Suspicious and seemingly nonsensical edits[edit]

Hi and Happy New Year!

An anom series of edits looks pretty wide of being useful or desirable to me, so I thought maybe you should take a look at it yourself, and perhaps have a checkuser run to see if it can identify an en.wikipedia editor behind http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/82.159.137.19 them.

I left an request on the IP talk page {82.159.137.19) asking for a discussion. This, for ecample links via {{Meta|Categorical index}} to a non-existant page on Meta.
This, links to a duplicate page ( [[w:Wikipedia:Commons categories|Wikipedia:Commons categories]] on en.wp w:Wikipedia:Commons categories to Commons:categories here, which provides information to wikipedians there about the system here.
Checking the history on that wikipedia page indicates this is the handywork of Mac... I'll close the below, and make inquiries thereon. IIRC, he's an newcomer as well. I'll make sure this gets cleaned up.

Working bottom upwards in succession...
The first I reverted. It linked to non-existant Wiktionary pages.
This introduces a redlink category name that has some sensibility to it's meaning, save it is in the ROOT Category!!!
This is similar, but to a Category:Category, suggesting to me, this is someone experimentally playing around.
Here, GeorgHH cured a bad link but appears not to have further investigated this anom's contribs.
   Best regards // FrankB 05:29, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think a handful of edits like these in any way constitutes a vandal; I think you are way over-reacting. If they're not helpful edits, then revert them. I also don't know that Duesentrieb and myself need personal updates on this kind of thing. We have an Administrators' noticeboard. --pfctdayelise (说什么?) 06:40, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the tone. Turns out this is the work of a probable 'young' editor, and I posted to WP:AN/I to keep a tighter watch on him. I had some dealings with him before, so I've asked him to fix up by reverting himself. If he doesn't, I will deal with it. But when I started writing the above, many of those pieces were missing or conjecture. // FrankB 07:01, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CheckUsage + uselang=xx[edit]

Hello Duesentrieb,

Could you check the following link please ? http://tools.wikimedia.de/~daniel/WikiSense/CheckUsage.php?i=RER-B_MassyT1.jpg&uselang=fr

The page remains in English on my screen, although I saw you wrote "add uselang=xx to wiki-links;" on m:User:Duesentrieb/CheckUsage.

I can help with French and other languages' translations if you need. Teofilo 12:38, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CheckUsage does not support any internationalization yet. That's what the entry you mentioned is about: adding that support. it's under the "To Do" heading... -- Duesentrieb(?!) 11:55, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, sorry for the misreading. Teofilo 12:11, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  3. Ciconia nigra offizielle lang templates in Tabellenform.

Image deletion warning Image:Human-man.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file.
In all cases, please do not take the deletion request personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

This is incredibly cool. I take it you could somehow set up your desktop wallpaper to be the POTD, and it would update itself each day? Is there any way to do that for Linux, or is it only a Windows thing? If you point me to some info about it, I'll write up a Commons page for it and we can promote the hell out of it. :) --pfctdayelise (说什么?) 05:17, 19 February 2007 (UTC) Also, what exactly is the copy/pastable code in the last column supposed to be for? pfctdayelise (说什么?) 05:18, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have put up some instructions at meta:User:Duesentrieb/POTD - using this as an automatically updated desktop background was of course the idea. I have been doing that for some months now :)
The copy/pastable code is pretty useless right now, expect it to change or removed. -- Duesentrieb 22:25, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I changed this from a marker template to a problem tag. URGH I can't believe this wasn't done before, since most {{Superseded}} are nominated for deletion on Commons:Deletion requests/Superseded, and CommonsTicker only puts +VfD for problem tags, right? So up til now, people were never notified about this... arghhhhhhh.... --pfctdayelise (说什么?) 13:57, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

downloads.wikimedia.org[edit]

Hi, I don't know whether you are the right person to bug, if not please tell me who should. We have been creating an archive of the featured pictures of 2006, which we plan to release at the same time as the announcement of the winner of the COM:POTY/2006. As I am really afraid of slashdotting the toolserver, we would like to have it on downloads.wikimedia.org. -- Bryan (talk to me) 21:25, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bilder-Kategorien[edit]

