Your comments at my adminship discussion were very vague and puzzling. Whatever user you were referring to, you should have formally requested a checkuser instead of making very vague accusation. I have never been globally banned, and because you did not name names I don't know what information you want. Were you trying to accuse me of being part of the Mejlis or something? Either bring up a check user or don't mention it at all - the admin nomination is not where such comments belong. And you keep dodging the question - what banned account are you referring to? What similar edits make you think such things? What are the "similarities" that you are even looking for? What the heck do you want? What was the purpose of bringing up such a vague and confusing statement with negative implications? You brought it up. I hope you see how your statement is certainly troublesome. Apparently some of my edits that you are unwilling to specify resemble that of a banned account that you are also unwilling to specify, and if you are asked for further information you continue to reply with non-answers. How do I know that you didn't just make the whole thing up in the first place to hurt my character? Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and it is rude to suggest the possibility of someone being a sockpuppet without even naming the banned account and evidences against them. What if I commented something like that about you, and continued to refuse to specify anything about who I thought you were or why yet continued to maintain to have noticed unspecified similarities to an unspecified problem-maker? There is a banned user indeed, who a) was banned some months before you registered, b) is interested in aviation, c) is native English speaker with claimed understanding in reading Russian, d) is aggressive and seeking conflicts. So, yes, some similarities, which hopefully are coincidental. I will not call them by name because a) not willing to give them more importance than they deserve, b) someone who IS willing already did it, as you may have read. I joined in December 2015 and didn't start writing aviation articles until much later, originally just uploading photos of planes at BWI to Commons. My first article Advanced Bionics was deleted for notability issues, and after a lot of notability problems I eventually settled on translation. If you read my enwiki userpage, you will see that I articles I created that weren't Soviet are the earlier ones, and all the more recent ones are the Soviet stuff. I just started going through Russavias edits and veiwing his former userpage, but it seems like all he did was create redirects and stubs. What a useless and unproductive user. And to think he called himself a Russofile and praised the Tu-104 death trap! I probably would have gotten into quite a few spats with him if he wasn't already blocked when I started writing my articles.--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 00:06, 17 July 2019 (UTC)

Не знаю, что там решили в Википедии. В англовики множество примеров уличной мебели, ворот и заборов там нет. Здесь всё понятнее. Category:Gates не связана с Category:Street furniture. Если честно, я бы удивился, если бы было иначе. Едва ли межкомнатные двери или стальную дверь для вашей квартиры вы купите в мебельном магазине. --A.Savin 19:42, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

По-моему, там написано, что добавление элементов, один из которых является под/надклассом или частным случаем другого, было бы overcategorization, а не наоборот (что было бы странно). А мост не является подклассом реки (то, что его категория может быть подкатегорией реки, — недостаток системы категорий по сравнению с Викиданными). В File:Крымский_мост_ВДОЛЬ_-_panoramio.jpg реки не видно. К тому же, там можно указать, какие объекты наиболее заметны. --AVRS (talk) 03:08, 30 July 2019 (UTC)

JJ Harrison editing discussion on Commons FPC

Hi. As I said on the current FP nom, I have been in discussion with JJ about blurring foregrounds etc. and he has assured me he doesn't do it. This is really tricky for me as I don't have the same equipment. Can you have a look closely at the foreground of this photo. Am I seeing things? It so looks like manual blurring. I'd love to be proved wrong. BTW, it's a nom on English Wikipedia FP and I've opposed on aesthetic grounds. Thanks. Charles (talk) 09:27, 2 August 2019 (UTC)

I don't know, it looks unnatural to me anyway, and given the seagull picture that looks like a montage, everything is possible to me. Hallo A.Savin,

bald ist es soweit: Vom 1. bis zum 30. September 2019 findet zum neunten Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments statt. Dabei können Bau- und Kulturdenkmale fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Deshalb laden wir dich ein, dieses Jahr wieder mitzumachen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Fotos!

Es sind viele spannende Motive überall in Deutschland zu fotografieren. Neben beeindruckenden märchenhaften Schlössern, Burgen und Kirchen können auch andere Kulturdenkmale wie Brücken, Industrieruinen, Bauernhöfe oder Parks fotografiert werden, um sie unter anderem in der Wikipedia zu dokumentieren. In den letzten Jahren sind zahlreiche neue Denkmallisten entstanden, die sich über Fotos freuen. Für die Suche nach Motiven gibt es bei Wikipedia zahlreiche Listen und Karten. Als Einstieg hilft diese Übersichtsseite. Weitere Informationen erhältst du auf der Mitmach-Seite.

