Deleted photo[edit]

Hello @EugeneZelenko: I am new on wikipedia... Would you please help me? You deleted all the photos I had recently uploaded. The uploaded photos were taken by our in-house photograph and we own the copyright of all of them. Most important we are responsible of the art directions of those specific magazine / books issues. Лицензия а также уточнения авторского права к файлам[edit]

Здравствуйте Евгений ! По вашему уведомлению, я отредактировал несколько загруженных файлов, указав на них лицензию а также шаблон об истичении авторского права (по причине глубокой давности их снятия): File:Ilyas Zhansugurov and Maxim Gorky.jpg File:Abdolla Üsenov.jpg File:Kazakhs 19th Century 14.jpg File:Kazakhs 19th Century 12.jpg File:Kazakhs 19th Century 11.jpg File:Zhansugurov family.jpg File:Mustafa Kokebaev.jpg.

Но в редактирование по указанию авторского права к следующим файлам, я затруднился, по причине того что я фактически не могу предоставить разрешение самих авторов данных фотографии по следующим причинам.

В самих источниках отсутвует авторство данных файлов (отсутвуют имена авторов и дата создания/время/год) и то, я предпологаю что, раз уж авторы сами опубликовали данную работу в сайте свободном для общественного доступа. То и они передали ее в пользовании общественного достояния, точно также как и другие авторы сделали это по отношению к своим же файлам.

Нет, наличие файлов в Интернете не означает, что с ними можно делать что угодно. Разрешение с отказом от части авторских прав (== свободная лицензия) должна быть указано явно. Olá, Eugene! Você colocou algumas imagens minhas para exclusão sem entrar em contato comigo ou tomar qualquer outra medida. Entendo que a Wikipédia autorize tal medida, mas sou um usuário ativo, que crio e edito artigo, além de que conheço a plataforma. Além das imagens que irei citar abaixo, as duas logos do CEPS, que eu mesmo produzi, simplesmente sumiram - acredito que você tenha feito exclusão imediata.

Esses são os símbolos municipais da Cidade de Serrinha, no Brasil. Imagens da bandeira e do brasão de armas municipais já eram apresentados no artigo sobre a cidade, mas em má qualidade. Eu decidi, pessoalmente. Logo, além de ser algo sob domínio público, fui eu quem as produzi.

English Wikipedia allows non-free media, but Commons doesn't. See w:en:File:SteamAwardslogo.png and read Commons:Licensing carefully.
Municipal symbols are obviously not your own work. See Commons:Copyright rules by territory for relevant country to find out if such symbols in public domain or not.
I don't think that logos of educational institutions are automatically in public domain. After all universities had autonomy for long time.
You could upload photos in original camera resolution with EXIF to proof your authorship.

Image/file deletion request[edit]

Hello, Good evening. I am a collector of old documents for over 15 years. My private archive has many items which I am happy to share, for historical purposes, online with the public. I have been approached by museums and other archives thanking me for sharing the images. May I ask why am I being warned of deleting private images from my collection? how can one prove "copyright" if the item is privately kept? I am worried and alarmed. The removed file "Archiv der Pharmazie.gif" is a low resolution image of a scientific journal cover, and the copyright for it is most likely held by either the publisher Wiley-VCH of the journal, the owner of the journal (a learned society, DPhG), or the contributor (Prof. Dr. Frank Böckler, University of Tübingen, Germany) who worked on the cover depicted. I would be glad to supply their written consent, if necessary. However I found this text in the license section of a similar low resolution scientific journal cover image (see "Angewandte Chemie"):

OK, I found out where I went wrong. I've changed the licence of the old photos to PD 70, Owner of the copyrights died in 1944 (70 years - protection period in Poland). I've add note that background map comes from https://www.openstreetmap.org/ to the pictures with map. That is ok or I should change the license to ? You could use template based on {{Creator}} and Wikidata item for information about artist and his/her dates of life.
I don't think that creator of this site creates new copyrights. Photographer should be mentioned in description, but copyrights status is based on original artist. See also w:en:Bridgeman Art Library v. Corel Corp..

I contacted the website developer, Ben Feist, and asked him to upload an image of the dashboard to be used in the article, which he did. I think it's safe to say he knows even less about doing things correctly on Commons than I do. ALL / 100% of his images are created by this user, and all elements within them, there is no derivative element which needs to be credited to any other author. You have made a wild assumption. Please will you therefore discuss the matter with User:Rs-nourse before you take any further action, which would be deemed reckless, misinformed and highly damaging to the wikipedia project. There are thousands of hours which have gone into this work by User:Rs-nourse which is a great asset to wikimedia, it's all his own work, every bit of it, and he does not need to credit every brushstroke/keystroke/mouse-click, or every quartering within every shield - all produced by him. He states "You have literally marked every file I've ever uploaded" and gave you an explanation, but you do not seem to have engaged with him. missing source description[edit]

Dear Eugene, I recently uploaded a grafic. On my site you told me that this grafic needs to mention the source I used. I used a physical ear-model from a company and so I added the name and address of that company. But I am not sure if I did it in the correct way - so please check.
In addition I used the Wikimedia OTRS release generator to create a proper licence agreement and sent it to the "Legal & Compliance" department of that company, but the answer is pending. If I receive a positive answer I will contact you again for further assistance, if the company refuses to give a proper licence, I will replace the grafic with another version which is then solely my work and do not use photographs of objects created by others. Can I upload the same file with a smaller resolution? Also, there are a few other files that are very similar to this one that I have uploaded new versions of: Apple Configurator Logo and Apple Remote Desktop. Are these files okay to be used? The crest was scanned from an old bill issued by the administration of the district in the 1920s. It is certainly public domain, no doubt about that. Whoever created the motive can no longer be established. If it is really necessary, say for legal reasons, deletion must go ahaed.

How we will see unregistered users[edit]

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
