Mittelhessen ist überall? ;-)

Hallo Emha; mir war aufgefallen, dass mein kürzlich hochgeladenes Video File:Passwangstrasse Erschwil February 2020.webm, das mit Mittelhessen sicher nichts zu tun hat, auf User:Emha/Mittelhessen/2020 February 1-9 auftaucht - und auch bei Sir James auf User:Sir James/Mittelhessen/2020 February 9. Und ich sehe nun, dass auf diesen Seiten viele Bilder zu finden sind, bei denen nur äusserst schwer ein Bezug zu Mittelhessen zu erkennen ist, wie File:Last address sign - Gorokhovets, Vladimir Oblast, Lenin Street, 21. (2020-02-07) 12.jpg (aus Russland) oder File:Salzburg, Turbinenlaufrad Gerlos v S, 1.jpeg (ein Turbinenlaufrad in Salzburg). Hi Gestumblindi, das liegt mitnichten an dem Filter des Bots, sondern an dem enorm kruden Kategoriesystem auf Commons. Kurz gesagt werden hier Meta-Kategorien mit der geographischen Kategorie Mittelhessen vermixt. Wenn man herausfinden mag, woher das kommt, dann zitiere ich den Botbetreiber dazu: Often a file will be oddly included on your gallery. If you'd like to know why, the information is visible at toollabs:magog/category-files-blame.php for a total of 30 days after the gallery is created. I recommend you then ask to exclude the highest category which you do not want in your gallery. In Deinem erstgenannten Video geht der Weg wie folgt:

Ist doch völlig logisch, oder? Klar könnte ich jetzt anfangen, alles unterhalb von "Category:Things named after Georg Büchner" auszuschließen, aber wo soll ich anfangen und wo aufhören?

Ganz schlimm offensichtlich ist der Effekt bei den "Taken by"-Kategorien. Alle Fotos, die mit einem Foto gemacht werden, werden ebenfalls unterhalb der Kategorie der Marke einsortiert, so dass Panzer, die in Japan mit einer Leica-Camera aufgenommen wurden, ebenfalls in meiner Kategorie auftauchen. Ich habe mir 2015 die Mühe gemacht, das Problem anzusprechen und eine Lösung dafür vorzuschlagen. Wenn Du wissen magst, wie das ausgegangen ist, dann lies bitte "taken with..."-Categories in the Categories of the camera manufacturers leads to heavy miscategorization

Danke für die Erklärung :-). Hmja, das Kategoriensystem ist wohl nicht zu retten. Aber für Listen wie "Mittelhessen" wäre es vielleicht wirklich eine Idee, nur die ersten drei oder vier (fünf?) Ebenen zu berücksichtigen. Dann würde vielleicht das eine oder andere Relevante unter den Tisch fallen, aber dafür hätte man ein echt "mittelhessisches" Resultat. Wobei das kein Thema ist, das mich heftig bewegt. Wenn du so etwas wie User:Emha/Mittelhessen/2020 February 1-9 in der aktuellen Form nützlich findest, soll es mir auch recht sein. Hello, please take a look at this report: Commons:Administrators' noticeboard#Files named with meaningless/disruptive names (motivated renaming was reverted without any valid reason) as these are serious everyday violations of the Commons rules and protection of meaningless names (in this case, Kalumny which translates as Columns). User Kazimier Lachnovič with filemover rights constantly performs violations of the Commons rules, creates instability issues and protects meaningless names, thus creates confusion. danni bleibt

Hallo, Du hast die Kategorie "danni bleibt demo am..." aus einem Bild genommen, dass ein Graffiti zeigt, das auf eben diese Demo hinweist und das ich deshalb fotograffiert und dann hier hochgeladen habe, weil das Graffiti auf diese Demo verweist und damit es (in Wikipedia oder darüberhinaus) verwendet werden kann um Artikel oder andere Werke mit Bezug zu dieser Demo zu illustrieren. Auch wenn das Bild einen ästhetichen Wert an und aus sich selber hat, ist die Motivation doch der Zusammenhang mit der Demo, den es nun nicht mehr gibt. Hi, das kann ich Dir genau sagen: das Bild war in der Kategorie Danni bleibt demonstration Dannenrod 2020-10-04 und wurde dadurch über -> Dannenrod Forest protest -> Dannenrod Forest -> Stadtallendorf -> dem Landkreis Marburg-Biedenkopf bzw. über Homberg dem Vogelsbergkreis zugeschlagen.
Das Graffiti liegt aber ausweislich seiner Bildbeschreibungsseite in Berlin. Deswegen trifft diese Ortskategorisierung nicht zu. Viele Grüße, --Emha (talk) 16:25, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

