Welcome to Wikimedia Commons, Dsimic!

-- Wikimedia Commons Welcome (talk) 00:45, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

File:Eurocrem.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Thank you for bringing it to my attention, I'll provide my comments in the deletion proposal discussion. — Dsimic (talk | contribs) 18:36, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of useless file revisions

[edit]

Yes, ok, but which files exactly? -- SERGIO (aka the Blackcat) 21:28, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Blackcat, and thank you very much for responding! These are the files having useless revisions; all times are listed below as I see them, that is, in my time zone, which is UTC+01:00:
  • File:Intel X99 chipset.png – all revisions except the last one (as of 03:41, April 5, 2015, uploaded by myself) are redundant
  • File:M2 Edge Connector Keying.svg – revision as of 01:21, September 4, 2014 is redundant, which is the one I've uploaded; however, there are also more redundant revisions and I'd suggest that we actually leave only the following three revisions, which are the latest revisions uploaded by three different editors:
  • as of 22:11, May 5, 2014, uploaded by NikNaks
  • as of 14:42, September 4, 2014, uploaded by MjolnirPants
  • as of 00:30, September 5, 2014, uploaded by myself
  • File:USB Mini-AB receptacle.png – revision as of 08:33, August 16, 2014 is redundant (that would leave only one revision, the one as of 08:41, August 16, 2014 uploaded by myself)
  • File:The C Programming Language logo.svg – revision as of 07:11, May 3, 2014 is redundant (that would leave two revisions, one as of 00:41, November 5, 2013 uploaded by Rezonansowy, and one as of 07:18, May 3, 2014 uploaded by myself)
  • File:ASUS GTX-650 Ti TOP Cu-II PCI Express 3.0 x16 graphics card.jpg – revision as of 03:46, February 22, 2014 is redundant (that would leave three revisions, one as of 04:37, February 21, 2014 uploaded by myself, and two as of 03:17, February 22, 2014 uploaded by OgreBot)
If those useless file revisions could be deleted, that would be great. Please let me know if I should specify the actual revisions in a different way. — Dsimic (talk | contribs) 01:44, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I deleted all the old versions uploaded by you. I didn't delete the versions uploaded by OgreTheBot though. As for File:USB Mini-AB receptacle.png I deleted it at all because it is superseded by scalable version File:USB Mini-AB receptacle.svg. Regards. -- SERGIO (aka the Blackcat) 09:25, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Blackcat! Went through all files, and here's what's left to be handled:
  • File:M2 Edge Connector Keying.svg – these revisions are redundant and should be deleted, which are the ones I've uploaded while fixing various issues in the drawing:
  • revision as of 01:21, September 4, 2014
  • revision as of 00:30, September 5, 2014
  • revision as of 00:49, April 7, 2015
  • revision as of 00:55, April 7, 2015
However, there are also more redundant revisions and I'd suggest that we actually leave only the following three revisions and delete all other revisions, as these three are the latest revisions uploaded by three different editors:
  • revision as of 22:11, May 5, 2014, uploaded by NikNaks
  • revision as of 14:42, September 4, 2014, uploaded by MjolnirPants
  • revision as of 01:09, April 7, 2015, uploaded by myself
Also, following the example set by File:USB Mini-AB receptacle.png, these two files should also be entirely deleted as they're of rather low quality and their SVG versions have been available for some time:
Could you, please, handle that as well? — Dsimic (talk | contribs) 00:07, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The file revisions are fine now. Thank you very much, Materialscientist, for tying this up – your work is highly appreciated! :) — Dsimic (talk | contribs) 23:32, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Images of Arduino MEGA 2560 boards

[edit]

Hi Dragan, I added a note about the images you uploaded to the page for Arduino. If you compare the images you uploaded to the ones on arduino.cc and arduino.org, you'll see that they're quite different. I found this out by buying some boards (not on purpose!) from a fraudulent vendor and mine look just like yours; mine came with the blue USB cable in the background of one of your images. I'm not very good at Wikipedia or I'd figure out how to put up some official images. Also, I wonder if you think it'd be a good idea to put up some commentary about the counterfeit Arduino boards issue...any thoughts on that? 66.185.99.238 05:09, 11 May 2015 (UTC)May 10 2015 HF incorridge@yahoo.com[reply]

Hello! Yes, you're right, those are the images of an unofficial MEGA 2560 R3 board... The trouble is that official Arduino boards are unfortunately rather expensive, so people just keep buying compatible "clones" that are much, much cheaper. That's the economics 101, if you agree, :) and hardly anything could be done about that unless the prices of official boards go down and become competitive. I've adjusted two notes in the Arduino article, and added appropriate descriptions in the images of the board's front side and back side. — Dsimic (talk | contribs) 13:09, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
