There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

This message was added automatically by Nikbot, if you need some help about it please read the text above again and follow the links in it, if you still need help ask at the ? Commons:Help desk in any language you like to use. --Nikbot 03:56, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

File:Flag of Yoshida Kagoshima.JPG has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Unfortunately, this image contains an embedded raster with no vector data, and so is not really good for much in its current form. AnonMoos (talk) 09:50, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ditto File:Sanmu Chiba chapter.svg... -- AnonMoos (talk) 09:55, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I uploaded a vectorized version of File:Sanmu Chiba chapter.svg -- it has some rough edges, but it's true vector. AnonMoos (talk) 10:56, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I really don't understand Japanese, except insofar as Google translate can help (which doesn't seem to be much). If you don't know any English, you need to find a Japanese-language tutorial on Inkscape and vectorization. I may try to improve File:Sanmu Chiba chapter.svg after a few days, but in general I don't have much interest in vectorizing the Japanese municipal emblems which are "freeform" (i.e. not constrained by geometrical relationships), because that's not my talent. I don't generally use Inkscape to edit SVG files, but rather only to test or convert SVG files... AnonMoos (talk) 20:28, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Smoothed the edges of File:Sanmu Chiba chapter.svg a little, still may not be ideal... AnonMoos (talk) 12:06, 24 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Did one final tweak (as far as I'm concerned) on File:Sanmu Chiba chapter.svg. I really don't obtain much information from Google Translate, so there's no need to reply if you're going to do so in Japanese only. AnonMoos (talk) 16:31, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Otoyo Kochi chapter.JPG. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

[edit]

--Mti (talk) 03:52, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Shimada Shizuoka chapter.JPG.

Thank you.

Uploads with svg tag

[edit]

Hi Mti, when you upload files could you please use the specific svg conversion tags like "symbol" and "flag". You are making the parent category pretty useless otherwise.

Cheers --Cwbm (commons) (talk) 13:04, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

Please when you upload files with {{ConverttoSVG}} use {{ConverttoSVG|flag}} for flags and {{ConverttoSVG|symbol}} for symbols.

[edit]

--Los688 (talk) 00:19, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

--Mti (talk) 00:49, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

--Mti (talk) 00:53, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

--Los688 (talk) 09:31, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

--Mti (talk) 10:39, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

License information

[edit]

Hello mti

Could you please explain why you are removing license information from files uploaded by me? When I make a derivative work of public domain image, I have the right to choose license for it and you may not change it. Example: https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Symbol_of_Hokudan_Hyogo_chapter.svg&diff=122012105&oldid=121993040

I have already been warned about missing license information because of your edits: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Wgn#Copyright_status:_File:Symbol_of_Hamada_Shimane_chapter.svg Wgn (talk) 17:23, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

--Mti (talk) 22:23, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

--Mti (talk) 22:26, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your deletion requests

[edit]

Hi, you allways miss to list your deletion requests to the daily request log page - for today it is Commons:Deletion_requests/2014/09/16. You find your incomplete request in Category:Incomplete deletion requests - missing subpage. Could you please complete these tasks. I'm still busy to clean up "your mess" from yesterday. Thx. --JuTa 15:45, 16 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Character help please

[edit]

Hi,

What are the characters at the bottom?

I've been trying to vectorise the flag on the right but it doesn't have enough resolution to let me see, and therefore copy, the characters at the bottom of the flag. Could you tell me what they are please? Bearing in mind that I don't speak or read Japanese it would be great if you could supply them in a way that I can copy and paste into the SVG. Many thanks. --Fred the Oyster (talk) 16:36, 17 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

--Mti (talk) 23:11, 17 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not an admin and have no power to either delete or save the files. I'm just a user like you. But if you could answer the question about the 3 characters at the bottom of the flag I would be grateful. Please separate the characters from the rest of your text so I know which ones to use. Thanks. --Fred the Oyster (talk) 23:58, 17 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