Das ist doch eine unsinnige Argumentation. Kopf-Porträts von Pornostars sind hier zum Beispiel unter "nackt"-Kategorien, weil in der Personen-Kategorie auch Nackt-Bilder sind. Bilder von Haushaltsgeräten sind in Orts-Kategorien weil irgendjemand eine "fotografiert in kleinkleckersdorf am 31 februar" gesetzt hat. Das Bild bezieht sich auf eine Demo an einem Ort und es war über die zugehörige Kategorie zu finden. Diese Info hast Du entfernt aber keine andere Möglichkeit geschaffen, das Bild zu finden. --C.Suthorn (talk) 05:48, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

Ich verstehe schon, was Du willst. Schau mal, es gibt hier Orts-Kategorien und Themen-Kategorien. Das Problem an dieser Sache ist, dass User:GPSLeo die Category:Dannenrod Forest protest als Unterkategorie von Category:Dannenrod Forest angelegt hat. Diese Verortung verhindert, dass Porteste "außerhalb des Waldes" stattfinden können bzw. besser umgekehrt gesprochen: alles, was in dieser Kategorie einsortiert wird, landet geographisch gesprochen "im Wald" und das ist nicht sinnvoll. Es sind übrigens viele weitere Kategorien und Fotos aus Berlin betroffen. Würden wir diese Zuordnung kappen, wäre ich voll dafür, das Grafitti in diese Kategorie zu stecken. Um diese Kategorien dennoch miteinander zu verknüpfen gibt es das Template:Cat see also. C.Suthorn / User:GPSLeo, was meint Ihr? Viele Grüße, --Emha (talk) 08:28, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

Das sind hat die Nachteile des starren Kategoriensystems. Fotos von Merkel bei einem Gipfeltreffen in Spanien sind auch in der Category:Germany, auch wenn sie natürlich in Spanien aufgenommen wurden. Genauso werden ja auch die Proteste gegen die olympischen Spiele bei diesen einkategorisiert, auch wenn dort niemand Sport macht. --GPSLeo (talk) 06:40, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

How we will see unregistered users

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

I just saw that you deleted my photo. It's the second time that someone deleted my photo on Wikipediacommons and I don't understand why. Because it's my property, so I don't know what to do. What source and what license should I mention since it's my property?

When I say it's my property it's because I'm the person in the picture and I took it from my personal camera. That's why I don't understand what I have to do so that it can stay on Wikipedia.

@Jamesmouss La raison de la première suppression était: "Il s'agit d'une œuvre dérivée".

Je ne sais pas comment le collègue y a pensé, mais si l'on trouve encore une image (en particulier celle d'une célébrité) quelque part ailleurs, on commence par se méfier. Il y a malheureusement des raisons à cela : ici en Commons, des milliers d'images sont téléchargées chaque jour et sont tout simplement "volées" sur le web. Malheureusement.

Oui, et la deuxième fois, tu n'as pas indiqué de licence, donc pas de déclaration d'autorisation.

@Jamesmouss En fait, tu peux difficilement prouver qu'il s'agit vraiment de ta photo. Mais cela vaut pour tous les photographes qui téléchargent ici des photos dont la source est "œuvre personnelle". Ici, soit on croit les collègues, soit on ne les croit pas...

Ta photo est très basse résolution et inversée. Si tu avais le fichier en résolution originale et à l'endroit, mes derniers doutes seraient levés.

Sound Logo

I am messaging you because a contest for a sound logo for Wikimedia is being developed and your opinion as a Wikimedia Commons admin is appreciated. My team would like to know if it is possible for the top finalist sound logos in the contest to have attribution temporarily hidden from public view until all the votes are final? Wiki Loves Monuments 2022

bald ist es soweit: Vom 1. bis zum 30. September 2022 findet zum zwölften Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM) statt. Dabei können Bau-, Boden- und Kulturdenkmale fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Deshalb laden wir dich gern wieder ein, dieses Jahr mitzumachen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Fotos!

