Picture of the Year 2013 R1 Announcement[edit]

Picture of the Year 2013 R2 Announcement[edit]

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2013 is open![edit]

2012 Picture of the Year: A pair of European Bee-eaters in Ariège, France.

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 7 March 2014. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Commons:Picture_of_the_Year/2013/Introduction/en Click here to learn more and vote »]

Painted reproduction of Augustus of Prima Porta[edit]

Salve Eunostos,

My name is Isaiah Mitchell, and I'm writing on behalf of Trinity University Press in San Antonio, TX. We're in the middle of publishing a book about art in the Western world right now, and we'd like to use this photo. Do you have an original RAW or TIFF version of this photograph? Unfortunately, we cannot print with JPEG.

Many thanks, --Isaiah Mitchell (talk) 21:44, 8 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Gerbil (talk) 09:19, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Bonsoir. --Eunostos (talk) 18:07, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have contributed heavily to the Turkish pictures in the Wikimedia Commons, having a site myself with over 80.000 pictures on that subject, some of which I contribute to the commons. Today, editing pictures from a recent visit to the Anatolian Civilizations museum in Ankara I noticed a category had been added to a work I published. The problem is, the work, a large pythos, is given te category "Hittite metalwork". It's nice if people add to my work, but ony if they do not make mistakes. The work is in terracotta, nothing metal about it. I do not know if you made more changes to my work, please be careful and correct errors if you find them. I will now delete the category. Le stégosaure du Muséum[edit]

Salut Eunostos. Sur cette page de discussion tu as écrit I just wrote to the Museum to ask about the date and author of the sculpture. If it is in the public domain, there won't be any problem.

Bien cordialement, --BeatrixBelibaste (talk) 13:53, 24 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bonsoir @BeatrixBelibaste:  !

Also thank you for writing to me in French. I am sorry I can not answer in Portuguese, for I don't know this language well enough. If needed, though, we can also discuss in English y en español. Bien cordialement,--Eunostos (talk) 07:49, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
