Collar of Order of the Bath

Hi Heralder, I noticed a small error in the Collar of the Order of the Bath in the achievements for both the Marquess of Carisbrooke and the Marquess of Milford Haven. The Crown in front of the sinister hind-leg is missing, part of it is showing behind the leg, but their seems to be a bit missing between the two links. The dexter site OK.

Mira el blasón: ...de oro cargada de trece veneras azules sobre la orla, y en cada venera un hábito del Señor Santiago... Las cruces de Santiago van cargadas sobre las veneras. Exams done, HRE

There have been continued problems with files created by Katepanomegas. If I recall correctly, the silver crown is his, and the red crown is a derivative of his work? It might be prudent to create our own derivatives. Any other work by Katepanomegas we're using in the series?

I see that Sodacan hasn't been credited properly in each file. We ought to do so, as well as any other files that have been adapted. Ideally we'd use Template:AttribSVG all back to certain source files, e.g. the most complex versions of particular coats of arms.

The crown in File:Middle Coat of Arms of Francis II, Holy Roman Emperor (1804-1806).svg looks amazing, and should certainly be extracted for reuse by others. The sources, however, seem to indicate a form similar to en:Imperial Crowns of Charles VII. Very strange, they seem to have applied the decoration of the Coronation Crown onto the form of the Crowns of Charles VII.

Do we require additional eagle designs for later emperors?

Crown: Yes, the design for the Escorial is still excellent for the Spanish heraldry, and can again be used as a base (as Katepanomegas did IIRC). I did not create an archiducal hat, do you perhaps mean the Ducal or Princely hat? I've recreated both to be purged from Katepanomegas' elements. I also think this middle arch can be reused somewhere: File:Wapen van Amsterdam (Ströhl).svg

In any case, I'll try to sort out all the different depictions of the mitred crown.

Eagle: The design seems to become naturalistic, more plump and less frilly. Concerning the wings, perhaps I could make separate renditions for escutcheon and supporter. I'll have a look at it after I have constructed decent crowns.

Very early wip

Very early wip of the crown, Charles V era, just the basic shape. I've adapted your Spanish design to the French base which I've been using for German heraldry, and have adapted the mitre from Sodacan's Austrian crown. Colour is far from final and details are of course lacking. Most of the images on Commons of the crowns used by Charles V are sadly of low quality, so I'm not sure yet how to continue with details.

For later designs I will reposition the mitre closer to the proportions of the Spanish national arms design and change the middle arch to the one from this file, and add details according to the designs of the time. Lemmens, Tom (talk) 16:28, 2 February 2014 (UTC)

La verdad que la nueva corona te a quedado muy lograda. La única parte que no me quedo del todo contento es con las hojas de la granada que creo que están mejor las del diseño que usa la casa real (más plenitud y una forma a mi juicio esteticamante mejor). En la anterior versión no lo modifiqué porque el diseño estaba muy difundido especialmente el del escudo de Juan Carlos I que incluso había sido utilizado en la cuenta de Twitter de la casa real aunque este al ser algo nuevo creo que si hay diferencias que sea a mejor. El castillo si observas el estandarte que han colocado en la Zarzuela, usa el mismo diseño que nosotros diferente de las otras versiones porque la Real Fábrica de Tapices debió coger como patrón los diseños de Wikipedia (Me baso en el reportaje de Antena 3 Noticias en que aparece con dibujos de aquí) y algo tenía que quedarse.

Respecto al escudo de la princesa de Asturias se supone que mientras no se apruebe nada sigue en vigor esto: [5], ya que no se trata de unas armas personales si no de una dignidad. Hay mucha confusión entre los distintos medios periodísticos en donde en el caso del escudo del rey han atribuido los cambios porque el escudo era personal pero se trata realmente del cambio del escudo de una dignidad, rey de España, aprovechando el cambio de titular del mismo, donde han tratado de corregir cierto compromisos que tenía el escudo asumidos con el régimen que le dio el cargo y por no polemizar han preferido esperar una ocasión oportuna para eliminarlos. Personalmente aunque puedo equivocarme no creo que modifiquen el escudo del heredero más teniendo en cuenta que de facto tardaría mucho en utilizarlo (por su edad) pero de jure de acuerdo a la ley en vigor será el que le corresponda. Aunque sea mujer, si es la heredera de la corona debe tener el mismo escudo que si es varón (o al menos así se han hecho las cosas hasta ahora) aunque en estas cosas (cambios de escudos) ya sabemos que hay gente que vive con esto que tienen más cuento que Calleja. Veremos que pasa. Por ejemplo hay que tener en cuenta que el lambel de azur del escudo del príncipe de Asturias ya fue criticado por quien fuera en España rey de armas, Vicente de Cadenas porque el escudo ya se distinguía del del rey con el timbre y de hecho el lambel se había dejado de utilizar con la llegada de los Borbones al trono, coincidiendo más o menos con el momento en que los timbre empezaron a ser un elemento blasonable, aunque se había puesto a los escudos bastante siglos antes como adorno adicional.

