way it will be placed on a special list that administrators check regularly for deletion. Fotos de València per identificar[edit]

Hem tingut darrerament un allau de fotos de monuments, força bones però no gaire ben identificades, com les dues de la llotja de la seda que avui has recategoritzat. Entre les que no hem pogut categoritzar, i que dubto que siguin monuments protegits, hi ha:

Dues fotos que se suposa que són del carrer dels Cavallers, tot i que això també ho dubto:

Tres fotos d'un edifici (aquest edifici) del costat del museu de la Ciutat, però que no són del palau del Marqués de Campos. Crec que no és un monument protegit, però no sé si té un nom:

Ferramentes per categoritzar[edit]

Veig que estàs fent molta feina categoritzant imatges. Hi ha dues eines que crec que et poden anar molt bé pel que estàs fent: el HotCat i el Cat-a-lot. Santa Caterina[edit]

Hola, vaig deixar-li aquest missatge a un altre usuari en compte de a tu, pensant que va ser ell qui va redirigir la categoria sobre la torre de Santa Caterina:

Hola, he tornat a canviar el nom de la categoria sobre la torre de Santa Caterina, que havies redirigit des-de Tower of Santa Catalina a Tower of Santa Caterina (Valencia). La política corresponent diu que hem d'utilitzar els noms preferentment en anglés (no una mescla), i açó vaig fer des de la primera vegada tras una búsqueda a Google, on vaig veure que Tower of Santa Catalina es com s'anomena majoritariament en anglés.

Espere que no ho prengues a mal, perquè l'altra persona ja m'ha acusat de dinamitar el projecte al fer el canvi de nom. Com l'he dit, el títol estava mal perquè en anglès no s'escriu València sino Valencia, i vaig aprofitar per a canviar de nou Santa Caterina per Santa Catalina, tras buscar a Google, que es l'única font de la que disposo per comprovar-ho. Si trobes que m'he equivocat i que anomenen l'església com Churh of Santa Caterina de Valencia, Church of St. Catherine o alguna cosa pareguda, doncs fem el canvi una altra vegada sense problemes. Anomenar les paraules en anglés no cal si la categoria està completament en valencià, però tin-ho en compte per a categories com Church towers in Valencia en lloc de Church towers in València. Mont-Olivet i falles[edit]

Sospite que a :ca gasten la forma "montolivet" (així com Bega Baixa [sic] per a parlar d'altre barri) perquè són, o serien al seu moment, els "noms oficials" d'eixos districtes/barris. Tanmateix segons este link el nom és Mont-Olivet, o siga que jo em plantejaria el demanar el canvi de nom de l'article a :ca. Pel que fa als ninots en exposició permanent, al no ser a l'aire lliure cauen fora del FOP. Tanmateix, en ser exposició permanent crec que hi han excepcions. Mira Estes dos discussions. Hola. Conteste un mes després, que he recordat la discussió ara que he apujat més fotos falleres. Cite d'una anterior discussió: "FoP: Permanent vs temporary: The exhibited objects must be exhibited in a permanent way. If a work is presented on a public place temporarily, one may be obliged to get the explicit permission to take its picture. Whether a work is installed at a public place permanently or not is not a question of absolute time, but a question of what the intention was when the work was placed there. a "Sudanell, el Segrià, Catalunya (A SiT D6715).jpg , si a la imatge es pot veure tant Sudanell com Lleida, perquè cal suprimir la Categoria Sudanell ?
A "Rutes Històriques a Horta-Guinardó-bobila carmen 05.jpg" es pot veure la Bobila Carmen però també una panoràmica del barri de la Teixonera. Línies i Lledó[edit]

Ahir anarem a prendre unes fotos de la Línia XYZ (fortificacions republicanes de la Guerra Civil) i passarem per Mascarell. Vaig fer-li una foto a una Verge de Lledó i a un casalici amb pense que Sant Miquel. Pot-ser t'interessin. Codi WLM[edit]

Ep, bona feina amb els monuments. Però seria perfecte si també hi poses el codi a les fotos. Totes les del concurs es carreguen en una base de dades amb diferents utilitats i estadístiques a partir del seu codi. Només amb {{BIC|<codi>}} n'hi ha prou i ja diferencia en la majoria de casos si és BIC o BRL. Exemple. Alternativament pots utilitzar el botó blau (+) de les llistes. Doncs no sabria dir-te quina és la millor classificació i els noms corresponents. Només se m'acut seguir el que diuen els articles d'aquests llocs sobre les parts més destacades. La veritat és que hi ha subcategories on m'hi perdo perquè no queda clar de què es tracta. Després cal conèixer el lloc per poder identificar les fotos. Gràcies. Ho preguntava perquè estic pensant en fer una llista de coves a partir del catàleg com a part de ca:Viquiprojecte:Patrimoni natural. És possible que aquest any en lloc de fer Wiki Loves Monuments fem el Wiki Loves Earth sobre patrimoni natural. Ja he localitzar fotos teves relacionades amb el tema i segurament et pot interessar aquest nou concurs i el projecte per organitzar la informació de patrimoni natural. No està encara decidit però aviat hi poden haver notícies.