Hallo Duesentrieb,
Also meine Frage:
Schon mal Danke, --80.228.66.142 17:08, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

-- Duesentrieb 21:15, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Dankeschön, werde ich mir angucken! Gruß, --80.228.67.32 15:19, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question about Image:PD-icon.png[edit]

Hello, Duesentrieb. I have a question about Image:PD-icon.png. Is this your work? That is, did you invent the design? Since this image is very widely used, even out of Wikimedia projects, I like to know the inventor. Maybe, I will note the fact in Wikipedia article. Thanks.--fryed-peach 14:12, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I didn't counciously copy the design, so you could say I invented it. But simply striking an already well-established symbol is hardly original - the design is so obvious, it has probably been invented 100 times over. That's one of the reasons I marked the item itself as PD-ineligible. -- Duesentrieb 17:44, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see. It is purely public domain. Thank you for a kind reply. --fryed-peach 23:31, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

POTD RSS feeds[edit]

Hey Duesentrieb,

Haven't seen you around for a while, so I presume you are busy with real life business. Hope all is well.

If/when you get a chance, would I be able to get some usage stats on the POTD feed? (I recall you showed me a page with stats once, but I didn't bookmark the URL.) The mailing list will soon have 500 subscribers so I thought it could be another good promotional opportunity.

Also, an anon user asked why there was no atom feed. Would one be hard to set up?

thanks, pfctdayelise (说什么?) 14:00, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Yea, real life has got me busy right now.
Usage stats are at http://tools.wikimedia.de/~daniel/potd/stats/ - though i'm not sure how useful they are: there appears to be an increase in usage this month, but it dropped off steeply after a couple of days, and > 60% of the requests in June is reported to have come from an "Microsoft URL Control" which I have never seen before; my guess is that is was simply a single automatic-wallpaper script gone wrong, sending requests every few seconds... So, stats are there, but have to be taken with a lump of salt.
Looking just at the condensed feeds, I see only 776 loads for the last 9 days, that's about 3 per hour. Looking at the feeds and forwards for the Commons POTD last month, i see about 40k requests, that's 55 per hour. Note however that many people watch the POTD via a syndicated feed, like http://open.wikiblogplanet.com/ or a reader like http://www.google.com/reader, and will thus not show up. Anyway, when the feed was broken, one of the people who notified me of it was a KDE developer writing a widget to show the POTD - so that's pretty cool :)
Adding Atom feeds is sure possible, but not high on my list: it would clutter the interface even more, and pretty much anything that supports atom also supports RSS. Atom is the "better" format in principle, IMHO, but not necessarily in practice. Anyway, it's open source, the template that generate the RSS are pretty straight forward, see [2] and [3]. So if anyone feels like providing atom templates... so much the better :) -- Duesentrieb 22:17, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

HI Duesentrieb. If I add a deletion template on a template that is transcluded on an image, such as I did on Template:sxc-warning, does it show up in the CommonsTicker? Weird categories[edit]

Siebrand tells me that you are the one to talk to about CommonSense categorisation.

User:SieBot has placed an awful lot of images in Category:Music by country and Category:Musicians by country. These catgories are not intended to contain images directly. I've spent several hours cleaning up most of the former and am making headway on the latter.

I gather that the theory is that "any category is better than no categories at all." I half agree, but when images are placed in categories that should contain only categories, not images, it encourages other people also to place images there. I'd much rather we had something like "music images needing classification" for the bot to use. Is this at all possible? (We certainly have categories like Category:Unidentified plants.) - Jmabel | talk 17:13, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CommonSense makes suggestions - they are not intended to be applied unquestioningly, or even automatically. The interface clearly states that. It does a lot of guessing, and it often guesses wrong. -- Duesentrieb 21:28, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Then is there some chance that you and Siebrand could discuss this, because his tool is applying these automatically. - Jmabel | talk 18:26, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More than two years on this is still happening with some categories. I've been cleaning up a bunch of pictures that wound up in Category:Schools in South Dakota that were from places like Indiana and Illinois. They also got placed in Category:Schools in North Dakota as well. Not a huge deal. I cleared up the ones I found with out too much work. I don't know what if anything you can do about it. I just thought you should know it is still happening. --Sdgjake (talk) 17:32, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tools down?[edit]

