Dupe finding tool

Hello! I've found your tools on Toolselver and now I am playing with them - they are really useful :) Is it possible to add ru.wikipedia to your dupe finding tool? This will help us a lot because I have no idea how to find them in local wiki now rubin16 (talk) 20:04, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Have fun (you can change the language to whatever wiki you like). Multichill (talk) 22:28, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
Great :) I am really happy now :) rubin16 (talk) 12:05, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Hello once again :) One question about your tool - it shows 2 files Image:Archimedean spiral.png & Image:Цветочный киоск.JPG, but they are not duplicates. Is it a bug? rubin16 (talk) 16:34, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Any idea

Any idea why bots don't manage to move from Category:Wikipedia logos v2. --Foroa (talk) 08:33, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Has been copied by hand. Probably a flag in a template somewhere that says nobots. --Foroa (talk) 13:11, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Can you get a kick of {{Intersect categories}}. Thank you. --Foroa (talk) 09:27, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Nowcommons the dupes

Hi. Is it possible for you to add the language Malayalam (language code: ml) in your Nowcommons the dupes tool? It will indeed be a great help. Thanks. --Sreejith K (talk) 20:48, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

It will be nice if you can add lang-ml in commonscat tool as well. Thanks. --Sreejith K (talk) 03:24, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

East Nusa Tenggara vs West Timor

Hi Djoehana, could you review the edits like this one? I'm not sure these edits are correct. We're using a layered structure and I'm not sure if I'm happy with another layer here. Multichill (talk) 16:17, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Hello Multichill, and Happy New Year of the Rabbit! West Timor may exist as a geographical notion. But if we talk of "regencies", then we are taking an administrative perspective, so in my view, the relevant reference is the province i. e. East Nusa Tenggara. I hope this answers your question (and sounds convincing to you), Humboldt (talk) 17:23, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
Not sure what is going on here - WP en has at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kupang It is surrounded by (but is separate from) the regency of Kupang, so IMHo perhaps the edit is wrong on two counts SatuSuro (talk) 05:57, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Uncategorized-Geograph

You reverted my edit to Template:Uncategorized-Geograph saying "You don't need to edit this template". Um... yes, I'm wondering why I made that edit in the first place, now that I look back at it. [g] Would it be possible for your bot to create categories such as Category:Images from the Geograph British Isles project needing categories as of 7 February 2011 and Category:Images from the Geograph British Isles project needing categories in grid TM1923 as necessary (making them subcats of Category:Images from the Geograph British Isles project needing categories by date and Category:Images from the Geograph British Isles project needing categories by grid square, respectively), as it creates the File: pages for the images? Alternatively, another bot can go through Special:WantedCategories and create the relevant missing cats. The auto-creation of the "grid" subcats, in particular, would avoid a massive amount of human effort, which I naively began to expend earlier today, unaware that the scope of the task was still quickly expanding. - dcljr (talk) 08:28, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

WLM Catalonia

Hi. I've seen you have moved that page to WLM in Catalonia, but its proposal isn't a contest in Catalonia. It's a contest in the territories where people speak Catalan, so the title is wrong. Millars (talk) 23:22, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Grote schoonmaak

Hallo,

Allemaal eraf gooien a.u.b.! Ik weet het: het is richelreus, maar als we opnieuw willen beginnen, moeten we ook écht opnieuw beginnen!

Translatewiki for artwork template

Multichill, have you asked for translations for template:artwork at translatewiki ? The template is stable now (at least the labels). I am willing to do it myself but don't know how it should be done.--Zolo (talk) 07:38, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

Multichill (talk) 18:21, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Using pic file of King Ludwig commercially

Hi, Would I be allowed to use the file on http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Koning_ludwig_II_van_beieren.jpg commercially? Can I make changes to the picture and use it commercially? Thanks a lot, Ujuna (talk) 13:52, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: See Commons:Licensing for details. Multichill (talk) 18:17, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Hello Multichill, you protected this userpage of mine because it was edited by User:Vogelartinfo (aka Chris Romeiks). However, I created this page for him in order to license his pictures in the way it suits him (with compliance to our license policies, of course). He is new to Wikipedia and Commons, I am his Mentor at the German language edition. I explicitly allowed him to alter this license subpage; license combinations which are not allowed on commons will be reverted by me. It would therefore like to ask you whether you could unprotect the page for him. Best wishes, Toter Alter Mann (talk) 23:31, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

