Sorry που σου την σπάω, αλλά αυτό δεν είναι υδροστόμιο ή αλλιώς πυροσβεστικός κρουνός (από όπου πέρνουν νερό τα πυροσβεστικά οχήματα). Το όνομά του μου διαφεύγει αυτή την στιγμή αλλά είναι μέρος μόνιμου συστήματος πυρόσβεσης [σε αυτό δίνουν νερό τα πυροσβεστικά στην περίπτωση που δεν έχει νερό το δίκτυο ή δεν λειτουργεί η γεννήτρια/αντλία για να δώσει νερό στα sprinklers (καταιονηστήρες)]. Είναι αντίστοιχο με αυτό. Ξεχωρίζει εύκολα από το γεγονός ότι δεν διαθέτει βάνα (αν έδινε νερό, τότε πως ανοίγει;). Yo man! Τα έχω παίξει κανονικά (14 οκτάωρα σε 7 ημέρες). Πάρε ένα υδροστόμιο, και το Canadair που έπεσε στην Εύβοια φωτογραφημένο από ένα φίλο τον Μάιο. Τα δικά μου Canadair που τράβηξα στην Πάρνηθα το πιθανότερο είναι να είναι Ιταλικά ή ένα Ισπανικό, καθώς εκείνες τις ημέρες δεν έβλεπα ελληνικά. Λάθος μου που δεν το είχα γράψει στην περιγραφή αμέσως, το διόρθωσα τώρα. Επίσης να ξέρεις ότι τα ελικόπτερα δεν ανήκουν στην Πολεμική Αεροπορία αλλά είναι μισθωμένα από ξένες εταιρείες (με ξένους πιλότους). Γυρνάω στο πήξιμο... Geraki 13:30, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

hey, ma, I fixed the description on my images showing your vector ones. I also uploaded another version of gray, because the old one was silver. So, I upload the old gray as silver could you do the same with your vector? Eps to Svg

I too prefer to edit the xml of the svg file, which I refer to as "editing by hand", so I was quite impressed by your Noaa logo. And when I "draw by hand" I am tracing a raster image in Inkscape. I do this by bringing the opacity of the raster to about 20% and tracing over it just like one would trace with pencil and paper. Like this.--Indolences 02:06, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Party logo

Hi, Badseed! I'm a user of the Spanish Wikipedia and unfortunately I don't have an account here in Commons. Sorry if my English is not so good. I'm here because you recently deleted the image PRI party.png with the reason that it was a copyrighted logo. However, it wasn´t. The oficial logo and by such thing the copyrighted one, is this one. It's used in the English Wikipedia due to its fair use politics. If you compare this last logo with the one you deleted, you can see they are not the same. The deleted logo looked like this one. I refer you a google page because only sysops can access to deleted images. The logo that was here in Commons was a logo designed by the Spanish wikipedians in order to represent that political party in such wikipedia. It's not the oficcial logo and you can search it to verify it. It's just a logo designed with the same colors. In Spanish Wikipedia, we are used to design logos with same colors just to represent parties. I could like you to undelete the image, and if there's the possibility, to put it again in all the articles in which it was deleted too. I don't know if I explain myself. However, we are discussing this issue in the Spanish Wikipedia and we are considering someone else to come here and solve the problem. Hello. I'm sorry, but this looked way too much like the original to be considered just a reference picture. Make something simpler maybe, and upload it under the same image name, and i will undo the Delinker's edits at es. wiki about this image so it will appear again. That's my take on it, if you want you can also ask at Commons:Undeletion requests. If the (simpler) image comes back up, 'do' notify me to help with the Delinker reversion, I'll be happy to do that. But, whatever happens, PLEASE make the descriptions of these logos more clear; if they are user-created substitutes and not copyvios, 'please' say so in the image description ("generic" was too cryptic, at least for me). Ok, thanks! Let's do something... Unfortunately, we don't have a backup of the image that was deleted so making a simpler one is little hard. Could you please undelete the image for it to be modified and then uploaded again as a new version? We'll try to make it simpler. However, as you can see it will be too difficult to make it more simpler than it was. The original logo is by itself too simpler. So any reference picture will be too similar. Well, I took the shortcut: created a new logo, uploaded it at the same name and reverted the delinker's edits at es.wiki, so now the logos are back except for locked pages or where "undo" wasn't possible. Αν όντως είσαι ο Τόνυ: λογικά ο διαχειριστής που την έσβησε κράτησε την άλλη επειδή έχει τις περισσότερες χρήσεις. Το καλύτερο που έχει να γίνει για να έχεις όλο το credit ως δημιουργός είναι να ανεβάσεις πάνω από αυτή και να σβήσω την παλιότερη έκδοση του Χριστάρα. Τα αγγλικά είναι καλύτερα διότι εδώ είναι πολύγλωσσο εγχείρημα-και ο Αλανιάρης ανέβασε σχεδόν ολες τις φωτό από τη ΒΠ με αγγλικά ονόματα, και καλά έκανε.

