Categoria:Cabo Carvoeiro

Category discussion warning

Aqueduto de Pontes has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category.

In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

Removal of uploader credit

Hello, you are being contacted as a user who has previously [or currently] included "* Uploaded by Example" in your file uploads. A bot task has been approved to remove this specific phrase from files because it can be misleading when attempting to attribute the file creator. As an alternative, RileyBot is willing to tag your uploads with a user category instead. Please respond stating if you opt-in and if you have any specific requests (addition of user category, etc); if there is no response within two weeks, consent will be implied. Please note, this message has been left by an automated bot, however, a user will be tracking your response. RileyBot (talk) 01:12, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

Incêndio do Presépio Cavalinho

Hi - you created this new category. Don't you think it is appropriate to name it "with sword" (singular instead of plural)? -- MaxxL - talk 16:39, 11 August 2016 (UTC)

@MaxxL: Hi, I have not formed an opinion on the subject (I did not create the category), but the parents categories have "swords" in the title: Category:Lions rampant with swords and Category:Lions with swords, so it's up to you to propose de change, --JotaCartas (talk) 18:42, 12 August 2016 (UTC)

Paintings by painter by name

Hello JotaCartas. I noticed that you the metacat template to several categories such as Category:Paintings by Rembrandt by name. These categories are not meta categories. The reason is that they do not contain subcategories for things that have the same name. For comparison, look at Category:Hotels by name: the subcategories there are for hotels with the same name (for example, Category:Hotels named Ambassador). I know this is confusing, because "by name" can mean either "grouped by name" (the use meant when we have a metacategory) or simply that the name is specified. Please be careful when adding the metacat template to any categories, and don't add it when the category contains subcategories for individual named things. Thanks! --Auntof6 (talk) 23:51, 12 August 2016 (UTC)

I forgot to mention one other thing. When we have a category like these, it is usually named "by name" instead of "by title". Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 23:59, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
@Auntof6: Hi Auntof6. OK, I have stoped. I think that you have reverted all my editions, but if not I can do it myself. Thanks. --JotaCartas (talk) 00:44, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

Your last moves of heraldic divisions to diagrams

Hi there - sadly you moved those images. I do not understand the reason. Could you pls explain the rational a bit. -- MaxxL - talk 11:30, 28 August 2016 (UTC)

@MaxxL: Hi, Many diagrams were spread out in Heraldic categories. I just collect (for now) all the diagrams in Category:Heraldic diagrams, and I intend to create a sub-category "Category:Diagrams of heraldic divisions" and put it in Category:Heraldic diagrams and also in Category:Heraldic divisions; i think that it is OK --JotaCartas (talk) 11:42, 28 August 2016 (UTC)

Hi JotaCartas, I am a bored bot (this is kind of a computer program) that is watching the recent changes and tapping buttons like I did now.

Curious about the reason? Possibly not but I will tell you anyway:

  1. You edited User:JotaCartas/common.js. Glad to see you coding in javascript! Have you ever considered becoming a MediaWiki hacker?
  2. Though, that change appears to introduce 1 new jshint issue — the page's status is now having warnings. Note that invalid or ambiguous code often has unwanted side effects like breaking other tools for you. If you cannot find out how to fix it, I suggest blanking the page for now.
  3. To help you understanding where the issues are, I have aggregated a report here and now. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask users experienced in javascript writing for help. But do not ask the bot's operators (chronically overwrought) unless you suspect an error of mine. If you prefer not getting spammed by me, you can opt-out reports by adding {{ValidationOptOut|type=all}} to your user page or cmb-opt-out anywhere on your your global user page on Meta. Good luck at Wikimedia Commons and happy hacking!

Coats of arms of Terrassa

Hi! I removed the category Castle of Castile in civic heraldry of Spain because this castle is not the castle of Castile. Towns and villages in Catalonia, Aragon, Valencia or the Balearic Islands never belonged to Kingdom of Castile. This castle is only a representation of the castle of the town. --Enfo (talk) 07:11, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

--Enfo (talk) 07:22, 5 October 2016 (UTC)

Obrigado

You are doing a rather extensive work with the categories of coats of arms of Spain. Hats off to you!!--Asqueladd (talk) 18:50, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

I apologize. AFAIK, the CoA of Transylvania contain a raven, not a black eagle, but i see, the definition is "a black eagle". Ok, "3 eagles". :) --Turbojet (talk) 08:54, 10 October 2016 (UTC)

@Turbojet: , Your first reversion on File:Coat of arms of Romania.svg was correct. There are only 2 different eagles inside the shield (the third is a supporter and should not be counted). I used for reference the article in en.Wikipedia, en:Coat_of_arms_of_Romania, where it says that the bird in the IV quarter is an eagle — "... IV, Per fess Azure and Or, a bar Gules issuant there from an eagle displayed between in sinister chief a decrescent Argent and in dexter chief a sun in splendour Or; in base seven castles Gules (for Transylvania); ..." — so, I think that now it is all OK. thanks --JotaCartas (talk) 09:11, 10 October 2016 (UTC)
P.S. Anyway, if you or someone else says that the "bird" is indeed a "raven", I will accept that gladly. thanks again --JotaCartas (talk) 09:26, 10 October 2016 (UTC)
Thank you, I'm not familiar with heraldry. But the Transylvanian eagle is a novelty. :P The bird come from CoA of en:John Hunyadi. In Romanian "Ioan Corvin (Corb) de Hunedoara". Corb = raven. Well, today is an eagle... The members of Romanian Parliament know very well the Transylvanian history. :) --Turbojet (talk) 09:37, 10 October 2016 (UTC)
@Turbojet: Hi again, I am also not an expert in heraldry. What I am doing in Commons is mainly categorizing based on colors and forms of the images (not based on an effectively knowledge of heraldry). So ... may be you are right, and is indeed a "raven", and we should try to change that in en.wikipedia and others (the wp.romanian, I am not able to read ... hehe). By the way, if you go to the article about "John Hunyadi" in pt.wikipedia, you find that the name in portuguese is João Corvino — João=John=Ioan and Corvino comes from "corvo" which is the portuguese word for "raven" — so ... indeed you may be right and I will try to search more about the matter and will consider changing everything in commons. --JotaCartas (talk) 10:23, 10 October 2016 (UTC)

vilené in heraldry

attention "vilené in heraldry" c'est pour le sexe de couleur différente. la categorie "Male genitalia in heraldry" est pour moi une grosse bêtise. a+ --Chatsam (talk) 18:52, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

@Chatsam: - OK, compris. Merci et désolé pour le travail que je vous ai donné. - JotaCartas (talk) 01:48, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
