Please undelete this Image:Ubaidi Zokoni.jpg and other similar photos that are listed in my talk page. The author of these works are clearly indicated. And one more photo Image:Nasimi_isfara.JPG do not delete it, please. It was taken by me and is not copyrighted. --Ibrahimjon 18:06, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You specified "Artist: Immodinova C." on the image page. You yourself give your name as "Ibrahimjon Rustamov" on your user page. You licensed the images as {{self2|GFDL|cc-by-2.5}}. We need permission from the artist. Lupo 18:44, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What I made wrong mentioning artist's name? Some folks even said that I mentioned my name as an artist. These pictures are everywhere in Tajikistan. People even make posters out of it, teachers are encouraged to print them out to use in teaching. I am trying every efforts to find out and meet with Immodinova but not successful.
I wonder if there is a license that could such kind of images that could be deleted if required by their authors.
It is really to disappointing to see how bots mess up my talk page with warnings, even for those images that are my own. Consider how maybe difficult for people in countries where uploading media is too consuming and not spending hours to write comments for every warning spams that bots generate.--Ibrahimjon 12:56, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you are not artist and the artist did not create the work as a work for hire for you, then you are not the copyright holder as you claimed by using {{Self}} and you may not issue any licences to the work. The fact that a work is widely distributed does not mean that it is not protected by copyright, and no, we can't violate copyright laws and just wait for copyright holders to complain about it.
You have only had two bot messages posted to your user talk page (the rest were left by other users). Both were appropriate messages, because you had failed to provide valid source and licensing information as instructed by Commons:First steps, Commons:Licensing and during the upload process. Please do read those texts. Instead of dismissing those warnings as "spam" (which they are not), you should heed them. LX (talk, contribs) 10:17, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This category was deleted on 21:24, 24 November 2006 for the reason: empty, unused category; redundant to Guangzhou Metro. This is not a valid reason and the deletion of correct categories (see Guangzhou Metro) is contrary to Commons policy.

Category:Guangzhou Metro is necessary to classification operations, so I request its undeletion. --Juiced lemon 16:13, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The image Image:Logotipo_ceibal_baja.jpg is a logotype and has no copyright restrictions. Ceibal is a governamental project. The logo is also available in the official site: http://www.ceibal.edu.uy/

Could you please undelete it? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 200.125.49.198 (talk • contribs) at 11:14, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That image was deleted 01:45, 7 June 2007 (UTC) by D-Kuru (talk | contribs) for being a logo. Was it the logo in the top left corner of CEIBAL at http://www.ceibal.edu.uy/? If so, I see no evidence of that logo being free, and the upload log shows no evidence of date, author, or permission.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 19:55, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that was this logo. Someone with knowledge in intellectual property in Uruguay to close this request? — Xavier, 11:44, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should deny this request. Uruguayan copyright law states that works by the government are "perpetually protected," not released into the public domain. --Boricuæddie 00:58, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please can you explain the deletion of this article

Wikimedia Commons doesn't host articles just images, sound clips, videos, that sort of stuff; for articles, you'll want Wikipedia. Hope this helps. Image:Greystitle.jpg was deleted with the comment that the title is copyrighted. Titles cannot be copyrighted; otherwise, companies would have the ability to prevent people from using the titles of their works. It is correct to say that the title itself -- "Grey's Anatomy" -- is not copyrighted. This image of the title, however, is both copyrightable and very likely registered as a trademark as well. (Hollywood is obsessive about such things.) I'd remove it. MikeGodwin 18:42, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This category was deleted on 09:28, 4 September 2007 for the reason: {{duplicate|:Category:Statues of animals}}' (and the only contributor was User:Postdlf). This reason is nonsense, since we have developed structures in Commons from both Category:Sculptures and Category:Statues, which are different subjects (consult a dictionary). More, the deletion of correct categories is contrary to Commons policy.

Category:Sculptures of animals is needed for the classification operations, so I request its undeletion. --Juiced lemon 13:16, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This category was deleted on 15:40, 9 June 2007 for the reason: content was: '{{badname|Category:Egyptian antiquities collections}}'.That is a technical detail, not a reason. More, the deletion of correct categories is contrary to Commons policy.

It's pathetic to realize that some administrators are unable to open a dictionary and learn the meaning of simple words, like the difference between a “collection” and a “museum”. As long as no basic knowledge is required for adminship, it would be better to forbid the deletion of categories for spurious reasons.

Category:Egyptological museums is necessary for classification operations, therefore I request its undeletion. --Juiced lemon 10:28, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bozin Pavlovski[edit]

Bozin Pavlovski (novelist)

Bozin Pavlovski is born in Macedonia on 7 January 1942. After living in former Yugoslavia and United States, from 1990 he is based in Melbourne, Australia. Pavlovski studied literature at the University of Skopje and graduated in 1971. For over thirty years he was a publisher of world literature in former Yugoslavia. Since 1989, he has divided his time as a professional novelist traveling between Europe and Australia.