Tools are down for weeks now (including some of yours like the "tool server mediasearch", also things like the "check usage" tab tool). Do you know any reason, or have an estimate when they will be up again? Ingolfson 08:53, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I get 500 server errors, by the way. Since sometime in middle January, I think. Always tended to work before. Ingolfson 08:56, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There are certain problems with the toolserver databases. It will be hopefully fixed at the end of the week, unless other problems appear. -- Bryan (talk to me) 09:44, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
MediaSearch reads "disabled". Will it be back? I'd like to try it. --Subfader (talk) 17:19, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from DRBot. (Stop bugging me!) 07:00, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I ping'd the owner of this message of this image and they agreed with your concern about possible copyvio. Only problem is that the image is in use: he.wp, en.wp, zh.wp & sr.wp . Not sure if you want to continue with this. Also according to the captions on the wp articles the image was taken at "Museum of Man, San Diego, California." --ShakataGaNai Talk 06:14, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again-it's been a while[edit]

Hi! I saw yesterday that you've listed yourself as a Bot or script originator, and I need some advice on the right tool/tools, especially any existing here which already do the given features I listed. If I can piggy back, see this question and your advice on what I can do to maximize my time cleaning things up a bit. Spent a lot of time manually making fix ups this past week, and its wearing! Thanks. Answer where you like, but at least ping one of my talks with a null edit or a back link, when answered. Thanks. // FrankB 19:43, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Administrative notice[edit]

Deutsch

Dear Duesentrieb. I am writing to you to inform you that because of inactivity, you may lose your adminship on Commons.

Commons has a new policy on admin activity, Commons:Administrators/De-adminship, taken into use on June 13, 2007 (after a two-week poll on the proposed policy's talk page).

If you want to keep your adminship, you have to sign at Commons:Administrators/Inactivity section within 30 days. Note that if you don't make 5 admin actions in the following 5 months, you will then lose the adminship anyways.

Thank you,
abf /talk to me/ 11:18, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Checkusage tool failed this one.[edit]

Hi Duesentrieb, I write to you because I believe that you are the Whizz behind the Checkusage tool. Perhaps you want to know that the tool failed to locate this image: Image:Levy 1848 De nyeste forsog i Fodselsstiftelsen i Wien etc.pdf, reporting

691 wikis searched. Levy_1848_De_nyeste_forsog_i_Fodselsstiftelsen_i_Wien_etc.pdf is not used anywhere!

Well, in fact it is used. It is referenced in a footnote at en:Contemporary reaction to Ignaz Semmelweis and in the Danish wikisource wikisource:da:De nyeste Forsög i Födselsstiftelsen i Wien til Oplysning om Barselfeberens Ætiologie.

Thanks for the otherwise fantastic tool, Power.corrupts (talk) 22:11, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In both places, the file was linked to wrongly. At en-WP, the link used "[[Commons:Image:...]]", which should have been simply "[[:Image:...]]" or "[[Media:...]]", and at da-WS, the link used "{{Billede:...}}", which was converted to a plain link by the MediaWiki software because there is no s:da:Template:Billede. It should have been "[[:Billede:...]]". I've corrected both instances. Lupo 06:39, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the clarification and the tech tips. I always test links to ensure they are functional; if they are, I just assume everything is fine. There are quite a number of weird tweaks in the wiki software. Power.corrupts (talk) 07:41, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Statistics for Commons[edit]

Hello Duesentrieb,
I actually thought that it was on Special:Statistics before that special page has changed its look, but a link to http://wikistics.falsikon.de/latest/wikimedia/commons/ is missing on Special:Statistics. I think this could be useful. I was just looking/wondering because of that discussion ;-) --- Best regards, Melancholie (talk) 19:16, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

thanks -- Duesentrieb 20:54, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gallery[edit]

Although the status reads SNAFU, none of my pcitures recently uploaded (about a week) are visible. Or am I missing essential information? Paul Hermans (talk) 13:19, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for noticing. The copy of the commons database is only up to date on one server, and outdated on the other. -- Duesentrieb 13:38, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CommonSense[edit]

Hallo Duesentrieb! Herzlichen Dank, Ibn Battuta (talk) 19:27, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

speedy delete[edit]

Hi Duesentrieb, diese Bilder sind m. E. sämtlich URV, "own work by uploader" kann so kaum hinhauen.