Las infantas no creo que tengan nunca un escudo oficial, otra cosas es que haya uno que de acuerdo a una fuente fiable se las pueda atribuir unas armas pero hay que tener cuidado porque en esto hay de todo pero más malo que bueno. Yo estoy buscando a ver si han publicado ya el BOE (Se supone que el cambio se aprobaría en el consejo de ministros del viernes y sería la primera ley que firmaría el nuevo rey con el cambio de armas y estandarte del rey de España, teóricamente mientras no se publique sigue en vigor el anterior al igual que con el príncipe de Asturias aunque en este caso de facto ya se ha cambiado. Estoy confeccionando un proyecto para sugerirle a la Xunta de Galicia que actualice la Medalla al Mérito de la Protección Civil de la Xunta de Galicia, ya que ésta se encuentra bastante desfasada en cuanto a la normativa reguladora y al diseño.

El texto ya lo tengo prácticamente finalizado, pero la parte más complicada para mí es la del diseño gráfico de las condecoraciones.

¡Llevo meses buscando! Te felicito y me alegro por el hallazgo. Espero que no te importe que haga algunas versiones nuevas, si no has visto la de Sicilia de Felipe V. No son tan buenas porque avanzo poco a poco con el Inkscape. Y también tenía pensado rescatar algunas versiones tuyas que has desechado aunque subieras. Sobre todo las del tipo caballeresco con yelmo. En las páginas 170 y 171 del siguiente artículo se describe el escudo de Isabel Enríquez, que está colocado sobre su tumba y en el convento donde está enterrada.

Venía a comentarle una cosa sobre el escudo que le he pedido de Isabel Enríquez. He descubierto que era idéntico, aunque exactamente a la inversa, del de Sancho de Castilla, que era hijo ilegítimo de Alfonso XI y de Leonor de Guzman, y que usted creó hace ya tres años, en 2011. Le pongo la imagen para que lo vea y así lo único que tendría que hacer es donde está el castillo poner un león, y donde hay leones poner castillos.

Cruces en el escudo del Reino de Galicia

En el SVG del escudo de armas del Reino de Galicia que subiste (1), las cruces del fondo no coinciden con el modelo original, ya que les falta el recrucetado de la parte inferior, tal y como puedes comprobar en estas imágenes: 2, 3. No sé editar los SVG, así que tan sólo puedo dejar el aviso.

A modo de curiosidad, también hay otros lugares donde aparecen recrucetadas, pero sin la punta inferior (4, 5).

Un ejemplo es que con wikipedia y el taller heráldico sin duda se ha beneficiado la serie Isabel: para hacer simplemente el salón del trono del Rey de Francia y del Duque de Borgoña. Poco a poco, ¡exacto! irémos sacando más. Quiero hacer las versiones breves o simples del escudo de las Dos Sicilias, que para eso era un estado semisoberano hispano. Greetings, Heralder. I was not previously familiar with your work—probably because Spain doesn't attract my attention as much as other subjects—but I now see that you are a very prolific heraldic designer, and though my opinion is of little consequence in these things, I think your designs are very good. The project needs people like you.

I do wonder, however, about the situation regarding those British coats of arms, which you have uploaded and the authorship of which you attribute to other editors (both on the file pages themselves and in the page to which I link above). If for some reason you have uploaded someone else's work, then perhaps it is in error that I should address to you any concerns I might have about the images.

You are the uploader, however, so here goes: in the arms of Baroness Manningham-Buller it appears that the blazon for the supporters has been taken from this webpage, but there is a discrepancy between image and description. The blazon has the dexter supporter "gorged with a Ducal Coronet Gules", but in the image the coronet is gold. I don't believe there is any reason for differentiation between the viscount's arms and those of his daughter (certainly not in one supporter alone), so I take it this was an oversight. Red doesn't feel wrong, actually; I'm used to seeing golden coronets with golden chains in royal arms, but the red coronet would fit nicely with the black line, and provide some much-needed contrast with the eagle. Thank you for the correction. It's an easy mistake to make, considering the preponderance of gold coronets in heraldry...

It seems to me that crediting someone else as creator of the images is confusing, both for those who wish to discuss them with some responsible party (as I have now) and for those who consider them as part of the other person's portfolio. Modesty is a virtue, to be sure, but this is not a simple case of cropping a photograph or even cleaning up a scanned 19th-century poster, and it would be both legal and appropriate to say that you have made those images (which are inescapably new works, if not entirely original), while still giving credit for the components you have used. I am not as familiar with licensing as other people, who I am sure would make these points much better than me, but I urge you to consider the matter, or at least discuss it with Sodacan and the other Commoners that you name as creators. Muchas gracias por realizar un escudo colonial de La Antigua Guatemala apegado a la normativa de la época. Y quisiera hacerle una petición más: Ciudad Vieja, el segundo asentamiento de Santiago de los Caballeros de Guatemala, conserva como escudo municipal la misma versión que presenta en el escudo colonial de La Antigua Guatemala, solo que sin el ornamento colonial externo; la cuestión es si puede realizar una versión del escudo de Ciudad Vieja utilizando como modelo el colonial objeto de comentario, y sin el ornamento colonial exterior, salvo que conserve la corona abierta y un poco más pequeña, ya que así la utiliza en la actualidad el Ayuntamiento de Ciudad Vieja, Sacatepéquez, Guatemala. Si en un caso está dispuesto a contribuir con el escudo de Ciudad Vieja actualizado, me gustaría que editara la página de Ciudad Vieja (Guatemala) y le agregara el escudo. Saludos.
