photo permission
[edit]Hi, Regarding this picture [1] The permissions are coming from the same person in the picture, he sent us by the OTRS system his identity card and letter of authorisation. --Bachounda (talk) 04:12, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
Hi Dr-Taher, why did you tag this image as copyvio? The source states CC-0. Or do you mean that the source is not realiable? --Túrelio (talk) 20:53, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
The same question for File:Mia Khalifa.jpg. --Túrelio (talk) 20:55, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Túrelio, Regarding the first picture, the source stated that (All Right Reserved), look at the bottom of this link [2]. For the second picture, the user wrote the same previous source, besides it was previously deleted for copyvio, look at this. Thanks for you. --Dr-Taher (talk) 21:14, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- O.k., now I understand your rationale. However, with regard to the "All Right Reserved", this is a misunderstanding of yours. As the cited source is a stock-image website, the "All Right Reserved" refers to their website content in general, whereas the copyright-status of the presented image is shown immediately besides the image. The claimed CC-0 license may still be wrong (for example due to untrustful uploader), however this needs solid evidence.
- With regard to the previous deletion(s): these were different images, despite the identical name. So, they cannot be applied to the current image. However, the fact that images of this woman have been deleted in the past should raise our attention. --Túrelio (talk) 21:24, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for this explanation, It's your duty to assure that the uploader did NOT violate copyrights. Thank you. --Dr-Taher (talk) 21:29, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Túrelio, Please look at the comments here by "Tm" about " license laundry attempt". Thank you. --Dr-Taher (talk) 22:13, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, yeah. That's what I hinted above as a possibility. However, it's better to treat that in a regular deletion-request, as it may lead finally to judge "stockvault.net" generally as an unreliable source. --Túrelio (talk) 06:58, 20 June 2018 (UTC)

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2017 is open!
[edit]You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2017 Picture of the Year contest, but not yet in R2.
Dear Dr-Taher,
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2017 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the twelfth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2017) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top 2 from each sub-category.
In the final round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2017.
Round 2 will end on 22 July 2018, 23:59 UTC.
Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee 11:32, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
User:Pi bot on ar.wp
[edit]Hi, I see that you blocked ar:User:Pi bot because its username implies that it is a bot. That's because it is a bot. ;-) It doesn't edit on arwp, though, the account was auto-created when it accessed pages there to get the wikidata ID for them. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 16:16, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
- Hello, Mike Peel, according to the account name policy it is not permitted. If you want to use it in arwiki you can ask for the flag of bot. --Dr-Taher (talk) 11:28, 2 September 2018 (UTC)