Bitte kein speedy delete in diesem Falle. Viele Grüße, AFBorchert (talk) 23:11, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don't think this image are part of the deal, are they? Multichill (talk) 17:13, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of locations & list of batches[edit]

Hi Duesentrieb, i've been playing around with a template, see {{BArch category header}}. Could you supply me with a list of locations and a list of batches? With those lists i can automaticly create the categories. Multichill (talk) 21:27, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mini-Schönheitskorrekturen[edit]

Moin Duesentrieb,

-- Duesentrieb 18:30, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jahresangaben in Bundesarchiv-Bilder[edit]

(vgl. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Bundesarchiv/Error_reports#7._Dezember Eintrag Category:Images from the German Federal Archive, year 1867) --Ephraim33 (talk) 09:40, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

-- Duesentrieb 15:37, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FTP for batch uploads[edit]

Hi! I saw your bot work done for the German archive stuff and I have a query. I've written a script in Perl to batch upload images: User:Nichalp/Upload script. Well, I'm not exactly a programmer, but wrote this script in sheer frustration as there was a lack of similar tools offering such an advanced functionality. What I would like to know is if there is anyway I could use FTP instead of HTTP to upload images to Mediawiki? Thanks in advance. Nichalp (talk) 05:45, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No. what advantage would it have anyway?
For massive uploads (like, several thousand images), the best method is probably to bundle the images into a tar, load that on the servers, and then import the images server-side. which is what was done for the images from the Bundesarchiv. -- Duesentrieb 14:18, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't FTP a faster way of file transfer? Nichalp (talk) 07:27, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No. FTP supports multi-file uploads more "natively", uploading by HTTP manually is annoying, if you use HTML's "choos file" thingy. But if it's done by a script, it really doesn't matter much if you use HTTP or FTP or whatever. Actually, i'm not sure if FTP supports implicit compression the way HTTP does, so in some cases, HTTP may even be faster. -- Duesentrieb 12:14, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bundesarchiv[edit]

Hello! I find you at BArchBot. I need a help. How I can upload fotos from Bundesarchiv? I find some good fotos, and will upload this. Thenks.--Jaro.p (talk) 13:42, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can only do it manually. But there's no point: not all pictures they have are free enough for us -- many are still owned by third parites. We automatically get all really free pictures for upload by BarchBot. -- Duesentrieb 21:41, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

View statistics in gallery[edit]

Hello, Duesentrieb!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it.

Request for advice about very large upload[edit]

Hi Duesentrieb. I'm in the process of downloading a collection of 65000 PNGs of high-resolution scans of public domain works from the New York Public Library Digital Collection. They total about 800 GB. I'd like to upload these to Commons in the most efficient manner possible. I've generated image descriptions and filenames for all of them. Could you provide advice on how to go about this? You were recommended in IRC. Thanks! Dcoetzee (talk) 01:44, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Using Commonsense to find supercategories for red link categories[edit]

Hello,

I am trying to use Commonsense to suggest suitable supercategories for yet unexisting, "red link" categories on Commons. I found a problem :

Why didn't Commonsense find Category:Towns in Western Australia (exactly the same wording as the English Wikipedia's en:Category:Towns in Western Australia ?

I wish we could have in the future a Commonsense/Find supercategories tab on the top of category pages.

CatScan[edit]

Hi Daniel, I'm not sure if you still want to hear about this tool, one I like using. These days I'm using it frequently for images. When doing intersections between two categories, for images, it would be nice if one could select an image view as output (similar to the one being used when just scanning subcategories for images). The title view is great for Wikipedia, but file names are somewhat random. Maybe this isn't too time-consuming to change or it could go into the re-write of the tool. -- User:Docu at 17:13, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Toolserver weirdness[edit]