Sobre el refugi antiaeri veig que ja existeix Category:Air raid shelters in the Land of Valencia. Els noms de categories genèriques van en anglès, però pel nom d'un element en concret no veig problema en posar el nom local ja que és difícil trobar literatura en anglès. Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

La Creu Coberta[edit]

L'altre dia ens adonàrem de que les garites del Parc d'Enginyers i del Parc d'Artilleria del carrer Sant Vicent les havien demolit. Com que no les haviem fotografiades (estavem tan acostumats a vore-les que les teniem per eternes) eixirem de safari pel barri i la meua dona va fer unes dotzenes de fotos de coses que no tenen el futur massa assegurat. Si mires en la categoria La Creu Coberta i en les subcategories que penjen d'ella potser trobes coses per a classificar. Hem fet ja alguna feina, però confie més en el teu criteri.

If your bot or script is receiving the warning about this upcoming change (as seen at https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages ), it's time to fix your code!

The simple solution is to simply include the "rawcontinue" parameter with your request to continue receiving the raw continuation data (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&rawcontinue=1>). No other code changes should be necessary.
Or you could update your code to use the simplified continuation documented at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/API:Query#Continuing_queries (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&continue=>), which is much easier for clients to implement correctly.

La Vall d'Alba[edit]

Ahir varem estar de safari per La Vall d'Alba (amb les pedanies de La Pelejana, La Pelejaneta i La Barona), Figueroles i l'Alcora. A la Vall d'Alba trobarem un fum de plaques commemoratives amb els noms del President (Zaplana o Camps), l'alcalde (no recorde el seu nom) i Carlos Fabra. Fins i tot hi ha casos com una església construida pel bisbat en terres donades per una família o una estàtua finançada integrament per una altra... i el Fabra hi és al cartell! La qüestió és que intentarem fer una categoria coherent. Hi havia més plaques: ens avorrirem de fer-ne tot el temps de la mateixa cosa.
T'ho dic perque tu tens més mà per aixó de la categorització. Pot ser se t'ocorreix alguna categoria més.
De les plaques hi ha dues que no són de C.F. Una és la dels Caídos. Una altra, a l'ermita de Sant Cristòfol, recorda a un altre Fabra, el de 1906.

Hola! El cap de setmana passat vaig baixar a València i vaig visitar Sant Miquel dels Reis. Baixant per l'escala que hi ha darrere l'església es veien per la finestra unes alqueries enmig de l'horta (són les que apareixen en aquesta pàgina del Google Maps). Saps com es diuen? Per cert, com es diu aquesta zona d'horta que hi ha entre Sant Miquel dels Reis, Tavernes Blanques, Alboraia i l'avinguda dels Germans Machado? Aprovat, sí senyor! Algun dels documents que m'has passat ja els havia trobat, però no havia trobat la referència de les dues cases, i per això no vaig saber identificar-les. Pel que fa al nom, havia trobat racó de Sant Llorenç i horta de Sant Miquel dels Reis, i no sabia decidir-me per quin de tots dos. Moltes gràcies per tot! En tan sols dos dies vaig fer més de 800 fotos, i vaig aprofitar per visitar llocs de la ciutat que no coneixia, com Sant Miquel dels Reis, el parc de Marxalenes, l'Almodí, el Museu de la Ciutat, la cripta de Sant Vicent, la casa de les Roques, la Casa Museu Benlliure, el MuVIM o l'església de Sant Nicolau, i vaig pujar a les torres dels Serrans, que a dalt no hi havia estat mai. Els llocs més turístics (la Catedral, la Llotja, el Mercat Central, la basílica de la Mare de Déu, l'IVAM, el Centre del Carme, la Beneficència, la Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències o el xalet de Blasco Ibáñez de la Malva-rosa) ja me'ls coneixia d'altres vegades. Ah, i vam aprofitar també per recorre'ns el Cabanyal i el Canyamelar de dalt a baix! En fi, que van ser uns dies profitosos. Uns afegitons més[edit]

Hola. Hem aprofitat estos dies per a traure fotos d'alguns llocs més. Quesa, Xella, Estubeny, Rotglà i Corberà, i Benimuslem. A més també hem anat a fer-ne per al concurs de Llocs de la Guerra Civil (la sòcia en té un fum de València, a més de gaire de Torrent, la Reva, Alpont, el Villar i altres coses); pense que algunes coses més del País sortiran a aquest concurs. Moltes gràcies per Anna, que faltava totalment. La Costera, la Safor i la Vall d'Albaida són les comarques on más buits hi queden. Anem fent coses, però no hi arribem a tots els llocs. Però ja saps, entre tots ho farem tot.

Estem organitzan per al 9 d'abril una expedició a l'Horta de Vera amb el suport de la Secció de la Dona de l'Ajuntament de València i de la Universitat Politècnica. Hem de facilitar un llistat per a l'accés al Politècnic (ens deixen lloc per a editar).

Category:Wiki Takes Camí de Vera[edit]

Bon dia. Ahir anàrem a fer el wiki-takes. N'eren uns deu i la gent va pujant les fotos. Pense que en trobaràs d'interesants. Per exemple, hi han bones del Molí de Farinós, a la frontera amb Alboraia. Estic fent una mica de categorització. Com que el terreny que varem recòrrer fa part de dos barris (La Carrasca a l'est i Camí de Vera a l'oest) a voltes la gent ha embolicat la categoria. No és massa greu, ja estic corregint errades. La cosa és que hi ha llocs dels que he trobat el nom: Casa Carles (senzill, ho fica a la façana), Casa del Moreno, Casa del Ferrero, Casa Zarza, Alqueria de Bayarri (eixa està tocant l'autovia i amb l'ampliació de segur que l'enderroquen). Estoy organizando un poco las pinturas de Valencia y, como algunas ya están incluidas en sus respectivos museos, por eso les he quitado la categoría de Paintings in Valencia, en la que de ser posible sólo deben figurar las pinturas de los museos y las que no tengan categoría propia.

