Why are you adding {{Check categories}} to lot's of images like for example this edit? The categories you add are all good. The template was created to keep track of images which were categorized by bots. Multichill (talk) 11:04, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

- Mir ist auch noch eine Kategorie aufgefallen: Category:Crystal structures - dort sind Crystal systems enthalten; diese Kategorie existiert nur als Weiterleitung; auf einer Disk.-seite wurde das schon 2007 (?) angesprochen - ohne Erfolg; nur hat User:Saperaud auch Galerie-Seiten zu Crystal systems unter Crystal structures angelegt; ein einziges Wirrwarr. In Category:Media needing categories... sind auch noch Dutzende.

- Den ersten Punkt kann ich schlecht beurteilen, da ich mich damit nur bedingt auskenne. Du darfst die Category:Crystal systems natürlich anlegen, wenn diese für einen Teil der Bilder in Category:Crystal structures passender ist. Wenn du magst, kannst du mithelfen, brauchbare Bilder aus Kategorie:Datei:Chemie nach Commons zu transferieren. Mit dem Move-to-commons-Assistent geht der (lizenzkonforme) Transfer ja schnell und einfach. Die korrekte Kategorisierung ist dann schon etwas schwieriger – jedenfalls für mich. --Leyo 16:44, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Tip: Categorizing images[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]][[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Nimm dir bitte einen Moment Zeit, um dir die Seite Commons:Administratoren und die in Verbindung mit der Beobachtungsliste stehenden Seiten durchzulesen (insbesondere Commons:Administrators' noticeboard und Commons:Deletion requests), bevor du damit beginnst, Seitenlöschungen, Accountsperrungen oder Änderungen am Seitenschutzstatus bzw. an den geschützten Seiten selbst durchzuführen. - Recht herzlichen Dank für Euer Vertrauen und Eure Stimmen. Auch wenn die Abstimmung nicht erfolgreich gewesen wäre, hätte ich volles Verständnis (kann kaum Englisch; zu wenig im Meta-Bereich aktiv; macht nur stupide Änderungen, …) und wäre weiterhin ebenso aktiv. Mir ist schon seit geraumer Zeit das Missverhältnis zwischen den Dingen, die auf commons erledigt werden müssen und denjenigen, die es machen können, aufgefallen. Ich würde mir wünschen, dass Ihr, und ich ebenso, auch andere „hard-worker“ dazu anschuppst und sie mit diesen Rechten auszeichnet, um sie an das Projekt zu binden. Ansonsten kann ich Euch beruhigen: Wenn ich in einem Bereich zu sehr genervt bin, gehe ich irgendwo anders hin, lese ein Buch, erstelle Wörterbucheinträge oder korrigiere Tippfehler. Hallo, ich habe gesehen, dass du das oben bezeichnete Bild auf diesen Titel statt File:062R02021179 Hauptwerkstätte Simmering, Schlachtgleis, Typ KH 6965 02.11.1979.jpg verschoben hast. Ich habe an sich nichts dagegen, dass das Datum nicht mehr extra im Dateinamen steht - aber war es wirklich nötig, den "Identifier" am Anfang zu entfernen? Der kann nämlich sehr hilfreich für mich sein, wenn ich überprüfen will, ob ein bestimmtes Bild aus der TARS631-Sammlung schon hochgeladen wurde. Hallo Hystrix,
Habe vorgestern die Bestätigung für folgende Bilder an der mail adresse die du mir gegeben hast abgesendet und leider keine Eingangsbestätigung(zb.Ticket) erhalten. Da es morgen 7 Tage sein werden seitdem ich sie hochgeladen habe,werden sie gelöscht. Löschung des Fotos File:timvanbeveren.jpg[edit]
Die Genehmigungen wurden direkt mit permissions-de@wikimedia.org bereits am 2.1.2016 von Tim van beveren erteilt. Ansprechpartner war Reinard Kraasch. Das lief gemeinsam mit einem weiteren Ticket wegen Bildern die er zur Verfügung gestellt hat. Also bitte wieder rückgängig. Danke

Thank you fro restoring the file.
At the same time, i found now, that all the other files that i have uploaded with the poster, are also have been deleted. Please help me to understand what i did wrong and restore them too.
The situation is that when User:Denniss tagged two of the uploaded pictures and asked me to send the written permission - i did that exactly for those two files.
As I understood, I should not do that for all the uploaded files, - am I right?
Working now at the creation of the article in Wikipedia, I found that all other uploaded files are deleted: Here they are:

