Important message for file movers

A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.

Possible acceptable uses of this ability:

• To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
• To perform file name swaps.
• When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)

Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.

The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. Another remark: When you do a lot of editing like this (adding in a template and en passant updating of licenses) it can happen, that you look on the preview and do not see the error that is there, though. I've nominated File:Ph Ernst (8).JPG to be moved to de.wikipedia.org instead, because of the URAA, a stupid copyright treaty that makes some works copyrighted longer in the U.S. than in their original countries. de.wp follows German copyright law, so the file should be safe there. CommonsDelinker

Hallo Steffen, die Logs zeigen sehr viele (vermutlich automatisierte) Zugriffsversuche deinerseits auf User:CommonsDelinker/commands/filemovers. Das wird nicht funktionieren, weil nur Sysops und Filemover dort eine Schreibberechtigung haben. Gruß, --Achim (talk) 21:30, 25 June 2016 (UTC)

Danke, Achim, für die Info, aber: Ich nutze das Skript JustReplace, das den CommonsDelinker aufruft – und das hat bisher immer funktioniert, ohne dass ich die Dateiverschieberrechte besessen habe (es wird ja damit keine Datei umbenannt). Deswegen habe ich auch gedacht, der CommonsDelinker würde hängen und habe das Skript nach einiger Zeit abgebrochen (Seite neu geladen, geht nur so) und später noch einmal gestartet. — Speravir_Talk – 22:24, 25 June 2016 (UTC)

Hallo Speravir, hier bin ich wieder :-) - Ein Beispiel würde den Entwicklern sehr helfen: Könntest du mir einen Link zu einer von dir gemachten Benachrichtigung geben, wo du dachtest, hier hätte eigentlich eine Bestätigungs-Benachrichtigung kommen müssen, die dann nicht erfolgt ist? OK, da wären kürzlich folgende: Ping an André Klapper in Commons:Village pump#Problems with Safari; in Commons:Help desk#Tortendiagramm mit Verlinkung von [[User:Jmabel|Jmabel]]; letztere Version auch in Commons:Forum#Lizenz für c:File:Johann-Reichhart.jpg (User Blechmodelle). Eine der beiden Benachrichtungen – erfolgreich oder nicht erfolgreich – hätte da anspringen müssen. In schon archivierten Abschnitten sollten sich noch mehr finden. Meine Signatur sieht man jetzt auch hier. Sie wird über meine common.js eingefügt. Aber auch in de.wiki habe ich sie verändert (nicht identisch!), aber dort funktionieren die Infos. Dort sieht die Signatur so aus: —&nbsp;~~~&nbsp;<span style="font-size:80%;color:#555;">–&nbsp;~~~~~</span>.

Ich hatte übrigens schon überlegt, sie in Commons etwas zu kürzen, lasse es jetzt aber zunächst sein. Das hier funktioniert aber nicht wie gedacht: —&nbsp;[[User:Speravir|Speravir]]_[[User talk:Speravir|<span class="signature-talk" style="font:italic 65% inherit">{{ucfirst:{{int:Talkpagelinktext}}}}</span>]]&nbsp;<span style="font:80% inherit;color:#555">–&nbsp;~~~~~</span>. Jepp. Aber da muss ich mir noch was mit der Signatur überlegen. Der Hintergrund ist, dass hier standardmäßig der Link zur Diskussionsseite per Vorlage {{int:Talkpagelinktext}} übersetzt wird (siehe Deine eigene Signatur), wenn ich aber daran etwas ändere, dann diese Vorlage plötzlich nicht mehr in der Einstellungszeile stehen darf. Man hat wohl bei der sinnvollen Idee, Exzesse bei der Vorlageneinbindung zu vermeiden, vergessen, dieses eine als Ausnahem zu definieren. I created the Category:Files from Pixabay to categorize Category:Unreviewed files from Pixabay; I recategorized it into Category:Pixabay, and tagged Category:Files from Pixabay for speedy as redundant.