Από τα υπόλοιπα που μου λες για κατηγορίες ξανανεβάσματα κλπ δεν καταλαβαίνω τίποτα, θα έρθω αργότερα στο irc να μου πεις τι εννοείς. Πάντως και να ζητήσεις να διαγραφούν οι εικόνες, δεν γίνεται καθώς ήδη έχουν παραχωρηθεί με ελεύθερη άδεια. Please note that "Fredrik Höglund" is just the photographer/scanner and manager of the website where the digital version of the image was found. Hello Lokal Profil. The OTRS ticket concerns the specific image, that is the photograph by mr. Höglund, and he releases it (the photo) in the public domain. I closed the AFD as "keep" on the grounds that the photo is a faithful reproduction of the original 2-D object. If the original is free to use (according to the template for the swedish COA's, at least half of it) then no-one has the rights to it and it's OK to take a photo and release it in the public domain. Noone can claim rights on a public domain item. If it's not a free image, then every reproduction is a copyvio regardlees if it is a faithful or not-exactly faithful reproduction. On those grounds, the rights on the image are the same be it the jpg or the svg version, either both free or non-free, since it's a 1951 work. Note also that in my opinion there's a problem with the swedish COA's template as commercial use is requiring permission.

Anyway, the jpg isn't used anywhere, if you insist to having it deleted, anyway that wouldn't hurt anything too much I guess. I closed the AFD more on the "don't delete raster versions" grounds than on the copyvio ground. If your opinion about PD-COA' s is different, I would like to hear it, as you seem to have dealt with that sector much more than i Have. Cheers - Badseed ^talk 22:29, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi. Your reply above reflects a normal missconception. Firstly Swedish coat of arms aren't PD in the way that say all German coat of arms are PD. However since coat of arms are defined by their en:blason (which is PD) this means that any free interpretation of the blason creates a free CoA. Obviously it needs to be a interpretation of the blasoning which is independent on any "official" interpretations since it would otherwise be a derivative of those. However since the free interpretation is based on the blasoning it is also subject to {{Insignia}} restrictions. The {{Insignia-Sweden}} template is basically the same as the {{Insignia}} in that it is not a license template and that any restrictions are independent of the copyright status. The only difference is that it links to the specific Swedish law in question. If you have any other querries I'd be happy to help./Lokal_Profil 12:24, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Okay, so interpretations are based on a description that can't be copyrighted as in "a table is an even surface with four legs" and from there on everyone makes his own drawing of a table, In this case the COA would be described as "two arrows pointing upwards below a crossbow" etc. That is understood, so I am going to delete the image as a copy of a copyrighted representation. My only question is: where are the boundaries between a free interpretation and the official interpretation, namely how can the city of Ekshärads restrict the use of gfdl, pd or cc representations of its official seal since the seal description is not copyrighted, or vice versa how can't anybody take a pd or cc representation and use it to pose as the official seal of a town or commune. Sorry for the deleay, been away from the computer for a while. Firstly thanks for removing the image. As far as the restirctions in {{Insignia}} and {{Insignia-Sweden}} I've always seen them as similar to the {{Trademarked}} tag. So the municipality has some control of the usage (mainly that it can not be used in a way which suggest endorsment) of the image even if they don't own the copyright to it, similar to the case of images tagged with {{PD-textlogo}}. Also not copyrighted by the companies but they still have some say in how it can be used. Also since the blasoning is registered it prevents someone else (municipality/person/company) from having the same blasoning as their own CoA. Hello, Badeed. Long time no talk. Definitely I can't use Gimpe or Inkscape. They are too much for my little brain. But if you could at leat tell me what tools I use to re-shape and save some images from PNG to SVG. I have tons of Icons that would be great to Wikimedia, and I'd like to work them to use here. Το υπόλοιπο κείμενο δεν νομίζω ότι χρειάζεται προσθήκη, εφόσον πρόκειται για δημόσια πρόσωπα και που δεν βρίσκονται σε προσωπικές στιγμές, εκτός αν έγινες παπαράτσι. Hey Thank u for ur answer, yes but the question is, i cant use the englisch image on the france and spain wikipedia sites "iaks", so i uploadet it at commons. I just dont wanted to upload it on both sites again. Thought that commons, would be my site ... so it was described on the german description for wiki.commons . It is just easier, cause the copyrights in Spain and france wiki are a littlebit different to the german and englisch ones. So would be fine if i can upload it an commons.

