WikiportraitBot (talk · contribs)

Operator: The Dutch OTRS team, the bot is maintained by Daniuu (talk · contributions · Statistics · Recent activity · block log · User rights log · uploads · Global account information)

Bot's tasks for which permission is being sought: The bot will do two tasks on Wikimedia Commons:

  • When an image that was uploaded through Wikiportret is approved by a trusted volunteer with the required access (this will always be an OTRS-member), the bot is activated and creates a category carrying the name of the person in the image. The category will contain an infobox, which will later be coupled to the correct Wikidata item.
  • Following some actions on Wikidata, it will purge the cache of the category created above, to update the information in the Wikidata infobox.
  • (Addition to the original request): the bot will also add the P180/P6305 property to the image.

Manually Assisted: User must manually confirm every run of the bot (which equals two edits, as described above)

Edit type (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): The bot will run when triggered by a volunteer from the team.

Maximum edit rate (e.g. edits per minute): 5

Bot flag requested: (Y/N): Yes

Programming language(s): Python 3.7 (no additional frameworks, like PyWikiBot are used)

Please make a test run. --Krd 08:55, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Krd: sure. --Daniuu (talk) 17:14, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[1] shows a red link? --Krd 13:51, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Krd: This one seems to be added by the Wikidata infobox. I've fixed it, but this category is usually present (and it is not explicitly checked by the bot, but could be added in the future). --Daniuu (talk) 09:07, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I think this can be approved if nothing arises in the next few days. --Krd 09:33, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Approved. --Krd 17:43, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