And about the Unreviewed files from Pixabay, see my proposal at the Pixabay's Talk page and the Sandbox. If this is implemented, the {{License review}} should be removed from every file, since it integrated into my proposed {{Pixabay}}. Renaming a file

A while ago I asked to rename a file "File:Prinz Ruprecht von der Pfalz , Prince Rupert of the Rhine - The so-called Little Executioner - Google Art Project.jpg" to File:The Great Executioner (Detail) The so-called Little Executioner, Mezzotint by Prince Rupert of the Rhine Google Art Project.jpg; you rejected this proposal. There were several reasons for my request: first (Rationale 3) Prince Rupert is not the subject (the executioner); he is the artist, so its not "of" its "by". Second (rationale 4) the picture is out of sequence and removed from the main picture. I think I poorly used rationale 2 (cos I was new) at the time. You misunderstand something, I think. Everyone is free to give a filename on preference, as long as there is none of the issues present, which are addressed in Commons:File renaming#Which files should be renamed?. Because you refer yourself to this page: In my eyes none of these issues is valid here (OK, perhaps one, see below), instead you should read Commons:File renaming#Which files should not be renamed?: “Files should NOT be renamed only because the new name looks a bit better.”

• The uploader decided in giving the artist’s name first, which is quite common, and to give it in both the German version and the English equivalent, a bit uncommon, but no error.
• He gave the work’s name and the project, where the file came from. Both is fine, no error, if a work of this name exists.
• It seems, it is actually a crop from another file. If this is true, it should better have been added to the name, but could now also be addressed on the description page.

Yes, rationale 2 of Commons:File renaming was obviously the wrong reason, but also rationale 3 is not valid, if the work is named correctly. Rationale 4 should be fine, if you’d point to the other works, which are in your opinion part of a series, but then all these files should bear a similar name only differing in a part! Add enough information to your request, also when you think of wrong work naming.

Hi Speravir, I'd imagine Jcb is getting fed up with notifications so I'll quickly ask here :),
First off my apologies - I've never scrolled down the Pixabay template so in some respects it's my fault for not looking,
Anyway so for videos if I always use {{pixabay|123|vid}} or {{Pixabay |1= 123|2= vid|status= |reviewer= |date= }} then there should be no issues with the ID giving the wrong file?,

Yes, exactly. But you can leave out the empty parameters. Reviewers are recommended to use aanother method, cf. top of Category:Unreviewed files from Pixabay. On substitution the params are added with appropriate values. — Speravir – 19:28, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

"Adaptation to namimg scheme"

No, I can’t. I was only relating to other daughter, sister and mother categories in category Sanssouci, and I know, that not all of them follow this pattern. (And it was originally Category:Sculptures of Neues Palais Potsdam.). — Speravir – 15:34, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

Mairie du 4ème arrondissement de Paris

Paris possède un Hôtel de Ville (Hôtel de ville de Paris), où se trouvent les élus et toute l'administration de la ville, et est divisé en 20 arrondissements, avec chacun une mairie d'arrondissement (Catégorie:Mairie d'arrondissement à Paris). C'est clairement indiqué sur le fronton : MAIRIE DU IVME ARRONDISSEMENT. L'appellation Hôtel ville 4e arrondissement Paris est donc une erreur évidente, correspondant à un nom propre incorrect et à un organisme mal identifié, comme indiqué dans la condition n°3 pour le renommage.

Comme de plus l'Hôtel de Ville de Paris se trouve dans le 4ème arrondissement, cette légende pourrait faire croire qu'il s'agit de l'Hôtel de Ville de Paris. Le renommage est donc absolument indispensable.

Je viens de regarder toutes les photos comprises dans Category:Town halls in Paris. Heureusement, presque toutes les photos sont bien légendées et décrites comme mairies. Il y a quelques exceptions, dans les 1er et 12ème arrondissements, avec Hotel de Ville en légende et en description. J'ai fait les modifications nécessaires, et les mêmes propositions de renommage. Merci de les confirmer au plus vite.

