Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Made a mistake?

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Hi Mykola Swarnyk, when you scan or reproduce an existing photo from somebody else, you do not earn own copyright, instead you may violate the copyright of the original photographer. You probably think I deleted other users postings on the Fastily talk page? I looked through the history and it seems as I deleted it. But in fact I did`nt. Probably there was something wrong with simultaneous writed messages. My apologies again. I just tried to repost my message which did`nt appeared in the Fastily talk page window. One of these two things probably happened: 1) you accidentally edited an old version of the page, or 2) you started editing a page and came back after a few hours and when you got an edit conflict, you copied and pasted from your version over the new version. Сергію, дякую за підказку. Якраз почав до цього доходити самостійно, поправляю за собою по старших своїх фотографіях. Мене ще цікавить така штука: як у підкатегоріях стортувати напр.за населеним пунктом а не за першою літерою назви файлу (що часто трапляється)? Вибачте, що довго не відповідав. Має допомогти категоризація у формі [[Category:Objects by city|Lviv]]. Тобто з ключем сортування (наприклад "Lviv") для певної категорії. Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

The 2013 Picture of the Year competition has ended and we are pleased to announce the results: We shattered participation records this year — more people voted in Picture of the Year 2013 than ever before. In both rounds, 4070 different people voted for their favorite images. Additionally, there were more image candidates (featured pictures) in the contest than ever before (962 images total).

In the first round, 2852 people voted for all 962 files
In the second round, 2919 people voted for the 50 finalists (the top 30 overall and top 2 in each category)

We congratulate the winners of the contest and thank them for creating these beautiful images and sharing them as freely licensed content:

157 people voted for the winner, an image of a lightbulb with the tungsten filament smoking and burning.
In second place, 155 people voted for an image of "Sviati Hory" (Holy Mountains) National Park in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine.

Commons:Photo challenge-translations[edit]

Hello Mykola,
I saw that you did most of the translations for the Commons:Photo challenge page to Ukrainian and wanted to ask if you are still interested in translating texts for this project. If you are, there are several things that could be translated: a) the page itself was just actualised, b) we started to translate the challenge descriptions themselves (so far only with langswitch), and c) I just posted translations to French and English for the watchlist notice (MediaWiki talk:WatchlistNotice - the last entry), where other languages could be added.

Hello Mykola,

The challenges for August are ready for translation - if you find the time, here are the links: Hair & Holidays. The general rules which remain the same from month to month are now transferred into two templates - Template:Photo challenge rules and Template:Photo challenge rules restricted (the only difference between the two templates is that the sentence but may have been taken earlier is missing in the restricted one). The templates can also be translated (and corrected if somebody else finds some mistakes ;->).

Thanks for helping - I just copied your translation of the Template:Photo challenge rules into Template:Photo challenge rules restricted (minus the sentence in brackets). However, you missed the second LangSwitch-sentence on Holidays (the time restriction below the rules-template) - and if you'd like, you could also translate the watchlist notice which will appear on the watchlist pages into Ukrainian. We are preparing that in Helen Online's sandbox (User:HelenOnline/sandbox/Photo challenge template#Next).

You said last month that you'd like to have somebody check your translation (something I also prefer - and absolutely need if I try to translate to French) - do you have somebody to do that or can I help you to look for a user on commons who could help? Category redirects[edit]

Hi Mykola, while fixing uncategorized categories I noticed that you are doing localizations or correct spelling errors in a number of categories. I appreciate this, but please allow me a suggestion: If you blank a superseded category (i.e. remove all categories it is attached to), this category will show up in a maintenance list, needing further attention. Instead (and especially if the old category existed for some time and might be linked from other sites) you could set a redirect by putting {{category redirect|name of new category}} on the page ("name of new category" replaced by the actual name). This will point everyone accessing the old category to the new one and is really helpful, because even the Hotcat-Tool recognizes it. Actually, I just didn't know what to write - especially as the sample gallery also includes eye-spots, which would imply that all interpretations of the theme are allowed. I decided that either the title is self-explanatory enough or somebody else would have to add it... do you think a longer explanation is needed? If yes, it would be great if you could just write another sentence (and if you'd like, feel free to define some limits).

