There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

This message was added automatically by Nikbot, if you need some help about it please read the text above again and follow the links in it, if you still need help ask at the ? Commons:Help desk in any language you like to use. --Nikbot

Thanks for uploading File:Almanahul fratilia.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Almanahul fratilia.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

File:Atanas Hadzhipantaziev.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Ioakeim Smyrniotis[edit]

Hi, if this image from ca. 1900, it is impossible, that this image ist from only ten years later. At the first image he is a young, at the second an old man. 30 years or more must have passed. And the photographer of the later image is not unknown. The name is written at the left bottom of the image ("φωτο ΑΧ. ΝΙΚΟΛΑΓΑΝ"). And if he was born in 1885, the first image also can't be made around 1900. All images are later. You give false dates. Maybe the oldest image could be free. You have to bring a proof, that the other two are really free. And you have to fix the Dates and the known Photographer. Or the images must be deleted. Marcus Cyron (talk) 23:08, 31 May 2014 (UTC) PS: and now I find this. Never ever made in a time before 1920. You fake Dates, that the images will not be deleted! So you fake History and take away what they are worth from a historical view! Stop this in the future! Marcus Cyron (talk) 23:14, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'll take a look at what I've messed up but I suppose I forgot to update some info when I copy-pasted the template from the first image to the second (I used to do that in order to fill the template faster for similar photos with the old uploader). Regarding the author, just to be precise, the name on the left is the name of the studio, but I guess that's the same thing. By the way I didn't "fake" the date on this because I only uploaded a clearer version of the pic and never wrote any date on it. Thanks for pointing out the date on the second pic where the guy is older, so I can take a second look - obviously it was a mistake. P.S. By the way on this image he really looks circa 20 years old so I suppose that 2 years ago "circa 1900" seemed correct date to me but I don't mind if you'd like to change it to circa 1910 or something. I'll fix what I can for now (especially for the pic the guy is older - I'll take a look at the sources in the article).--Алиса Селезньова (talk) 15:16, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I tried to find some more info so I can remember what I had in mind when I uploaded them but it is obviously a mistake from a mass upload or something. Sorry - I'll mark the two photos where the guy is older for speedy deletion as a mistake.--Алиса Селезньова (talk) 07:13, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Jesus Pantokrator Koupa Church.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Pay attention to copyright
File:Nepokoren.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Serbs of Macedonia[edit]

Category:Serbs of Macedonia is too broad of a term; the scope of the sub-categories are Serbs in the Republic of Macedonia (or Serbs in what is today R. Macedonia/Vardar Macedonia). The scope is not Greek Macedonia or Pirin Macedonia. I hope you understand, and do not revert again without discussion.--Zoupan (talk) 17:35, 7 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the category is broad but it is the correct one. Macedonia is a real geographical term and it can be applied to the past. Republic of Macedonia is a modern state. For example, despot Jovan Oliver is a Serb of Macedonia but is definitely not a Serb of the Republic of Macedonia. And by the way in Greek Macedonia there were some villages and towns with people identifying themselves as Serbs in the beginning of 20th century (eg. Lerin/Florina).--Алиса Селезньова (talk) 17:40, 7 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Controversial moves[edit]

Hello, can you explain why you moved these files without explaining in the edit summary:

Moving a file that is in another language to an English language is controversial and requires consensus. I removed your universal replacements at User:CommonsDelinker/commands/filemovers, but I didn't reverted your moves. For me, I think the filenames before they were moved are already fine. You didn't even explained in the edit summary. Thanks, Poké95 11:34, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

THe new names are the correct English translations of the names of the documents. Not so with the original names. --Алиса Селезньова (talk) 12:36, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
But changing a filename to the English language is not mentioned at COM:FR, therefore it is controversial. However, I am will remain neutral on this move, so I am not opposing your move. However, your move is controversial, and seems to be unnecessary. Note that we have a lot of WMF projects in different languages, and that Commons is a multilingual project. If there was a mistake in the original filename, it is ok to move it to the right name (and even changing it to English is ok, as long as it is moved due to a mistake). Poké95 12:24, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
But there were mistakes in the original names. I don't know whether you speak Macedonian or Bulgarian but the first one translates as Appeal of Mac. to Bulgaria 1944 but in fact it is Appeal to the Macedonians of Bulgaria 1944 (not to mention the meaningless D10 in the beginning). The second one is Resolution of the Comintern about the Nat. Question 1934 but in the fact it is Comintern Resolution on the Macedonian Question and IMRO (United) 1934. The third one translates as Appeal from Shatev 1938 which is partially correct since Shatev is one of the authors of the exposé but there are two others so I have changed it to the full name of the exposé.--Алиса Селезньова (talk) 08:40, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't speak Macedonain nor Bulgarian. But it seems that your statement is reasonable, and will not be controversial. I will re-add to CommonsDelinker queues. Next time, please use the edit summary (if it is too long, just say see the file's talk page and add your long reason in the talk page) so there will be no problems. Thanks! Poké95 09:39, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Kebir Mehmed Čelebi Mosque[edit]

Since the mosque Kebir Mehmed Čelebi Mosque is in Macedonia under the juris̟diction of Macedonian institutions, the name will be in Macedonian. I will revert your contibs since you rename Banya Bashi Mosque in Sofia to original name Banyabaşı Camii or Banyabaşı Mosque. Mersi i pozzdrav--Rašo 15:43, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Zdrasti Raso, I do think that they should be in Turkish because that is how they are in English, so I will move Banyabaşı too. NOt that I mind if they stay in mk or bg. :) Pozdravi.--Алиса Селезньова (talk) 09:08, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I do not agree. Should be MK and BG churches from byzantine time in greek transcription? Of course NOT. I think we shall be having further discussion about naming like this.--Rašo 15:36, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As I said, I really don't care - I just think that we should follow the names in the English Wikipedia that we generally follow because English is the main language here in Commons. My only request is if you move any categories, to update them also in Wikidata.--Алиса Селезньова (talk) 15:39, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nonsence Alisa, this is also discutable. Kebir Mehmed Çelebi is not more english than Kebir Mehmed Čelebi. Es i sad, the objects should have name from the language where they originate.--Rašo 22:18, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Important message for file movers[edit]

A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.

Possible acceptable uses of this ability:

  • To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
  • To perform file name swaps.
  • When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)

Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.

The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. Questions regarding this right should be directed to administrators. --Majora (talk) 21:36, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
