repeated removal of tags

Hello. I reverted a removal of tags on File:ATTESTATION FFK Karaté .jpg you protected 1 month ago. You should watch too File:Waloud WW.jpg by the same user : I tagged it today. This personality (Walid Mabrouk) try to add his own article on french wikipedia (where I am administrator) before french election on 28th June but he is not notable enough to have its own article. Over the past few days thee have been a number of bot spam accounts created - they all have "review" in name so they are easy to see. I've found some of these accounts dating back to last year (& blocked by you at the time!). Okay, for Category:Photographs of flags of Hungary in Miskolc are there any pictures that incidentally contained flags. If so, can I still make cropped versions that only focuses on the flags. I need to write the tips down in the userpage so that I do not make the same mistakes in the future. Concern

Hello @Achim55 and Tm: I just found out that one of my files was tagged for deletion under some irrevelant motive (personal attack, vandalism, harassment). It should be noted that neither me, nor anyone of us are here to create trouble for anybody. I know my upload are problematic, and I should have been blocked due to such large uploading of copyright issue files. But I'm glad that the community has given me the chance to correct myself, and since June I'm working on to correct myself. So I don't want and can't bear this that the files which I have uploaded is used by for vandalism, harassment, threat to anybody (single or organisation). So I would like to request you to delete all my upload and if in the process you found that I should be blocked due to the higher number of copyright files upload. I would totally fine with it. Can you take a look at my effort to use SD template for 2 G7 deletions?

I uploaded 2 screencaps to commons for an AfD discussion, because I wanted to reference them in discussions at fr-wiki as well as en-wiki. Now that the AfDs have closed, I am concerned these screencaps could be used outside wiki to attack the people being quoted. Based on the AfD discussions, those people were ignorant of wiki policies, believed they had no COI because they were not being paid to edit, and sincerely believed they were helping the world by promoting their unsupported-by-scientific-research pain relief method. I am not sure what the right approach is to prevent doing them harm, so if you have a better idea, please make it so! The 2 files are File:GroupAttemptToManipulateWikipedia.jpg and File:Abuse of multiple Wikipedias to promote therapy unsupported by medical experts.jpg. Thanks for your help and advice in the past. Hallo Ricarda, ich habe alle durchgetestet und konnte mir alle in maximaler Auflösung ansehen. Die vom Speichervolumen größten (mehr als 20 MB) haben allerdings teilweise 8 bis 10 Sekunden gebraucht, waren aber auch einwandfrei. Gruß, Achim (talk) 19:55, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

Sophie, you can. There are always a content page and a corresponding talk page. "File:" and "File talk:", "User:" and User talk:", "Category:" and "Category talk:" etc. Everyone may edit any page (except some technically restricted ones), just other users' pages starting with "User:" are treated to be 'private property'. I have just nominated a set of files for deletion

I used to be able to do this as a batch task, but at User talk:Timtrent#Your VFC installation method is deprecated was given instructions on updating the batch files task. I think I am now in an incorrect status to enable the new gadget, since I have tried multiple times.

Please can you advise me? Is it as simple as asking for a status change? If so, whom do I ask, please?

My main experience is in en WP, as a new draft reviewer for w:WP:AFC. Often I see 'unusual' pictures uploaded here and come to offer them for deletion. Please ping me on any reply. I am not on commons regularly Timtrent (talk) 12:00, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

Hallo Optimist, wahrscheinlich ist es nicht so offensichtlich: Es besteht ein gewisser Widerspruch zwischen CC BY-SA und dem angefügten Text. Die CC BY-SA 4.0 gestattet ausdrücklich eine kommerzielle Nutzung, im Text steht aber "für nicht kommerzielle Verwendung", eins von beiden geht nur, oder es ist vielleicht missverständlich formuliert. Leider ist hier unter Commons eine Freigabe für ausschließlich nicht-kommerzielle Nutzung (NC) nicht möglich. Ich finde das auch nicht so dolle, aber die Regeln sind hier nun mal so. B. behaupten, ich wäre der Kaiser von China oder Angela Merkel. Deshalb bitte für die o. g. E-Mail eine glaubwürdige Absenderadresse benutzen (nicht ichbins@gmail.com oder so). Die Angaben werden vertraulich behandelt, nicht einmal Admins können deine E-Mail-Adresse sehen. Creating a category for "Frank Tweedy"?