Rigoureux, I do not speak any French, so I do not know, what you wanted to tell me. Therefore here my reason to decline: You’ve requested renaming of File:Hôtel ville 4e arrondissement Paris 8.jpg. The number 8 let me hesitate, and I’ve looked into Category:Town hall of Paris 4e arrondissement, where this image is included – and I found 7 other files with (almost) the same name, which lead me to decline with part of an image set. Also, as far as I know, the translation of hôtel de ville is town hall, so the filename perfectly suited to the category name. Remember, it is not a file renaming reason to get a nicer filename. I should have checked the meaning of mairie, though. In future, when you find a set of images, which is wrong in your eyes, then request it better in Commons:Village pump (English) or Commons:Bistro (French). I noted, that French user Sémhur meanwhile performed the renaming of the whole image set. — Speravir – 18:55, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

Rigoureux explained the fact, but in French, so I translate: there is only one "main" town hall in Paris (the Hôtel de Ville), but each arrondissement (district) of the town have its own town hall (the Mairie). I guess we can translate it by "District hall", but it doesn't exists in English. It's why Rigoureux asked for renaming, and why I've done it. Sémhur (talk) 19:10, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

• For matters of Wikimedia Commons it is not of interest, whether you physically own the photograph. The copyright belongs to the photographer, and we can keep only copyright free images or images with a permission explicitly given by the copyright holder.

@Nightflyer: O Mann, auf die Idee von De728631, den Rotatebot die Arbeit erledigen zu lassen, hätten wir aber auch kommen können … Die Originaldatei enthält in den Exif-Daten den Wert Orientation: Horizontal (normal) zusätzlich zu den Angaben Image Width: 2347 und Image Height: 3568. Was anderes: In deiner oben verlinkten Anfrage an die Entwickler hab ich die Bilder File:Hellemani torn 2011 (1).jpg und File:Hellemani torn 2011 (2).jpg gefunden. Nach download hab ich die Bilder mit Irfanview geöffnet, dann mit JPG Verlustfreie Rotation um 90 Grad rotiert und gespeichert. Danach neu geöffnet und um 270 Grad rotiert, gespeichert und neu hochgeladen. Beide Fotos sind jetzt sauber. Vielleicht hift es den Entwicklern. Genau das wollte ich mit dem Rostockstein auch gerade machen, also künstlich hin- und herdrehen. Aber JPEG Lossless Rotator gibt dann eine Warnung aus, dass man dieses Bild gar nicht verlustfrei drehen könne, sondern 15 px abgeschnitten werden würden. Nein, nein, JPegs haben ein internes Format von irgendeiner Blockgösse zur Komprimierung. Wenn das nicht verlustfrei gedreht werden kann, werden die überzähligen Pixel verworfen oder es wird nicht gedreht. Deshalb bei Irfanview: Verlustfreie Rotation. @Nightflyer and Speravir: Es gibt dazu jetzt Neuigkeiten am "Dorfbrunnen": offenbar haben diese und auch andere Dateien interne Thumbnails, die anders orientiert sind, als das eigentliche Bild. D. h., wenn die Mediawiki-Software ein kleines Vorschaubild erzeugt, wird das dann je nach Größe von dem in der Datei eingebauten Minibild überlagert. Es nützt also anscheinend auch nichts, an den Datein herumzudoktorn, solange man nicht die codierten Thumbnails herausoperieren kann. De728631 (talk) 20:00, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