Category:Party of Regions politicians[edit]

Доброго вечора! Звертаю увагу, що вже існує Category:Members of Party of Regions (Ukraine). Крім того, цю категорію варто додавати на сторінку категорії про особу, а не на сторінку файлів, (наприклад, на сторінку Category:Oleksiy Plotnikov, а не File:Oleksiy Plotnikov.jpg). Бачите, тезко, я не був певен щодо членства цієї особи саме в Партії регіонів, оскільки в самій статті про це не було ні слова. Тому до статті я додав категорію щодо фракції (в нас чомусь це дерево зовсім не розвинене, а варто б - це окреме питання). В той же час у виборчих кампаніях є немало випадків, коли партії залучали представників інших, сателітних партій, або навіть позапартійних до своїх виборчих списків. У статті було про членство у фракції, це факт. По-друге, не всі члени партії є політиками, якийсь слюсар може бути членом первинки, але політиком не бути. На комонз якраз є аналог категорій такого формату щодо політиків, адже якраз політики є публічними людьми і частіше потрапляють в кадр. Якщо ви вже вилучили дану категорію, я битись не буду, бо вам уже й так бійок вистачає. Просто зверніть увагу, категорії на Комонз дуже приблизно відповідають, а часом доволі радикально відрізняються від категорій локальних вікі - оскільки тут сортування зображень, а там понять загалом, і те що грузиться на Комонз, може взагалі мати категорії, які у вікі жодного сенсу не мають - напр. якась пташка в польоті, самець/самка, ювенільна і за сезоном, і за кольором, і в природі чи в неволі - все це категоризується. Нам в укрвікі до такої деталізації дуже далеко, але все ж - до цього буде йтись, не настроюйте себе на великі обмеження в цьому просторі. Успіхів! Дякую за пояснення. Я згоден, що в Category:Politicians by party дерево краще, але якщо подивитися кілька великих країн (Category:Politicians of Germany by party, Category:Politicians of France by party, Category:Politicians of the United Kingdom by party, Category:Politicians of Poland by party тощо), то там категорії Members of Party, а не Party politicians. Мені найбільше не сподобалося те, що ви розділили окремо політиків певної партії та членів певної партії, бо це буде дві паралельні категорії зі своєю плутаниною. Можливо, варто перейменувати нашу Category:Members of political parties in Ukraine, щоб вбудувати її в дерево Category:Politicians by party, але я точно не підтримую дві окремі категорії для членів та політиків-нечленів — NickK (talk) 20:47, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@NickK: Чи ви маєте на увазі категорії статей чи категорії зображень? Бо якщо зображень - то Members (за українськими реаліями, як відмобілізована частина "лохторату") не матимуть великого сенсу, адже 99% з них будуть реально незначимими особами, без фотографій; а політики, - голови організацій, суспільні діячі, високопосадовці - принаймні матимуть свої фотографії в картках-шаблонах. Політики й самі у якихось подіях беруть участь, і про них пишуть чи беруть інтерв`ю, це все повідомлення і зображення, які підлягають категоризації. Якщо це партія західного типу з суспільно активними членами, які організовують і ведуть кампанії, там, можливо, значимими можуть бути дехто з Members. А в нас той натовп п`яничок чи тьотки в шапках точно не потребуватимуть жодної категорії. Про членів фракції-не членів партії сам особисто достеменно знаю непоодинокі випадки, і з бізнесменами-спонсорами, і з громадськими лідерами, залученими в ході виборчих кампаній для "поліпшення іміджу". В той же час членство в партії для декого з них може бути інформацією, яку вони самі не рекламуватимуть. Але я б ці винятки облишив як несуттєві. У зображеннях я б радив іти згідно з тими категоріями, які більш поширені на Commons, так ми не будемо їм мішатися з нашими незначимими членами партій. Оскільки ми на Вікісховищі, звісно, мова про категорії зображень (точніше навіть категорії категорій з зображеннями, на кшталт Category:Oleksiy Plotnikov). Щодо незначимих членів можете не перейматися, оскільки фото очевидно незначимих осіб з Вікісховища теж можуть бути вилучені згідно з COM:SCOPE, тож загалом усе зводиться до значимих членів, щодо яких на додачу має бути джерело про членство в Партії регіонів. Я теж знаю про існування нечленів, які представляють певну партію, але тут вони і так прирівняні до членів, наприклад, Category:Hanna Hopko успішно занесена до Category:Members of Samopomich, хоча вона формально й позапартійна. Мене влаштують обидва варіанти, але має бути лише одна категорія — або Members, або Politicians, причому однаково для всіх партій, щоб не плутати — NickK (talk) 20:13, 5 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

