Dear JuTa, please restore:

The lag in the french permission queue is about 100 tickets and 100 days; I guess about 2/3 of them will lead to restauration of images. I hope I am not getting too much on your nerves with this. Can we work through this together, chunk by chunk?

Thanks. I finalized the seven above. For the last one, the creator of the collage wants to license it under Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal, yet the individual components are licensed under cc-by-sa in different versions, e.g. 2.5 and 4.0. Is that feasable?

Undeletion request

Hi, you deleleted these files on 2020-11-09. If I undestood correctly these were deleted because there was no information of the original files in Wikimedia Commons description file. Content of the photo and videos were selected so that they were freely licenced or under public domain by age OR they were created by uploader User:Aprom (ie photographing, photo editing and recording video etc.) as part of the m:Helsinki rephotography project. Anyway, after undeleting I or Aprom will update the missing information and fill the OTRS-permit if you think OTRS is required too.

I want to make NoFoP-Saudi Arabia Template.

After seeing NoFoP-South Korea, NoFoP-France, NoFoP-Italy and NoFoP-UAE, I wanted to make NoFoP-Saudi Arabia.

However, this structure of template is very complex, and it is difficult for me to make.

Please make an NoFoP-Saudi Arabia Template. Once created, I will do the translation.

DPLA duplicates

Hi JuTa, I'm hoping we can work together on the issue you are having with the duplicates from the DPLA bot. Let's start a fresh thread!

I will just note first that it is very difficult for me to investigate this, especially as I don't have admin privileges on Commons. Your process involves deleting the edit histories without alerting the uploader, and I also don't see any notifications or have a log to check for when you delete a file from my bot, so I don't have much visibility into what has been going on currently. The reason I need to investigate further is I don't believe any of these are bot "errors", per se. That is, the bot is uploading the correct file with the correct metadata according to the source institution. So the problem lies not in the bot code, but either the source institution has some error in its data, or possibly the duplication is caused by a Wikimedian uploading from their catalog before we did, or maybe there is some valid reason for a duplicate.

I am also noticing some concerns in the approach you are taking to resolve the perceived problem. For example, for this file, I uploaded the authoritative version from the institution that digitized and cataloged this image, and you deleted the version with the official metadata to redirect it to one uploaded by another editor which lacked some of the basic information. I believe the DPLA upload should not be deleted in this case, but the merge can be done in the other direction. In other cases, such as this one, it appears you may have found a data error in the US National Archives catalog, where a same image was uploaded to the wrong catalog record. But by simply deleting them without allowing us to notify the institution and get the data corrected on the provider's end, the bot might simply upload this again some day, seeing it as a missing item. And it doesn't appear you've made any determination as to which image was actually the correct match for the metadata, and so now wee still left with what appears to be data error as the remaining non-deleted instance of this file, since the description does not match the text on the page.

The bot has completed its current batch, but in the future can you alert me to issues you are seeing so we can try to figure out what has happened? DPLA is currently engaged in the larges content donation to Wikimedia Commons ever. We uploaded over half a million files in the last 2 weeks, so I acknowledge you saw some increase in duplicates reported, but I actually gratified to see we were able to pull off such a large upload with such a small error rate, relative to the total batch size. Hi Dominic, well there are 2 different types of cases:
1) someone else auploaded an identical images often years or more ago mostly from differnet sources like other USGov sites or flickr. In this case I kept the older copy.
2) you uploaded the same image with different names from DPLA. This is likely caused by DPLA itself, they have the same image mutiple times in their database under different titles.
What I could offer. When I work on duplicates in future I can copy over the complete Bot-up-load-text to the older file description page. Then you get a chance to investigate the cases further. Up to now I didnt saw any information in it worth to keep, the EXIF are mostly identical to what was noted in the {{DPLA}} template. The dpla_id you can see in the filenames of the left redirects.
You can also check reguarly Special:ListDuplicatedFiles during your batch uploads, it gets uploaded every 3 days in the morning hours UTC. You can include the code of User:JuTa/monobook.css to your personel css file and when you then check the Bots uploads you should see any redirects in yellow or what ever color you like.

