File:Imbissstand in Hamburg.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Hey JuTa, I would recommend you don't delete this image. Like a week ago Wikimedia Foundation sent us an e-mail to thank all who donated to wiki, in that e-mail comes attached a video in which Jimmy Wales makes an appearance himself, talking proudly about how knowledge or/and Wikipedia can reach the most remotes places in the world, like Palestina, a small village in the jungle of Peru, and how easy is to create an article in Wikipedia. In the video you could see kids from Palestina in a classroom surfing the internet with their little laptops and finding out there was no information about their village and decided to create an article about it in Wikipedia, guided by their tutor, Michael Kleiman. That was awesome! to see those little kids editing themselves and feeling proud and amazed when doing so. One of the kids says "that's the picture we took" referring to the picture you intend to delete. I know you are helping in keeping Wikipedia in good terms, and your help is much appreciated, but I don't think these kids know much about the rules and ways nor Michael Kleiman. I think Kleiman registered to make this article only, so it will probably be hard to contact him to help providing more information about this image, which is required, I know. So I am asking you to wait so we can fix this issue. I think if you watch the video you will get some of your questions answered. Name of the video in YouTube: Children of Peru write their own history in Wikipedia. Thanks. --Cefaro (talk) 04:15, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

I guess you shooted the photo yourself. In this case all you need to do is to choose a free license and put the corresponding template onto the description page of the image. A list of such licenses you'll find i.e. here regads. --JuTa 06:55, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

Images from The Other Side of the Sun

Hi, I see that you have deleted File:The_Hundredth_Princess.png. The image is out of copyright. What is the best way to reinstate the image - can you undo your edit, or does the image have to be re-uploaded? If it did not have copyright information appended to it, I will make sure that it does when it goes back up in wikicommons SeMelmoth (talk) 17:20, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Hmm, you named Percey Dearmer as the author. This is not en:Percy Dearmer, isn't it? Do you know when he died? Normaly works stays protected 70 years after the author death. As soon I will get a good evidence that this work is allready out of copyright I will undelete it. regards. --JuTa 18:10, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

File:Camp Kinser Red Hat Demo.jpg

Hi, please restore these deleted photo. The photo is the work of the US government. A photo copy of the is held within the Okinawan Prefectual Archives with open copyright and originals are in the US national Archives. I believe that the photos and where it came from are sufficiently described with a link and I had assumed that the license information was included correctly. Can you restore the photo as it is critical to the Operation red hat article and a DoD press event is happening today and inform me of what is missing and how to avoid this issue in the future.

Thank you,Johnvr4 (talk) 15:11, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I didn't know what kind of license should I select adding a picture. The website of the group, where it come from http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/thehappyhoof/ and to which group I belong also, has no copyrights, description of the group: "This group is for hoof research, teaching and sharing of corrective and maintenance hoof trimming, as described and taught by Linda Harris on her youtube channel The Happy Hoof at http://www.youtube.com/user/thehappyhoof?feature=mhee There are NO COPY RIGHTS on any material posted here. People are welcome to copy, paste, plagerize, misunderstand and take anything out of context you wish, if that's the kind of person you are. It will all come out in the wash(...)". So I am sure this picure can stay on wikimedia commons, but not sure, what kind of license it is... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Visenna9 (talk • contribs) 2013-03-11T19:47:38‎ (UTC)

I cant access the source webpage: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thehappyhoof/photos/album/261803100/pic/520205963/view?picmode=&mode=tn&order=ordinal&start=1&count=20&dir=asc. But in general every webpage is protected by copyright until otherwise stated. If you cannot find any sign of a free license you cannot use the image. sorry. --JuTa 19:54, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

Yes, on this site it is stated that there are no copyrights for it, as I copied above. Sorry, I forgot that the site is only available for signed users. So what knd of license should I choose from the list when adding a picture if the situation is like this? I'm sure that it's free and there are no copyrights, I can copy all the regulations written on the main site there, where it's stated, would it be enough? (Visenna9 (talk) 09:28, 18 March 2013 (UTC))

Sorry, I cant find statmnt that the content is free. http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/thehappyhoof/ states all rights reserved and http://www.youtube.com/user/thehappyhoof?feature=mhee states nothing. Maybe if the copyright holder (the fotografer) snds an email to our so called OTRS-Team the file might get undeleted. For details see COM:OTRS. regards. --JuTa 17:04, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

ok, thank You for checking. Too much trouble, so I'll use another photo, this time my own, but first I wanted to add this one, because it was better. (Visenna9 (talk) 06:34, 19 March 2013 (UTC))

Thanks for the note JuTa

these two files are part of a press release by the publisher, i am one of the editors there but couldnT find the right box to check in the upload. please do not remove, i checked with the publisher and the authors. Can you please help to get this in order? Thanks! DannyMacY (talk) 19:52, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

Well, the copyright holder(s) should send an email to the so called OTRS-Team specifying under which free license they wish to release the images. For details see COM:OTRS. regards --JuTa 02:09, 20 March 2013 (UTC)

Babirusa image tagged, but Upload Wizard must have malfunctioned...