I have undeleted this file and disappointed with you for deleting a used image at English Wikisource without alerting that community. That you only allowed one week for addition of details when the image has been at Commons for six years, and three years at English Wikisource prior to that, is completely unreasonable and at odds with your responsibilities. An 1864 file is within scope! I am similarly unimpressed with Ellin Beltz for having nominated this file without basic checks at enWS, or the courtesy to talk to the community. You have removed a few of my photos from Wikimedia Commons due to supposed copyright violation. These were my photos so I'm not sure why they were removed. I couldn't find them anywhere else on the internet, either. List of photos deleted:

I have a similar problem as you have removed one of my photos from Wikimedia Commons due to supposed copyright violation (Childern book). Indeed, this is a childern book, but an unique one. It is made by parents for their childern in the second grade of Waldorf school. It serves as the first reading book in the process of learning reading. Each childern at second grade in Waldorfs schools around the world get such a unique, handmade reading book from his/her parents (of course its content vary from class to class and the handmade pictures are always unique). The picture is mine. Could you please put it back? Or should I do another upload? Hiermit protestiere ich gegen deine Entsperrung des Accounts "Falk2", ohne dass vorher irgendeine Diskussion mit mir gesucht wurde, ohne dass mir überhaupt jemand Bescheid gegeben hat! Ob Fals2 ein Pferd oder einen Nazi gemeint hatte, kann nur er/sie sagen. Es gab für ihn/sie eine Möglichkeit zur Stellunganahme auf der Benutzerdiskussionsseite, aber es kam nichts. ERrst nach der Entsperrung kam eine Stellungnahme, die nicht gerade auf Versuche der Deeskalation hindeutet. Am 18. Januar 2017, 21:39 Uhr postete User:Falk2: „Brrr, Brauner, ruhig! ...“
- Anmerkungen: Mir war diese Floskel beim Umgang mit Pferden bekannt, aber ich hielt sie auch für missverständlich. Ich habe mir daraufhin einige weitere Diskussionsbeiträge von Falk2 angeschaut und keine „braune“ Soße gefunden (Anmerkung in der Anmerkung: Und anscheinend auch von keinem weiteren hier involvierten Diskutanten). Der gesamte Edit von Falk2 scheint für sich betrachtet ein persönlicher Angriff (PA) zu sein. Allerdings war die vorherige Diskussion schon sehr emotional (bspw. Jüngelchen).
Am 18. Januar 2017, 22:23 Uhr wird der Edit von Falk2 durch User:Stepro zurückgesetzt.

Dann waren noch mehrere daran beteiligt, den entsprechenden Absatz (Brauner) wieder einzufügen oder zu löschen.
Am 19. Januar 2017, 8:43 Uhr wird Falk2 durch admin:A.Savin für zwei Wochen gesperrt.

Grund der Entsperrung[edit]
Ich fand keinen ausreichend begründeten Tatbestand zur Sperrung: weder beim Wort „Brauner“ noch im sonstigen Verhalten (zu allen meinen Zweifeln (PA von Falk2) habe ich mich schon weiter oben geäußert).
Ich sah nur, dass Falk2 mehr als 48 Stunden gesperrt war und Alchemist-hp keine 60 Minuten.
Ich hätte keinen von beiden gesperrt.
Wer mich kennt, weiß, dass ich ungern Sätze mit „Ich“ beginne.
Güteversuch[edit]

Speedy deletion of images from File:Oímbra, Ourense, Spain - panoramio (52).jpg to File:Oímbra, Ourense, Spain - panoramio (118).jpg[edit]
Why the systematic deletion of this images in scope, arguing to that this images are "Out of project scope; unused personal image"?
In case you still dont know or seen the categories on this speedy deleted files, this images are not personal images but images of runners running and competing in Category:Ultra Trail Vilar de Perdizes, an ultramarathon between Portugal and Spain that goes around Vilar de Perdizes, a small Village in Portugal, but one of the most known and famous villages in Portugal. We dont delete images of sports competions, specially if it depicts the competitors competing. If this images clearly show said runners competing in this ultramarathon, how then can you clain that this images are personal images and then speedy deleting said images, and per Commons:Project scope, it says that The expression "educational" is to be understood according to its broad meaning of "providing knowledge; instructional or informative"".
Even if this were "personal images", you as an administrator know or should know that your justification for speedy deleting does not appears as a criteria for speedy deletion in Commons:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion#File.
So as this images are in scope, they should be speedy undeleted, as this images are in scope and their speedy deletion were not based in Commons policies and they provide "knowledge; instructional or informative"". Tm (talk) 01:31, 25 June 2017 (UTC)