Le ruego que me deje hacer a mí lo del museo más que nada porque he sido yo quien ha comenzado y sobre todo porque conozco la estructura general, que yo mismo estoy procurando crear. Aunque soy cordobés, habrá observado que soy extremadamente respetuoso con la lengua catalana, y que no se me puede acusar de proespañolista, porque las categorías del museo las estoy poniendo en catalanglish, como por ejemplo Male portrait paintings in the Museu de Belles Arts de València.

De los varios centenares de cuadros del museo que hay subidos a Commons, yo mismo he subido por lo menos algunas docenas, sobre todo de retratos, y ahora que me puesto a arreglar el museo tengo intención, si Dios quiere, de subir bastantes más. Además, es una pinacoteca impresionante, y por hay que ir despacito y con buena letra. Ya sé que usted ha subido miles de fotos del Levante español, y yo, modestia aparte, ya he arreglado las pinturas de docenas de museos españoles y también las obras de muchos pintores concretos. Y de hecho, hace pocos días terminé de arreglar todas las obras del Greco ubicadas en museos españoles, que no es moco de pavo.

Comentarle una cosa[edit]

Quería pedirle un favor, aunque por supuesto sin obligación ninguna por su parte. Estoy procurando arreglar los museos de la Comunidad Valenciana, y por lo menos crear páginas de INSTITUTION para ellos siempre que sea posible y/o recomendable, porque hay museos que no constan en los ficheros de autoridades como VIAF.

Lo mío son las pinturas, pero no la arqueología, por eso venía a proponerle que, si tiene usted tiempo y valor y le interesa el tema de la Arqueología, intente poner un poco de orden en el Museo de Prehistoria de Valencia y en el Museo de Arqueología de Alicante, por ponerle dos ejemplos. Yo lo haría de mil amores, pero lo cierto es que para clasificar antiguedades y objetos arqueológicos hay que saber mucho más del tema de lo que yo sé. Pero si usted se anima, o sabe de alguien que pudiera estar interesado, lo dejo en sus manos.

He acudido a usted porque me da lástima que unos museos tan destacados estén tan mal organizados y porque es usted uno de los que más fotografías ha subido de Valencia y de toda la Comunidad Valenciana, (por no decir el que más con gran diferencia, lo que le honra). Sueca - Arròs - Paella[edit]

Bon dia. Diumenge 11 de setembre anirem a Sueca per al Concurs Internacional de Paella Valenciana. Amb aquest motiu estem quedant uns quants socis i no socis de Wikimedia Espanya per a fer una invasió fotogràfica de la vila i del propi concurs. Que un element es pugui classificar en una altra categoria pot ser que a tu et sembli innecessària, però si algú vol centrar-se en buscar museus en un territori determinat, hauria de rebuscar en totes les subcategrías de tipus i de ciutats per veure si troba el que busca . D'una categoria amb un nombre elevat de subcategories i fotos, totalment caòtica per qui accedeix per primera vegada per trobar alguna cosa (moltes de les subcategories nomes tenen el nom del museu, per saber on es aquell museu s'ha d'obrir la categoria y busca a quina categoria territorial esta), hem passat a una categoria on es poden seguir diversos camins depenent en què estàs interessat (territori, tipus, etc. Category:Museums_in_the_Land_of_Valencia).--JT Curses (talk) 00:59, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Si et refereixes a Category:Museums in the Land of Valencia by province, si que crec que no fa falta, però les de les tres províncies, jo les considero necessàries encara que sigui per no trencar el camí que s'inicia amb Category:Museums in Spain by province i, que a mida que es van clasifican arxius (no els de la categoria, si no els que encara no estan classificats, ben classificats, etc.), es va constatant la necessitat d'organitzar algunes categories, que és la raó per la qual em vaig posar amb Category:Museums_in_the_Land_of_Valencia (jo estava repassant i classificant altres categories), però no aniré més enllà aquest debat, ni desfaré res del que facis. Vall d'Albaida[edit]

It would seem that you have some confusion about certain geographical locations and categories within Vall d'Albaida, in the province of Valencia.

For your information, the Paraje Municipal Natural of El Surar, which merits a category of its own, falls within the municipalities of Pinet and Llutxent, and is representative of both for those with and without local knowledge.

Additionally, El Surar lies on a variant of the Route of the Monasteries of Valencia, as can be seen by the numerous photographs of signposts for the Route taken, and duly tagged with their respective geolocations, within El Surar, and as such represents a noteworthy location on said Route for those wishing to find out information about the same.

These are simple examples which, independently of your personal preferences, can be easily verified by simple searches in the Interner or, alternatively, by physically visiting the locations themselves.

By placing such images within as many relevant and verifiable categories, they become easier to find for a greater number of users, which, as you surely know and which have already been informed of on your Talk page, is the purpose of their uploading to Wikicommons in the first place.

