Well, no file by that name has ever existed on Commons, you haven't provided a reason for the undeletion request, and you forgot to sign your entry. But after digging through the history of this page to identify who created this section, I see that you have uploaded File:Eric Millegan headshot 2015.JPG and posted this help desk question before changing your mind and removing the question again.
Wikimedia Commons (this site) is a repository of free, educational media files used by Wikipedia, other Wikimedia projects, and others. The free part is very important – it's a founding principle of Commons that we should only host content that can be used, modified and redistributed by anyone for any purpose, including commercial purposes. Therefore, Commons only hosts copyrighted content if the copyright holder has explicitly agreed to publish the content under a free license. File:Eric Millegan headshot 2015.JPG was deleted because there was no sign that the copyright holder had approved publication under a free license.
Based on your description in the help desk question, it sounds like File:Eric Millegan headshot 2015.JPG was a photo of you – presumably taken by someone else. Normally, the person who creates a photo is the copyright holder and therefore the only one who can issue a valid license. I am writing the profile for Paul Eachus who is an international artist (please see his website: http://www.pauleachus.com/ ). I would like to include this image as an example of his drawing work. I am in fact his wife and have total permission to distribute and promote his work and if you need me to provide any proof please let me know how I can do it.

I have tried to upload this image a few times and it was rejected as copy right violation. As I am doing this for the first time and also very unfamiliar to the system I thought I may have done this incorrectly so I tried to upload the image a few times in a different way. The original Photo is a large scale photo and the jpeg image is only a documentation of the original image.

This request has been sitting around for nearly a month now. Pinging the six admins that we have that are native Portuguese speakers (Beria, Dantadd, DarwIn, Érico Júnior Wouters, Teles and Waldir).
If I understand the request correctly, the uploader claims that the coat of arms in question "is for public use and has no known copyright", but this claim seems to be unsubstantiated. It is possible that {{PD-BrazilGov}} applies, but it would need to be demonstrated that the coat of arms was first published prior to 1983. —LX (talk, contribs) 15:10, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

The file named File:黃延禎.jpg is a photo of a statue of a General that is publicly displaying in a military school in China to commemorate the General. Although not knowing who the sculpturer is, which I can find out later, I actually got the photo from the descendant of the General. Therefore, although I might not have the license option chosen correctly when submitting the photo, I believe the photo should be able to be used here without violated any copy rights. What do you think?

  • Owning the photo is completely beside the point: ownership of intellectual property rights is generally separate from ownership of physical objects.
  • Being a descendant of the General is irrelevant: intellectual property rights would belong to the sculptor and his/her heirs, not the subject of the sculpture.
  • There are to sets of rights we need to clear up here: the rights to the photo and the rights to the sculpture. - Jmabel ! talk 22:14, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

    • Okay, so if I understand correctly the uploader is mainly pissed because his upload is blurred and that the original version is deleted. However, deleting own uploads after the file is kept, is misuse of the admin tools. I do understand however, that it can be very frustrating if an upload is blurred and I do understand that people can do something they shouldn't have done in the heat of the moment. As a general rule I think we should be foregiving if people do something they shouldn't have done in anger. Can happen to the best of us. On they other hand, this all happened months ago so there is no excuse to use personal attacks and dodging the discussion at the current time. I understand that my first comment may sound a bit harsh but this is serious offense. I don't think that a block is needed (and yes I do believe that the blocks of Tuvalkin where unfair; especially the first one but that is another discussion). Leaving Ludo's talk page alone for the rest of the day may be more productive. French is not my native language and I always failed my French lessons but this is pretty much a huge nogo in every language and if it means what I think it means it is not really nice and than this is something that should be addressed.
  • On they other hand, is the blurred version this valuable that we should keep it against the author's wishes? It creates drama, anger blood and we have plenty of replacements plus we already have enough drama. It is not unheard of to do a courtesy deletion in cases like this. There is a strong reason why I do believe that we should undelete this file. Keeping it deleted creates a bad precedence. I suggest we give @Ludo29: some time to reflect his own actions. It was apparently deleted because someone found the file on a holiday accommodation website - http://vacances.seloger.com/provence-alpes-cote-d-azur/luceram/gite-des-remparts-9309268 . It should be obvious that the creator of the advert website has taken the picture from here, not vice versa, without attribution. I am certain that I gave full attribution when I uploade the file.

