this one is in the code part, no idea if changing this breaks things {

Regular expressions

Hello,

Regular expressions do not seem to work. I am trying to correct the date in Category:La Bossue: from date=.* to date=1900, but nothing is changed. Simple replacements work. Any idea? Yann (talk) 08:02, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

@Yann: Did you sort it out? I would probably replace /(\|\s*date\s*\=)\s*[\d _\:\-]*/ with $11990 but /date=.*/ with date=1900 also works. Just make sure to tick the /R/ before that rule. -- Rillke(q?) 09:56, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
OK, I didn't use the /. Now it works... Yann (talk) 11:05, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
You can specify regexp flags like i after the last /. -- Rillke(q?) 11:24, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

script vs edit rate limit

When I try to use it, I get message saying "Some edits exceed your rate limit of 8 edits per 60 seconds." If I try to file a mass deletion request and each deletion needs a couple of edits by the script, it is quite evident this rate limit gets exceeded by a long range. (Anyway, this message tends to kick in even if I do 2-3 edits in a row, not following its own description.) How can I bypass it? --Pildirüüstaja (talk) 08:31, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

There is no need for having it bypassed for new users, quite the opposite. --Leyo 11:00, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
There is no way and the auto-timer that resumes after the 60s and the message with a countdown, if I recall correctly, are already very conveniently -- other scripts just bail out with a cryptic or generic error message. Start it slowly, Pildirüüstaja. Also consider continuing using your main account. -- Rillke(q?) 17:35, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
Well, first I nominated files for deletion one by one. Then somebody came complaining that they don't need several notices about their files, I should have used the mass deletion tool. I tried to use that, now you come and say I should do it manually. Please, people, talk to each other and agree on what exactly do you want. I can't do both at the same time. Also, I really can't understand why you think a new user shouldn't be allowed to say that a dozen pictures made of the same building or monument all violate the copyright. --Pildirüüstaja (talk) 18:45, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
No one said you should do it manually. I said start it slowly. There is nothing I could help you with here. -- Rillke(q?) 18:57, 14 July 2014 (UTC)

Ok, I'll just ignore the message. Thanks. --Pildirüüstaja (talk) 19:42, 14 July 2014 (UTC)

Files by uploader

I am often interested in finding users who uploaded multiple files that are now in the same maintenance category (and likely have the same problems to be fixed). Is there any possibility to do this in VFC? The easiest option would probably be to show the number of files per uploader in “Advanced Select Files” → “Uploader is”. --Leyo 22:30, 27 July 2014 (UTC)

Rillke (5)
Leyo (8)
ExampleUser (23)
This way? -- Rillke(q?) 23:02, 27 July 2014 (UTC)
Yes, that's what I meant. --Leyo 23:40, 27 July 2014 (UTC)
✓ Done in v.0.9.51.0. Note that the counts include pre-fetched information thus not all files counted by VfC have been necessarily already added to the user interface.
Great, thank you.
There is a minor problem with Hebrew: An upload by e.g. User:איתן6 is displayed as “איתן6 [1]”. --Leyo 18:43, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
Test cases:
“RTL” || “LTR”
“איתן6 ‏[1]” || “איתן6 ‎[1]”
“Rillke ‏[1]” || “Rillke ‎[1]”
Resolved Fixed

Rillke: I did some simplification :) Very nice and advance feature, thank you. −ebraminiotalk 11:18, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

Batch DR does not work

From the Russian Forum, here: Trying to batch DR files from Special:Contributions/Geltov fails on permamently inactive "execute" button. I tried, does not work with me as well. What's wrong? --A.Savin 21:00, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

Not sure as it works for me. Just to be sure, did you enter a deletion rationale with at least 11 letters? -- Rillke(q?) 22:21, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
OK thx, works, didn't know that it must be 11 letters (it was just a test, of course I don't know which DR rationale the requester at the Russian Forum wanted to add; but nevermind). --A.Savin 22:49, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