Du bist interessiert, am Wettbewerb mitzuwirken, dir fehlt aber die richtige Technik? Dann wirf doch mal einen Blick in den Technikpool und das Technikleihportal von Wikimedia Deutschland! Dort findest du Kameras, Objektive und Zubehör verschiedenster Art. Sollte noch Technik fehlen, die aber in Zukunft unbedingt benötigt wird, dann freut sich Wikimedia Deutschland über dein Feedback zum Technikpool.

Außerdem laden wir Dich ein, ab Mitte September 2019 an der Vorjury teilzunehmen. Diese bewertet die hochgeladenen Bilder und ermittelt so gemeinsam mit der Jury, die im Oktober tagt, die Sieger von Wiki Loves Monuments 2019 in Deutschland. Thanks for considering our proposal Alexander. Yes, we would be using Montage and emails would be used mainly to notify judges when a judging round starts and if there is anything specific to be discussed. The initial screening rounds will be done by the WLM India team and judges will have to decide on the top images to choose the national winning 10. The judges round will start between 10th and 15th October and we plan to complete it by 25th of October so that we can submit the final 10 by end of that month. Some times the day date category become so enlarged that a category just for a particular subject could prove to be very useful. As for the templat. Surely you cant object to a gentle reminder, especially for the young who may be interested in photographing trains. Массовая ошибка

Добрый день. При заливке фото допустил ошибку. Нужно исправить названия файлов с "File:Крым, Варламов, март 2013, 02.jpg" на "Крым, Варламов, март 2014, 02.jpg". Hallo A.Savin! Als Administrator solltest Du Dir

  1. ansehen warum sich hier alle duzen, was wohl auch für Commons gelten dürfte und
  2. ansehen mit wem Du es zu tun hast, ehe Du jemanden bezichtigst (QI Nominierung für File:Grub_Kellergasse_Berggasse_17.jpg), er würde bewußte Störaktionen betreiben, was ich nur als ungeheuerliche Unterstellung bezeichnen kann, die einem Admin nicht zusteht und ihn in dieser Funktion disqualifiziert.

Meine Kameraprobleme sind inzwischen sattsam bekannt und dürften nur bei Dir noch nicht angekommmen sein, weshalb ich sie bei dem beanstandeten Foto nochmals ausführlich geschildert habe. Und da ich auf dem Display meines Notebooks die offenbar zu Recht beanstandeten Fehler nicht erkennen kann, ist es mir auch nicht möglich, allfällige fehlerhafte Aufnahmen vor der Nominierung auszuscheiden. So bleiben mir nur zwei Möglichkeiten: Entweder weitere „Störaktionen“ zu betreiben oder Dir anzubieten, meine für eine Nominierung vorgesehenen Fotos vorher zu sichten.

Alle meine Tätigkeiten sowohl in WP als auch in Commons zielen darauf ab, Leute die diese Medien lediglich zu Auskunftszwecken nutzen, auch zur aktiven Mitarbeit zu animieren. Und weil es auch in WP ähnliche Vorfälle gibt, so ist es nicht verwunderlich, daß die meisten meiner Mentees sehr bald nach ihrer durchaus erfolgten „Grundausbildung“ im Mentorenprogramm sehr bald das Handtuch geworfen haben. a) Auf Commons gibt es kein Zwangs-Duzen, Sie sind offensichtlich sehr viel älter als ich und haben mir nicht explizit das Duzen angeboten, also gebietet es mir persönlich die Höflichkeit, das Sie-Anrede zu benutzen.
b) "Meine Kameraprobleme [...] dürften [...] bei Dir noch nicht angekommmen sein": falsch.
c) Ich habe Ihnen nicht mit Sperre gedroht. Das wäre der Fall, wenn ich eine ausdrückliche Warnung auf Ihrer Diskussionsseite oder sonstwo erlassen hätte mit der Bitte, Ihre Aktionen zu unterlassen.
d) Sie haben eine dritte Möglichkeit ausgespart: einfach das exzessive Nominieren vorerst sein zu lassen und erst wieder aufzunehmen, wenn der Sensor repariert ist und neue Fotos keine Streifen mehr haben. Aber Bescheidenheit war wohl noch nie Ihre Stärke und es muss wirklich alles den grünen Siegel bekommen.