Furthermore, your desire to add additional categories, whilst simultaneously deleting existing categories without consultation, caused unnecessary, time consuming work which could be easily avoided through simple consultation with the user responsible for the original addition of the image, and the category, in question.

I hope this helps you to respect the contributions of others within Wikicommons to the diffusion of the natural and cultural heritage of Vall d'Albaida to the widest audience possible.

Hola! First of all thank you for uploading photos, go on :). I know where Pinet, Llutxent and el Surar are, but it seems that there is a problem of understanding how categories work. Is not a problem of personal preferences, mine or yours, the general rule is always place an image in the most specific categories, and not in the levels above those. See OVERCAT. For instance Category:Pinet (Vall d'Albaida) is a subcategory of Category:Populated places of Vall d'Albaida and Category:Municipalities in the province of Valencia, which in turn are subcategories of Category:Vall d'Albaida and Category:Province of Valencia and so on. A [[Category:Hiking trails in Spain]] sí que apareix [[category:Long-distance paths in Spain‎]] però per als de petit recorregut PR no he vist res. Com ho faries tu? M'ajudes amb alguna proposta? porqué ha trasladado el nombre de la categoría del museo de Crevillente al catalán? Yo soy muy respetuoso con los regionalismos, y usted lo sabe bien, pero creo que ese traslado no es apropiado, o es que acaso los nombres de un museo, sólo por el hecho de estar en Valencia, deben ir en catalán?

A mi, francamente, me da igual que los nombres vayan en catalán o en castellano, pero usted debe comprender que como no domino el catalán es lógico que yo ponga los nombres en español. Vamos a ver[edit]

Estoy arreglando en Wikidata y también en Commons los museos de toda España, y precisamente ahora estoy con los únicos que me quedan, que son los de la Comunidad Valenciana. Eso que estoy haciendo lo he hecho en los museos de toda España y hasta ahora nadie se me ha quejado, sino al contrario, ya que han gradecido muchas de mis ediciones.

La verdad es que yo, por educación elemental, le hablo de usted a todo el mundo, y sobre todo a los usuarios a los que apenas conozco. Es cierto que muchas de las iglesias ya están divididas en interior y en exterior gracias a mi, pero no todas ni mucho menos, y además no soy yo el que ha inventado ese sistema, sino que lo aprendí de otros usuarios. Es inmensamente útil que el interior de las iglesias, cuando hay más de diez o quince fotografías, esté agrupado, porque para eso se inventaron las categorías de Interiors of churches in.... Y con respecto al exterior de los templos, ya le digo que voy a hablar con una administradora que conozco para ver si es posible que también todas esas categorías de exteriores estén agrupadas. Dues coses: Albaida i contornada i geolocalització[edit]

Bon dia. Hem estant prenent fotos de municipis que no en tenien, i també de monuments i altres coses dels municipis que encara que estaven, en mancaven de varietat o de repressentació de certs llocs. La qüestió és que pel que fa als municipis, la província de Castelló ja està feta i de València en faltaven tres (Bufali, Bèlgida i Benissoda). Els hem fet aquesta setmana.

Aprofitat l'ocasió, també hem afegit fotos d'Albaida. Amb la nostra política eclèctica, a més de monuments hi ha coses com la caserna de la Guàrdia Civil o les vivendes socials del barri de la Verge del Pilar. La cosa és que no he col·laborat massa amb les categories perquè estic geolocalitzant fotos. Una mica a la brava: les del meu usuari, les de la meua dona, les del municipi de torn. Algunes teues n'he geolocalitzat. Estic utilitzant aquesta eina: [6].

Tornant dels Cerros de Úbeda, al País Valencià queden només onze municipis sense foto: Benferri, Benifallim, Benifato, Benijófar, Daya Nueva, Daya Vieja, Dolores, el Fondó de les Neus, Formentera del Segura, Orxeta i Rafal. La majoria del Deep South del Baix Segura.

La qüestió dels monuments la porta més la meua dona. Hi ha llistats en castellà i en català, amdos amb la característica comuna de ser imperfectes. Normalment acava per fer-se llistes ad-hoc depenent d'on anem. He tractat de fer una mica de ordre utilitzant una categoria invisible, però no és una cosa massa eficient ni currada.

I només una nota final. Hem anat a Bombas Gems. Les parts més cridaneres (celler, refugi) no són encara accessibles. Diuen que a octubre.

Hola. El 12 de novembre pel matí anirem a fer un wikitakes a Alboraia. I ara estic obrint categories per a les coses que volem fotografiar. Les estic obrint a saco, potser no totes tinguen ús, peró ara mateix fan -en teoria- falta. T'ho deia perquè pot ser que hi hagi buildings que no siguin exactament buildings i coses així. Trobar-ne informació ha sigut complicat, d'algunes coses no sé com són i d'altres només les tinc localitzades aproximadament. Tot i això pensem fer-ne tots els llocs proposats posibles. Vaig crear fa temps la categoria Category:Views from mountains in the Land of Valencia per a categoritzar entre d'altres la Serra Perenxisa, que és més bé baixeta.

Sense recordar el que havia fet, remenant per a crear Category:Views of Quart de les Valls from Muntanya de La Creu he vist que existia Category:Views from hills, i jo he creat Category:Views from hills in Spain. I ara tinc el dubte de si seria més correcte usar esta darrera per a la Serra Perenxisa, i on estaria el límit entre mountain i hill. Pots fer-li una ullada i donar-me la teua opinió?