Ich hatte im Bearbeitungskommentar auf COM:OVERCAT hingewiesen. Gemeint war hier: Ich habe bei den derzeit vier Bildern in Category:Michael Post die Kategorie Object artists from Germany entfernt, weil ihre Mutterkategorie selbst darin kategorisiert ist, und die Kategorie Artists, weil sie eine Überkategorie ist sowohl zu Object artists from Germany als auch Male painters from Germany, der anderen Mutterkategorie für Michael Post. Im übrigen ist Artists viel zu allgemein für einzelne Bilder und selbst einen Künstler. Dieses System der Kategorisierung vom Speziellen zum Allgemeinen (oder umgekehrt, je nach Ausgangspunkt) ist nichts Besonderes für Commons, sondern wird auch in der deutschen Wikipedia so gehandhabt, dort sogar viel stringenter. Die Kategorien sind damit nicht „weg“. Wenn du meinst, dass Michael Post ein Vertreter der Konkreten Kunst ist, dann füge seine Kat. in die Kategorie Concrete art ein; ich habe dahingehend nichts verändert. Zur Suche: Wenn ich "michael post" suche, finde ich ihn und seine Bilder ziemlich schnell (bei mehr Bildern müsste man die Suche noch einschränken). Du könntest die Suchtrefferwahrscheinlichkeit für „object artist“ (und concrete artist oder wie es im Englischen heißt) noch erhöhen, wenn Du eine kurze Beschreibung wenigstens in Englisch in Michael Post ergänzt. — Speravir – 01:46, 21 October 2017 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Die englische Version muss direkt hinter dem de-Baustein in einen eigenen Baustein mit geschweiften Klammern eingesetzt werden: {{en|1=An Artwork by Michael Post, catalogue raisonné 2-16-487}}. Und so kompliziert ist das mit den Kategorien eigentlich auch nicht. Man muss lediglich darauf achten, dass die Datei immer auf der jeweils tiefsten Ebene in dem Kategoriebaum einsortiert wird. Also nicht ganz oben bei "Artists", wo die Sortierung gerade erst anfängt, sondern möglichst nach Herkunftsland, Stilrichtung usw. kategorisieren. Die Kategorie "Michael Post" hat das alles schon erledigt, also braucht man für alle Einträge, die direkt in dieser Kategorie liegen, und für alle tieferen Ebenen nicht noch mal die Kategorisierung von weiter oben in der Hierarchie wiederholen. Wenn ich’s selber besser wüsste, Lewenstein, hätte ich das selbst durchgeführt. Mir geht es vor allem darum, dass man (insbesondere bei der Audiodatei wichtig) darauf hinweisen sollte, dass es sich um kein echtes Cembalo handelt (bei der Pianoversion schön, aber vielleicht nicht ganz so wichtig; ebenso bei Schubert). Depends on what you count as my own decision, Olivier. It already has been stated in the documentation of template {{Published}} that it belongs on the talk page, and I concur with this. I yesterday made some changes to the template and so I also added an error message if it is used on the file description page, but it still can be used on user pages (I know at least one who seems to prefer collecting the publication of his files in his space). At Commons:Village pump#Moving files to wikipedia, I presume you are agreeing with me, rather than disagreeing, but given the wording I'm not sure. I told the user that that can't be done with a tool, and that he needs to download to his computer and upload manually. You then said, "No, it’s not possible." I presume that was a grammatically non-parallel answer to his original question as to whether anyone knows a tool to do this, rather than a statement that the manual approach I suggested is not possible. Umbenennung

Hallo Speravir, Du wirst Dich erinnern: Klinik Augustinum. Hilfsbereite haben das Problem, dass man sich wieder an sie wendet. Aber es ist sicher auf lange Sicht nur noch ein Mal. Ich habe vor längerer Zeit den Wikipedia-Artikel Ökumenisches Kirchenzentrum Parkstadt Solln, so die offizielle Bezeichnung, angelegt. Meines Erachtens wäre es sinnvoll, die Benennung der zuvor von jemand angelegten Commons-Kategorie Kirchen- und Gemeindezentrum Parkstadt Solln (München) anzupassen. If I remember correctly, when I created the article, I asked an admin if the addition "(Munich)" was desirable, but he said that Solln existed only once, and therefore not. I saw the monument number was not changed yet, so maybe that's the reason you declined it? I'm dutch, so for me it's a piece of cake to see if a request is ok or not, in my own language. Nachdem gestern nur noch etwa 15000 Seiten betroffen waren (also etwa 2000 in zwei Tagen aktualisiert waren), ist jetzt alles durchgelaufen, und es wird nun keine Seite mehr ohne wirkliche Vorlageneinbindung mehr gefunden. Ich sehe aber auch, dass das Replag, das zwischendurch, als ich mal nachsah, auf über 55 Stunden gestiegen war, nun bei 47 Sekunden liegt. Siehe Regeln zur Dateiumbenennung, Abschnitt Welche Dateien sollten nicht umbenannt werden? „Dateien sollten nicht deshalb umbenannt werden, weil der neue Name nur ein bisschen besser aussieht.“ Du hast die Datei richtigerweise in die Kat. Sony remote control units einsortiert, was völlig ausreichend ist. Du hättest noch das tun können, was ich eben getan habe: den Schriftzug SONY in die Beschreibungen einzutragen (was zugegebenermaßen nicht immer so einfach ist).