1 вересня вже традиційно стартувала українська частина міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки»! До 30 вересня включно Ви можете подавати власні фото пам'яток історико-культурної спадщини України — і змагатися за призи. Цього року є трохи змін у правилах конкурсу:

фотографії пам'яток, для яких на момент початку конкурсу (відповідно до відомої Організаційному комітету інформації) не було жодної ілюстрації на Вікісховищі або у Вікіпедії, отримують коефіцієнт рівний 7 (для кожної пам'ятки);
фотографії автоматично вантажаться у категорію, яка бере учать у номінації за найбільшу кількість сфотографованих об'єктів, для того, щоб фото позмагалося у номінації за найкраще фото потрібно вибрати необхідні налаштування у завантажувачі.

Також у конкурсі є спецномінація банерів для статей у Вікімандрах, детальніше за посиланням.

These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked.

In the final (and current) round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2018.

Round 2 will end 17 March 2019, 23:59:59.

@Alina Vozna: Вітаю, Аліно! Це технічна категорія для фотографій, щоб полегшити їх сортування на майбутньому етапі оцінювання. Наскільки я розумію, ті фото, які потраплять зараз у Round Zero, в подальшому будуть оцінюватись лише за кількісними параметрами. Я кидаю туди все, що містить якісь таблиці, незрозумілі хащі, колоди і подібне. А інші - красивенькі фотки - вони потім будуть додатково розглядатися журі на предмет кращих у категорії, по областях, по ще інших параметрах - тобто ми зараз робимо відсів, щоб потім журі не мусило оцінювати тисячі, а лише сотні. Вікі любить пам'ятки 2019 в Україні[edit]

Привіт!

1 вересня вже традиційно стартує українська частина міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки»! До кінця вересня Ви можете подавати власні фото пам'яток історико-культурної спадщини України — і змагатися за призи. Більше про те, як взяти участь, можна прочитати за посиланням.

Із детальними правилами можна ознайомитися тут. Для тих, хто раніше уже брав участь у конкурсі — зауважте, що цього року є певні зміни:

у номінації «Найкраще фото» — файли повинні мати не менше 4 МПкс;
у номінації «За найбільшу кількість сфотографованих пам’яток» — оцінка фотографії пам'ятки складається із суми базового та додаткових балів (в останній враховується чи ця пам'ятка вже фотографувалася іншими авторами та скільки фотографій пам'яток уже є з цього населеного пункту);

Нагадаємо, що фотографії автоматично беруть участь у номінації «За найбільшу кількість сфотографованих пам’яток»; однак для того, щоб фото позмагалося у номінації «Найкраще фото», потрібно підтвердити це при завантаженні.

Також цього року маємо спецномінації «Єврейська спадщина» та «Млини». Також окремо відзначатимуться найкращі відео із пам'ятками.

Зараз організатори конкурсу проводять опитування для учасників, аби вирішити, чи варто його проводити цього року — і якщо так, то коли. Видається, що через пандемію COVID-19 було б недоречно проводити українську частину «Вікі любить Землю» у традиційні дати, тобто протягом травня. Однак ми можемо провести його у червні або липні. Organizers of the contest are holding a survey for participants to decide on whether to hold the contest this year — and when to do it. It seems that holding Ukrainian Wiki Loves Earth within traditional dates in May would not be reasonable because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, we can hold the contest in June or July. To decide, we need your opinion.

З 1 по 30 вересня вже традиційно пройде українська частина міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки»! На конкурс можна подавати власні фото пам'яток історико-культурної спадщини України — і змагатися за призи. Більше можна прочитати за посиланням.

Радимо ознайомитися із детальними правилами, а також із відповідями на часті питання. З найважливіших змін цього року:

у номінації «За найбільшу кількість сфотографованих пам’яток» — збільшився додатковий бал за фотографії пам'яток (якщо світлин пам'ятки раніше не було завантажено, то можна отримати 21 бал.

