Thanks again for the heads-up about the duplicated MassMessage. FYI, the related bug is phab:T93049; I didn't thank you there in order to avoid subscribing you to the task and thus giving you perhaps-unwanted emails. :) Quiddity (WMF) (talk) 02:01, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

Ok, it's just that i don't know how to put a license without upload wizard. --ILoveCocomelon (talk) 13:54, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
- Besides, i'm a newbie and i don't know what a license is or what license belongs to what. --ILoveCocomelon (talk) 13:57, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
Lord....
Hello, do you know why Lord Liberty has been blocked globaly? I never hear of this...thanx.--Carolus (talk) 09:10, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Carolus: Yes, LordLiberty was globally locked (there's a difference) for "Cross-wiki abuse" after being indefinitely blocked on 3 projects. Additionally, his IP socks were globally blocked for "Long-term abuse" after my report of "Global lock evasion and a threat of physical harm" archived to m:Steward requests/Global/2020-10#Global block for socks of locked LordLiberty. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 14:33, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
- I am blockes too, in 3. So, what is the difference? I suppose he did some other things too...--Carolus (talk) 17:28, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
Advertising? Self promotion?
Hi, Jeff G. I was wondering if you could take a look at these images. Looks to me as if this user is advertising for some kind of business. Thank you for your time. Lotje (talk) 12:31, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Lotje: I tagged the photos & article, warned the user, and reported their name. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 14:32, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
Out of scope
Hi, Jeff G. I was wondering if you could take a look at the images from Pascalduponttours. Imo this is out of scope. Thank you for your time. Lotje (talk) 13:20, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

Out of scope?
Hi Jeff G. wondering if you could take a look at these images. Looks like advertising to me and the user is blocked on the Dutch Wikipedia. Thank you for your time. Lotje (talk) 05:51, 18 November 2020 (UTC)

Bollywood Hungama files
Hello @Jeff G.: , Please have a look at the files in Category:Irrfan Khan Funeral and Category:Rishi Kapoor Funeralfor review. Thanks for your consideration. --C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 05:22, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
- @C1K98V: Frankly, I'm not sure a funeral qualifies as an event for {{Cc-by-3.0-BollywoodHungama}} purposes, and I don't see red carpet type formal attire in these photos. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 05:37, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Jeff G.: , True I agree with you. But as you know the late actor is notable enough. And the death of the actor in Covid time has made it an event which will be remembered for many causes/ways. I believe that if BH cover celebrities visiting temple for blessings for movie success, then they also cover celebrity funeral. And due to covid the funeral is itself a event, due to the restriction imposed, and all stuff we have seen in 2020. Thanks --C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 05:42, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
- @C1K98V: Perhaps someone else who reads Template talk:BollywoodHungama will be more sympathetic. I am still waiting for clarification requested over 2 years ago. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 05:54, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

Hi Jeff G., wondering if you could take a look at these file looks like self promo and out of scope to me. Thank you for your time. Lotje (talk) 10:25, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
- Yes and abusing multiple accounts too. For Jeff's info I have now blocked this one for a month (appears to be the original account) and the other one from the admin board is now indef. Thanks --Herby talk thyme 10:40, 20 November 2020 (UTC)

Uploading an image
Hi Jeff G., I saw you responded to me on a help page for wikimedia commons. I am new at wikipedia editing, is it easier if I respond to you here or on the original help page? Thanks! (Lydiahoughton (talk) 11:36, 20 November 2020 (UTC))
- @Lydiahoughton: Responding in the original venue is usually better for the current wiki environment because it makes following the conversation easier for others. Our conversation has not drifted into any area served by a special-purpose noticeboard. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 11:48, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
- Oh awesome ok. I've responded over there then (Lydiahoughton (talk) 11:51, 20 November 2020 (UTC))

Changing discussion to here
RE: this discussion [[1]].Yours and earlier answers said I was not a member of Commons before 2015'. And yet I posted this ([[2]]) and other pictures to commons before 2015. To me, that means I was posting to Commons before I was a member. But, you said that was not accurate?? --Jim Evans (talk) 01:35, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

