Speedy deletion tags, FOP, and DM[edit]

Hello. I'm currently reviewing copyright violation tags for deletion, and I noticed that you appear to have placed speedy tags on a number of images that you state are derivative works of copyrighted works. These images include File:Defense.gov photo essay 100708-D-7377C-008.jpg, File:The Three Soldiers and Vietnam Veterans Memorial DC 12 2011 000129.JPG, and File:View of the Statue of the Three Servicemen, showing the wall in the distance. - Vietnam Veterans Memorial, West Potomac Park, Washington, District of Columbia, DC HABS DC,WASH,643-5.tif. I'm dropping this courtesy note to let you know that the tags have been procedurally declined; COM:F3 explicitly does does not apply to photographs taken in a public place... [g]iven the complexity of copyright rules like freedom of panorama and de minimis. If you believe that these photographs of public places should be deleted for being derivative works of a particular copyrighted work, you should to open up an ordinary deletion request instead.

Cheers!

I'm unhappy with this decision and reply. The copyright situation of statues in the US is crystal clear and in my book warrants a speedy deletion every time. Running the files through the formal deletion process just occupies more time by more people with absolutely the same result. I will mark these files for the regular deletion process, but in the future I will probably return to speedies when dealing with statues in the US. --h-stt !? 18:41, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
File:Regine Keller 2023-10 5084.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