Sieger 2021 – Schloss Langenburg

Vergangenes Jahr hat Matthias Süßen mit einer Drohnenaufnahme von Schloss Langenburg im Morgennebel gewonnen. Welcher Fotograf wird dieses Jahr sein Nachfolger?

Nach WLM 2022 sind wieder zahlreiche neue Denkmallisten entstanden – zum Beispiel die Denkmallisten in Cloppenburg oder in Oldenburg.

Wir haben dieses Jahr unter dem Motto „Klein aber Oho“ drei Sonderpreise für Kleindenkmale ausgelobt. Damit sollen Fotos prämiert werden, die die unterschätzten Kleindenkmale wie Grenzsteine oder Bildstöcke zeigen.

Für die Suche nach Motiven gibt es bei Wikipedia zahlreiche Listen und Karten. Als Einstieg hilft diese Übersichtsseite. Weitere Informationen erhältst du auf der Mitmach-Seite.

Außerdem laden wir Dich ein, ab Anfang September 2022 an der Vorjury teilzunehmen. Diese bewertet die hochgeladenen Bilder und ermittelt so gemeinsam mit der Jury, die im Oktober tagt, die Sieger von Wiki Loves Monuments 2022 in Deutschland. Das Vorjurytool ist hier bald freigeschaltet. Du benötigst dafür nur deinen Benutzernamen und das Passwort.

Hi @Didym, aus mir unerfindlichen Gründen habe ich die Permission damals im Ticketsystem entgegen genommen, den Baustein dann aber beim Transfer des Bildes auf die Commons nicht im Bild gesetzt. Wiki Loves Monuments 2023 - Deutschland

Hallo Emha,

Sieger 2022 – Kloster Paulinzella

bald ist es soweit: Vom 1. bis zum 30. September 2023 findet zum dreizehnten Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM) statt. Dabei können Bau-, Boden- und Kulturdenkmale fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Deshalb laden wir dich gern wieder ein, dieses Jahr mitzumachen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Fotos!

Vergangenes Jahr hat Radomianin mit einer Gesamtansicht von Kloster Paulinzella gewonnen. Welcher Fotograf oder welche Fotografin tritt dieses Jahr die Nachfolge an?

Nach WLM 2022 sind wieder zahlreiche neue Denkmallisten entstanden – zum Beispiel die Denkmallisten in Waltershausen in Thüringen oder in Fulda.

Für die Suche nach Motiven gibt es bei Wikipedia zahlreiche Listen und Karten. Als Einstieg hilft diese Übersichtsseite. Weitere Informationen erhältst du auf der Mitmach-Seite.

Für das einfache Auffinden haben wir eine Upload-Karte erstellt, in der viele aber leider noch nicht alle Kulturdenkmale angezeigt werden können. Das Laden der Objekte dauert dort etwas.

Wir haben dieses Jahr „drei Sonderpreise für Bilder von Friedhöfen“ ausgelobt. Zugelassen sind für den Sonderpreis auch Fotos von Friedhöfen, die nicht denkmalgeschützt sind.

Außerdem laden wir Dich ein, ab Anfang September 2023 an der Vorjury teilzunehmen. Diese bewertet die hochgeladenen Bilder und ermittelt so gemeinsam mit der Jury, die im Oktober tagt, die Sieger von Wiki Loves Monuments 2023 in Deutschland. Das Vorjurytool ist hier bald freigeschaltet. Du benötigst dafür nur deinen Benutzernamen und das Passwort.

Hallo Emha, da Du dort als Ansprechpartner angegeben wirst, wende ich mich eben mal an Dich: Der Genehmigungsvorgang zu diesem Bild läuft ja offensichtlich (oder auch nicht), aber was mich gerade total irritiert hat, waren die Metadaten. Dort steht nicht nur die Kontaktinfo des Fotografen und Urheberrechtsinhabers, sondern auch seine vollständige Bankverbindung. Ist das so o.k. und zulässig? Hallo Hi 2003:C0:8F40:7400:45FF:7229:3989:2E4C, das ist eine Entscheidung, die der Fotografierende zu treffen hat. Diese Person hat diese Daten nämlich absichtlich in die Datei hineingeschrieben.