File:Fort de Valros.jpg Likewise, deleted without my knowledge. I am the creator of the file. It was uploaded at the same time as actual photograhs of the Fort de Valros when I created that Wikipedia article. It was deleted because "the file is claimed as own work by a user who has uploaded at least one other technical diagram" which actually means nothing to me. It's my own work.

The one remaining is Commons:Deletion requests/File:Michael Myers (judge).jpg? If I (re-)read that DR, it was about a photo on page 176 of this book, photo by Stanley Polkinghorne Andrew (c.1879-1964). It seems the consensus was that the photo would become public domain in New Zealand on 1 January, 2015, 50 years after the author's death. Now, this leaves the question of the copyright in the United States. We don't have the date of first publication of the photo. But the subject of the photo (1873-1950) looks about 55-65 years old on the photo [3], which would date the creation of the photo circa 1930. (Also, compare to this other photo, dated 1929.) If so, it would be Not-PD-US-URAA. The DR discussion was in 2010, probably during one of the periods when Commons was freezing the deletions of the Not-PD-URAA files. That may be the reason why, back then, this DR was categorized in the category "Undelete in 2015", as if there was no URAA. I'm not sure what is done with the URAA-related files today. However, note that the other photo, File:Michael Myers, New Zealand.jpg, is also by the same photographer, Stanley P. Andrew [4], and thus it would be Not-PD-US-URAA. So, for consistency, the two files should be treated the same way. Either undeleting File:Michael Myers (judge).jpg or deleting File:Michael Myers, New Zealand.jpg. -- Asclepias (talk) 20:11, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

The Person who took the picture is fully aware of pictures getting uploaded in wikipedia page. The pictures were taken by the Island6 employee and were uploaded into their Tumblr Account. And the person who is in charge of their tumblr account is one person who took the pictures. http://island6artscenter.tumblr.com/ I put it in Wikipedia after asking their permission. But that's matter for freedom of panorama, here we have spiral stairs, which are not invention of author. I think this specific bird view isn't copyvio. Soy una persona que sigue sus pinturas desde hace años y me ofrecí a hacerle un articulo en wikipedia, ya que no habia visto que tuviera. No sabia bien como iba lo de las licencias, y ayer hablando con el he encontrado como hacerlo, poniendo una licencia creative commons reconocimiento internacional 4.0. I am in possession of my father's photo collection, and have his implicit (now posthumous) permission to make any of his personal photographs part of the public domain. This process should not be so complex- this photograph is NOT from the Internet, it is NOT copywrited by anyone, it is a PERSONAL photo of a person which I tried to add to the article about this person on Wikipedia. This person was a personal friend of my family, and was at our house many times in the 1950's and 60's, and was photographed there by my father. Permission would need to be sent using the procedure at COM:OTRS. Note that permission must be for everyone and everywhere, not just Wiki articles. If they are not comfortable with that (which would be understandable), then the logo must be uploaded to each Wikipedia directly under a fair use rationale, if the project allows such files (the English Wikipedia does). Hallo, die beiden Bilder File:EnthusiastiCon19.jpg und File:EnthusiastiCon21.jpg sind im Rahmen der Wikimeida Deutschland-Veranstaltung EnthusiastiCon am 20. Juni 2015 entstanden. Urheber dieser Bilder ist Jason Krüger, der von Wkimedia Deutschland beauftragt wurde, zu fotografieren. Bestandteil des Vertrages ist auch, dass die von ihm aufgenommenen Bilder unter freier Lizenz veröffentlich werden dürfen. Die bei Wikimedia Deutschland als Werkstudierende arbeitende Julia Schütze (Benutzerin:Julia Schütze (WMDE)) hat die beiden Bilder auf Commons geladen.
