Hi Patrick[edit]

Thanks for flagging that this uploaded image https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Nell_Bryden_Daily_Mail.jpg needs further permission. I have gained permission and the photographer is submitting his consent. --LaraSonnet (talk) 15:54, 30 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Patrick.[edit]

What's problem? The photo "KS_1.jpg" are mine! Yes, it was provided by me for the interview on the link that you found. So what? The photo "Things Album Presentation at New stage of Alexandrinsky Theatre.jpg" made by me at the presentation of the album. All right, quit throwing up roadblocks. This paranoia has got to stop! — Preceding unsigned comment added by MatveySobolev (talk • contribs) 23:43, 24 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Permission request was sent. Please post[edit]

The photo of Arzu Həsənli.jpg is taken by me, I am her relative and have a permission and consent to put her picture. How can we proof or fix it? thanks in advance. The photo is only used in media by Shur Restaraunt's intagram account: https://www.instagram.com/p/BoEVuHeD2tf/. Arzu, the singer itself gave that permission. The Permission request was sent and proceeded by Wiki team. The original photo was also provided as a proof. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JazzMusicien (talk • contribs) 19:22, 31 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Found the right source[edit]

Hello Partick, you have asked for deletion for the photo of Choudhary Rakesh Singh with a former President of India. The first upload was a mistake and I went to the online help channel asking to get it removed as I made a mistake with the copyright details. However, with my second upload, I found the right source which adheres with wikimedia norms. Kindly check the post's details and revert if you find any violations. Regards. Bharatsinghchaturvedi (talk) 22:18, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This looks like license laundering to me. The Flickr image was uploaded today. I expect the other source is significantly older. Huon (talk) 23:07, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Accidental Deletion Request[edit]

Hi Patrick, you have asked for deletion for the photo of Alexis von Hoensbroech. I am a representative of Austrian Airlines who I the owner of all copyrights. Best regards Peter

Hi Patrick, I was surprised by the message I received, since the photo that is published is mine and I use it on my social networks (personal and artistic). I do not see any problem, so I should not download my photo on the page that talks about me. I hope you see the subject well and that there are no misunderstandings.

Accidental Deletion Request[edit]

Hi Patrick, I accidentally processed a nomination for deletion on a media file. Does the copyright holder have to submit another free-to-use form to rectify this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ErtritK (talk • contribs) 15:47, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please delete deletion request for my image[edit]

I work as a photographer for SF, the party that uses the image of our politicians here: SF folketingsgruppe samt MEP august 2016 foto William Vest-Lillesoe.jpg. I am the photographer and have now sent a release form by email. Of course the image is also used by us (uploaded by me) for other purposes such as our website, but I have now granted the rights to share alike. Can you please delete the copyvio tag for the image? I have likewise sent release forms for other photos I have taken and uploaded that were tagged for deletion and hope I am now allowed to display them. Please help me delete[edit]

Dear Patrick, I followed the steps with the utmost attention to details and I do not see what is missing with this file. I am in contact with the permission team in France, I sent them a copy of my ID and I got approved to go forward. I feel extremely disappointed by your message as it looks as a lack of coordination on the wikimedia side. Could you please help me instead of rejecting my contribution without knowing the background? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thehomard08 (talk • contribs) 06:46, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Following your message as what you informed can’t be done. Can you please help me remove the requested file without delay. Thanks in advance. AhamBrahmasmi (talk) 23:10, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Do not delete my files again without sending a request to me[edit]

You are unaware of what you are doing and are false flagging me. This is going to make me have to do more work because you are making assumptions. You quoted an article with the photo I own and that article made no claim to the copyright. Do not do this again. In the future send me a message asking for clarification. I expressly have the rights to publish this photo on here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DiscoDiego (talk • contribs) 04:13, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Uncomprehensible DR[edit]

Estimee M Rogel, it is impossible to understand your DR https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Clavillazo_in_"PIERNAS_DE_ORO".jpg because of bad english. "any reason for U.S. law to apply" is not comprehensible (sp?). And, if it was published in the US without a copyright notice, what is your analysis of the legala consequences? --Janwikifoto (talk) 23:05, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect Missing permission[edit]

Bonjour Rogel, your DR https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Pura_vida.jpg is difficult if not impossible to understand. No permission? If the picture actually _was_ published in the US without a copyright notice, what is your analysis? Would it then be ok for Commons/Wikipedia? What does "Source: Ebay listing" mean to you? Please analyze and write your conclusions here. Best Regards, --Janwikifoto (talk) 23:10, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, You can close or withdraw a deletion request if you create it. Regards, Yann (talk) 05:22, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Can you help me with the proper procedure to follow?[edit]

Dear Patrick

thanks for your message about my julien_bobroff_portrait.jpg added file to Commons.Wikimedia. I must admit I'm a little beginner with proper procedures and I don't know how to do it properly. CAn you advice me ? I submitted the file a few weeks ago, you put it for deletion, I argued that I did the picture myself and there was no violation of copyright and asked for undeletion. But no action was taken then and the file was deleted.