Muralles de València ciutat[edit]

Hola Joanbanjo. He tractar de ficar una mica d'ordre a la Categoria City walls of València.

El tema estava força desordrenat. De partida el llistat de monuments de la Generalitat no parla de la muralla romana, i parla de "muralla medieval" quan al periode es varen construir dues, una al segle XI i una altra al XIV. Un bon embolic de partida, que s'ha extès als llistats de Wiki Loves Monuments i als de ca:wiki i es:wiki, i de seguides a Wikidata.

He obert subcategories per a les muralles romana, del segle XI i del segle XIV. He obert alguna categoria d'elements concrets, com els trams del carrer Palomino o del Centre Octubre. El cas peculiar de la Porta de la Mar, que a hores d'ara és una obra de Goerlich de 1944, he optat per no afegir-la ni a cap de les tres muralles "feten".

He afegit en cada categoria la fitxa del Catàleg de Béns Protegits del PGOU de València -és un anexe a una norma legal i per tant es pot pujar a Commons- de manera que tenim ben definides cadascuna de les muralles.

Lamente no poder ajudar més amb el tema, però només m'hi he clavat per poder acabar els Q dels monuments del País Valencià. Em queden ja pocs, però per aixó mateix tendeixen a ser gaire complexos. Espere no haver trancat res!

Museu de la Setmana Santa Marinera + Museu de l'Arrós + Molí d'Umbert i Serra[edit]

Bon dia. Hui he anat a totes eixes coses que són al mateix lloc. Buscava informació sobre la Fàbrica de Roca al Camí de les Moreres (pots buscar-la a Wikidata Q107423979, però no a la realitat: va ser enderrocada fa anys) i no en tenen cap; la dona encarregada és molt amable, però sap que no té documentació, però pregunta molt.

Hi ha una mescla de coses i només una categoria. El museu de la Setmana Santa és una guerra, el del arròs n'és una altra i l'edifici és força interessant per ell mateix. Si un dia s'emporten els contiguts dels museus encara romandrà un monument d'arquitectura industrial curiòs.

Tractaré de separar unes coses d'unes altres.

Les fonts del Jardí d'Aiora[edit]

Continue amb els Bens Immobles d'Etnologia (BIE). Ara estic amb fonts de València ciutat, una font de maldecaps. Al Jardí d'Aiora hi han al menys dues fonts. Voràs que lis he fet categories. La que té classificació com BIE és la utilitària. Sorprenentment, la més bonica i decorativa no està en el llistat. Pense que qui va fer la fitxa per a la Generalitat es va enganyar de font, però "donde hay capitán no manda marinero": he creat el Q de data (d:Q107677175) de la que menciona el catàleg oficial. Pel que fa a les fotos, al menys en tenim de les dues. El dubte que tinc és si no hi haurà alguna font més pel jardí. Tot açò era per a explicar-te les dues categories noves.

Un altre cas són les fonts del Cementeri General, que oficialment són dues, i que quan varen fer les fitxes una estava en un magatzem després de ser restaurada. No sé si són les mateixes, on estan exactament... fins i tot podrien estar encara emmagatzemades. De moment he deixat fets els Q (d:Q107676464 i d:Q107677010) i ja m'acostaré a dotorejar el cementeri una volta més. Són fonts utilitàries, no massa distintives.

Hola, bona faena com sempre i perdó per tardar en contestar, se me'n va. Sí, de vegades és complicat separar la institució (el museu) de l'edifici que l'allotja (el molí), per això preferisc no categoriztar-ho tot al mínim, però bé si son Béns millor que tinguen categoria. I pel que fa a les fonts gran treball també (potser posaria alguna pega d'algun nom xD), poc a poc estaran totes, si no estan totes les que es poden, incloses les que tenen amagades.

I que dir de lo de Castalla, molt bé, la wiki o la Generalitat vos hauria de pagar la gasolina. Una queixeta, mireu un poc la qualitat de les fotos abans de penjar (per ex: File:Iglesia de la Asunción de Castalla 12.jpg o File:Iglesia de la Asunción de Castalla 30.jpg), si voleu, no vull quedar com un tiquismiquis :). He repassat amb 19Tarrestnom65 les fotos de Castalla i les dos són errades. Una és directament no res. L'altra no era per pujar. Però com sempre va en plan industrial, si li'n colen d'eixes i de pijors.
Ara hi ha en funcionament un concurs [7] de fotografía dels Espais Valorians. L'organitza molta gent, però no pujen massa fotos. De fet volien veure si un tal Joanbanjo, que té fotos molt bones de per eixos llocs, pujaria unes quantes fotos més. T'ho dic i fas el que vulgues. Una altra cosa és que el 30 d'octubre hi ha un wiki takes a Castalla [8]. Si vols vindre, és passar el matí. No controlem massa el poble però volem acabar-lo. Pizarro 1[edit]

Hola. Estic afegint Q en Wikidata i he fet el que correspon a l'edifici del Carrer Pizarro 1 Q109062259. Fa cantó amb Colom; com a nota peculiar, és on té la seu Falange. En 1943 li va reformar la façana J. Goerlich i per aixó ix als llibres d'arquitectura. M'extranya que no tinga foto, de fet pense que alguna hi ha. Però no les trobe. Per si en tens o saps on estan. Unes poques fotos de CIutat Vella[edit]

¡Hola! Hui matí hem pegat una batuda per Ciutat Vella. Hem fet unes quantes fotos de la zona de l'avinguda de l'Oest, per omplir buits a Wikidata. La majoria corresponen a edificis dels anys quaranta i cinquanta, que vaig catalogar hi perque eixen a un paper d'Arquitectura. Hi ha més coses les quals igual trobes interessants. Les puja 19Tarrestnom65, que les fa ella.

