- @Deborahdeyoung: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload a smaller (<50KB or <5MP) jpg photo as a new user while leaving the summary intact. The photo you tried to upload is smaller, and you wrote it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads a smaller photo, it is a copyright violation taken from the web. If you took the photo yourself, please upload the full-size original of it, including EXIF metadata. If you did not take the photo, please see Commons:Licensing for why we can't accept it, and have the photographer post Commons:Licensing compliant permission for such works on their website or social media presence or send the photo and permission via OTRS with a carbon copy to you. If you change the summary or use our Upload Wizard instead, you should be able to avoid that filter. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 01:03, 1 June 2019 (UTC)

- @Yiemfong: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload a png logo as a new user while leaving the summary intact. Such uploads of png logos are not allowed at all. You said it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads a png logo, it's a copyright violation taken from the web. Please upload the full-size original of it, including EXIF metadata, but it may be judged too complex to be under TOO in the country of origin, so you may need to license it on your website or social media or send permission via OTRS. Also, any png image will look fuzzy when scaled down or jaggy when scaled up, so you may want to upload an svg or jpg version, too. If you change the summary or use our Upload Wizard instead, you should be able to avoid that filter. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 22:18, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Jasony3131 reply: thanks for the explanation. I was literally standing at the location after having just shot the photo. Yes, it was my work. Not sure why your system was making it so difficult to do a simple thing, and frankly, uploading a bunch of stuff to prove that I was legit isn't worth my time. I respect that you're trying to avoid copyright infringement but your net was too tight in this case. Probably the last time I'll edit anything on Wiki. It's just not worth the hassle. Cheers.

- @Harrison Andeko: Hi, and welcome. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 14:23, 13 June 2019 (UTC)

- @Radical Materials Ltd: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload a smaller (<50KB or <5MP) jpg logo as a new user while leaving the summary intact. The logo you tried to upload is smaller, and you said it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads a smaller logo, it's a copyright violation taken from the web. Please upload the full-size original of it, including EXIF metadata, but it may be judged too complex to be under TOO in the country of origin, so you may need to post COM:L compliant permission for such works on your website or social media presence or send permission via OTRS because we don't allow Fair Use here. Also, any raster image will look jaggy when scaled up, so you may want to upload an svg version, too. If you want to use the file on English Wikipedia, please read WP:F. If you change the summary or use our Upload Wizard instead, you should be able to avoid that filter. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 22:40, 20 June 2019 (UTC)

I attempted twice; the first time, I received a warning that I had attempted to blank the page. I back-arrowed, checked that all of the Wiki mark-up was in order, and tried again. That time, I received a generic "unconstructive edit" disallow message. Filters 4 (page blanking) and 135 (creating blank pages) were both triggered both times.
- Comments: I've used FileImporter on other projects before without issues. Is this perhaps related to restrictions on English Wikipedia involving the File Mover rights, or do those not apply to cross-wiki uploads? The examine function on the abuse log entries indicate that the page was, indeed, blank, but I'm not sure how or why that happened. —Compassionate727 (T·C) 15:49, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

- Comments: I took the picture at an event in 2017, so it's mine. The image is also a cropped image of the star's head and shoulders, so nothing is inappropriate about the image. Sebastian Constantines (talk) 20:34, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

- @Chace Piper: Hi, and welcome. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 14:59, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

- Comments: Should be easy to upload a logo. BigBigL (talk) 15:04, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
- @BigBigL: Hi, and welcome. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 15:12, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

- @SMHS History: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload a png photo as a new user while leaving the summary intact. Such uploads of png photos are not allowed at all. You said it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads a png photo, it's a copyright violation taken from the web. Please upload the full-size original of it, including EXIF metadata, but if you were not the original photographer, that person may need to send permission via OTRS with a carbon copy to you.