FPs/FVs

Hi,

I saw you added some FVs to categories for FPs. Was this an accident, or are the categories going to be shared? My sense is that only files which have gone through the FPC process should be in FP categories? — Rhododendrites talk |  19:32, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

Just a different process with different kinds of standards applied. Same number of supports, but there are things being promoted at FVC that would not necessarily have been promoted at FPC, for example. I'm not 100% sure what Eatcha was thinking when they separated FVC from FPC, but in my understanding, formerly FPC promoted videos are automatically Featured videos now, and any video, to get promoted nowadays, has to be nominated on FVC rather than FPC which is now only left for still pictures such as photos, artworks, graphics, maps, etc. So, if we still assume that a video is a picture too, and videos that get promoted on FVC receive same "Featured video" label as videos that had been promoted on FPC, I see no logical inconsistence in categorizing Featured videos as "Featured pictures". --A.Savin 00:50, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
I actually like that it's a separate process. I think that COM:FSC probably doesn't have much a future, and perhaps should merge into WP:FVC to create on "featured media" or something, but there has never been particularly good criteria that apply for video, and it seems like people at FPC have at times struggled to apply typical criteria to them. It's possible it could just be changed, but I think having a specific process for video may, in time, encourage more people to work with video. We'll see.
As for what counts, I don't think there's been any substantial discussion on the matter. I think it was just Eatcha that turned videos that were promoted through FPC into FVs. IMO the processes should stay separate, and video FPs should only be tagged as FVs if they pass through that process. Regardless, but it didn't strike me as making sense to turn Featured Videos into Featured Pictures (there's a logic in turning videos under pictures into videos, but not videos under videos into pictures). Explanation: Commons:Featured video candidates/File:Lake Urmia Google Earth Timelapse 1984–2018.webm should automatically be added into Category:Featured videos of time-lapse after creation of the category. Добрый день, уважаемый A.Savin. Пишу Вам, так как не смог найти шаблона проверки лицензии на викискладе.

Обнаружил, что участник Volodomrson71193 массово заливает фотографии автомобилей "Москвич" со ссылками на сайт drive2.ru. Его фото - фото Москвичей 2142 и 2141. Названия:

Владелец автомобилей написан один, автор фотографии указан другой. По нику - вообще невозможно понять, автор ли это. Могли бы Вы проверить допустимость использования файлов, залитых этим участником, за викискладе?

Вас не просят делать именно так, но это упрощает фотографу процедуру выдачи разрешения. Фотограф копирует тамошний текст, шлёт его по е-майлу на permissions-commons@wikimedia.org, и ждёт подтверждения. Вообще-то, по умолчанию, владельцем авторских прав на фотографию является именно её фотограф. Category:Photographs by A.Savin/Czechia renamed

Hello, A.Savin. In the process of resolving some duplicate photographs categories for the country of Czechia/Czech Republic, I needed to change a parameter for the invocation of User:A.Savin/F in various files. Here is an example of the change I made. It needed to be done because there were photographs categories with duplicate dates (for example, Czech Republic photographs taken on <date> and Czechia photographs taken on <same date>).

That modification changed the name of the general photographs categories, but it also changed the name of Category:Photographs by A.Savin/Czechia. To resolve this, I renamed that category. I'm letting you know in case you want that category to keep the name "Czechia". You could change your user template so that it uses different country names for that category and the general one (for example, Category:Czech Republic photographs taken on 2016-07-20). Фотографии сделаны при оказании услуг студийной съемки, фотограф имел денежное вознаграждение и не против размещения данных фотографий. Что необходимо сделать, чтобы легализовать данные фотографии на wikiскладе? Возможно требуется привлечение фотографа?

Boathouses in Russia

  • Получается смешение: в одной категории стоит "лодочный павильон... для хранения лодок" (Муромцево) и Ботный дом, который был построен как центр музея-усадьбы. Вынести ботик из Ботного дома невозможно, окна и двери не позволяют такого, поэтому ботик был внесён в Ботный дом во время строительства стен. Не зная, что делать, хочу подчеркнуть многосмысленность и разнобой.