També hem fet alguna coseta per Sant Vicent, perquè estan enderrocant les tanques de l'antic parc d'enginyers. Tenim una foto sorprenent del 258 de Sant Vicent, què té un pati tot complet, en ús i bon estat, que mai no es podia veure des del carrer.

I invite you to a reflection after I saw that you once again removed a category, Category:Sculptures in Mola di Bari, from another category, Category:Monuments and memorials in Mola di Bari‎. This I can also understand can be interpreted as a classical memorial, the memorial with sculpture, be it a statue, or a complex of statues or a simple plaque with or without reliefs. In reality, at least here in Italy, but I believe also elsewhere, it is considered a monument also, for example, a building where a massacre has been committed, or a chapel dedicated to the memory of the fallen in some war or battle. This, Category:Monumento ai caduti (Villamarzana), was the home and store of the barber of the village, but since they executed the partisans, or allegedly so, has become a monument to their memory and to the victims, in general, of Nazi-fascism. Hola! Ja estem arribant al Corpus. La pàgina del viquiprojecte la van actualitzant. Ja es sap alguna cosa més. Les Roques que a hores d'ara estan a l'Estació del Nord no desfilaran; però les Àligues, la Cuca-fera i altres elements sí aniran. Es a dir, que els actes seran una mica "reduïts" en quantitat d'elements. En compensació, pots fer fotos a l'estació.

Hi haurà passos de premsa i si en vols podries tindre. D'altra banda, si mires els actes voràs que hi ha un fum de coses dintre de les dues cavalcades i als actes que les envolten, aleshores, la miés es mucha y pocos los operarios.

Coses rares diverses "in the Land of Valencia"[edit]

Hola! Estic pujant de coses provinents de parents diversos i són força variades i potser estranyes. He trobar una invitació als Premis Octubre de 1974, pense que és la segona edició. Hi ha altres coses de taxes municipals que veig que les has trobades ja.

Dins de Category:Rosa Bueno stuff hi ha algunes coses pintoresques. La categoria és només una categoria invisible de control, les coses també porten categories "normals".

Respecte de "Valencia, Spain", últimament estic fent categories amb "València" amb accent. El problema és que pot haver-hi categories de les altres Valències, especialment de la de Califòrnia. Alqueria trobada a Sant Antoni[edit]

Dissabte passat anàrem al barri de Sant Antoni, per allò de la festa, i ens hi trovàrem una alqueria. En tinc cinc fotos (per exemple File:Alqueria al barri de Sant Antoni, València 05.jpg) i les he ficades a les categories del barri i d'Alqueries de València. Està als carrers Agustí Centelles Ossó, Ministre Mayans, i Germans Fabrilo.

La qüestió és que estic convençut de que l'alqueria té nom propi. He mirat el plànol històric de la web de l'Ajuntament, poerò el nom no es llegisc. Com que és una alqueria caldria que tinguera protecció, però tampoc no he conseguit cap informació.

Pot ser tu sàpigues alguna cosa. (O per si vols fer-li millors fotos, que això es nota que no és lo meu)

It's going awful, what a mess all around! :) Technically speaking you're correct, because in strict sense at least half those categories under architectural elements by country/style are disputable as true architectural elements, you can find various things: interiors, exteriors, furniture, building parts, ornaments, details, etc. However, there's no better alternative at the moment, considering existing category tree (metacats). Currently, the major subcats for architectural styles are buildings, bridges, architectural elements, landscape architecture, fortifications, and architects. If I see some consensus to treat interiors or other topics separately, I'll gladly change those hundreds of categories to keep unification. Well, in the Internet Archive you can pretty easy check how categories like Romanesque architecture, Gothic architecture, Renaissance architecture, Baroque architecture, Historicist architecture, Baroque architecture looked like a year ago. There was an utter mess, tens of various categories without any order (something like e.g. Modernist architecture in Argentina now). So there was a consensus to keep mess?! :) I dare to say that I've made a significant improvement, just see all these categories now. This discussions about interiors and similar things are now simply sweet worries. Regarding the situation of interiors before, I was checking and there was nothing on talk pages, and as far as I remember in most cases interiors were under elements, so I followed it. And I know there are many similar disputable cases of not true elements like naves, tiles, furniture, etc.

Anyway, I prefer to keep the major subcats as they are at the moment, but I promise you that in a short time I'll contact other categorist colleagues who are working hardly on architectural cats (like Themightyquill, Allforrous, Elkost, Auntof6...) so we'll make a decision about it. There was nothing on the talk page because there was nothing to discuss, it seems clear. If a single element is not clear just leave it on the main page. And I don't see an improvement in necessarily bringing together categories that are barely related or with one or a few subcategories. In the Argentine example, maybe a litlle order would be ok but in general there you can see everything without having to navigate ino a multitude of almost empty pages. Maybe it's a matter of taste. Actually there is, in The Handbook of Interior Architecture and Design I can see there are even professional disagreements about definition of interior. Here, they are treated as "an integral part of the structures that contain them – usually buildings" (John Pile). Therefore, in architectural elements, which contains also various building/structure parts. Not necessarily a building element, otherwise we would put architectural elements under buildings. I strongly disagree on leaving anything on the main page which is not a very primary topic.