Categorization

Hi. You make Category:Van Aalst (surname) a subcat ot of Category:Aalst (surname). This is incomprehensible (at least to me, whom a sockpuppeteer recently impersonated as User:Stupid E4024 :). Trying to correct the categorization, probably I made another mistake in moving. Maybe as an admin you can correct things here; but please do not make "a surname subcat of another surname". You did not fix it. You repeated the previous categorization mistake. Remember, we have a rule: Cat-subcat etc. Both cats cannot be a subcat of Category:Surnames, while one of them is a subcat of the other. --E4024 (talk) 15:45, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
Thats the case for every subcat in any subcat of Category:Surname particles. They are in different areas of Category:Names. Institution deleted

Hi Juta,

I realized that you deleted the Institution: template page for Amaiur Arkeologia Zentroa at 00:45, 30 December 2020, but I was left guessing as to the reason, G1: Test page, accidental creation, or page containing nonsense or no valid content (???). What does that mean really? It is a museum institution. Nothing to do with G1 really, and no test, although there was a red link, which I guess meant that I had to create a page for that institution.

As far as I know, the OTRS procedure is ongoing. Raymond Lo has been communicating with OTRS via emails. Several days ago, he has provided some photos of his camera and lens showing the serial number and model number. It takes some time for the verification process. Regards! Duplicated Photos

Hi Juta

last month you redirected photos from pikiwikisrael due for duplication

when a photo is redirected it dissapears from pikiwiki database because the pointer in the photo page still points to the old photo and it loses the photo.

Can I do this search for duplicated photos myself? or can you give me a notice when it happens?

I don't remember creating the category Galveston's 61 Street Fishing Pier.jpg but you were right to delete it. I don't know how to delete categories. I created the Category:Walking the Cow at someone's request, then they decided not to use it. So, since you can delete categories please delete it. Greenlandic audio

Hi there, thanks for your message. I am very new to Commons procedure so I apologise if I did not correctly explain, or did not follow a rule in uploading those audio files. I am certain they are copyright free but it was rather overwhelming trying to figure out how to show it.

So these files, and any more that will possibly come, are from the website oqaasileriffik, which is an independent branch of the Greenlandic government. There is a function on there called Martha, to generate AI audio of any Greenlandic words. This software is free and available in other places other than oqaasileriffik.

I was unsure at first of whether it was copyrighted so I emailed the secretariat first before uploading, and they said it could be used however anyone wishes, and even suggested bulk processing using Docker. I will attach our email conversation via imgur here.

So in conclusion these files are not generated by a human, but are AI voices generated by opensource, free software. Every file comes as an .mp3 and I have been coverting them to .ogg. I hope this helps. Jakeybean (talk) 10:34, 2 January 2021 (UTC)

Ossoff photos deletion

Hi. There are two files -- File:Senator Jon Ossoff.png and a higher-res copy File:Jon Ossoff Senate photo.jpg -- that keep getting put on the page for Jon Ossoff on Wikipedia. It is clearly the same photo as the one at this article. Could you please delete the two? Would save a lot of energy on reverting if you could do this quickly. Tutto ciò che si vede nel gif, tanto la cornice grigia con dati numerici, che la zona verde dove compaiono le immagini gialle in movimento sono state programmate in visual basic, dove è stato implementato il mio software sviluppato in tale ambiente. Ci si può sincerare del fatto visionando all'indirizzo: http://www.sonar-info.info/P31/31pagina.html tre routine di calcolo diverse, in file exe, redatte in modo analogo a quelle impiegate per la gif in questione che riportano la stessa cornice grigia e la zona verde con le immagini gialle in movimento. Questo lavoro, presente sul mio sito dal 2012, è parte di un mio studio sul sonar.

Posso quindi concludere che tutto ciò che appare nel gif è opera mia, ottenuta tramite Visul Basic, portata in tale forma tramite programma di cattura disponibile in rete.

Faccio inoltre presente che tutte le figure pubblicate da funzioni di correlazione sono state copiate dal mio sito http://www.sonar-info.info/ di mia esclusiva proprietà, il sito, come potrete vedere non ha fini di lucro.