Нагадаємо, що всі фотографії автоматично беруть участь у номінації «За найбільшу кількість сфотографованих пам’яток»; однак для того, щоб фото позмагалося у номінації «Найкраще фото», потрібно підтвердити це при завантаженні.

Цього року теж є спецномінації «Єврейська спадщина», «Млини» та «Відео». Також є спеціальна номінація від проєкту «Via Regia Ukraine» — у ній автоматично беруть участь світлини всіх пам’яток міст України, через які пролягає Via Regia — Дубно, Рівне, Острог, Львів, Броди, Городок (Львівська область), Луцьк, Володимир-Волинський, Радомишль, Житомир та Київ. Цього року у Завантажувачі не передбачено окремих параметрів для спецномінацій — світлини зараховуватимуться автоматично з відповідних списків.

Вікі любить пам'ятки 2020 в Україні: залишилося два тижні! / Wiki Loves Monuments 2020 in Ukraine: two weeks are left![edit]

Привіт!

Українська частина міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки» триватиме ще два тижні, до 30 вересня!

За перші два тижні учасники завантажили понад 16 тисяч фото українських пам’яток. Це поки найбільший результат серед усіх 29 країн, які цьогоріч організовують конкурс. Свої роботи на українську частину конкурсу вже подали 239 авторів, половина із них вперше долучилися до змагання. На знімках представлені пам’ятки з усіх регіонів України. Загалом сфотографовано 5568 об’єктів із конкурсних списків.

Найменш представленими поки є Луганська (69 фото 45 об’єктів) і Херсонська (81 фото 38 об’єктів) області та місто Севастополь (136 фото 39 об’єктів). Якщо у вас (чи у ваших друзів та знайомих) є світлини з цих регіонів — без вагань долучайтеся до фотозмагання!

У рамках спеціальної номінації «Єврейська спадщина» завантажено понад 650 світлин 126 пам'яток, з яких знімки 42 — завантажено вперше. Якщо ваш населений пункт має об'єкти єврейської культурної спадщини, але їх нема у списках, напишіть нам, щоб ми їх додали до списків!

Спеціальна номінація «Млини» — понад 640 фото 144 об'єктів, знімки 44 — завантажено вперше. Загалом база млинів зараз нараховує понад 615 об'єктів, і вона постійно доповнюється.

Вперше цього року ми втілюємо спеціальну номінацію від проєкту «Via Regia Ukraine» — на жаль, ще зовсім нема світлин із Бродів та Радомишля. І з Житомира є тільки 7 світлин, а з міста Рівного — 8 фото.

У спеціальній номінації «Відео» — понад 20 робіт.

Попереду ще два тижні конкурсу. Встигніть долучитися самі та запрошуйте друзів.

@Микола Василечко: Бачив, що там щось на грані, але насправді картини на зображенні фрагментарні, під кутом і без кольорової гами. Крім того, в Канаді FOP для зображень у громадських місцях і як фон при ілюстрації подій. Може так пройде. Якщо ні, мабуть стаття лишиться без фото, бо Вандяк помер, а через 50 років мене не буде точно. Аня Кісіль (вона фактично фінансувала видання його збірки) померла минулого тижня. Та в мене теж є і картини познимковані, і книжку маю. Там песик чого вартий! Кудись треба підгрузити поза Вікіпедією. Шкода, треба чекати 70 років... Ну це, вживу, 100-літній тест. Так воно й є. Можна запитати в нащадків (якщо є), до кого перейшли права на спадщину Вандяка. Тоді й узяти від правовласника дозвіл на одну-дві-три картини чи й увесь доробок, щоб без проблем використовувати їх для ілюстрацій у статтях. Я кілька таких дозволів у тернопільських митців отримав, але наразі вже зникло бажання на таке, бо то складна справа пояснити українським митцям про таку проблему, як авторське право. Особливо про т. зв. «свободу панорами». До слова, практично всі, наприклад, скульптори, архітектори, з якими спілкувався, не проти поширення світлин їхніх творів і дивуються, що таке поширення творів у громадських місцях є під забороною :) .--Микола Василечко (talk) 06:38, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Щодо обговорення «Завантаження нових версій» на укрвікі[edit]