Hi, I saw that you deleted this picture and "St_Michael_and_Gudula_history_2.JPG" as well, because of the restrictions on "derivative work". Well, I'm not aware of any copyrights on these photos, which are mounted in a public place, but I understand your caution. My question would be: it is OK put up pictures which illustrate the whole side-chapel of this church where the photos are mounted? therefore no single picture would be the main subject. This kind of screenshot could be uploaded only on it.wiki, with it:Template:Screenshot film copyright tag (see the notice: they must not be uploaded here on Commons). Si bien se que estos logos son de propiedad de la EBU, fueron realizados a través de otros programas (como los que se usan en la elaboración de escudos de armas). Como debo suponer que eres de habla inglesa, te explicaré que la plataforma en español de Wikipedia no acepta el uso de logos con propósito educativo o en instrucción, cosa que sí hacen las demás Wikipedias. Polonia/Szombierki doesn't exist anymore. It was divided into two teams ten years ago and I asked personally the marketing director of Polonia who owns it. He told me that no one had copyright so i could use it. Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Monette Radio

is not a Telefunken radio. There is probably a 'Bauerlaubnis Telefunken sticker on the device, which says, that Telefunken Patents were used. The device itself was manufactured by german Monette, a short form for Mock & Nettelbeck in the mid tewnties. The type seems to be a Monette V, which is a short wave receiver. (see [5])

deletes picture

Hi Badseed, Thank you for deleting my pictures after my request in July 2009 (my request). Meanwhile I am very active on commons and wikipedia under a new username. Now my problem is to remove the thumbnails of theses pictures from google-picture-search. I tried without success already to handle googles crawlers ([6] - the robot answers after some days: "done", but the thumbnails are still there). My last hope is to load a legal pictur under the same name into Commons, to override googles old thumbnail (espacially one, where a whole face of a patient is visible). But Commons blocks the upload of a picture with the same name: Therefor I loaded the picture under a different name (File:Augenarzt Operation 90e Augenverband.jpg). My hope is, that you can move the picture to the File-name File:Augenarzt Operation 9e Augenverband.jpg. Angelos Giallinas watercolors

I have not used this feature of wikipedia before, so hope my request is not inappropriate here...

I just returned from a cruise in the Mediterranean. We spent a day on Corfu, where --while strolling through the historic Old Fort-- we saw a small exhibition of watercolor paintings by Angelos Giallinas. I fell in love immediately and told my friend that I would definately buy a print of any one of them, if they were available in the museum gift shop. Alas, none were available, nor was any info as to where to find his work.

The images stores here on wikipedia are the largest selection I've found on-line so far. I would be so grateful if you could suggest some sites/art dealers/etc where I might find prints of his work.

Yes, of course I agree! Since Fastily, who deleted the images on en, isn't active there any more, we have to notify the admins there. If I get the procedure right, it has to go through Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion, or their AN. I can do it tomorrow, unless you want to do it or know a faster way :), and then let's bring the images over when they are undeleted. The two images, this and the now deleted File:Dornstätter Neuötting.jpg from Commons:Deletion requests/File:Dornstätter Neuötting.jpg were so much alike, in that the subject, the background and the angle is exactly the same, (for a fur jacket in some store in 1982? telepathy!), that I thought that you had done colour correction on Jurgen's photo (I also thought of congratulating you on that, haha). Hello Trijnstel, and thanks for the notification. I was hoping to get someone with a bot to put the OTRS template, if that's OK, as well as categories etc, because these images from the ticket are over 400! So for the moment, I'm just dashing to undelete and I was hoping to get through this with as few edits as possible. As for helping with the OTRS: I used to be an OTRS volunteer, but I lost access due to inactivity (I got this ticket number through an exchange with Asav). I don't think I can manage to find time to help with OTRS in the near future, but if things change, I might reconsider. Hello, regarding this deletion request: The user Vfranquesa said it was a mistake but they re-uploaded the files afterwards with attribution to the photographers. However, i still think there's a licencing problem there. They're photos of a theatrical (or opera) performance, so wouldn't it be neccessary to have 1. the confirmation of the copyright holders for the performance, 2. that of the photographer to release them under a free licence?