I don't know if you've already noticed this thread — I wrote a quick replacement for your CheckUsage tool that's more tolerant of little issues like missing Commons databases. ;) Anyway, I just noticed something funny: as of about 15 minutes ago or so, my tool has started correctly reporting file usage on Commons again, but yours seems still broken. I'm not sure what we're doing differently, just thought you might find it interesting. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 16:54, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You should forward permission for this and similar files to Commons:OTRS (permissions-de-at-wikimedia.org). Multichill (talk) 13:41, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Duesentrieb - I gather these are your creation ;-) I've noticed that when one does an "Upload a new version of this file" even just for a minor edit like removing a watermark (which I've been doing several of recently), the file appears on my gallery, and more importantly, disappears from the gallery of the original uploader. On principle, I don't think this is right; the file should stay on on the gallery of the original uploader, so that they can e.g. keep track of what they've posted. I'm also uneasy about images appearing on my gallery when I don't deserve any credit for them. Can the gallery software be changed so that the file remains on the original uploader's gallery, rather than the editor's? Thanks! - MPF (talk) 13:25, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Commons as a source of 'library' music tracks?[edit]

You may be aware of http://incompetech.com/ 's collection of music tracks in various styles and genres.

It's also under a 'free' license compatible with Commons.

I was thinking these could be hosted as OGG versions on Commons in a suitable category, with a view to them being used by various projects including podcasts, Wikiversity and others..

Would you be willing to approach the creator of the tracks concerned, with a view to getting official approval from them for them to be hosted on Commons, in addition to the 'free' license they are already under?

Hello my friend,
I just saw that modification done by User:Multichill's bot that adds Category:IUCN Near Threatened species to images using CommonSense.
My problem is that I am trying to avoir IUCN cat on images:

  • species categories should be in the correct IUCN cat (here Category:Neochen jubata should be in Category:IUCN Near Threatened species)
    • but only through the {{IUCN}} template (Reason: allow us to run a bot to update IUCN id/threatLevel when IUCN changes its mind)
  • the images should only be in the species cat, not in the IUCN cat (Category:Neochen jubata here)
(Reason1: the specimen is not threatened when its species (described by the species cat) is threatened)
(Reason2: an image should not be in 2 cats (species cat & IUCN cat) if one cat (species cat) is in the other (IUCN cat))

Is there a way to avoid having Category:IUCN XXXXX species in CommonSense?

CatScan request[edit]

Hi, I use List compare tool of AWB for make my list of interest. I often use the provider "Category (recursive)" on Commons, that return all pages (also "File:" and "Category:") and that filter this result for obtain only "Content" (i.e. gallery) and "Category:". This execution is very expensive and long because the result list contains more "File:". So I wuold use your tool CatScan for this operation, so:

  • I want the result in "Wiki-Text" format for use it in AWB, but now this format, in the search "for all pages", append the category for each single item. E.g., I would this format result, as the search "for all categories":

* [[Dénes_Szekeres]]

and not

* [[Dénes_Szekeres]]: [[:Category:Film_producers|Film_producers]]

Otherwise, add a new search (at least for commons): "for all gallery" for obtain only the page (unless "File:" and "Category:")

Also, maybe is most useful (for count) use the character "#" as first character, instead "*".

  • Is possible insert a check box for define the recursive search in "search in category". Is the "recursive" check box is selected, the "depth" will be disable. I have noted that the real max depth is 5, it is correct?

Thanks.--B3t (talk) 09:05, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Helferlein[edit]

Hi Duesentrieb!

"2008 in Duisburg").

Viele Grüße, --BlackIceNRW (talk) 22:15, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bot de-flagging notification[edit]

Hi Duesentrieb, I'm writing to you because your bot BArchBot (talk · contributions · Statistics · Recent activity · block log · User rights log · uploads · Global account information) is about to be de-flagged as a result of inactivity. If you'd like to keep that account flagged as a bot, please speak up at Commons:Bots/Requests/de-flag#Discussion; otherwise, I'll remove the bot flag from that account in a week from now (20 February 2014). Thanks for your understanding, odder (talk) 22:25, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Important message for file movers[edit]

A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.

Possible acceptable uses of this ability:

  • To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
  • To perform file name swaps.
  • When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)

Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.

The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. Questions regarding this right should be directed to administrators. --Majora (talk) 21:35, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
