4 old images

Dear Christian,

These are 4 "old" Mushroom Observer images of two species that Commons has no free images of from 15 years ago in 2009. So, the image resolution is low but the images are of good quality. The author today licenses his images with an NC restriction but not in 2009 or 2010. It is better than nothing, I suppose. I hope you can review them.

Kind Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 22:11, 3 July 2024 (UTC)

I discover that there is UK election thanks to you, ... so it was not my plan to watch them, after my day's work, if I still have energy I will likely pratice a bit jazz guitar. Christian Ferrer (talk) 11:23, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

Dear Christian,

Please kindly review these 2 images when you can.

PS: The UK election results were not a surprise. But the second French parliamentary election will be interesting and maybe create some chaos for Macron. Such is life, Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 23:32, 6 July 2024 (UTC)

Dear Christian, Please review these 2 images of another species when you can,

The French parliamentary election was a shock to the mainstream media including in canada and the USA who thought that the Right wing would win. Unfortunately the result in France may be a hung parliament where nothing gets done...for maybe one more year....till the next election? Yikes! Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 10:30, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

  • ✓ Done "a hung parliament where nothing gets done", well as I said above, nothing really new. Anyway they are here for a minimum of one year, the deadline during the assembly can not be dissolved a second time. Will they last until 2027? open bets... Christian Ferrer (talk) 11:37, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
  • Thanks Christian for your reviews and your kind thoughts. Best Wishes, --Leoboudv (talk) 17:50, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

  • Thank you for your kind help Christian. The default license at Mushroom Observer is wikipedia friendly at CC BY SA 3.0 but at https://www.inaturalist.org/ the fault license is CC BY NC 4.0 and so far no one there has agreed to license a single image freely yet. Such is life! Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 05:21, 12 July 2024 (UTC)

2 DR's

Dear Christian,

This image DR should be kept. I made a mistake launching a DR on it and gave reasons why the image can be kept.

But you can decide not to do anything if you feel more comfortable.

Secondly, I made a mistake launching a DR here. It is actually a clear copyvio or speedydelete. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 10:42, 13 July 2024 (UTC)

I commented on both, at first view the two DR seems justified IMO. Christian Ferrer (talk) 07:40, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
I know you thought you were doing well, but you can not add a "revewied template" with the name of an other user, that is simply wrong, and in some way a lie to potential reusers. A file not reviewed is a file not reviewed, that's all, and it is independent of whether we delete it or not. Furthermore on that date the uploader was not yet a license reviewer, but that is not the point. Christian Ferrer (talk) 16:58, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
  •  Comment: Thanks Christian. In one case, MGA73 I think launched a mass DR against another uploader's images (Mac9) many years ago because he uploaded his Commons images decades ago before the flickr review bot was reliable. I decided to contact a few flickr account owners and some agreed to license the images freely again. That was why Mac9's images were kept. The uploader understood copyright rules. Dear Christian,

Please review these 4 images when you can.

Dear Christian,

First of all congratulations on the performance of the French team....and Leon Marchand with his gold medal swimming performance. It is good that Russia is not at the Paris Olympics...as it leaves more medals for other countries who don't cheat as a matter of state policy. The news of the Canadian soccer "drone" cheating is an embarrasement to Canadians. Sadly while the coaches and managers of Canadian soccer did the cheating, it is our team's soccer players who have to deal with the fallout.

Please kindly review these 3 images if you can. These Austroboletus species are impossible to find anywhere on the Internet or inaturalist so I was surprised that these were indeed freely licensed. They were taken from Malaysia where I was born and lived in from 1973 to 1989.

But then Malaysia, like Singapore, is a member of the British Commonwealth. So...maybe it is not a surprise. Kind Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 23:51, 28 July 2024 (UTC)

I suppose you are perhaps more of a music fan than a sports fan. Unfortunately, for my Dad and me in the same Vancouver Canada/Washington State/California time zone, everything is 9 hours ahead in Paris so most events are held while we are in bed except the final swimming races when it is more like 11 AM here. If you can please review theses two images.

Thank You, --Leoboudv (talk) 07:05, 30 July 2024 (UTC)

Dear Christian,

Please review this extremely rare image when you can. The uploader agreed to license the image freely on flickr. It is the only piece of jewellery of the Egyptian 3rd dynasty. The next 4th dynasty was when Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure built the massive pyramids at Giza. Best, Leoboudv (talk) 21:31, 26 August 2024 (UTC)

  •  Comment: The copyright owner has more than 2,000 images from the Egyptian Museum in this flickr album so it is definitely his own work. But somehow he forgot to upload this rare image until I asked if had taken a picture of this piece jewellery from the 3rd dynasty of Egypt from the Egyptian/Cairo Museum---which is the only surviving jewellery from this dynasty today. So, he uploaded this image from his records. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 21:39, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
