Ciao, da questo documento[1] sembra che per la legge di Haiti, il copyright sulle opere d'arte scada 25 anni dopo la morte dell'autore. Secondo te, una foto scattata ad Haiti nel 1902, ovvero 112 anni fa, di autore sconosciuto, può essere considerata "ragionevolmente" libera ? Just out of curiosity, what is the rationale for this? And may I point out that when renaming commons categories, it could be a good idea to check whether Wikipedia articles link to this category with the links thus needing to be updated (especially when you don't leave a redirect behind). Ciao, ti segnalo Salehireza15 (talk · contribs) (su it.wiki ha creato anche un sock Rezasalehi15 (talk · contribs)), che da CU è risultato operare direttamente dall'interno della ditta che produce i materiali di cui ha caricato le immagini qua su Commons, in totale copyviol e per fini smaccatamente promozionali. Su it.wiki si è comportato in modo arrogante, ignorando tutti gli avvisi, in write-only e continuando imperterrito a caricare i suoi promo, bloccato una volta si è subito ricreato il sock e ha ricominciato come prima. Gli ho messo un blocco sul range di IP dell'azienda, se anche qua si comporta allo stesso modo, ti posso passare il range per eventuali azioni analoghe, se dovesse essercene bisogno.--L736E (talk) 10:41, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Il file in questione è, come molti caricati dall'utente, in bassissima risoluzione. Il nome dell'autore non corrisponde a quello dell'utente. Cercando con "ricerca per immagine" di Google, ho trovato che la stessa immaginane, proprio la stessa, è presente ad alta risoluzione su un blog, ma il post è datato successivamente al caricamento[2]. Per me sono state prese dalla stessa fonte, ma per qualche ragione l'utente ha preferito caricarla in bassa risoluzione. Guarda le due immagini, insomma sono proprio la stessa foto. Purtroppo, le immagini dell'utente sono molto vecchie per poter avere riscontri affidabili, probabilmente i siti da dove (forse) sono state prese non esistono più, e i precedenti di copyviol dell'autore non sono un indizio sufficiente. L'immagine era inserita in una voce creata da un IP su it.wiki, da anni autore di voci o bufale o in copyviol (c'è una RdP aperta) e con numerosi Sockpuppet, anche utenti registrati (vedi qui). Cosa dici ? A me a vede solo la lista dei file mi puzza di copyviol lontano un miglio.--Midnight bird 23:09, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

David Jones (Dewi Arfon)

Hi Blackcat. I notice that you have renamed Category:David Jones (Dewi Arfon) to Category:David Jones (poet). Please note that in Welsh literature we have a long tradition of poets using 'bardic names' rather than their real names. As a result many of the poets of the 18th and 19th centuries are far better known by their bardic names (in this case 'Dewi Arfon') than by their real names, so much so indeed that they may be almost unknown to readers by their real names. "David Jones (poet)" means very little to anybody familiar with Welsh literature whereas "David Jones (Dewi Arfon)" does. In addition, as several other Welsh poets and writers are also called David Jones if we eventually have images of them here and need categories adding '(poet)' will not be an option: the case of John Jones (a very common name in Wales) would be even worse! I could have chosen to name the category with the poet's bardic name alone but did not; perhaps I should have done. I'm sure you acted in good faith but please consider that what may have seemed to you an "odd" choice of category name was in fact a perfectly logical way to differentiate between this 'David Jones' and others. Isle of Wight

Hi. I noticed you recently moved Category:Sports on the Isle of Wight to Category:Sports in the Isle of Wight. I have moved it back. All Isle of Wight related categories use the 'on the' format as opposed to 'in'. This is because unlike other UK counties, the Isle of Wight is clearly an island, and this is the best wording. In response to a request for assistance at the Admin Board, @Editor5807: In the greater scheme of things I don't think it really matters which style is used as long as there is a redirect involved. However, if we must choose, I would support "in" rather than "on" because there appears to have been a general preference for similar categories for "Sports in" Anglesey, the Orkney Islands, the Outer Hebrides, and Shetland, which are all "island counties" of other parts of the UK. There are also the closely related sports categories for Guernsey, Jersey, and of course the Isle of Man. Green Giant (talk) 11:10, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Hello! While uploading a few files, I've uploaded images with some errors, which I've corrected immediately and re-uploaded their fixed versions. That had left a few useless file revisions around that just keep clogging up the histories, so I'm wondering whether it would be possible to delete those revisions? Could you, please, provide some guidance about that? Any help would be appreciated! Please reply where the discussion has started, and that was here not on my talk page. Once again: what is consistent there? "Sports venues in the Soviet Union" means simply "sports venues standing somewhere on the territory of the former Soviet Union", not more. It obviously cannot replace true "by country" categories like "...in Russia", "...in Ukraine", "...in Latvia",... I don't think sth. must be categorized any different than it currently is, except that the category should be named back to "built in the Soviet Union". Immagini sospette

Ciao Sergio, potresti controllare i caricamenti di Rodrigotebani? Molte immagini mi lasciano perplesso dal punto di vista della licenza, ma pure dello spam promozionale, come ad esempio questa, "published with permission of the author", autore in vita e permesso non pervenuto. Oppure questa, dello stesso autore, ma caricata come opera propria. Immagini poi utilizzate in diverse pagine dei progetti Wikimedia in maniera dal mio punto di vista impropria, stante la rilevanza dei soggetti tutta da dimostrare. --Phyrexian ɸ 18:01, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

Licenza immagini

Ok, grazie; nella pagina di caricamento di Commons sto licenziando le immagini con il cc-by-sa-4.0 inserendo però il template

nella riga "Permessi", in quanto nel menu a tendina "Licenza" non è disponibile (lì si arriva fino al 3.0).