As you have OTRS to review the earlier tickets...
User_talk:Fæ#Traffic_Signs and Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Working Drawings for Traffic Signs in the United Kingdom
Also: - Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Traffic Signs Manual (UK) (Volumes) (The reason for the DR is that the original OTRS ticket may have only covered the DfT volumes (1,3,4,5,7) and not the 2 parts of Volume 8, as was assumed in good faith.) ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 19:04, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- The VPC thread in regard to the working drawings is Commons:Village_pump/Copyright#UK_Traffic_Sign_Working_drawings_-_OGL_or_not?, this may need someone with more experience than I have.
ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 19:09, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- In relation to the comment you reference on Fae's page, try psi@nationalarchives.gsi.gov.uk ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 22:19, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- In the meantime, deleting the relevant files seems prudent. ShakespeareFan00 (talk)
Image
Hello, I have a question because when I try to insert images they all get copyright claims. I insert an image from flickr and I followed what others did and put the link and the author (the person who posted the image) the image also had the all creative commons license so I thought that makes the image available for commercial use. May you explain to me how the copyright system works because I really don't understand. Can you also tell me how to find the license of an image to see if it is allowed to be used for commercial usage for any future contributions because I want to help but I don't really understand the rules. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Timetorockknowlege (talk • contribs) 04:04, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Timetorockknowlege: I'm sorry, but the license restrictions -nc- (noncommercial) and -nd- (no derivatives) are not usable by themselves for Wikimedia Commons. For the reasons, please see Commons:Licensing/Justifications. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 04:10, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Jeff G.: Is there a list of what licenses are allowed to be put on wikimedia commons and wikipedia without copyright claims and removal? Also, is there a way to check what image has what licenses like a website or program?
Timetorockknowlege (talk) 04:36, 24 November 2020 (UTC) Timetorockknowlege
- @Timetorockknowlege: Yes, COM:L. You didn't read that yet? How about COM:FS? Almost everything you find on the Internet does not have a license free enough for Commons. See also en:Wikipedia:Finding images tutorial. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 04:40, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Jeff G.: Oh ok thank you those really helped. Thanks again and sorry for any issue I've cause I'm new here and don't really understand how everything works yet. So anything with this mark on it https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/mark/1.0/ and this https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/ is free to use on commons correct?
Timetorockknowlege (talk) 04:43, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Timetorockknowlege: PDM is a weird beast, it's not actually a license. See COM:PDM and the surrounding page COM:F. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 05:02, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) (talk page stalker) @Timetorockknowlege: that’s a tricky one. It is supposed to mean someone thinks an image is PD, and we can’t take it at face value without a reason why. On Flickr people mark their own photos that way to release them without restrictions—we would prefer a “CC 0” licence but I don’t think it’s an option there—so in the case of the picture you linked momentarily, since it’s a “Pro” photographer’s account it’s probably OK. We’d want to do some ‘due diligence’, though, including checking the file metadata for anomalies, looking at the rest of the portfolio to see if the Flickr user uploads only his/her own pictures or collects stuff from here & there. BTW, no need to ping on any user’s own Talk page: notifications are sent for every posting there regardless.—Odysseus1479 (talk) 05:13, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Jeff G.: But the first 4 on this page https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Flickr_files are ok correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Timetorockknowlege (talk • contribs) 05:09, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Timetorockknowlege: Yes. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 05:18, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Jeff G.: Ok thank you I'll make sure any image I use from now on has one of those to be safe. Again thank you for the help.Timetorockknowlege (talk) 05:24, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

User:BNJ Nilam and copyvio images
Hello. Remember this guy? Again uploading copyvio images. Also I tagged some more images for deletion, but another user User:JR Vid is removing the deletion tags. This user also uploaded a copyvio image. And it seems like its a sock. Kindly check this. --Stay safe ArnabSaha (talk) 08:49, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
- @ArnabSaha: Thanks for the notice. When you have evidence, please use the "Report copyright violation" tool rather than the "Nominate for deletion" tool, it can be months faster. Thank you from a newbie!
Thank you Jeff G. for assisting with the deletion requests on my recent submission. Still a newbie here learning the Wiki language! I've responded to the original deletion request. The files should be deleted since they were uploaded by me in error. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RobOrlando2020 (talk • contribs) 18:03, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

FYI
Hi Jeff, please take care: Even if some of their user names sound rather similar, Category:Sockpuppets of Imran khan1 and Category:Sockpuppets of Xufifcn appear to be different heroes. The first is a vanity/promotional case, the latter was repeatedly uploading copyvios related to the Russian Khushk tribe. Best, Achim (talk) 20:54, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
