Thanks again for the heads-up about the duplicated MassMessage. FYI, the related bug is phab:T93049; I didn't thank you there in order to avoid subscribing you to the task and thus giving you perhaps-unwanted emails. :) Quiddity (WMF) (talk) 02:01, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
@Jeff G.: , True I agree with you. But as you know the late actor is notable enough. And the death of the actor in Covid time has made it an event which will be remembered for many causes/ways. I believe that if BH cover celebrities visiting temple for blessings for movie success, then they also cover celebrity funeral. And due to covid the funeral is itself a event, due to the restriction imposed, and all stuff we have seen in 2020. Thanks --C1K98V(💬✒️📂)05:42, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
Yes and abusing multiple accounts too. For Jeff's info I have now blocked this one for a month (appears to be the original account) and the other one from the admin board is now indef. Thanks --Herbytalk thyme10:40, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
Hi Jeff G., I saw you responded to me on a help page for wikimedia commons. I am new at wikipedia editing, is it easier if I respond to you here or on the original help page? Thanks! (Lydiahoughton (talk) 11:36, 20 November 2020 (UTC))
@Lydiahoughton: Responding in the original venue is usually better for the current wiki environment because it makes following the conversation easier for others. Our conversation has not drifted into any area served by a special-purpose noticeboard. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me11:48, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
RE: this discussion [[1]].Yours and earlier answers said I was not a member of Commons before 2015'. And yet I posted this ([[2]]) and other pictures to commons before 2015. To me, that means I was posting to Commons before I was a member. But, you said that was not accurate?? --Jim Evans (talk) 01:35, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
In the meantime, deleting the relevant files seems prudent. ShakespeareFan00 (talk)

Hello,
I have a question because when I try to insert images they all get copyright claims. I insert an image from flickr and I followed what others did and put the link and the author (the person who posted the image) the image also had the all creative commons license so I thought that makes the image available for commercial use. May you explain to me how the copyright system works because I really don't understand. Can you also tell me how to find the license of an image to see if it is allowed to be used for commercial usage for any future contributions because I want to help but I don't really understand the rules. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Timetorockknowlege (talk • contribs) 04:04, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
@Jeff G.: Is there a list of what licenses are allowed to be put on wikimedia commons and wikipedia without copyright claims and removal? Also, is there a way to check what image has what licenses like a website or program?
(Edit conflict) (talk page stalker) @Timetorockknowlege: that’s a tricky one. It is supposed to mean someone thinks an image is PD, and we can’t take it at face value without a reason why. On Flickr people mark their own photos that way to release them without restrictions—we would prefer a “CC 0” licence but I don’t think it’s an option there—so in the case of the picture you linked momentarily, since it’s a “Pro” photographer’s account it’s probably OK. We’d want to do some ‘due diligence’, though, including checking the file metadata for anomalies, looking at the rest of the portfolio to see if the Flickr user uploads only his/her own pictures or collects stuff from here & there. BTW, no need to ping on any user’s own Talk page: notifications are sent for every posting there regardless.—Odysseus1479 (talk) 05:13, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
Hello. Remember this guy? Again uploading copyvio images. Also I tagged some more images for deletion, but another user User:JR Vid is removing the deletion tags. This user also uploaded a copyvio image. And it seems like its a sock. Kindly check this. --Stay safe ArnabSaha (talk) 08:49, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
Thank you Jeff G. for assisting with the deletion requests on my recent submission. Still a newbie here learning the Wiki language! I've responded to the original deletion request. The files should be deleted since they were uploaded by me in error. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RobOrlando2020 (talk • contribs) 18:03, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