About my categorization of images from Panoramio, i making several basic categorizations, starting with categorizing images into the country categories and with time i (or several other users) categorized or will categorize then into more suitable categories, but alas this takes time and someone, like me and several other users, willing to do an complete job. Damit ich es diesmal richtig mache hier kurz meine Frage wie ich es richtig hätte machen sollen? Naturschutzgebiet-Löschungen[edit]
Hallo, du hast eben eine Reihe von NSG-Kats als "empty category" gelöscht. Die Anträge kamen von einem Neuaccount und sind in meinen Augen Trollerei. Die Kategorien gehören zu einer Systematik. Sie enthielten vor dem Schnelllöschantrag grundlegende Informationen wie Ortskategorien und Beschreibungen. Sie sind immer wieder für die WLE-Wettbewerbe von Belang und werden allmählich zudem mit Panoramio-Bildern gefüllt. Das Thema hatten wir übrigen in der Vergangenheit wiederholt. Bitte stelle die Kategorien wieder her. Folgende sind auf meiner Beobachtungsliste gelandet, falls es weitere gab auch diese bitte wiederherstellen:

The image which is attached to the permission has a size of about 8 M Bytes, and the email address is of an official domain, ministryofcrab.com, which is a restaurant that belongs to the subject of the photo. But when I uploaded the photo, a warning appeared that an identical to the file (File:Chef Dharshan Munidasa.jpg) has previously been deleted by you. - Hallo Frze, den Müll hatte ich auch schon gesehen. Das Löschen halte ich derzeit für unsinnig, da der Bot innerhalb von Tagen Bilder und Namen tauscht. Hier zeigte die erste Version ein total verschwommenes Bild eines Schwanenkopfes. Eine Diskussion mit dem Bot-Betreiber hatte ich auf der Adminbeschwerdeseite begonnen. Ergebnislos. Bis Panoramio und damit auch der Bot seinen Dienst einstellt bleibt nur, die sinnlosen Dateien in Kategorien zu sammeln, wie Du es bereits machts, und dann den Inhalt zur Löschung vorschleider. - Puh, die Diskussion vom April hatte ich nicht mitbekommen. Das war erst einmal ´ne Menge Text zum lesen. Dank dafür. Aus dieser Lektüre ergibt sich die Antwort auf Frage 1: Dem Bot oder -betreiber kann ich nichts befehlen. Und eine Anfrage beim Betreiber scheint sinnlos, es werden vermutlich nur Antworten wie in dieser Diskussion kommen. Zur zweiten Frage: Die Kategorie sollte eher eine versteckte sein und Photographs by Kalispera for discssion heißen (Wir wollen uns doch kein PA-Vorwurf einhandeln ;)
- Der Projektumfang erlaubt leider auch Bilder zur Urination. Und auch mehr als 99 % aller Bilder von Kalispera Dell werden IMHO vermutlich behalten, da immer jemand einen Grund dafür finden wird (siehe Disk. zu Autobahnfotos oder schrägen Häuserbildern aus Strehlen). Beiträge liefert, fast alle nur Kategorien betreffend, neue anlegt, Löschanträge stellt, Beschreibungen von Dateien ändert, und das (fast) alles nur bei Dateien mit deutscher Sprache, da gehe ich davon aus, dass es ein erfahrener, der deutschen Sprache mächtigen Benutzer ist. Und ein solch erfahrener Benutzer sollte auch die Regel kennen, Diskussionen dort fortzusetzen, wo sie begonnen wurden. Es gibt viele solcher Betriebsnummerkategorien, nicht alle von Vandalen oder IPs angelget, manch eine sogar von erfahrenen Bahnfans (Category:52 7409). Photos and sketches of work by Eugenio Gentili Tedeschi[edit]
I was disappointed to see that you didn't wait longer before deleting the images I've been collecting for the Wiki entry on Eugenio Gentili Tedeschi. I said I was obtaining written permission from the rights holders. It's taking time -- the presumed rights holder, Tedeschi's son is a busy guy, it's Italy, he travels and so on. I hadn't posted them to the entry and they weren't hurting anybody. There ought to be more important things to worry about on Wikipedia than something so benign. But so be it.
The images have two categories:
1) Photos of Tedeschi's buildings in Milan and the surrounding area. These are the property of the Estate of EGT. These images date from the 1950's to the 1970's. They have also findable on Google Images. 2) sketches, made by EGT of his friends, including Primo Levi. These sketches are the property of the estate, as well. They have been published in at least one book, the biography of Primo Levi, by Carole Angier, by permission of EGT who was still alive when Angier wrote her book. Some of these are also findable on Google Images.
It would be helpful you could tell me, someone who does't spent much time on Wikipedia and doesn't know this by heart, which categories these images fall into, given the template.
