2014 – December–January – Bad weather

The first December challenge features Bad weather. Pick a day where you normally wouldn't go outside unless you really had to. Grab whatever camera you dare to take and head out to snap some pictures anyway. Raining cats and dogs? That's your day. Fog so thick you won't notice the difference between color and black&white? Bingo. Wind so strong your tripod would tip over? Guess you'll have to shoot handheld. Rules: Sky must be overcast (flat light), no "sun peaking through the clouds", no "glistening water droplets after the rain", no sunsets, no rainbows etc. Also no "long exposures of lightning in the distance at night", that's much too beautiful. This is about adjectives like ugly, cold and wet after all.

Ideally, each submission should contain a summary description of the subject in the file information, including the location of the subject, and relevant categories should be added to the files to enable other Commons users to find them and use them. Please take care not to violate copyright in respect of non-free creative works, and observe our educational project scope and the personality rights of identifiable people, or your files may be subject to deletion.

The challenge will remain open for submissions throughout December–January UTC.
