Template:Duplicate

Hi,

I'm aware that this template is used for identical images and I always use it for that purpose. However, in the case of the photos of the US National Weather Center in Norman Oklahoma (see below), I made an exception as they are not only of the same objet but from the same angle. Differences are minimal and those three photos are representing essentially the same thing. So there is no need to keep three images that are identical and filling up the memory of Wikipedia for nothing.

Hi, we only deleted duplicate images for clean-up and maintenance reasons. But they are not really deleted, just hidden from view. Since these photos are very different (at leas the colors of 1,2 vs.3; and the angle of 1 vs. 2,3), I would simply not care, if there aren’t other reasons supporting deletion. Sincerely -- RE rillke questions? 23:02, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Grüße --h-stt !? 10:32, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

You caused quite a mess when you deleted this file. Commons:Deletion requests/Image:Reichstagsbrand.jpg is the deletion request you're basing this on. Here there's only talk about pd-old, not the reasoning in the permission field. No clear copyright violation, so no speedy deletion. Could you please clean up the mess? Multichill (talk) 22:13, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Why would I? The Bundesarchiv-License is obviously wrong. It is credited by the Bundesarchiv to ADN, a photo- and news-agency that did not exist at the time the photo was taken and with not a hint of a line of licensing how this GDR-agency could have acquired the rights. All the licenses are faulty or fraudulent, the file needs to be deleted. --h-stt !? 10:15, 18 May 2012 (UTC) PS: Now: Commons talk:Licensing#Licensing problems with ubiquitously used image

Minoan frescos

Hi. I have replied to your message to me on my discussion page.Botteville (talk) 16:40, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

PS I knew it! There is a reason for all this confusion, and I will tell you what it is. There is about a three-day lag in commons work. That is, between the time you enter a change and the time when it shows up to the population at large is about 3 days. When I first noticed it I incorrectly concluded they were not putting my changes in. When I logged in I saw that they were visible in my login's copy. Eventually what is in my or your login gets promulgated generally. Meanwhile, what seems to have happened is that one and the same picture can have different subcategories depending on the category you access it from. What a headache! "The Cows" for example has a different set of subcategories under Minoan and Akrotiri. That can't be. There is only one picture. It has to have the same categories no matter where it is. This has happened because your change has not yet generally been implemented in Commons. The systems people are behind! So, what do we do now. Well, I can't do anything with it until I see how it looks when all the changes have been fully implemented. If feel that if you had seen the effects of your changes on those pictures that you altered, you would have realized you were wrong. The pictures can't go under Akrotiri archaeological site, because I intended that for site pictures only. They go in another subcategory of Akrotiri minoan site; that is, the museum of Thira. We don't need two Akrotiri minoan sites! If everything is to go under Archaeological site of Akrotiri, what was the point of subcategorizing Akrotiri minoan site? I would like to distinguish the site pictures from the frescos, so if you would respect that I would appreciate it.Botteville (talk) 18:03, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
I received your demands that I revert everything I did as well as your accusations. I feel I have been more than polite you you. You are abusing your position as administrator. 1) Stop harassing me 2) resign your position as administrator on the English WP immediately. You will find more on my talk page. No talk is really possible at your level of rudeness. Leave me alone.Botteville (talk) 14:41, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Falscher Name

Da fehlt also ein "r". Wie repariert man sowas? Fingalo (talk) 08:55, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Ich habe es verschoben. Die Rechte dazu habe ich dir praktischer Weise gleich gegeben, du müsstest also ab sofort einige neue "Knöpfe" haben. Grüße --h-stt !? 09:01, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Vielen Dank. Hab' ich. Fingalo (talk) 09:55, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Your violation of my civil rights

Please stop harassing me. Stop attacking me. Commons is not for ad hominem attacks. I have acted in good faith. You continue to attack me. You are violating my civil rights by your vicious attacks. File:Siegfried and roy mirage billboard 1990-05 PICT0011.JPG has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Thanks for these beautiful images and videos. Nice job. --Rotpunkt (talk) 10:07, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi, despite of nickname, I am italian, however I have translated with google ;) I surely will use a lot of these images. --Rotpunkt (talk) 10:43, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
You're welcome. Please ask me for a translation if you need anything in English. rgds --h-stt !? 11:14, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