Довелося й собі нагадати процедуру, бо рідко виправляю чужі світлини, приклад File:Храм Воздвиження чесного хреста УАПЦ. - panoramio (8).jpg.
Отже, якщо береться файл з Вікісховища і обробляється оригінальний файл (корекція кольору, різкість, дрібна незначна обрізка) иншого автора, то після обробки назва файлу на компі має бути (бажано) такою ж, як і назва на Вікісховищі. Далі натискаємо Завантажити нову версію цього файлу, Назва вихідного файлу і плашку «Вибрати файл», пишемо в Описі Зміни у файлі, які ми зробили, і натискаємо плашку «Завантажити файл». Вихідну URL-адресу не чіпаємо! Це робиться в тому випадку, коли файл є десь на зовнішньому вільному сайті, звідки автоматично завантажується нова версія (дається адреса на сам файл, наприклад https://dzherelocentre.org.ua/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Mykola-Svarnyk-300x297.jpg. На Вікісховище це не діє, адже ви або завантажуєте нову версію файлу, або завантажуєте з URL - одночасно бути не може.
Якщо ж ви робите ґрунтовні зміни, як ось значна обрізка чи дуже різка зміна кольорової гами зображення, тоді доцільно завантажувати файл окремо, при завантаженні давати ті ж дані про файл, що і в оригіналі (автор, дата, джерело, ліцензія), далі на оригінал даємо у рядку |other versions={{Image extracted|назва.jpg}} — посилання на фрагмент цього зображення, а в новому файлі/фрагменті даємо |other versions={{Extracted from|назва.jpg}} — посилання фрагмента на оригінал зображення. «Вікі любить Землю» 2021 в Україні пройде з 1 по 30 червня[edit]

Доброго дня!

Ви брали участь у конкурсі «Вікі любить Землю» в Україні раніше, тож приносимо вам важливу новину — цього року конкурс відбудеться протягом червня.

Як і в попередні роки, долучитися до змагання можуть усі охочі — як професійні фотографи, так і аматори. Головне, щоб ви любили Землю і розділяли ідею конкурсу — представити природно-заповідні території України за допомогою світлин під вільними ліцензіями. У Вікіпедії та Вікісховищі конкурсні фото будуть доступні тисячам людей.

Загальний формат конкурсу буде таким же, як у минулі роки. Протягом травня ми опублікуємо детальні умови та можливості для участі у спеціальних номінацій. Стежте за новинами проєкту у Фейсбуці, Інстаграмі або у блозі. Також ключова інформація буде з'являтися на сторінці у Вікісховищі.

Під час зйомок у заповідних територіях просимо дотримуватися правил їх відвідування і встановлених карантинних обмежень. Найважливіші правила ми зібрали тут.

Привіт!

З 1 по 30 вересня вже традиційно пройде українська частина міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки»! В Україні цей конкурс пройде вже вдесяте. На конкурс можна подавати власні фото пам'яток історико-культурної спадщини України — і змагатися за призи. Більше можна прочитати за посиланням.

Радимо ознайомитися із детальними правилами, а також із відповідями на часті питання. Як і того року — у номінації «За найбільшу кількість сфотографованих пам’яток» можна отримати 21 бал за фотографії об'єктів, якщо світлин цієї пам'ятки раніше не було завантажено.

Нагадаємо, що всі фотографії автоматично беруть участь у номінації «За найбільшу кількість сфотографованих пам’яток»; однак для того, щоб фото позмагалося у номінації «Найкраще фото», потрібно підтвердити це при завантаженні.

Цього року вперше будуть окремо виділені фото з повітря (дронами, квадрокоптерами тощо) — у спеціальній номінації «Аерофото». Для того, щоб робота потрапила на спецномінацію потрібно вибрати її у Завантажувачі.

Також вперше проводиться спеціальна номінація «Пам'ятки Подесення», знову пройдуть спецномінації «Відео», «Єврейська спадщина», «Млини», «Пам'ятки національно-визвольної боротьби» та «Via Regia Ukraine». Для участі світлин у цих спецномінаціях не потрібно обирати нічого у Завантажувачі — світлини зараховуватимуться автоматично з відповідних списків.