I did not see other action than to to resubmit another version of it. But this time, thanks to the former interactions I had with you, I gave a clear advertismement about possible issues as described in the summary section here https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Julien_Bobroff_Portrait.jpg (trying to make it the more transparent and clear I could).

Can you advise me how I should proceed to convince you and others that the file is fairly produced by myself with no copyright issue ? I have to admit this is the first time the content I put on Wikimedia encounters such problems and I sincerely want to proove my honesty.

Thanks in advance for your help (and sorry for the length of the message). Julien Bobroff — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jubobroff (talk • contribs) 13:03, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

re-bonjour

For images already published elsewhere without evidence of free license, a written free license permission following COM:OTRS instructions is required. Also, I cannot find no evidence about self-timer in the EXIF data; you may nedd to prove to the OTRS agent handling your permission that the photo was indeed made using a self-timer"). Apparemment l'administrateur ne croit pas qu'un timer ait été utilisé... Passer par COM:OTRS/fr est la seule façon d'essayer de régler le problème. Sinon, la photo seraindéfiniment supprimée. Cordialement, --Patrick Rogel (talk) 13:41, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please undelete my photo - Thomas Crowther British Ecologist[edit]

Hi Patrick

You've deleted the photo of me on copyright grounds. This photo was taken with my camera in 2017, and uploaded to the Global Forest Biodiversity Initiative (GFBI) website (http://www.gfbinitiative.org). The GFBI is an initiative I co-founded and I provided this photo for the creation of that website. I've also used this image in the past for my own Google Scholar. I do not know Greg Seymor personally, but I have no issues with him using my photo for the purposes of his presentation on my research.

I'd really appreciate if you could undelete my photo on the Thomas Crowther (ecologist) wikipedia page.

Thanks in advance.

Commons: Undeletion request for DariaBignardi low res[edit]

Dear Patrick, I kindly ask you to restore the image "DariaBignardi low res.jpg" which I uploaded yesterday on Daria Bignardi's Italian Wiki Page and that you deleted from Commons (User_talk_Dreammy). The photo is actually on Public domain and you can find it on different websites, beside the one I quoted (https://www.librimondadori.it/autore/daria-bignardi/) and which I chose to mention just because it's her Italian publisher. Here are some examples:

I hope this is enough information for you to procede with the undeletion. Please let me know if there is anything else I should do. Bye Dreammy (talk)

Alex_Barbier.png[edit]

Marc Keppens[edit]

The rights on the picture of File:Marc Keppens.jpg have been sent twice to permission-commons, once by the author and once again by me (the author also sent it to me), so I don't understand why the copyright warning is being kept on the picture's page. --Queeste (talk) 12:36, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Macheta - Catedrala Mântuirii Neamului.jpg[edit]

The three pictures are public domains, found on all theological sites in Romania. They belong to the Romanian Patriarchate, who offered them to the public domain. I've been to the cathedral many times. They are very happy to promote their model. If they agree verbally, it is necessary to write ?!?. However, after completing the cathedral's construction, the model becomes useless. Officials are glad if the model is promoted on wiki and other platforms... and I offered to promote the model. If you want to delete the picture, that's it. An example of a link (there are hundreds of sites):/// http://basilica.ro/catedrala-nationala-un-deziderat-al-romanilor-inca-din-timpul-regelui-carol-i/ /// https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMzbZBRLfQw /// If you do not like... I take the picture and abandon it on the Commons site. There is no end to the world!. Sometimes when you want to do a promotion is interpreted as wrong. MIHAIL (talk) 15:41, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Macheta[edit]

It makes no sense to explain 100 years, for some pictures that is a free public domain and where everything is arranged for promotion. This picture is good? /// File:People's Salvation Cathedral - Panorama (Noiembrie - 2018).jpg /// or you want to delete it too :)). Officials are very happy to be promoted, but strangers from other countries, do not understand what's inside the institution. We now know what pictures you do not want ^_^ pff. I say do not waste your time... If you want to delete very well, go.. anyway the picture is abandoned. We find other promotional pictures. Nobody cry for a photo... the last message MIHAIL (talk) 19:52, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

