question en français

Bonjour,

Je me permet de te questionner en français, c'est plus facile pour moi.

Voila, je suis tenté de me présenter au poste d'administrateur sur Commons. J'ai encore assez peu de contributions mais la moyenne des deux derniers mois est représentative de ma volonté d'implication dans le projet qui me semble manquer encore actuellement d'administrateurs (rapport nombre de fichiers/ nombre d'admins.

Ce qui me motive, c'est principalement de pouvoir aider au traitement des suppressions de photos, ainsi quà l'aide aux contributeurs, le traitement rapide des copyvio sur les nouvelles images, que je ne regarde pas aujourd'hui compte tenu que je ne peux pas agir. La possibilité de blocage/déblocage est moins importante pour moi d'autant que je ne suis présent qu'environ deux heures par jour et peu censeur par nature.

Mon principal handicap outre mon peu de contribs est mon faible niveau en anglais, qui entraine une lenteur dans mes interventions. par ailleurs, je me contribuerais guère plus qu'au rythme actuel.

Que penses tu de ma candidature qui est peut être prématurée. Je n'y donnerai suite que si elle n'est pas ridicule, le fait de ne pas être admin ne m'empéchera pas de continuer comme aujourd'hui. Merci de tes conseils ainsi que de m'avoir écouté. Oxam Hartog 11:24, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is the new OTRS email address that is specifically of Commons definitely permissions-commons@wikimedia.org? I ask because you only changed Commons:Email templates [1] but none of the other translations for that page, nor Commons:OTRS and that page's other translations yet. As I told you before, I'm willing to support the maintenance of the (string support) template if the question is taken to a poll again. At the time the issue was discussed, I was a very recent newcomer and didn't have the necessary background. But I always thought that the (string support) template was nothing more than a harmeless and kind compliment to the uploader/author, quite relevant in a place where unecessary bluntness is common. Je m'adresse à toi car tu es bureaucrate et que j'ai un problème avec une demande de changement de nom.

Je voulais demander de modifier mon nom d'utilisateur de Moumine70 à Moumine (donc, sans les deux derniers chiffres qui ne me plaisent pas du tout), mais voilà que je crois que j'ai fait une fausse manipulation, puisque ma demande n'apparait pas sur la page des demandes, mais que j'ai apparemment modifié le "template" ([2]). Excuse-moi, et merci de rattraper ma maladresse... Hi Steel... you can tag the image with a {{Db}} just like at en:wp, or a {{Speedy}}, or even a {{Copyvio}}. Someone did tag it (Bastique, in fact, tagged it with {{Logo}}), and after reviewing, I speedied it. Hope that helps! ++Lar: t/c 16:59, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, is there a possibility you can make a similar map like the one above for Miami Springs and Virginia Gardens, as there isn't one available. I tried making one using the ones above but can't seem to get it right, the red keeps coming out off and mixed with the gray when i work it, i dunno. Pic of the Day

Hi. I translate captions for Pic of the Day from time to time but now I'm in a bit of a trouble about this template: Template:Potd/2007-01. I've created a lacking Polish caption Template:Potd/2007-01-02 (pl), "What links here" shows it is linked to the main template but I can't see its contents anywhere on the main January page with the other existing translations. Hello, i have a similar problem with Template:Potd/2007-02-03 (de). It is not appearing on the Febuary 2007 page. I have the feeling it has sth to do with the number of digits you use for the day. But i am not sure. --AngMoKio 13:33, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The day numbering did not use a leading 0 between the 1st and the 9th of the month until january 2007 where this extra digit was introduced, breaking the current rule. isuppose this was an error, because I can't see any decision. If a leading 0 must be there, then all the history up to december 2006 would have to be renamed (lots of templates to rename!).
So until this change is discussed, I think this was an edit error when Bastique created the new months for january and february 2007 and this should be reverted before there are too many templates to rename (note that the TOC at the top of the page does not work as the links don't include the 0).
If day numbering must change later, this should be done coherently for the history... Currently january and february 2007 will break templates everywhere !Verdy p 15:26, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I changed it for consistency, as the months were using two digits, whereas the days were not. It is a very simple change in the templates--change {{CURRENTDAY}} to {{CURRENTDAY2}} and there will be no need to revert things going forward. Very simple change, and maintains consistency. I noticed you deleted my comments regarding Cool Cat's RfA. Considering the concerns from his previous two RfAs, I don't see how you can call my comments trolling. It almost appears as if you are trying to hide the fact that people have serious concerns about Cool Cat, both here and on en.wikipedia. I take great offense to the accusation of trolling. Removed the text from the page. Ya, seen this guy back on ar wiki, pure nutcase. :) He really believes that he has some kind of superpowers and hence people should respect and obey him. The admins back there respected his contributions, and felt that such superior contributions can't be left unguarded on wikipedia pages, so it was deleted. Olympic Rings debate again (Sorry!)

I know you've already been through this, but could you please look at the following debate one more time? From what I understand about copyrights (which isn't terribly too much, but it's enough), I think we might have a problem here.

Basically, by posting this image to the Commons, we are saying here that we are allowing ourselves to use this logo without any restrictions, for any purpose.....even if it contradicts the Olympic Charter? I believe the Olympic Charter says something to the effect of "the Ring logo can be used for any purpose that promotes the Olympic Movement." Now, I agree that most of the uses on Wikipedia will promote this without a doubt (research, education, etc.). However, if there happened to be an "Anti-Olympic Movement" or even something as simple as the following userbox:

(Ring logo) This User thinks that olympians are wasting their time.




then we could potentially have a legal issue on our hands. This is completely within Wikimedia guidelines, but it is grossly violating the conditions set forth by the Olympic Charter.

I've had little success bringing copyrights issues up to people at WP in the past, so for this problem, I figured I'd start with you, as you were the one who wrote the Copyrighted IOC template.