Kategorisieren kann jeder und es hat keine Auswirkungen außerhalb von Commons. Und es ist auch nur ein Edit, man kann auch mehrere Kategorisierungen für eine Datei in einer einzigen Bearbeitung durchführen. Beim Umbenennen passieren hinter den Kulissen ein paar Dinge mehr, insbesondere wenn eine Datei in Benutzung ist. Hi Speravir - I happened to see you recently declined a move request by @Esculapio: for File:Molossusrufus.jpg on the grounds that the file was in extensive use on various wiki articles as Molossus rufus. Just to let you know that I checked the identity of the bat and concur with @Felineora: 's original re-identification as a Carollia bat, so removed the file from all the articles where it had been misplaced, and have now renamed the file as File:Bats of the genus Carollia in Belize.jpg (from the file description; not exactly the same as Esculapio requested), and also renamed its derivative file to File:Bat of the genus Carollia in Belize.jpg. ein Bisschen aus der Hifi-Ecke kommend, habe ich heute [4] EMT (Elektromesstechnik Wilhelm Franz) in der Wikipedia gelesen und einen Commons-Link eingefügt. Soweit so gut. Die (ehemals deutsche) Firma EMT findet man bei Commons unter Category:Elektro-Mess-Technik: da kommt doch kein Mensch drauf, finde ich. Nach Lesen des Kapitels Kat-Änderung würde ich einen Zwischenlink bestehen lassen und das Ding wenigstens Elektro-Mess-Technik Wilhelm Franz, lieber noch ohne Bindestriche, nennen. Ich habe noch keine Cat umbenannt, und die Verantwortung läge bei mir, deswegen möchte ich lieber nachfragen.

Ist meine Denke hierzu ok, oder weißt Du was Besseres? Bitte Rückmeldung, vielen Dank. Grüße, --Wikisympathisant (talk) 19:11, 14 June 2020 (UTC)

Deshalb ist keine Verschieben notwendig:

1. Du hast doch heute in den Artikel (Interwiki-Verlinkung de:Elektromesstechnik Wilhelm Franz; vgl. de:Hilfe:Interwiki-Links) die Kategorie eingefügt (ich hab sie noch an den Anfang des Abschnitts verschoben). Man kann sie damit gut finden. Interessanterweise ist das Firmenlogo bisher gar nicht in die Kat. einsortiert.
2. Diese Suche in Commons findet ebenfalls die richtige Kategorie: category: elektromesstechnik franz.

Was man aber machen kann, ist eine Kategorieweiterleitung anzulegen; wenn also Category:Elektromesstechnik Franz aufgerufen wird, erfolgt die Weiterleitung zu Category:Elektro-Mess-Technik. Ich überlass das mal dir: Rufe die leere Kat.-Seite, den Rotlink, auf, füge dort die Vorlage {{Category redirect}} (oder eine ihrer Abkürzungen) richtig ausgefüllt ein (Parameter 1 für die Zielkat.) und speichere ab. Teste dann noch einmal von hier aus. Cat-a-Lot und Hotcat erkennen solche Weiterleitungen übrigens. — Speravir – 21:55, 14 June 2020 (UTC)

Allerdings heißt die Firma ja jetzt EMT Studiotechnik. Dann sollte eine Kategorie unter diesem Namen angelegt und alles dorthin verschoben werden. Man kann auch Kategorien verschieben wie Seiten (dabei wird die oben genannte Vorlage eingefügt), aber die enthaltenen Subkategorien und Inhalte werden nicht mitverschoben; das muss/kann man dann mit Cat-a-Lot erledigen. Erstmal ganz herzlichen Dank für die Reparatur samt dem schellen feedback und Wikidata. Das mit der Kategorie hatte ich ja gesehen, nur die Reparatur überstieg bie eben meine Kenntnisse.

Ist Cat-a-lot nicht die Verschiebefunktion, den Punkt verstehe ich noch nicht. Ich hatte übigens auch die Cat-a -lot-Hilfe gelesen, aber mir hatte sie leider nicht geholfen :-(.