Frank Tweedy (1854-1937) was a prolific cartographer and botanist, whose article is still in draft at en-wiki. A search for "Frank Tweedy" in Wikimedia Commons brings up many files. Some are maps where Tweedy did the cartography and some are botanical publications related to his work in botany. Since these are mostly files rather than images, I think a category is a better way to collect them than a gallery. But before I add a category "Frank Tweedy" to many files, I would like to see if you have advice. Thanks if you do (advice from other experienced editors also very welcome.) Hi Achim, I felt like reaching you here directly having done that on the talk page of my image previously. I am Olivia Arben. This is my picture in question. Here's the issue. This image "File:Olivia Arben London 2017.jpg" appears top in Google search when my name is searched. I don't really like that. I already have another image on commons which I really like to be on top. Here is it "File:Olivia Arben walking London Fashion Week 2019.jpg". So please, I want the previous image deleted from commons. I didn't authorize the uploader to add it here on commons. He is not the copyright owner. Alan West is my photographer who actually owns the copyright.

I corrected the geometry for this flag: File:Flag of the Republic of China.svg. In the current version the angle of each "white sun"'s ray is 29.862°: in my version is 30.000°, according to Taiwanese Law (see: en:Flag of the Republic of China#Construction details and .

Moreover, I simplified the internal structure, reducing the number of elements.

Request of: temporary removal of page protection

I improved the internal geometric structure for the "Star of David" in this files:

In the current versions, the "Star" is composed of two elements (2 opposing equilateral triangles, one superimposed on the other). This structure weighs down the file and does not take full advantage of the possibilities of geometry applied to Inkscape.

My version uses only one object (1 6-pointed star): this simple technical solution, simplifying the file structure, allows a significant reduction of bytes (approx. -60/65%). Also the possible management of the "Star of David" for the future will be easier.

Therefore, I ask you, please, (and if possible) the temporary removal of page protection for files listed above.

Versionslöschungen meiner User-Seiten möglich ?

Hallo Achim, ganz wenige meiner zahlreichen Uploads (pdf`n) der letzten 11-Jahre boten Anlass zur Kritik und wurden deshalb teilweise gelöscht. - Meine User-Seiten entsprachen auch nicht in allen Belangen zwingend den ehrbaren COMMONS-Zielen und ich habe beide Seiten in den letzten Tagen gründlich "entrümpelt", so dass sie keinen Anlass zur Aufregung resp. Beanstandung mehr bieten sollten. - Meine Frage : Besteht die Möglichkeit, zu meinen beiden Seiten (User / User-Talk) die Altversionen jeweils zu löschen, so dass auf beiden Seiten in der "History" nur noch der letzte/aktuelle Stand vom heutigen Tage (...und künftige neuere Versionen) aufrufbar und sichtbar wäre ? - Falls dies möglich wäre, würde ich Dir ein virtuelles - oder besser noch reales - gut gekühltes Bier vom Fass spendieren (....oder auch zwei) ! - MfG aus Köln --Gordito1869 (talk) 13:12, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

Hallo Michael, zwischen Benutzerseiten (User:) und Benutzerdiskussionsseiten (User talk:) ist ein himmelweiter Unterschied. Benutzerseiten sind Seiten des Benutzers und stehen "unter seiner Hoheit", da hat sonst keiner was zu editieren. Da lösche ich dir problemlos alles, was du möchtest. Benutzerdiskussionsseiten sind Seiten für den Benutzer, die (wie alle talk pages) typischerweise von anderen Usern oder IPs benutzt werden, um (wie eben jetzt auf dieser Seite) einem User eine Nachricht zu hinterlassen. Da löschen wir eigentlich gar nichts (außer in seltenen Sonderfällen, wenn z. B. jemand anonym bleiben möchte und irgendwer etwas geschrieben hat, was ihn identifizierbar macht, oder auch Sachen wie Beleidigungen oder schwerwiegender Vandalismus oder Missbrauch für Werbung o. ä.). Was für ein Zufall, ganau das wollte ich Dir alternativ anbieten; in der örtlichen Kloster-Kneipe vor kostet es um die 5-Euros (an der Küste habe ich es für 18-Euros für das 12er (!) auf einer Speisekarte gesehen, weil es eigentlich nicht für den öffentlichen/kommerziellen Ausschank von den Mönchen freigegeben wird/wurde (das Verkaufssystem der Mönche für ihre Holzkisten vor Ort ist abenteuerlich, aber bewusst so gewollt). - Nochmals Danke für Alles, ich behalte die Sache mit dem belg.