This is an awful license template and this is not a even a free license. Please just have him use {{|self|cc-by-sa-3.0-de|author=[[User:Vogelartinfo|Chris Romeiks]]}} instead of these custom brew templates. Multichill (talk) 08:23, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Reverting crops

Only bunnies are allowed to hop here :-)

Because the Deutsches Bundesarchiv (German Federal Archive) has donated these images and as far as I am aware of the agreement between Wikimedia Germany and Bundesarchiv nothing must be changed about the images! neither the images itself as uploaded nor their description, even if the description is originally from an Nazi Propaganda unit. Now to crop the images and remove the Bundesarchiv name, the inventory number, the year the photo was taken and also the photographers name... I am pretty sure that the Bundesarchiv will objects, if it would be aware, that some user came along and removed their watermarks randomly from some photos! After all this was the biggest photo donation to wiki commons and a special license was agreed upon for the use with the Bundesarchiv photos. (see also: Commons:Bundesarchiv) Noclador (talk) 09:38, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Bot malfunction

Hi, Multichill. Please see this and this (and many others). Will block the bot temporarily in good faith now... Rehman 14:23, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

That's not a mallfunction, check again. Multichill (talk) 14:24, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
Or this? (the page was already categorized) Rehman 14:26, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
Dammit, look more careful, these templates are not categorized. Multichill (talk) 14:27, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
Hmm, okay. But templates these shouldn't be categorized anyway, and function as "sub-templates"... Am sure there's more such cases... Rehman 14:30, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
All templates, except pre-loading templates, should be categorized. I expect an unblock and a mea culpa now. Multichill (talk) 14:31, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
Unblocked (before the above post) and many mea culpas :) Sorry again, did it with good intentions (the bot flooded my watchlist with what seem to be categorized pages, with "uncategorized". Thus panicked, I guess). Rehman 14:34, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
But you failed miserably. What a kind of nonsense is "Issues are being dealt with"? There are no issues, the only issue there is is an admin who doesn't understand how to use his tools.
If your watchlist is flooded that means you caused most of this mess in the first place, you'd better start categorizing your creations. Multichill (talk) 14:40, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

(Edit conflict) But I do still have one question. Assuming I would like to help out by responding to the "uncategorised" tags, how do I categorize a template like Template:Emoticon/9? The template is not a "stand-alone" template; rather works for Template:Emoticon. The categorizations should basically done at Template:Emoticon/doc... Rehman 14:44, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Like this. Multichill (talk) 14:49, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
But that would just flood Category:Emoticon templates with templates that really couldn't be used alone... Rehman 14:52, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
All the subtemplates is a bit too much. I flattened {{Emoticon}}. Subtemplates can be deleted now. Multichill (talk) 14:58, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
Not sure if it's still the case, but some of those "Template:Emoticon/#" templates were moved from things like "Template:Happy smile" or whatever. So moving all of them to one page basically breaks the redirects and the places the templates were used... Rehman 15:01, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
Not sure? Check at Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Emoticon/1 (unused). Multichill (talk) 15:05, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Deletion of "dudeism"

Hello Multichill, I am a newbe and created a term "dudeism" which is a religion. "SemperBlotto", I feel, did not properly research it and his "own opinion" deleted it for the reason of that it was "stupid". After I creating it, I tried to capitalize it but couldn't. So in way I'm glat that is deleted so I can start over. Dudeism is real. Check out the movie "Big Lebowski" with Jeff Bridges as the "The Dude". A religion was formed in America back in 2005 and has over 80,000 members. It fact the term "Dudeism" is on Wikipedia. I checked out SemperBlotto's page and it seems he has done this before. In his bio, he seems like he is a cool Dude himself but after this, I'm not sure. I hope you are a Dude and with the name Multichill, I'm sure:) Please check out the situation so I continue to contribute. Thank You. User: urbanhistorian/Julius George, Easton, Maryland,U.S.A.