Regarding the Argentina example, just look at the counter case, Gothic architecture in Germany. Germany has a lot of Gothic architecture, but it is reduced to seven major subcategories, and it takes a few seconds to find what you're looking for. On the very contrary, in Argentina it takes several minutes. If I search some famous house, perhaps it's under major category, perhaps under subcategory like buildings or houses, who knows. Perhaps it has English name, perhaps Spanish. And perhaps all mentioned is under alphabetic order, or perhaps keyed. The similar case is with 19th-century architecture in Spain (order) and 19th-century architecture in Russia (mess). However, I do agree it's not always useful to make 20-30 subcats for 100 Modernist buildings in Argentina. But there are solutions for it, for example making category called Modernist buildings in Argentina by name. E.g. Bridges in Japan has 13 primary metacats, as well as other metacats, but you can find all bridges in Bridges in Japan by name. --Orijentolog (talk) 09:52, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. This is getting too long for a sweet worry xD. Let's see if I understand: you say that there are disagreements about what the interiors are and yet you transfer everything to elements, fine. "An integral part of the structures that contain them – usually buildings" doesn't seem like an integral part is a separate element, but ok. Therefore, in architectural elements, ... and Not necessarily a building element seems contradictory since the two concepts (architecture and building) are mostly interchangeable. Better to leave it in the main category and not hide it in the element category, right?

And as for whether you or I agree on, it doesn't matter. It should matter to the casual visitor who isn't used to navigating through layers and layers of categories.

Returning to this topic, Argentina or Germany. Maybe Argentina lacks a bit of order and Germany has too much. For example Gothic buildings in Germany (and all countries) didn't exist until you created it, only six types of buildings that could be in the main category (as they were). Clearer and simpler. Gothic fortifications in Germany not necessary since it only has one possible subcategory (castles) that exists at the same time in Gothic buildings, a bit circular. Economía de la provincia de Valencia[edit]

Hola, No considero redundante la cuestión de que la economía de valencia se categorice a la vez en las categorías de por ciudad de la comunidad autónoma y de por provincia. Son jerarquías diferentes. Me limito a trasladar a Valencia el esquema que se aplica al resto de provincias españolas. Tampoco entiendo por qué la categoría Economy of the province of Valencia deba redirigirse a Economy of the Land of Valencia. De hecho, hay mucho material repartido en la categoría Economy of the Land of Valencia que puede (y debe) categorizarse a la vez por provincias. Esta la pauta corriente en el resto de provincias. Hola! No sé si redundante, pero bastante innecesaria sí. Tampoco es obligatorio trasladar el esquema del resto de provincias a esta o otra autonomia, que cierta estandarización va bien pero en general categorizar por autonomia ya sobra (depende de cual también). Lo de la redirección era para eliminarla y el material repartido dentro está bien repartido en la categorias concretas y no debe añadirsele otras por seguir determinada pauta porque sí. Por ejemplo la pesca esta dentro de economia, si hubiera foto correspondiente a x provincia seria totalmente excesivo añadirle economy of tal cunado ya tiene una categoria apropiada y ajustada. Y lo mismo con el resto de categorias, no solo con esta. Por poner otro ejemplo de arquitectura (que nos gusta a los dos) si una columna esta categorizada como romana en Extremadura seria totalmente forzado añadirle otra categoria por provincia, vamos. Hola de nuevo. En mi opinión, existiendo el material categorizable, es apropiado y conveniente reproducir en las categorías de Commons, al menos las más importantes, el esquema tradicional de Estado > subdivisión territorial de nivel 2 (regiones, estados federados, comunidades autónomas) > nivel 3 (provincias, departamentos, distritos, condados) > nivel 4 (ciudades) que se aplica al general de los países. Por una consistencia geográfica y también para facilitar a los usuarios la localización de contenidos. IMHO, no considero redundante o innecesario el hecho de que un mismo contenido sea accesible desde distintas vías porque cuelga de diferentes categorías aun tratándose del mismo concepto (divisiones territoriales). Holi again. Commons es el correlato gráfico de Wikipedia no, son dos proyectos diferentes, uno no sigue al otro. Que existan determinadas divisiones territoriales no implica (o no debería) que se refleje en una categoria. Crear categorias así da como resultado categorias cuasi vacias, artificiales y forzadas. Un ejemplo extremo seria este Statues of Saint John the Baptist in France by department, multitud de categorias con apenas contenido. Commons no está para informar de geografia y cuantas menos vías haya para acceder al contenido (y mas dirigidas) mejor, de lo contrario se podrian crear categorias ad infinutum. En general seria que a cada divisón administrativa sus categorias necesarias y no las que tengan todas por seguir un modelo uniforme. Mantenerlo simple y accesible. Una cosa son las categorías ad infinitum o artificiales y otra la existencia de contenido obviamente categorizable. Si existe este, sobre todo si lo hay en abundancia, corresponde colocarlo bajo la categoría conceptual adecuada. Y cierta estandarización es también pertinente, porque hay que aportar claridad, orden y homogeneidad. Todos los proyectos de Wikimedia son divulgativos, culturales y educativos. Si no lo fueran, no tendría sentido su existencia. Pienso sobre todo en las categorías de nivel jerárquico elevado. Poco tiene que ver enredarse con desglosar estatuas de determinado santos por regiones y prestar atención a una categoría tan elevada como la economía, la cultura o el transporte. Cuando se trata de provincias, obviamente, unas tienen más contenido que otras. Pero con los años, ya todas presentan el suficiente contenido como para ofrecer una estructura similar, incluso homogénea, en una serie de categorías básicas, sin apenas excepciones. Si hay 45 o 47 provincias con la categoría "Economy of the province of" (una categoría de nivel alto) ya existente, toca crearla para las que faltan, ya que también hay, dentro de ellas, numeroso contenido que entra en ese concepto. También soy de la opinión de que Wikipedia o Commons no deben dar la impresión de que se da preeminencia a determinadas áreas geográficas a costa de otras. Hay territorios subestatales o localidades que están muy trabajadas en cuanto a la organización de sus contenidos, mientras que otros, incluso con mucho contenido también, están poco menos que medio abandonadas en cuanto al diseño de su estructura de categorías, anárquica o paupérrima en ocasiones. ¿El motivo? lo ignoro. En añadidura, en relación con el ejemplo que ha puesto de las estatuas de San Juan Bautista en Francia por departamento, me gustaría pregutarle si no considera artificiosa o forzada la categoría Statues of Christian saints in the Land of Valencia y que cuelguen de ella 18 subcategorías. Hola, muchas cosas. Empezando por el final, no, no lo considero artificioso: la mayoría tienen una cantidad moderada de fotos y además las que existen se corresponden más o menos con los santos típicos de la zona (por ser oriunndos o tener mas devoción , lo que sea). En cambio si que consideraria innecesario bajar un escalón más, sea provincia, comarca, city, etc. En general es eso, aquí por ejemplo en el nivel autonómico sobra y dividirlo en más capas (statues of saint fulano by province o virgin mary by city, etc) excesivo.

