Dear member of the Commons Photographers User Group,

I wish you a Happy New Year! As it has been our tradition at the beginning of the new year for a while, we're sharing our most memorable shots of the past year with each other. I invite you to share a picture that is particular meaningful to you and to describe why that's the case. Also, as Wikimania 2023 will be here before we know it (August 16 to 19), please consider adding your thoughts on our planning page, where we gather ideas for how we can make Commons photography more visible than in the years before.

Norwegian polling graph update and alteration/axis extension

Graph update and axis extension.
Can you please update this polling graph using the latest polls on the English Wikipedia page above so it is up to date, including the 30-day averages bar charts? Can you also please extend the Y percentage axis to 40% as the Conservative Party (H) have polled over the current maximum of 30% on the graph and gone above 35% in a poll to 35.6%. Hi @Helper201, thanks for reaching out. I am not very sure if I will able to update as the graph looks complex, but let me give it try. I will probably need to play around with the underlying XML. Commons photographers: next virtual meeting on August 5

Dear member of the Commons Photographers User Group,

I'm inviting you to our next virtual meeting on Saturday, August 5th. We'll have two speakers: Poco a poco will provide us with an update on his underwater photography and George Oates from the Flickr Foundation will talk about the Flickr-to-Commons bridge (“Flickypedia”) that is currently in the works. It's Wiki Loves Monuments time again!

Hello KCVelaga/Archive/2023!

We are excited again to let you know that, Wiki Loves Monuments, the largest photography competition of the world, will take place for the 14th time this year. And guess what! India is going to participate in the event again this year from September 1 to September 30, 2023. You might remember this competition as you had participated in one of its previous editions. We would be very delighted to see you take part in the competition again, help record and digitally document our monuments for future generations and get a chance to win exciting prizes!!!

Commons Photographers User Group: Board Elections 2023

Dear member of the Commons Photographers User Group,

in preparation of the 2023 board election of our group, we invite you to take a look at the following page:

The timeline for the 2023 election will be

  • September 15 – September 30: Applications for the election committee
  • October 1 – October 9: Vote for election committee (ideally comprised of three members)
  • October 10: Election committee starts work
  • October 20 – November 9: Nomination phase for candidacies
  • November 10 – December 10: Elections
  • December 15: Results announced

In the first step we ask you to be part of the election committe. Please add your name on the Election Page.

We are very much looking forward to hearing from you. Please use this talk page for your thoughts.

Organizer Tools Office Hours & Event Discovery Project

The Campaigns team at the Wikimedia Foundation has some updates to share with you, which are:

We invite you to attend our upcoming community office hours to learn about organizer tools, including the Event registration tool (which has new and upcoming features). The office hours are on the following dates, and you can join one or both of them:

  • Saturday, October 7 at 12:00 UTC (Register here)
    • Languages available: Arabic, English, French, Swahili
  • Tuesday, October 10 at 18:00 UTC (Register here).
    • Languages available: Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Swahili

We have launched a new project: Event Discovery. This project aims to make it easier for editors to learn about campaign events. We need your help to understand how you would like to discover events on the wikis, so that we can create a useful solution. Please share your feedback on our project talk page.