Hi JuTa, thanks for the dire warning. I've tagged the image (an 1869 publication being pretty safe territory...) but as I uploaded it with the Upload Wizard, it must have malfunctioned for some reason (temp. glitch or new coding error, I've no idea). It has always worked well up to now. Chiswick Chap (talk) 10:43, 20 March 2013 (UTC)

Top Race Original

OK. I wasn't sure about the domain of that image, since it appears on the internet, but there is no detail regarding to the domain or to the owner of that image. But there are no problems, you did well to delete it. However, I found among my files, another photo taken by me, to which I would like to raise if it is that you can with the same name, as well as an edited version. Do you think? Best regards!

--Diego HC (talk) 04:16, 25 March 2013 (UTC)

What was the reason for deleting? Unknown author, 83 years old image. --Florentyna (talk) 19:59, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

That was the reason. The author hould only have lived for more 13 years and the image is not PD. Compare i.e. COM:PRP. regards. --JuTa 20:01, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Barranco del draguillo.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Someone could explain it? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mololo (talk • contribs) 2013-03-25T21:00:30‎ (UTC)

Hi, there is currently no spanish verion of {{Image license}}. The problem was that there was just no licensing on th image description page - see Commons:Licensing or in spanish Commons:Sobre las licencias. The other problem was that ou didn't made the photo yourself, so the photografer would need to send a permission mail to the Commons-Support-Team, see Commons:OTRS or in spanish Commons:OTRS/es. regards. --JuTa 17:36, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for the answer but, thats not the question. The problem is how is posible it doesn't exist a spanish {{Image license}} version? How could i make it? Thanks. --Mololo (talk) 14:26, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
Ahh I see. Thats a bit complicated. First ou have to create Template:Image license/es and Template:Image license/heading/es. Compere that with i.e. Template:Image license/en and Template:Image license/heading/en. After that you have to update Template:Image license/lang. All pages for this template in various languages you find here. regards. --JuTa 17:34, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

Can you give me more information on why you decided that this file was in violation and removed? It is from a medical presentation over 150 years old, so it's copyrights have expired if they ever existed. I am frustrated that you wouldn't open a dialogue with me before making rash deletions. The file was missing a copyright tag, denoting its copyright status. All files uploaded to Commons must have a copyright tag, otherwise they will be deleted. You also wrote as "Date" 22. March 2013, which seems not to be correct in this case. You're welcome to re-upload the file, but be sure to include a copyright tag and correct date. --JuTa 09:07, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

I do not understand the problem. Please explain. I assume the j.peg in question refers to a photograph I submitted for the file Ernest Frank Richardson, (1871-1951) Chief Constable of Salisbury Wiltshire. As I have stated, he was my grandfather. This photograph is of many which are part of our "Family Archives." This photograph is a 'family ' photograph, and as the grandson and the inherited owner of the photograph, (and other ducuments etc.) I also own the copyright for what it is, as it is now 108 years old. TimothyWF (talk) 19:16, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

Well, if the image was created by you grantfather you might use the template {{Heirs-license}}. But for me it looks like the image is showing your grantfather fotografed by an unnamed fotografer. Owning an image dos not mean owning the copyright of it. Because of the age of the image the copyright might have been expired allready. But it would be good to know the name and livespan of the fotografer to detrnime if he/she dies before 1942. regards. --JuTa 19:27, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

Thank you. I have added the licence information. Scotire (talk) 04:44, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Danke

LG--KarlV (talk) 14:34, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

In Reference to the image you declared a copyvio

Hi,

That image is a scan from a publication dating 1835, I provided the reference to the original source in the upload. As it predates the 1923 limit by some 80 years it is no longer protected by copywrite. It can be used by anyone. There are many other examples of older works like this being used on WP. Apart from what I already did what do you need?

Cheers Faendalimas (talk) 15:15, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

The file was missing a copyright tag, denoting its copyright status. All files uploaded to Commons must have a copyright tag, otherwise they will be deleted. You also wrote as "Date" 4. April 2013, which seems not to be correct in this case. I will correct this now. But please next time pls try todo that yourself. regards --JuTa 09:07, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for your assistance. Cheers Faendalimas (talk) 22:38, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

See meta:OTRS/Volunteering. But you have to be an expirienced Commons-user, I don't see a big chance for you. --JuTa 09:03, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

— Preceding unsigned comment added by Uwca (talk • contribs) 2013-04-08T20:59:48‎ (UTC)

MfG, Annaluka (talk) 14:03, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

According to the description the file was made by Patricia Dionisi. So how do we know that User UNLP is Patricia Dionisi? In Spanish Wikipedia the User was blocked because he used the name of an university. --Mister Deletion (talk) 11:17, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