NEW QUESTION: Okay, I understand that I need permission sent to your COM:OTRS link that you sent to me, and thank for that by the way. However, could you please explain to me exactly what is required in their message and permission that they must leave for Lorraine Feather? I.E., Steve Granitz grants permission for Lorraine Feather to post photo: "Lorraine-Feather-at-the-56th-Grammy-Awards.jpg" for use on Wikipedia and Wikimedia Is this acceptable? Please explain to me what will be excepted by Wikimedia and Wikipedia, because these are extremely busy photographers who become annoyed at special requests like this one, so I will have only one opportunity to get this right. Please advise? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zoe340 (talk • contribs) 11:28, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Undeletion of PAENDA photos[edit]

Dear Rogel,

would you please be so kind as to undelete the picture for PAENDA. The photo rights lie with PAENDA's label, Wohnzimmer Records. Thomas Ramsdorfer took the photos, but does not in fact own it (it might have come across as confusing, as I've put his name down - but he took the photos, so I felt obligated to name him). I have permission by Wohnzimmer label head Kerstin Breyer, as well as PAENDA aka Gabriela Horn herself, to publish these photos on Wikipedia, as she is my sister.

The pictures are, in fact, publically available for ANY use on this page: https://promotion.wohnzimmer.com/mcard.php?token=NUDN7K2TV1SHAO67NUZ3I69Z

This concerns the following pictures:

Sergio Sarra works deleted[edit]

Dear Patrick Rogel,

you marked a pictures I uploaded of Sergio Sarra's works because of copyright violation. Anyway, I think there is a misunderstanding.

I mentioned as the source of the images the website of Archivio Studio Sarra where there are some of these photos. The website is copyrighted, but the "Archivio Studio Sarra" give me a slightly different copy of each image intended for free Creative Commons use by the owner himself. So the real source of the image is simply "Archivio Studio Sarra".

The images intended for free Creative Commons use by the owner himself are:

  • Sergio Sarra.jpg
  • File:Earvin 'Magic' Johnson, Sergio Sarra, Darnell Valentine.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra, two Ipnlogic 5, 2013.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra, Relationship, 2006.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra Table sculpture.jpg
  • File:Umberto Curi, La forza dello sguardo.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra, iceberg 7 - study no.2, 2017.jpg
  • File:1 - Aperto '93, Venice Biennale, installation view.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra, Psichedelyc garden 1 - Psichedelyc garden 3, 2008.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra, Involuntary commitment, 2010.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra, Pettino, planimetria di Contrada Selva, 2011.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra in studio.jpg
  • File:Paesaggio, 1993, pittura ad olio su tela, 40 x 53 cm. Aperto '93, XLV Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte di Venezia, La Biennale di Venezia, Corderie dell’Arsenale, 1993. Foto
  • File:Sergio Sarra - Caparsino.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra - LSD.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra - Elisabetta.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra - due Ipnologic.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra - Italian garden and fountain.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra - Italian garden with child.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra - Players in the Mediterranean.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra - D. dal vero n. 2.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra - Psychedelic garden.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra - EWHA Womans University.jpg
  • File:Sergio Sarra - Vetta del Monte.jpg

I would like to understand how to correct the source of images (from sergiosarra.it to Archivio Studio Sarra) and remove the copyright violation tagging for all the pictures mentioned above. Obviously, I can prove that the images I uploaded are the copies intended for free Creative Commons use by the owner himself, the "Archivio Studio Sarra".

Kind regards, Synenvi (talk) 12:05, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you do not eliminate it anymore. Please. I wait your answer. Thank you. Luiscceres (talk) 14:11, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Raoul Millais[edit]

Hello Sir, I apologise for uploading Roaul Millais images. Fortunately I realised that I didn't have permission before I loaded the remaining group. I thought I was covered at the outset because most of the painting swere painted over seventy years ago (but not all) .I thought I was thus covered for uploading but now realise I need to get the publishers' written permission for the paintings' representation to be used. I got myself into a bit of a flap actually for which I apologise. As you will see I'm normally further back into the past.I am fine about deleting the remaining image. Pictures to Werner von Schmieden and Karl-Armin Tröger[edit]