Die Verschiebefunktion versteckt sich in der Standardoberfläche Vector rechts oben unter dem „Mehr“-Popupmenü, bei anderen anderen weiß ich es nicht, aber bei Monobook sollte es links in de Seitenleiste zu finden sein. Cat-a-Lot ist sozusagen nur ein Tool, das das Umkategorisieren massiv erleichtert, etwas, was man mit viel mehr Aufwand auch völlig ohne dieses Tool machen könnte. Die Kategorieseiten sind völlig normale Wikiseiten im Category-Namensraum; du hättest mit der Verschiebefunktion Category:Elektro-Mess-Technik nach Category:EMT Studiotechnik verschoben, die dabei neu angelegt worden wäre. Die Dateien (und potentiell, wenn auch hier nicht, Subkategorien und andere Seiten, z.B. Vorlagen) wären dabei aber nicht mitverschoben worden – da wäre dann Cat-a-Lot ins Spiel gekommen. — Speravir – 22:17, 15 June 2020 (UTC)

Es gab beides und die Unifraktur hat nun mal den geraden Doppelbindestrich, was für jemanden, der das nicht kennt, eine gewisse Verwechslungsgefahr darstellt. Ich habe übrigens gestern noch sowohl in Fraktur (Schrift) als auch Fraktursatz kurz etwas geschrieben. Danke, ich habe übrigens den Tekst aus der dt. Wikipedia ins Polnische übersetzt und als Hilfe für die polnischen Wikisource-User veröffentlicht. Es ist für uns ein Problem – wir sind eine kleine Gruppe und kaum jemand kann die Schrift lesen (im Polnischen wurde die Fraktur seit Jahrhunderten nicht verwendet). Ich habe den Abhandlung durch Paar Hinweise zum Sperrsatz ergänzt. Mal sehen, vielleicht werde ich noch 'was dazu auf der dt. Wikipedia schreiben. Ich sehe gerade, dass da schon etwas steht. Beim Korrekturlesen (BTW vielleicht hast du Lust uns zu helfen und ein Paar Seiten (5–6) auf Deutsch zu korrigieren?) ist mir aufgefallen, dass der dt. Setzer Probleme hatte mit den polnischen Namen mit der Endung ‑ski. Da s am Anfang der Silbe steht, sollte es ‑ſki und nicht ‑ski sein. So steht es zumindest in dem Duden. Hi Speravir, ich meinte natrürlich die Seiten auf Deutsch: 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18. Das sind nur wenige Seiten im Buch auf Deutsch deswegen auch das Buch an sich ist in der polnischen Wikisource. Mit der Sache aktiv/nicht aktiv auf Wikisource ist es aus unserer Sicht kein Problem. Es geht auch nur um einzelne Buchstaben (also nicht irgendwie spezifische Formatierungen). Nach der Korrektur auf grün umstellen, erledigt. Wenn du keine Lust hast verstehe ich das auch allerdings. Danke auch für deine Mühe mit dem Bindestrich. Draco flavus, ich habe eben Seite 13 durchgearbeitet. Irgendjemand hatte sie schon auf Grün gestellt, aber da fehlten am Ende sogar Teile des Textes, so dass ich auf Gelb gestellt habe. Vielleicht willst Du schnell korrekturlesen? Ich bin zwar überzeugt, dass alles richtig ist, aber wegen der fehlenden Teile hielt ich es für besser, nicht als korrekturgelesen zu markieren. Danke, dass mit dem fehlenden Text ist natürlich peinlich. Die anderen zwei Korrekturen habe ich aber zurückgesetzt. Das ist eben unsere "Politik": Abstand wird nach jetzigen Regeln eingesetzt (also manchmal ohne, manchmal hinzugefügt), Vorlage:Roz bzw. Rozstrzelony verhält sich nicht gut bei folgenden Zeichen   deswegen die ulkige Konstruktion. Wir haben zwar eine Vorlage Roz* die universell ist aber die hat ein Overhead (wird also gemieden). Die anderen seiten kannst Du ruhig auf grün setzen und auch Abstände nach Deinem Geschmack machen. Ich werde mir sie dann noch mal anschauen. ich war jetzt an ein paar Kamera-Artikeln dran ... Schaute dann hier unter Canon und siehe da, es gibt die taken with ... Verzeichnisse. Schon mal gut. Der Knüller ist aber das Category:Taken with Canon EOS 5D Mark III-Verzeichnis mit "nur" 23.670 Bildern. Wer soll denn die alle anschauen? Ich hätte gern Suchkriterien/Verzeichnisse nach Inhalt z.B. Obama, Sport, Sportler (Einzelaufnahmen). Kann man das irgendwo beantragen (für cars habe ich mal eins angelegt ...). Hast Du schon was zu dem Thema gehört oder weist Du weiter? Ach diese Kamerakategorien. Um die hab ich mich auch noch nie gekümmert … Also, die Bilder sollten schon noch zusätzlich in eine spezifischere Kategorie einsortiert werden. Es gibt ja beispielsweise Barack Obama mit Unterkategorien (siehe Warnung). Auch haben Sportler oft eine eigene Kat. – wenn nicht, aber es gibt mehrere Bilder (ich selbst fange bei drei an damit), dann sollte sie angelegt werden. Für die kombinierte Suche gibt es PetScan, vergleiche meta:PetScan und de:WP:PetScan. — Speravir – 01:42, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

