user parameter?

[edit]

@Ruthven: You recently added a user parameter to the documentation for the {{PermissionOTRS}} template. However, I've reviewed the code for the template, and it does not appear to support that parameter. Why did you add it to the documentation? —RP88 (talk) 15:43, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@RP88: It is another parameter like the "nocat". I added it because it is widely used by the PermissionOTRS adding tool (in order to identify the operator that added it, I presume), thus it's better to document it in a way. --Ruthven (msg) 15:50, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Although the nocat parameter is actually supported by the template and the user parameter is an undefined parameter, I guess it can't hurt to mention it. Something to consider is that because it is an undefined parameter it isn't available to the localizations. —RP88 (talk) 15:56, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@RP88: I don't know if it's worth to add it in the template; something like "The volunteer that reviewed the ticket is XXXX". In reality, I don't even know if the parameter is deprecated, or hidden on purpose. The main reason is probably to have it for statistical reasons, and to track the volunteers that checked the tickets. Feel free to change whatever I wrote in the Docs! --Ruthven (msg) 16:28, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