Banner e nome e cognome autore in Summary

Interessante. Hai un link che spieghi come possa creare anch'io un banner come quello che tu hai inserito nel summary della tua foto di Quintiliani sopra il riquadro della licenza usata, come io possa inserirlo nei summary delle mie foto, infine come far risultare il mio nome e cognome reali anzichè il nickname alla voce "Attribuzione"? Grazie.

Altra segnalazione

Ciao, ti segnalo questa serie di caricamenti: probabilmente si tratta dell'erede legittimo ma il materiale IMO è tutto coperto da copyright in quanto l'artista (che pubblicava sulle principali riviste di fumetto italiane) è scomparso da meno di 70 anni. Su it.wiki ho dovuto proteggere la voce it:Renzo Restani: agisce in write-only e a ogni "oscuramento" delle immagini risponde in edit-war ripristinandone la visibilità. Immagini sospette

Ciao, ti scrivo per metterti al corrente dei miei sospetti (quasi certezze) inerenti Category:Logos of the Italian military sports bodies. Qualche settimana fa mi ero imbattuto in un logo in bassa risoluzione contenuto in quella categoria, e già che ne avevo a disposizione una versione migliore, l'ho ricaricato, copiando pari pari i tag di licenza. Confesso di non aver fatto troppo caso a cosa fosse indicato in descrizione, lì per lì. Ierlaltro, però, mi ha assalito un dubbio, sicché sono andato a ricontrollare le immagini e mi sono accorto che tutte, nel tag di licenza, riportano la dicitura Io, detentore del copyright su quest'opera..., in assenza del ticket OTRS che (data la natura delle immagini) dovrebbe certamente esserci. Perdipiù tutte le immagini (tranne una) sono state caricate da Kasper2006, che sappiamo bene quale rapporto abbia col copyright... Sono pertanto giunto alla conclusione che tali immagini vadano segate prima di subito, e che un loro eventuale ri-caricamento (sulla cui liceità mi voglio documentare) potrà avvenire solo sui singoli progetti. Hi, I removed some of your protections. Category's: We don't protect wrongly named category, except if vandalism. Template: Templates with 17, 200 , ... transclusions are not widely used. Immagine Meyers map.jpg

Ti scrivo in quanto ho caricato una versione modificata (File:Meyers map.jpg) dell'immagine File:Meyers b11 s0476a.jpg, più precisamente una vecchia versione originale ([5]), creando una versione pulita della mappa, l'utente User talk:Soupforone ha prima proposto la cancellazione dell'immagine da me caricata dicendo che non rispettava il fiule originale, poi una volta che gli hanno bocciato la cancellazione continua ripetutamente a inserire l'avvertimento di usare l'immagine caricata da lui in quanto di qualità superiore. Ho provato a dirgli che essendo un immagine derivata l'unico obbligo è quello di indicare l'originale, mentre indicare che quella è una versione scadente (che tra l'altro non mi risulta sia corretto applicare in queste condizioni) è solo una sua opinione personale, ma o non vuole capire o non mi so farmi capire, in quanto continua assiduamente a rimettere questo avviso, chiedo quindi la tua opinione ed intervento, grazie.--A7N8X (talk) 16:54, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

Vale anche su commons il discorso del nome utente inappropriato? Ciao Sergio, ho appena creato questa categoria e sto provvedendo ad inserirci i file, ma sono veramente tantissimi, sembrano non finire mai! fino ad ora sono arrivato a quota 164. Bots

If your bot or script is receiving the warning about this upcoming change (as seen at https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages ), it's time to fix your code!

• The simple solution is to simply include the "rawcontinue" parameter with your request to continue receiving the raw continuation data (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&rawcontinue=1>). No other code changes should be necessary.
• Or you could update your code to use the simplified continuation documented at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/API:Query#Continuing_queries (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&continue=>), which is much easier for clients to implement correctly.

Either of the above solutions may be tested immediately, you'll know it works because you stop seeing the warning.

Ma non posso scrivere mail a Sannita per un semplice chiarimento. Non mi compare più la possibilità di inviare mail. Puoi solo fare una precisazione da parte mia. Non ho mai scritto, né inteso contrapporre la cultura umanistica a quella scientifica, ma solo far presente che chi studia certe materie facilmente non ha la dimestichezza con l'informatica. La cultura scientifica non c'entra nulla. Parlavo di tecnologia informatica, non di scienze. Per quanto attiene il template, sono stato invitato da Vito a riscrivere la pagina altrimenti in mancanza del mio intervento (o di quello di Shivanarayana) l'avrebbe messa in cancellazione in quanto frutto di un vandalo, o almeno così ho capito.