Wir können auf der Wikipedia-Ebene die EXIF-Daten nur lesen, aber nicht löschen. Dafür müsste man die Datei herunterladen, die Metadaten ändern und wieder hochladen. Ich persönlich würde das nicht machen, denn es war ja offenbar der Wunsch des Urhebenden, hier drin zu stehen. Ich hoffe, das hilft Dir. Viele Grüße,

Uploads Hassiaca

Hallo,

ich lehre an der Univ. Marburg und veranstalte ein Seminar zu Wikisource, im Rahmen desssen die Teilnehmer/innen selbst ein kleineres Projekt bearbeiten sollen.

Heute wollte ich mit den studentischen Usern Uploads nach commons ausführen. In der Regel handelt es sich um Texte zur hessischen Geschichte. Alles urheberechtlich unbedenklich, weil 18. oder 19. Jh. Die Scans habe ich meistenteils selber gemacht. Im Einzelfall stammen sie aus Digitalisierungsprojekten Dritter, stehen aber unter freier Lizenz. Die Uploads meiner Studis scheiterten heute, weil die Möglichkeit des Spamming bei neuen Usern nicht ausgeschlossen ist und sie daher keine PDFs hochladen dürfen. Es wird gebeten, dass man einen Admin kontaktiert. Da ich Dich als eifrigen Beobachter zu Hassiaca kenne, hoffe ich, dass Du in der Sache weiter helfen kannst. Hi @Jürgen Nemitz (HSP), in der Tat verfolge ich Deine/Eure Aktiväten im Rahmen des Wikipedia-Hochschulprogrammes seit vielen Jahren und finde es klasse, dass Ihr die Studis an die Wikipedia und die Arbeitsweise heranführt. Ich unterstütze das rückhaltlos, muss aber klar sagen, dass ich von der beschriebenen Thematik bislang keinerlei Ahnung und/oder Erfahrung habe. Aber man wächst ja mit seinen Anforderungen ;) Wird bei der Fehlermeldung denn eine Seite verlinkt, auf der Infos stehen? Letztlich muss es ja was mit den Nutzerrechten zu tun haben, ich mache mich mal schlau. Ich denke, dass so eine Liste nützlich wäre dafür, die kannst Du mir gerne per Wikimail schicken.

Ich organisierte ja auch viele Jahre lang die mittelhessischen Wikipedianer-Treffen - bis mir das Familienleben wichtiger wurde. Kannst Du Dir denn vorstellen, dass so ein Treffen mit Wikipedianern in Marburg vor Ort für die Studierenden reizvoll wäre? Ich fände das auf jeden Fall spannend und würde sowas mit entsprechendem Vorlauf in die Wege leoten, wenn Du magst.

Hallo @Emha, also ich kann das Problem leider nicht nachstellen (denn ich habe dies Beschränkungen ja nicht). Es erscheint einfach ein dürrer Zweizeiler inhaltlich etwa folgenden Inhalts: Da man bei kürzlich angemeldeten Usern, die PDFs uploaden wollen, die Intention des Spamming nicht ausschließen könne, sei der Upload von PDFs für Neuzugänge gesperrt und man möge bitte einen Admin kontaktieren.

Vermutlich will man wohl verhindern, dass allerlei Pamphlete zweifelhaften Inhalts und oder gar Papiere aus eigener Feder hochgeladen werden. So zumindest mein Reim drauf und die Sache ist angesichts der Weltlage ja u.U. im Prinzip berechtigt. Praktisch ist es dann doch hinderlich. Im Zweifel könnte ich natürlich alle Uploads vornehmen, aber die Studis sollen das ja auch mal selbst gemacht haben.

So landet man dann eben hier :-)

@Jürgen Nemitz (HSP) der kollaborative Geist in der Wikipedia hat über Nacht alle Fragen beantwortet und die Technik Deine Studis innerhalb von vier Tagen befähigt, das Gewünschte tun zu können. Und alles ohne mein Zutun 😁. Auf der Diskussionsseite von Marcus kannst Du alle Details nachlesen. Falls neue Accounts dazu kommen, schicke mir einfach eine Wikimail und ich gebe denen das Recht zum Hochladen per Häkchen.