Ви можете користуватися тими новими списками, що вже є, якщо потрібно відшукати пам'ятку за новим поділом (деякі ОДА вже почали присилати у такому форматі), але пам'ятайте, що нові списки ще не є повними.

Нагадуємо, що до 30 вересня включно можна вантажити світлини та відео культурної спадщини України до національного етапу міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки»!

Зараз Україна посідає 3-є місце за кількістю завантажених світлин, поступаючись Російській Федерації та Німеччині. За першу половину місяця було завантажено світлини пам'яток із усіх регіонів України, але частина із них є дуже погано представлена. Севастополь зараз представлений тільки однією пам'яткою і одним фото, Крим — 12 пам'яток і 51 фото. Детальніше — у таблиці:

Цього року у конкурсі є вісім спеціальних номінацій:

«Відео» — для відеосюжетів з пам'ятками;
«Єврейська спадщина» — для об'єктів із охоронним статусом, і без нього;

Вітаємо! Ви отримуєте це повідомлення, бо брали участь в українській частині міжнародного конкурсу «Вікі любить пам’ятки» у минулі роки. Зараз організаційна команда конкурсу вирішує, як проводити його під час повномасштабної війни в Україні.

Ми розуміємо, що цього року ми не зможемо провести конкурс у звичному форматі — зокрема тому, що фотографування об'єктів в Україні зараз ускладнене міркуваннями безпеки. Однак наша місія із документування української культурної спадщини є як ніколи важливою, тому розглядаємо варіанти, як можна провести конкурс у обмеженому форматі.

Цього року українська частина міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки» пройде з 1 по 31 жовтня — через російське вторгнення в Україну також довелося змінити умови: тільки світлини зроблені до 23 лютого 2022 року включно будуть прийматися в основній частині конкурсу.

В Україні цей конкурс пройде вже водинадцяте. На конкурс можна подавати власні фото пам'яток історико-культурної спадщини України — і змагатися за призи. Більше можна прочитати за посиланням.

5 днів Вікі любить пам'ятки 2022 в Україні / 5 days of Wiki Loves Monuments 2022 in Ukraine[edit]

Привіт!

Українська частина міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки» вже почалася — за 5 днів фотозмагання Україна вийшла на 12-е місце за кількістю світлин у світі. Не кількістю єдиною, звісно, але гарно було б не надто сильно відстати від російської частини конкурсу, і хоча б потрапити до почесних топ-5.

Цього року вперше у конкурсі є спеціальна номінація «Фотоплівка» — на неї можна подавати скани світлин, зроблених на фотоплівці — мова може йти й про скани самої фотоплівки і скани з віддрукованих знімків із неї. Ця спецномінація покликана мотивувати оцифровувати й ділитися своїми фотоархівами: частина об'єктів уже виглядає дуже відмінно, а частина — більше не існує… Враховуючи сучасну ситуацію із російським вторгненням і можливість потенційної втрати таких фотоархівів, ця спецномінація — актуальна. Врахуйте, що для того, щоб світлина потрапила на спецномінацію, потрібно вибрати відповідне поле у Завантажувачі.

Автори світлин маловідомих пам'яток України зможуть позмагатися за відзнаку від «Україна Інкогніта».

Також уже традиційно пройде спецномінація «Відео» — для участі робіт у цій спецномінації не потрібно обирати нічого у Завантажувачі — роботи зараховуватимуться автоматично з відповідних списків.

Трохи статистики за результатами чотирьох тижнів конкурсу:

завантажено понад 11000 світлин, які зображують майже 3700 об’єктів культурної спадщини;
- з них фотографії 180 пам'яток — вперше подані на конкурс;
понад 500 світлин подано у спецномінації «Фотоплівка»;
вже більше 220 учасників та учасниць;
- з них більше 130 — зареєструвалися вже під час конкурсу.

Найменш представлені регіони — Севастополь (1 фото), Донецька (19), Миколаївська (20), Кіровоградська (58), Крим (72), Херсонська (74) та Луганська (80). Конкурсні списки за регіонами можна переглянути тут: списки пам'яток.

Як на вашу думку правильно англійською «братська могила» та «вояків УПА» (УГА тощо) — Common grave чи Brotherly grave, UPA warriors, UIA warrior, soldiers of UPA чи UIA soldiers, бо тут наразі повний безлад у назвах.