Que determinadas áreas geográficas esten mas trabajadas no va a costa de las demás. Sideterminadas regiones tengan más desarrollada su categorización pues puede que se deba a que haya alguien o algun grupo que se haya dedicado a subir contenido y organizarlo y en otras no, no hay más (algunos trabajan su ciudad, los trenes de su provincia, la flora de su barrio, etc, etc). Seria mi caso con lo que tengo más cerca, pero simepre prefiriendo una categorizació más laxa y flexible; en otros rincones que no controlo me abstengo de crear nada. Por eso no creo que se deba corregir nada con una anivelación des de arriba forzada y no atendiendo las necesidades específicas de cada sitio.

Es la misma idea todo el rato, donde parar de categorizar? En algunas autonomías más grandes no te digo que funcione pero no por eso se ha de extender a todas. En algunas funciona mejor del nivel autonomico hacia abajo y no con categorias laterales que no aportan aportar ni claridad ni orden dispersando el contenido (no sé, por ejemplo en Extremadura con sölo dos provincias se podrían evitar algunas vias de categorizar, pero no me meto). Si hay 45 o 47 provincias (creadas recientemente y contando doblemente con las comunidades que eran una provincia) con x categoría no toca crear nada por seguir la corriente, que exista una determinada división administrativa no obliga a representarla en una categoría, se puede escoger no hacerlo en pro de una mejor accesibilidad, si se pede evitar una categoria mejor. Hello. Not a link, but it is a common practice, common sense. Look for example in the category Category:History of St. Paul's Cathedral, you have categories by years but always together with the category with meaning (there is no overcat). Or even in Trinity Church itself where the category Category:Interior of Trinity Church (Manhattan) (the important category) it goes with the year category together (no overcat again). And do you intend to literally put every last one of the hundreds or thousands of Trinity Church images in the topmost category? Yes why not. It wouldn't be a crime. It would be much better than searching for a photo among 24 (!) categories. There are not thousands of photos of the church, some are already correctly categorized in the interior category or the cemetery category. You could create an exterior category (I'm not a fan either) or even more precise and useful ones, like Trinity Church tower or spire, Trinity Church from Wall Street, etc. The important (descriptive) category and then if you want the year category, but not only that. No, no está claro, solo has expresado tu parecer personal en breves palabras. No tiene sentido que una categoría regional/autonómica acoja el material de varias provincias cuando este es extenso. Si hubiera poco material, me parecería razonable dejarlo solo a nivel regional. Pero tal y como estaba, aparecía abigarrado y sin mucha organización. El nivel de organización básico debe ser el municipio, sobre todo en categorías que tengan un ámbito de actuación municipal. Ya he señalado que la provincia es un nivel básico, que en caso de haber material gráfico de sobra debe considerarse como rango de categoría. Sin embargo, viendo que ya había una categorización previa comarcal (ajena a las cooperativas) que no he considerado debidamente, te ofrezco recuperar su incorporación allá donde estuviera. So yout photos beleng to the category Category:V-1 Launch ramp at Imperial War Museum Duxford I think, and this category is inside Military equipment in the Imperial War Museum Duxford which is inside (a subcategory) of Collections of the Imperial War Museum Duxford wich is a subcategory of the main Category:Imperial War Museum Duxford and so on.