Wikisympathisant, ich weiß ja nun nicht, was Du getan oder unterlassen hast, deshalb einige Fragen: Hast Du auf Commons umgeschaltet? Hast Du die Kategorien einzeln pro Zeile eingegeben und dabei das Präfix „Category:“ weggelassen? Hast Du „Intersection/Untermenge“ (sozusagen der UND-Fall) gewählt oder „Union/Vereinigungsmenge“ (der ODER-Fall)? Gemeint ist „nur, was in beiden Kategorien vorkommt“, oder „alles, was in einer der beiden Kategorien vorkommt“. Was man bei dieser Formulierung missverstehen kann: Man kann auch mehr als zwei Kategorien eintragen. Oder wolltest Du eine oder mehrere Kategorien ausschließen? Dann musst Du diese unter „Negative categories/Ausgeschlossene Kategorien“ eintragen. Und, leicht zu vergessen (ist mir selbst schon einige Male passiert): Hast Du im Tab „Page properties/Seiteneigenschaften“ unter den „Name spaces/Namensräumen“ die Suche nach „File“ aktiviert? — Speravir – 00:56, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

Zweihundert deutsche Männer in Bildnissen und Lebensbeschreibungen

Hi Speravir, ich hatte gesehen, dass du Category:Portraits from Zweihundert deutsche Männer (Bechstein) angelegt hast. Es hat mich dazu gebracht, ein Projekt für die erste Auflage des Buches auf Wikisource aufzusetzen. Vielleicht hast du ja Lust es etwas zu unterstützen. Ich bin z. B. gerade dabei, die Bilder in die Seiten des Buches einzubinden, so wie hier: [5]. Weiterhin zu tun ist noch das Anlegen der Artikel wie z. B. Caspar Aquila und natürlich das Korrekturlesen. Phuh, eineseits danke für die Info, Arnd, andererseits: Ich hatte ursprünglich vor, alle noch fehlenden Bildnisse nach Commons hochzuladen, nur ist mir irgendwann der Aufwand dafür zu groß geworden, denn die Vorlagen, wie sie in Google Books zu finden sind, waren dann doch so schlecht, dass die Retusche-Arbeit sehr langwierig wurde und die Ergebnisse evtl. auch zweifelhaft. Ich hab nach all der Zeit auch gar nicht mehr daran gedacht und fühle mich jetzt unter Druck gesetzt …

Übrigens gibt es ja mehrere Auflagen, die sich durchaus unterscheiden – es sind also nicht immer dieselben 200 Männer. — Speravir – 23:01, 23 February 2021 (UTC)

Danke für die Rückmeldung. Ich habe übrigens die Erstauflage von 1854 genommen. Bisher fehlen zwei von ca. vierzig Männern, die man dieser Suche finden kann. Das sind ja recht wenige und deswegen hoffe ich, dass es nicht zu viele werden.