Hi Patrick, these two pictures that you ask to delete are our private pics. Werner von Schmieden as well as Karl-Armin Tröger are my relatives. The picture in question from Werner von Schmieden is from the private photo album from my parents and my mum scanned it. The picture in question with Karl-Armin Tröger has been made by Katri Faehling, my ex-gf and friend of the family. She made this picture on a private family event from my parents. So yes, we do have the permissions to both the pictures. And I herewith kindly ask you to approve both. GAP089 (talk) 21:08, 14 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Patrick

You've deleted the photo of me on copyright grounds. The picture is a cover of my book that I designed and edited 2019, and uploaded to my website (http://www.idanedut.com). I've also used this image in the past for my book.

I'd really appreciate if you could undelete my photo on the ch, בית ספר לבני אלוהים wikiquote page.

Thanks in advance.

I really made this photo, as I declared. Plus, the reason for deletion is not that is form google plus, that is a google profile, and on google profile u do not have any photo but the video. So, it is tuning, not the fact. I have series of photos like that, so I can upload them. Therefore be creative, not destructive to author of new and great profile image on wi. Photo marked for copyright violations: Jonathan Stamler.jpg[edit]

Patrick, you have marked a photo I uploaded for copyright violation and deletion. This photo of a person was given to me by the subject and it was made as a work for hire. We had the photographer remove the embedded copyright EXIF information in the version of the photo that I uploaded (and I gave the website and email address of the photographer in the submission so he could confirm this when asked). You have found an instance of an uncropped version of this photograph on a website (a news release from the subject's employer), and this version still contains the original copyright watermark. I know of at least one other website using versions of the same photo (see https://www.uhhospitals.org/harrington-discovery-institute/harrington-investigators/jonathan-stamler) that will also contain the original copyright watermark. My question to you is, how do I submit a photo taken for hire, where I have permission to do so from the subject and the photographer, despite other versions appearing on websites that contain copyright information? How do I get Wikimedia to actually ask the photographer as they say they will (I thought I had requested this in my submission). Or do I need to have all websites containing any version of this photo replace their versions with the one with no embedded EXIF watermark?? Sorry, first time uploading a photo here, and thanks for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RPremont (talk • contribs) 14:34, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Patrick. It seems this image isn't the problem but the image from which it was created File:SAMCODES JSE Launch 2.jpg is, owing to copyright violation 2007, right? Nope[edit]

Marking as possible copyvio because https://www.picsunday.com/p/Amir-Abbas-Fakhravar.html

https://www.picsunday.com/p/Amir-Abbas-Fakhravar.html is a random automatic image aggregator site. Generally useless to prove copyvio. Sometimes, if it provides a clear date for when the image was indexed and that date predates the Commons upload. Which is not the case here. Even worse: the proof for copyvio here is an image hotlinked from Commons. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 08:27, 24 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding File:Sanam Jung's promotional shoot for Jago Pakistan Jago.jpg deletion.[edit]

Hi! Thanks for your rather speedy work; appreciate it. The fact is that this is my own work. The FB post you've referred to is actually a fanpage of a Pakistani Actress. I should be thanking you for bringing this to my attention. The person(s) who uploaded this picture to their Facebook profile is the culprit of violating copyright rules. I'm going to report that post right now. This picture is from a promotional shoot and has been used ONLY ONCE on the web by my permission: "https://www.hum.tv/marriage-has-been-a-totally-different-experience-for-me-sanam-jung/" Otherwise, this picture abides by the rules. I hope you understand and remove the 'speedy deletion' tag to the earliest of your convenience. Thank you! ASStoroid (talk) 22:11, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion tags[edit]

Removing a tag for a formal deletion debate before it's resolved, that's not done. Removing an erroneous tag for speedy deletion, there's no problem with that. (Provided it really is erroneous, of course. But there's reason to believe here that this is the case.) DS (talk) 12:53, 14 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Specifically: the image has been found on Flickr with a suitable license. The bot has been unable to verify this license's validity, and thus it must be verified by a human. COM:LL does not apply in this context. DS (talk) 12:58, 14 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
What do you think "remove this template" means ? It's what I've been doing. If you feel it still meets deletion criteria, then you open the formal deletion request. DS (talk) 13:04, 14 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Reporting image[edit]