Ми тут з жінкою (вона в мене добре знає англ. мову і любить словники) трохи пошарили і прийшли до думки що "Communal grave" найбільш підходить, не "Common", бо "Common" частіше стосується невпізнаних, невідомих людей. "Brotherly" це скоріше поетичний вислів. Щодо УПА: Енциклопедія Струка подає Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UIA) у багатьох гаслах/статтях, хоча по тексту багато є UPA. Щодо вояків - у більшості soldiers, не warriors, і не fighters. Є в мене книжечка The Ukrainian Insurgent Army, 2007 - видання Центру досліджень визвольного руху, там є вказана узгоджена позиція з амер. і канад. центрами/дослідними орг-ціями і т. ін, тобто текст вилизаний англоязичниками, там теж багато soldiers, UIA, хоча в тексті також трапляється UPA. Тому я б казав "Communal grave", "UIA soldiers". Що стосується назв памятників, монументів, меморіалів і т.ін., важко сказати - там можуть тяжіти іхні офіційні назви - кому вони присвячені - героям, чи жертвам, чи захисникам чи ще кому. Хоча часом коробить, коли енкаведисти в якомусь Щирці поховані на центральній площі як герої/жертви "націоналістів". Успіхів і перемоги в Новому році. Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 1 will end on 1 May 2023, 23:59:59 UTC.

«Вікі любить Землю» 2023 в Україні проходить з 1 по 31 липня[edit]

Доброго дня!

Ви брали участь у конкурсі «Вікі любить Землю» в Україні раніше, тож приносимо вам важливу новину — Вікі любить Землю повернувся! Цього року конкурс відбувається протягом липня.

Як і в попередні роки, долучитися до змагання можуть усі охочі — як професійні фотографи, так і аматори. Головне, щоб ви любили Землю і розділяли ідею конкурсу — представити природно-заповідні території України за допомогою світлин під вільними ліцензіями. У Вікіпедії та Вікісховищі конкурсні фото будуть доступні тисячам людей.

Загальний формат конкурсу такий же, як у минулі роки. Стежте за новинами проєкту у Facebook, Instagram або в блозі. Також ключова інформація буде з'являтися на сторінці у Вікісховищі.

Важливо! З міркувань національної безпеки та безпеки учасників і учасниць до участі у конкурсі допускаються тільки фото та відео, зроблені до 23 лютого 2022 року включно!

Рекомендуємо уважно ознайомитись з правилами конкурсу та звернути увагу на вимоги щодо якості фотографій. Цьогоріч мінімальна роздільна здатність фотографій, які приймаються на конкурс, становить 2 Мп.

Привіт! Сподіваємося, що у Вас та Ваших рідних усе максимально добре. Нагадуємо, що конкурс триває до 31 жовтня. За перший тиждень конкурсу в українській частині конкурсу завантажено понад 4000 фото, взяли участь майже 90 учасників.

Важливо! Через російське вторгнення в Україну також довелося змінити умови: тільки роботи зняті до 30 червня 2023 року включно будуть прийматися на конкурс. Єдиний виняток — спецномінація «Інтер'єри» можна подавати світлини без обмежень за датою створення.

Усі номінації та спецномінації перелічено тут (серед нових спецномінацій цього року: «Війна руйнує пам'ятки», «Елементи екстер'єру», «Інтер'єри» та «Німецька спадщина»).

Привіт! Сподіваємося, що у Вас та Ваших рідних усе максимально добре. Нагадуємо, що конкурс ще триває трохи більше тижня, до 31 жовтня, тож у Вас є ще можливість приєднатися.

У конкурсі є серйозне обмеження за часом створення фото- та відеоматерілів — тільки роботи зняті до 30 червня 2023 року включно приймаються. Однак, є виняток — спецномінація «Інтер'єри», де можна подавати файли, які зроблені й під час конкурсу. Також, якщо є, можна відсканувати світлини, зроблені плівковим фотоапаратом на спецномінацію «Фотоплівка». Усі номінації та спецномінації перелічено тут).

Також можна відсканувати власні світлини, зроблені плівковим фотоапаратом, на спецномінацію «Фотоплівка». Усі номінації та спецномінації перелічено тут).
