Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Lockeridge Dene, Lockeridge Lockeridge Dene is a small area of land owned by the National Trust. It is characterized by the presence of numerous lumps of rock, apparently left behind by a glacier. http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/3980/lockeridge_dene.html I think these are so-called Sarsen stones, indeed post glacial deposits, and called by by the Wessex locals "Saracen stones" (anything foreign was of the Saracens) later corrupted to 'Sarsen'.