Hi Patrick Rogel, this image was copied from the internet by serial rights violator Nelatti. His modus operandi — in his own words — is " I just simply Google search the related image and download the first good copy I find regardless of source because of convenience". I have been trying for ages to get him to mend his way in the English Wikipedia, but despite three blocks, he simply carries on doing the same type of edits for which he has been blocked. Hi, I am currently receiving the OTRS permissions. The photo was provided to me by Karen Adolph to upload onto Wikimedia Commons.Celizas (talk) 20:03, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't really your issue with the image. the image I used is widely common on the web and you can find it on many websites without any issue concerning copyrights. Do you want me to take a photo for the actress myself to delete every shadow of a doubt of the copyrights?

permission information for File:Fréset 9.jpg File:Fréset 8.jpg File:Fréset, Parc Montmorency à Bourbonne-les-Bains sous la neige, 1961, huile sur panneau.jpg[edit]

Hello Patrick.

Georges Fréset is a famous painter and also my great-grandfather. Those files (Fréset 9.jpg and Fréset 8.jpg) are paintings from my and my family's collection. I took the pictures. Shall I do something else?

One execption is the file "Parc Montmorency à Bourbonne-les-Bains sous la neige, 1961, huile sur panneau" which is my picture taken in the Bourbonne-les-Bains public Museum. I can delete it if required!

Thank you very much. Kind regards

Nicolas Namalric86

Hello Patrick. Does the files (Fréset 9.jpg and Fréset 8.jpg) are now under permission? I've seen "This file is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International license." on the file page... So I can use it? A lot of other pictures are now deleted. I have sent a mail to COM:OTRS 1 week ago but the pictures are still unfindable. What can I do please? Thank you

Please do not delete all the images that I uploaded. I am working on an exception from my NDA that will allow me to publish the emails in which I was given permission to donate them to the public domain.

Southernman robbie tour.jpg[edit]

Hi there. The photo you found it as has violated the copyright, is mine. It was taken with my phone, during the period I was Robbie's guide in Estonia. He asked me that time for my approve to post the picture on his website, so that is why you can see it there too. How can we manage the situation? Thanks ! Hi Patrick,

The file Rachel Neaman, photo by Fenris Oswin.jpg is owned by me and I have the photographer's full permission to reproduce any of his photographs of me (he recently did a photo shoot with me). I wanted to credit him as the photographer but there is no issue with copyright.

Please do not delet this file.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RCN 231 (talk • contribs) 09:26, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Elsa Hosk photos[edit]

Hi, You reported two photos that I added, claiming that they are without a license. I do not know where this information came from, but looking for a video on youtube.com, I deliberately marked in the filters a "commons license" and used screenshots from the video, which then appeared on the list.

In my opinion, everything is fine with the license.

Careerfromhome (talk) 07:24, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Heil Rogel, Some rights reserved, Wiki[edit]

Notification of possible copyright violation for File:Adriano Espinola.jpg[edit]

Dear Patrick,

I've received a notification from you saying that could be a possible copyright violation from a photo that I submitted entitled Adriano Espinola.jpg. I'd like to kindly ask you to remove that mark since I'm the person who took that picture, therefore I own all the to rights to it.

If there is any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aefilho (talk • contribs) 02:09, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Patrick,

Following your instructions I made a request via COM:OTRS.

The ticket is the following Ticket#2019040210007607

Is there anything else I have to do in order to prevent the image to be removed?

Thanks in advance — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aefilho (talk • contribs) 16:35, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging of File:2010s collage mockup draft.jpg[edit]

You tagged File:2010s collage mockup draft.jpg, which I uploaded, as missing adequate permissions. As the file description says, it's a collage mockup (for the purposes of a talk page conversation) derived solely from freely-licensed Commons files, all of which are unambiguously identified by filename in the description. Maybe I mistagged the upload somehow (I'm not super experienced on Commons), but I don't see how there could be a licensing problem with a file derived from freely licensed sources that are all explicitly identified. It would be nice if the image wasn't deleted, since it's a draft of a potential lead image and is under discussion on en:Talk:2010s. If there's anything I can do to clear this up I'm happy to do so, but the request for OTRS permission doesn't make a lot of sense given the context. ZX95 (talk) 15:45, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Killer Queen Ahoy[edit]

The image shown on the wikipedia page is not owned by the writer - patrick myers. He has supplied the image and others to the Iconsfestial site as they have a gig there later in 2019. Icons do not have a claim to the copyright. It has been part of the publicity pack for several years - the Iconsfestival website only went online in 2018.

Hi further to your reply - the icons site was given the image to use freely. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Patrickmyers71 (talk • contribs) 23:29, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