Bozin Pavlovski has written fourteen novels in Macedonian, out of which ten have been translated in English in collaboration with authors and friends, including James Thomev, Biljana John, Michael Serafinov and his daughter Elena Ciavarella, with supervision by Irina Dunn. The novels are: ‘Winter in Summer’, ‘Home is Where the Heart is’, ‘The Red Hypocrite’, ‘Eagle Coat of Arms’, ‘A Novel for My Departure’, ‘Journey with My Beloved’, ‘Egyptian Dreamer’, ‘The Agony of Macedonia’, ‘The Milk of Human Kindness’, ‘The Beauty and the Marauder’.

In 1988 Bozin Pavlovski was elected as a member of Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts in the Department of Literature. There are more than 40 foreign editions, and more than 150 Macedonian editions of his works.

Pavlovski has won numerous literary awards including Interbalkan Award for Literature in Greece (2002).

References

The works of Pavlovski have resulted in bibliography comprising of almost thousand entries. Alain Bosquet wrote about the French translation of the novel ‘West Aust’ in "Le Monde”,” this novel has an astonishing stratified multi-Iayered projection with a two fold drama". Yann Queffelec emphasized in "Le Nouvel Observateur" that "a powerful and truthful novel in which the words are full of meaning and warmth" had been brought before the French readers, whereas Nichita Stanescu compared Pavlovski with some distinguished American novelists in "Luceafarul".

What characterizes Bozin Pavlovski’s opus as a whole is the fresh starts of each work. The poetic and structural art of his fiction is matched by the larger philosophical themes, wrote Darie Novaceanu in "Cartea romaneasca".

In his short stories, and particularly in his novels, Pavlovski has reached new creative peaks in contemporary fiction: he has made the large theme of emigration his very own, giving it a focus both indispensable and necessary.

Two things characterize the novels of Pavlovski: the outer world of the wanderer or migrant and the inner world of the passionate seeker of a centre of gravity for the ethical questions that assail the restless individual in our times. Pavlovski has deepened the vision of human destiny in dealing with unfortunate people with divided souls, dissecting humanity in a new society – his heroes experience conflicts, which augments their loneliness and estrangement.

The most remarkable job that Pavlovski does is to create heroes with capacity to tremble in the air a few fingers above the ground after it has been pulled from under their feet. The analysis of the characters and their existential dilemmas in all their concrete detail is done in a style that is lucid, passionate and astonishing.

Minerva_statue_Cherbourg.jpg[edit]

qwikipedia could bring back the picture of Minerva statue Cherbourg please

I'm afraid, looking at the deletion discussion here, it's not going to be possible to restore the image. The image was under a Non Commercial licence which is incompatible with Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. Our work is redistributed by others who may use work for Commercial Purposes (even sites carrying adverts can be classified as commercial). There's also the question of derivative artwork legislation, I'm completely unaware of the nature of the statue, it's location and such, but in some circumstances, a photograph of a 3D artwork can be considered a derivative work, and thus falls under the copyright of the sculptor/creator of the 3D work. There's different rules and regulations on this depending on where you upload the photo and where the image was taken, so if you've any concerns about that, don't hesitate to ask. I am the creator and original uploader of this image and I request that it be removed from Wikimedia because the subject release I hold is not compatible with the image's current licensing.

A deletion request for this image was made [1] here. My contribution to the discussion was ignored and the deletion request closed.

I uploaded the image several years ago - before the licensing guidelines - with a clear disclaimer that it was to be used only for 'educational use'. Thereafter, the image was deleted and reuploaded (and improperly re-licensed) by Guidod as part of the switchover to more strict licensing guidelines.

The subject release from the depicted individual I have in my possession indicates that educational use is the only permissible use. This is too narrow to release the image under the GFDL. Therefore, in my reading the continued hosting of the image on Wikimedia Commons places me in violation of Federal U.S. copyright law, and its presence on Wikimedia Commons places Wikimedia in violation of the same laws.

Please delete the image from all Wikimedia servers. Ikkyu2 21:07, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bradley01 to Bradley23, What is the solution then??[edit]

If people think that the images are screenshots from a videogame, What am I supposed to do then? It's my own work. I am the creator of these images. What do I need to do to put them back up again? What exactly is required from me to do here?? no one is giving me the answer. I created this 3D model and I rendered the images and then uploaded them.

Thanks, Sincerely, Zaid

Hi Zaid - it might help if you tell us what the images are meant to represent? I'm prepared to believe that you created them from scratch if you tell me that. Otherwise I'm sure you realise what it looks like to us :) Cheers, ~ Riana 03:15, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh ok, sure. I'll tell you. I'm an online student and was taking this 3DSMAX course and we had to create a Full tank with it's surrounding environment and present it as our final project and this Bradley was my final project in the course and I scored A because of it. I placed these images in our class forum and now it is not working.

User:Zirland deleted another image that had a clean license. [2] How is it possible for this image to be copyright violation when it is in the public domain and the image was created in 1897 by the British officers [3] The subject in the image (en:Abdur Rahman Khan) died in 1901, more than 100 years ago. The person who took the picture is not listed, mostly likely he also died more than 70 years ago. So I strongly believe that this image is perfectly ok to be uploaded again. If it is then I will like it to be undeleted or that it be OK so I can go ahead and upload the same image from that site my self.--Executioner 17:14, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Comment. What's taking long? I believe the correct license to use is PD-UK-unknown for this image.--Executioner 18:14, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Restored. It appears to be a mere scan of a PD-Old image. I would leave the copyright tag as it is; PD-UK-unknown would normally be used for a more modern image that is permissible uner the 'anonymous works' section of the UK copyright Act. --MichaelMaggs 07:13, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not allowing pictures of commons objects such as milk cartons is absurd. As long as the object isn't making a counterfeit product the use is non-infringing. -Nard 23:14, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not so I'm afraid. Even though a milk carton is a common product, the picture and the design printed on the front have copyright which we must respect. Simply posting here infringes that copyright. --MichaelMaggs 07:22, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Serious accident avoided rad dose.png This picture should be returned. It was removed with the unspesified reason of having "essential information" missing. The picture had all information on lisence and authorship and there was a permission to use it, so everything was in order. The deletion might have been accidental. It is very important in many articles about radiation safety and protection and as a result of the deletion there are many broken links in Commons and national Wikipedias alike.

Cover of the book BOLDNESS written by my father Carmelo Torres and designed by me in 1991. Carlos Alfredo Torres Fletcher 2310 Windmere Ct Marietta Georgia The 30062 USA. I am the Copyright holder of the work , because teh following reasons:

a- I am the author of the photography (Bullring of Can Cún Mexico year 1979) b- I am the designer of this cover and c- I am the successor of the copyright work of Carmelo Torres which passed away in 2003.

I do not have any idea why you are deleting this file because I did all the claims on the uploading.

We get a lot of uploads by people who think that uploading someone else's work to Commons or scanning a book cover makes them the copyright holder, so since you didn't provide the same sort of detail in the image description as you did here, that's probably why it was deleted. Your claims seem credible, so I would support undeletion, but we'll give others a little time to comment. LX (talk, contribs) 17:44, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear LX: I denounced LUPO as a Vandal, he already deleted the image. Who regulated the so named "administrators"? How you can stop him in order to protect this page of such vandalic acts? Thanks in advance. As you can see I put my request and even dough he still deleted the image. the preceding unsigned comment was added by Cartof (talk • contribs) 12:38, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Would've been nice of User:Cartof to tell me about this undeletion request. I'm not clairvoyant! Note that the articles Cat Fletcher, Carmelos Torres, and Miriam Fletcher are all unsourced. The only confirmation on Cat Fletcher I've been able to find is an (otherwise empty) IMDB entry saving that one "Carlos Fletcher" was the co-producer of Street Survival.[6] Please also see Commons:Deletion requests/Image:Cat Fletcher.jpg... Please be civil. User:Lupo is not a vandal. Be very careful about using such terms to describe well-established contributors. The initial deletion may well have been based on a misunderstanding, but in any case, you have been clearly instructed not to recreate deleted images yourself until the matter has been resolved here, which it hasn't been yet. I neither have the will nor the means to stop another administrator from deleting the images if you recreate them yourself outside of process. In fact, I'd be more likely to prevent out-of-process recreation.
Administrators are appointed by vote at Commons:Administrators/Requests and votes. In Lupo's case, the vote was 24 in favour to one against.
The uploads will be restored by an administrator if that is found to be the appropriate action. Please be patient. LX (talk, contribs) 14:14, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Note further that the uploader has already re-uploaded the image as Image:Audacia2.jpg. Lupo 14:17, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This had been tagged as ineligible for copyright due to simplicity, and was deleted as a copyvio. It was an SVG of [8]. I'm not sure if it's ineligible, and I haven't found any guidance for determining if something is. I think this needs more input. --NE2 18:40, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Undeleted, as the copy on the English Wikipedia is marked as PD. 哦,是吗?(O-person) 00:48, 24 December 2007 (GMT)

Hello, Majorly deleted this image saying it has copyright violation. However, the image shows only Free Software, was made by me, and I released it to the public domain. Unfortunately I checked the logs and Majorly is inactive for more then one month now, so please undelete the image. If there is any information missing on the image I can fix it, but I can't upload a new one because I don't know any more where the original is. A quick undeletion is important because the image is necessary on the Lazarus articles on many languages and I would like to readd the image to them.

thanks --Sekelsenmat 12:07, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, the picture does not show the editor alone. It also shows parts of the Windows interface: the title bars of the windows and the background image. It is very likely that these are protected by copyright. Icons of other programs can be seen as well, these may also be copyrighted. You can try to follow the instructions in Commons:Licensing#Screenshots, to create a free screenshot of the program. --rimshottalk 14:06, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
